and it isn't until cyrus is grappling with the terrifying sense of loneliness and abandonment after anders leaves that that clicks for him. so the very first thing he does is return the arulin'holm to merrill and apologize to her for everything, and despite everything, she lets him come in and sit with her while she works, and he listens as she explains the eluvian to him even though he doesn't understand a word of it because he's just so grateful to hear her voice again, and she listens intently as he tells her about the sword keyed to his blood, which she immediately wants to study, of course, eyes sharp as she sees how cyrus' body has been remade, the way the veil seems now to snag around it, caught and twisted and angular where his reaver's sacrifice has rent it

and the next time that merrill asks something impossible of him--to strike her down if audacity takes her--it doesn't destroy him like it once would've.

ok not to get personal but starting birth control literally confirmed for me that my periods i've been having for YEARS were actually a problem, like… i need to be examined for endometriosis/pcos/pmdd even more than i already did before.

my periods before my birth control were unbearable. like, anemia and fatigue so draining i hardly left my room, nausea so bad i had trouble eating, depression so severe i couldnt function for days, cramps that made me clammy and ghost-white, not to mention joint pain and muscle aches and the whole fucking process. and the cramps went into my back and my hips and basically everywhere in my lower stomach (and sometimes my upper stomach which is fucking annoying) and the bloating that made me cry from how much it altered my perception of myself.

but im having my first period on birth control and feel?? fine?? im not bleeding a lot or cramping much and my mental state is normal and im able to actually function?? sure i'm a bit tired and i feel a little blehh but its nothing, literally nothing like it was before. the cramps arent debilitating, i'm not dreading every single moment i'm awake, i'm able to function!! what the fuck!!

anyways if you relate to this. demand to be examined for endometriosis or pcos or both (bc you can have both) and if your depression skyrockets please look into pmdd. aughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
