okay i understand that we're going for comedy but i cant help myself here

so double life is the third life series, and in the canon of the life series, dl is the first time joel has gotten a partner and has not been alone (i could go on and on about how that affects his relationship with etho but we don't have the time for that)

but in dbhc, he gets what is essentially a robot as a partner, devoid of human affection and intimacies (at least for now), after 3rd life where he had no team, and last life, where his team was broken on the second episode

hes starting to wonder if he's not meant to have anyone after all

Ok so I’m someone who doesn’t like going into the dub vs sub debate, I think it’s stupid, I switch between which animes i wanna watch dubbed or not based on the mood i feel or the vibe of the show or if one is simply hard to access i go whichever is available even if I don’t deny the original sub is the definitive version most of the time- and while I’d need to watch Kikaider dub in full yet know overall I’ll probs like the sub more, I was listening to a bit for a gif and wow ngl Dave Wittenberg nailed the scream here better then Tomokazu Seki, I’ll put both below as comparison if I can: (cause tumblr hates videos)

Overall do I like Seki more? Yes, Dave a fine dub voice for Jiro but Seki most of the time nails the notes for him, however, this moment just feels better in English to me. Both screams they’re in pain, yes, but Dave hit for me more. Possibly because there was a delay in the scream? I’m not a va expert so I can’t judge deliveries precisely, but this one just feels better to me. I can def attest dub screams can be more hit or miss but Dave didn’t miss with this one at all. I did not expect to go on a weird va tangent with this fucking show but Gooood I miss it once again.
