picked up Sky: Children of the Light again.
I’ve played a lot of video games that people describe as their “comfort game” but imo none will compare to SCOTL, i’ve been playing this game off and on for years and it never fails to cheer me up or calm me down.
The other moths (players) are so kind and friendly no matter if you’re new or old, f2p or whale. They show each other unconditional support and kindness and i’ve never loved a community more.
I struggle a lot on Eye of Eden, specifically tonight where i just decided to hop on after not playing since Season of AURORA therefore super rusty and was doing horrible in Eden. a fresh moth came up to me, grabbed my hand, and led me through the hard parts before letting me go (along with a very adorable emote) and trusting me to guide them through the end area of Eden.
I’ve spent a bit of money on this game and it’s always super cute to have fresh moths compliment my appearance and get excited when i give them a little fashion show, then they show me through the things they’ve earned and i’m just as supportive.
Not only in interactions, but the small messages players leave behind as well. They are all about continuing on, finding hope in the darkness, and reminders that things will be okay eventually — as well as the occasional silly one.
if you’re looking for a very calm and slow game that still gives you little quests, i would really recommend you check out Sky, it never lets me down and i’ve enjoyed getting to know a lot of people through it.
here’s some screenshots i have :)

Cannot recommend Tunic enough if you’re looking for a video game to introduce gaming to your kids. There’s little to no reading, accessibility settings to essentially make the main character invulnerable while little hands are learning how to use a game controller, gorgeous graphics, and a soothing soundtrack.
For older kids, there’s an in game guidebook written in a mysterious language with only a few words translated to English.
Tunic is technically an action-adventure game, but with most of the guidebook and signage in the game untranslated it can feel more like a puzzle game at times. Combat without accessibility controls is unforgiving. Resources are expensive and can be wasted. Tunic is a challenging game for older players and a bright, colorful world to explore for younger players.

Every time I play the last level of Ghostrunner I'm like "oh this is octo-expansion if Splatoon wasn't rated E" lol
Which maybe makes no sense to anyone but me and I probably sound like "guy who only played X" here but. You know. I'm gonna slap some words out about it anyway, which will not be organized at all. obviously huge GR and OE spoilers
Okay so disclaimer. it has also been a very long time since I played OE. BUT. Tartar's thing was basically about how he's sick of humanity's successor being "petty and violent" (given that society revolves around how fresh your outfit is and playing pretend war), and he wants to erase and start over with a new, perfect blend of DNA that will result a more "ideal" world.
Though not entirely the same, it came to me when I was playing the final level of GR that the Architect's goal is similar, though without the whole levelling a city thing. At the beginning/middle of the stage, his lines go something like: "Mara was wrong. Humanity must be protected. Not just from the outside world, but from itself as well. And to protect fully, I need full control." [GR: You want to enslave everyone?] "I want to unify them. There will only be one purpose, iron resolve, and a single will. Everyone will eat, sleep, breath, and breed according to the needs of the Tower. No more violence, no more conflict, no more corruption." (if you want to watch/listen to the lines, here's a playthrough of the last level. the delivery makes it better imo)(also you can listen to one of my favorite tracks in the game, it's a bop).
As I was writing this I realized 8's and Jack's storylines are... sort of similar as well? Following a voice you think is helping you, only for it to turn out that thing had other plans for your body (not you, of course. we don't need you)(see also Architect's "Why are you so selfish? This is how you can serve humanity!" line)
Anyway. my brain is mushy atm but. do you see my vision. Creating the "perfect" world through complete order... a sanitized society... something something.........
