QOTD: Do you have a favourite author who is underrated? Juliet Marillier is one of mine!! She writes wonderful historical fantasy novels with lots of complex characters and meddling fae. QOTD: Do you collect bookmarks? In the past I haven't actively collected bookarks. Just kept all the freebies I got from buying books 😅 However last month I decided to have some fun making my own! Some of you might recall seeing a few in my stories. These are the fruits of my labour and honestly it was actually really enjoyable 😁. If you like these designs and think they'd be something you're interested in adding to your collection, please check out the expression of interest form linked in my bio 🙏 If I get enough interest in a particular design, I might just sell start selling it 😉 I like the more minimalistic, simple style. They all contain a short quote and a silhouette filled with something that relates to the book. These are test prints I did on some photo paper we had in the house. I read this for the @literallydeadclub this month. I think it was fine, I was confused with what the plot twist ended up being. I felt like it was heading in a specific direction and it ended up being something different. Not bad, just weird. I love Peter Swanson's writing, it was very easy to get hooked. 🖋📖REVIEW: I received a copy of A Lifetime of Impossible Days from the author @birdtabitha in exchange for my review. . This story follows Willa during three different and pivital moments in her life. She has tasked herself with the responsibility of figuring out what exactly happened in her past and healing the hurt she has been left with as a result of these events. . TW: If you are interested in reading this story, please know that it does discuss self harm, suicidal ideation, domestic violence, sexual assault and drug use. . Overall I think that A Lifetime of Impossible Days was delicate and heartbreaking, I felt a strong sense of nostalgia reading from Silver Willa and Middle Willa’s POV as they recalled their pasts. I felt a very strong connection to the story when imagery of the ocean and skies were used to set the mood and tone of the scene. I think the story, while discussing truly traumatic topics, did so in such a thoughtful and profound way, I was connected to Willa and invested in her life. . I love that she taught herself everything she needed to move on. I would recommend this story to those that like to read about a person’s life, there isn’t an action-packed plot, but it is an explorative sort of slice of life story that somehow also expands decades, with a touch of magical realism in all the right places. . ⭐⭐⭐⭐💫 .
