Promoting Brands In A Scam-Wary World – Avoiding Scammers And Spammers.
Building a marketing or brand building company is tough enough when it comes to reaching out to new people that don’t know you from a bar of soap.
You don’t need people out there doing harm to your type of promotional business but in 2025 that’s our new reality: a trust crisis fueled by scammers and spammers.
As deceptive tactics become more pervasive, you’ve got to pivot from the old idea of casting a wide net to taking a trust-first approach.
Your potential new customers have grown increasingly cautious and in some cases this might extend to someone in their family having been on the wrong end of scammers. So now, every touchpoint carries the potential to either build or break a very fragile trust.
The evolution of digital behavior is unmistakable. Consumers now meticulously screen their emails, dismiss unfamiliar phone calls, and hesitate to click on even seemingly attractive digital links.
This is not merely a nuisance, it’s a seismic shift in expectations.
In this scammer infected climate, a compelling, secure digital presence is non-negotiable. Your company image and your website needs to immediately convey credibility with robust security signals, an intuitive user experience, and transparent privacy practices.
Authentic, high-quality video content can also play a pivotal role. By putting a real face and honest story to your brand, video helps dismantle the cynicism that scammers and spammers have sown.
Rethinking your channel strategy is equally crucial. Instead of relying on aggressive, generic outreach, you need to invest your time in channels that are inherently trustworthy.
Traditional venues like established media outlets, verified social networks, and native platform features provide natural safeguards against deceptive practices. Emphasize authentic storytelling and genuine engagement over sensational claims and clickbait, which only serve to further alienate discerning audiences.
Success in today’s market can no longer be measured by superficial metrics alone. It demands an assessment of deeper, qualitative interactions, repeat visits, meaningful conversations and real testimonials that signal trust.
When a marketing or brand building company actively addresses digital deception and fosters transparent communication, it should not just survive but thrive, turning skepticism into a strategic advantage.
Top 5 Takeaways:
Trust is Paramount: A genuine, secure digital presence is essential in overcoming consumer skepticism.
Behavioral Shifts: Modern consumers are more discerning, prioritizing safety over flashy outreach.
Authentic Content Wins: Videos and real stories rebuild credibility and combat the effects of clickbait.
Smart Channel Strategy: Choose reputable channels that naturally filter out spam and deceptive content.
Real Engagement Matters: Focus on deep, quality interactions rather than vanity metrics.
For a deeper dive into how to navigate this trust crisis and build lasting relationships in a scam-wary world, you can read my full article: Topload Brands - Avoiding Scammers And Spammers

What constitutes a random ass post? Is it just when someone is tagging something unrelated? When it’s just something briefly mentioned or...?
some of u are too confident putting ur random ass posts in the main fandom tags
#/gen because I genuinely do not get this sentiment outside of tag spammers#Especially because tagging is not just finding it’s also for filtering#Like maybe the post isn’t a list of headcanons or a piece of art or a character study#Maybe it is just random rambly thoughts on the media but like#Does that not deserve to be tagged...?#Why not?#Again I’m thinking of how tagging is also for filtering cquse like#Maybe the post isn’t eloquent and it’s a lot of brain spaghetti thrown at the wall but like#It’s still about That Piece Of Media#And just because it’s off the cuff doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be properly tagged for those who want to Avoid That Media for whatever reason#And tbh it also doesn’t mean that it doesn’t deserve to be seen#I’m probably over thinking this and you probably just meant like#A post that goes Drinking Hot Cocoa And Watching She Ra!! being in all the spop tags#But it’s the if you didn’t thats got me real confused

Big fools Choi Su-bong x F!reader
Fools part 2
part 1
summary: after realising he has feelings for his best friend, Su-bong decides he’d rather ignore her than face himself. she, however, decides to confront him at his place after a silence way too long. after all, only a fool would let such a great friendship slip through their fingers, right?
word count: 1.5k
warnings: idk how to put this but toxic self-preservation habits, avoidant personality. no games au, overall it’s mostly fluff. and tensionnn
a/n: this was requested by many, and here it is! lmk what you think!

Ever since Su-bong realized he had a crush, he figured it was safer to ignore you.
You, on the other hand, often found yourself waiting for any of his usual messages between shifts, before heading to work, at night before sleeping. It was strange - he still sent you about fifty dumb videos on social media, but when it came to your texts, he only responded with single letters - idk, k, ye, lmao. He used to be such a spammer, even letting you know when he was wiping his windows.
Your job took up most of your time, so you didn’t think much of it. But when your best friend didn’t show up for your Friday night hangout at your place, you knew something was off.
That very night, you decided to knock on his door to confront him about his mysterious disappearance. After leaving the hospital, you took an ice-cold shower, dried your hair, and slipped into something comfortable.
Before heading out, you grabbed your white coat - just in case the hospital needed you in an emergency. Then, you stopped by the store downstairs and bought a can of his favorite juice, microwave popcorn, instant noodles, and stuffed everything into a bag before paying.
The bell chimed as you stepped outside, the cool night air brushing against your shoulders beneath your jacket. You hailed a cab, and during the ride, your face remained pressed against the window, forming a foggy imprint. Your reflection merged with the strands of your hair sticking to the cold glass.
The driver stopped after about ten minutes in front of a nearly run-down building, covered in graffiti - one of them, you were a bit ashamed to admit, being a terrible idea between Su-bong and you: a massive purple T for Thanos, with your fingerprints stamped in the corner as if to mark your presence. He loved staring at it (it was hideous and someone even took their time to draw a middle finger next to it). But you had a soft spot for it. For the building. And for Su-bong.
The place had no elevator, so you climbed the stairs two at a time, reaching the fourth floor, slightly out of breath. You knocked lightly on the door labeled Mr. Choi and waited. No sound. No usual shuffle of his footsteps approaching, no crash of furniture followed by a curse as he struggled to move around. Just complete silence.
Your heart pounded as you rang the doorbell. Where was he? After a few minutes, you decided to leave - when suddenly the door swung open, revealing Su-bong, shirtless, wearing nothing but a pair of sweatpants hanging low on his hips, barely concealing his abs, his pecs, or the sharp V-line. Tattoos ran along his sides and down his arm, rings and piercings catching the dim light.
Shit. It was suddenly very hot. Scorching.
His eyes widened when he saw you. Without a word, he moved to slam the door in your face, but you wedged your foot between it with an outraged gasp and a small yelp of pain as the door nearly crushed your ankle. You pushed through and stepped inside his small apartment.
The air was cold, he had opened every window, and the place was a complete disaster. Sure, Su-bong was messy. His clothes were always scattered around, and the moment he entered your place, your floor would somehow be littered with trash and dirty socks. But this, this was another level. Empty cans, plastic wrappers, crumpled tissues, and a sink overflowing with dishes.
“What the hell! Did a tornado hit this place?” you exclaimed. “What in the world is going on?!” You scolded him, eyebrows furrowed. “Shit.”
You took a good look at him - his indigo hair was a disheveled mess, even more than usual, his eyes bloodshot, and he reeked of something sharp and acidic.
“Get out of my apartment,” he muttered.
You shook your head, dropping the bag of snacks onto his counter. Your jaw clenched.
“No, seriously, what the fuck is this? What’s wrong with you? This isn’t normal,” you shot back.
His eyes reddened further. “Why do you even care?”
“I care because you’re my damn best friend, and I’m worried about you!”
He ran a hand through his hair, eyes darting around for something. Then, they landed on a rectangular pack. He grabbed it, slowly, deliberately, then searched for a lighter.
“You smoke again?” You blinked in surprise. “I thought you were quitting.” He had said he’d switch to vapes, then try to stop altogether.
He ignored you, taunting you as he brought the lighter to the cigarette between his lips. With a small click, a flame flickered, igniting the tip. He expertly tapped the ashes off with his finger, letting them fall onto the already grimy floor. Then, he exhaled a cloud of smoke right into your face.
“Su-bong?” You hesitated. He was scaring you. Your heart pounded even harder. “What’s going on?”
Your voice softened. Slowly, carefully, you stepped closer. He watched you, his dark eyes following your every tiny movement. There was something cruel in his gaze, but you could see the cracks.
When you finally stood in front of him, you reached for the cigarette. His fingers barely resisted, parting just enough for you to take it from him. He watched your every move. Then, in a silent challenge, you raised the cigarette to your lips, your nurse lips, untouched by poison, and took a drag.
The smoke invaded your lungs. And you felt it instantly - you weren’t built for this. A coughing fit hit you, and you choked, throwing the cigarette out the open window.
“Ah, fuck!” you wheezed. “Ha, you exhaust me.”
Against his better judgment, he smirked, amused by your struggle. You shot him a glare, but suddenly, the laugh you had been holding back broke free, bubbling into the air. You both burst out laughing, and you collapsed into his arms, still shaking with mirth.
“Wow,” you murmured. “I tried to impress you.”
He finally calmed down, your friendship and laughs bringing you together once more. His hand slid up your arm, pulling you closer.
“You suck. Don’t ever smoke again, señorita,” he chuckled.
His body relaxed, Su-bong you knew was back. So you shoved him onto the couch, standing over him with a sharp glare.
“Oh, there you are! Now TALK,” you demanded. “What the hell is going on?”
His gaze locked onto yours, darkening again. He tried to look away, but you coughed, forcing his attention back. You caught him glancing at your breasts. “Eyes up here,” you scolded.
He groaned, finally meeting your gaze. “Happy?”
“Almost. Now tell me what’s wrong.”
He sighed. “Nothing. Just tired. The team’s pissing me off with some rap battle shit.”
Liar. You smirked. “And I’m supposed to believe that? I remind you, I’m a nurse - I get lied to about people’s problems every day.”
A lazy grin tugged at his lips. One hand rested under his head on the couch’s armrest. The other snaked around your waist, pulling you in until you stood between his legs. The heat of his touch burned through your clothes.
“A very pretty nurse,” he murmured. “I bet your patients lie just to get you to take care of them longer.”
Your heart stumbled. Men rarely had this effect on you - you were always in control. But now - your mind blurred. His fingers, that subtle yet friendly touch, seared through your chest.
“Oh, yeah?” Your voice dropped, breath warming.
He noticed the shift. His hand slid from your waist to your thigh, his breathing quickening. His violet hair was a tousled mess, his gaze glinting under the dim light. You stared at each other, hearts pounding in sync.
His fingers traced up your jacket. Slowly, he slid it one sleeve off your shoulders. Then, moving to the other, he did the same, leaving you bare under your white crop top.
So, so gently. His hands skimmed your skin, sending shivers down your spine. Then, they slipped under your top, gliding higher and higher until you raised your arms.
He stood, towered over you, helping you remove your shirt, his fingers brushing your cheek, his breath uneven. It was so hot. You were burning. Your top joined the mess on the floor.
His hand found your neck, undoing your hair tie, letting your hair tumble over your shoulders, your bare chest rising and falling. Already shirtless, his skin met yours, igniting sparks.
It was too late. Far too late. His hand cradled your nape, rings icy against your skin. The open windows sent exhilarating chills through your overheated bodies.
And he leaned in. Slowly. Infinitely slowly. Your gazes were veiled by your eyelids as they closed gently, like a breath, your breaths mingling. Your skin ignited. And your lips - just a millimetre away from brushing. The anticipation burned inside you. You burned for him to touch you.
He took his time. Grazed your mouth with his own.
But he could not anymore, his already low patience breaking, and he melted against you. His acidic, forbidden taste crashed against your pink lips, and in that exact moment, your entire friendship crumbled.
This was a big mistake. Big big mistake. But you had no time for regret, right now.
You were both such big fools, after all. Big fools with a crush, and the inability to express it vocally.

LMK WHAT YOU THINK GUYSS!!

Beware of mosabsdr (and scammers pretending to be from Palestine)
Remember the response post that I've made to mosabsdr? Well, apparently, I was deceived by mosabsdr the whole time.
Please note that I have nothing against actual and innocent Palestinians, but I made this post to spread awareness against a notorious serial inbox scammer and spammer pretending to be from the same country as them.
One day, @greenpop (thanks for letting me know that mosabsdr is a scammer) told me on my previous post about his ask that he is a scammer pretending to be from Palestine, who managed to buy a verified badge from tumblr themselves and has been called out by people from all walks of life for spamming their inbox in order to ask for 90k USD on their chuffed.org campaign.
Additionally, it was revealed that according to nonaferatu, mosabsdr had other blogs, including abedmajeed and nasergz, all with the same intent of scamming others like you out of your well-earned money.
Actually, I've encountered and seen several scams throughout my entire life, including a few Kickstarter scams like Chronicles of Elyria, and nothing angers me more than scammers profiting from the money of people living in unfortunate situations around the world.
If you're one of mosabsdr's victims, please let me know so that we can avoid fraudsters like mosabsdr that are profiting from the situation people in places like Palestine and my home island, are currently in, and not only that, please block him and all of his associated accounts.
UPDATE (as of April 23rd, 2025):
Shortly after this post was made, mosabsdr tried to reach out to me, trying to do damage control by trying to twist the narrative and lie his way around this situation, but I don't care so I deleted his ask and blocked his ass.
UPDATE (as of April 26th, 2025):
Ah shit, here we fucking go again, with an another scammer called nadinfamily, trying to profit from the unfortunate situations actual Palestinians are currently in, by doing the exact same thing as mosabsdr, this time pretending to be a woman named Nadin living in Gaza. >:-(
UPDATE (as of May 9th, 2025):
Another day, an another scammer. How many times do we have to teach you this lesson, scammer guy? So, I checked his chuffed campaign and wait a second, the math ain't mathing here.
Turns out, the organizer has the same name as mosabsdr, so we know that it's already him, and is asking for 90k USD. Please do not fall for this organized fraud ring and do not donate money to his campaigns in any way.
Additionally, I have reported the chuffed campaign and you should all do the same as well.
UPDATE (as of May 23rd, 2025):
nasr-daher replied to my post this afternoon, trying to damage control by trying to twist the narrative while harassing and gaslighting me in the comments. Here's my response to each of them below the replies:
"Nice try nasr-daher, but no, you're the one who's spreading false info and useless efforts against me and the other vigilante tumblr users who warned others about your scams while harassing and gaslighting them into believing your lies. Additionally, what you're doing is identity theft, as you used the real names of actual innocent Palestinians who are in unfortunate situations due to an ongoing genocide in their own country.
Btw, my speech is 100% correct, from what I can find from other testimonies from other Tumblr users who were victims of your scam.
And no, I didn't contact your so-called "uncle" Mosab, as it's obviously yourself, and verify it with him cuz he's a scammer.
However, people on Tumblr already knew the truth about you and we don't believe. Besides, the so-called "some of gazavetters admins" are also scammers too.
Also, you're not deeply sorry with that stupid sob story, as your shitty manipulative guilt-tripping ahh tactics don't work on me cuz I am one of the actual survivors of a major disaster which had destroyed most of the infrastructure in where I live and nearby countries 5 months ago, and right now, I only think about one of my lifelong dreams to graduate from high school."
Honestly, from what I can find so far about nasr-daher, he continued to scam other people on here who can't afford most things due to the expensive costs of living in where they live. As a result, after he sent these comments, I immediately removed them and blocked his ass again.
Turns out, according to nonaferatu, there's a theory that the mosabsdr/nasr-daher scammer has stolen the identity of an actual guy, who had a now-defunct GoFundMe fundraiser that had the original goal of 20k euros (equivalent to 22k USD as of writing) and was linked to a now-defunct blog under the name of mssb9996.
Additionally, he had found a verified account with the defunct GoFundMe with the title of "Help me saving who's left of my family" and took over.
Here's the screenshots of the now-defunct GoFundMe fundraiser below, thanks to the Wayback Machine.
According to the description of the defunct GoFundMe, Mosab was a 28-year-old man, who despite being married to his 22-year-old wife (who despite him claiming that she's 21, when in fact she was already 22 at the time when this GoFundMe was originally launched taking to account that she was born in February 2002), with whom he had a 5-month-old daughter named Amani, has gone through a lot in his life, having lost most of his extended family except for his dad and other brother, despite having his own family by his side.
However, somewhere in between late 2024 and early 2025, way before I posted my response to mosabsdr's ask and the GoFundMe was deleted, the title was changed to "Help Mosab saving who's left of his family" while the organizer was changed to a certain Mohamad S, who claimed to be good friends with his neighbor Mosab, and the wording was written in the third-person perspective, except that there are typos that I pointed out with a yellow highlighter.
If you have any more information about the mosabsdr situation, please let me know.

I'm going to repost the thread I made on BlueSky here under a read more, and people can send me asks about it (I will temporarily turn Anon back on, but if I get that same spammer again then I will turn Anon off again)
TFA Arranged Marriage AU - Sold for Temporary Peace
--
For a background, the Decepticons were able to gets their hands on the access codes for the Omega Sentinels during the war. Not from Ratchet or Arcee, but a different bot. They reversed engineered the codes and made their own Sentinels. So the war is now at a stalemate instead of an end.
For millions of years the battles continued and more Autobots got pulled into Boot Camp and the Elite Guard - Draft Dodgers were being rounded up and made to serve in some fashion. Prowl may have avoided being pulled into the war temporarily, but soon he would be pulled from Yoketron's school, but Prowl's story is for another day.
Instead we focus our attention on the Academy where a trio of bots snuck away to an Organic Planet, but only two returned. Sentinel thought they could get some valuable intel or even weaknesses on the Decepticons from that ship. Elita-1 also thought the same thing, while Optimus thought this was a bad idea. So when Optimus and Sentinel were the only ones to return, Optimus took the blame on his shoulders. But things go in a different direction as the war, which has been at a stalemate, suddenly takes a turn.
Suddenly the Decepticons have started to push forward and taken more territory from the Autobots, and Ultra Magnus realizes that at any moment Megatron could march onto Cybertron and take it for himself. What they need is a way to delay Megatron. They need to buy themselves time.
And then Ultra Magnus gets an idea. Instead of having Optimus expelled from the Academy, at least on record, he instead has Optimus given the rank of Prime and forged some paperwork to make it seem like he has led countless victorious battles against the Decepticons. Just enough to hopefully catch Megatron's attention, all so Ultra Magnus can make a proposal that will hopefully buy them some time. As he knows Megatron can and will take whatever he believes to be a valuable asset, or destroy it to stop it from being used by Autobots.
Once that is done and the details are leaked to the Decepticons, Ultra Magnus gives Megatron an offer. Temporarily cease his conquest in exchange for this extremely valuable Prime to take to use for whatever he desires. Even have him as a consort if he so desires.
Of course Megatron is suspicious at first, until he sees the real academic records from this Prime that's being offered to him. Even if the dates were fudged to make it seem like Optimus graduated a long time ago, he still recognizes talent where he sees it and agrees to the temporary ceasefire.
Ultra tells Optimus that he is to do everything he can to get close enough to Megatron to then put an end to him. Without Megatron at the head, the Decepticons should scatter and be easier to take down. He also says this is the only way Optimus can make up for what he did on Archa-7, and it is also the only way for Optimus to truly earn the title of "Prime" - and yet, Megatron is laughing internally during the negotiations because he sees it as Ultra Magnus throwing away a potentially valuable asset. So he might as well do what he can to convince Optimus of the truth.
That to Ultra Magnus and the Autobots, he is disposable. Someone who is sent to fulfill only one purpose and then be discarded the moment he is no longer useful. He hopes that with the help of this new asset, he can properly take Cybertron for himself and his Decepticons.
From there it is only a matter of time until the Decepticons return to their offensive and finally take Cybertron, and that is with the help of their lord's consort.

New User Advice: Use Your Words
Welcome to new tumblr users! This post is going to explain why we don’t censor things on tumblr, why that’s important for safety, and why that will help your posts get MORE visibility, not less!
Now I know on some apps, particularly TikTok and Twitter, there’s the worry that saying certain words will cause the algorithm to ignore or suppress your post. Tumblr does not have an algorithm like that. There’s technically a “For You” page, but most people don’t use it and I don’t suggest it because that’s not really how tumblr works best.
Tumblr works best when you actively choose to FOLLOW people. This site is about connecting with individuals by CHOICE, not just passively consuming content that has been fed to you by math. Browsing tags and using the search function is your best bet to get started finding cool people. You follow them, and their posts will show up on your dashboard. Soon you’ll have collected a bunch of cool people and you’ll see great posts all day long!
If you WANT people to find your content, tag it with relevant tags. You WILL be reported as a spammer if you use tags that do not relate to your post. Do not tag your post about snakes with whatever tag is trending that day. Just tag it #snakes and #snakeblr. Just like TikTok has "booktok", combining the interest with the word "Tok", we do that on Tumblr too! We have #bookblr and #studyblr and all other kinds of tags to explore! You can also explore by using ship tags, like #spirk or #garashir or #stormpilot or any other ship name.
You can also choose what post content and which tags you want to block, and it works really well in this site! This function is built in, you just have to go to settings > "general settings" > "filtering in the app", and settings > "content you see".
But - all of the above ONLY works well if you USE REAL WORDS. There are no "le$bians" or "ledollarbeans" on Tumblr, they are lesbians. You can say lesbian here. You can say "kill". You will be mocked if you say "unalive". You NEED to tag warnings with the actual word, not a misspelled censored version, because otherwise you are actively hurting the people you are trying to help. If I need to avoid images of snakes, you're not helping me if you tag your post #sn4akes. I'm not scared of the word "snakes", I'm scared of images OF snakes, and you've now made it so my filter for "#snakes" isn't going to work.
ALSO - you can add read mores here. PLEASE do this.

Keys guide to scam spotting
Hi! I’m Key/Jess and I’ll be giving you a detailed explanation on how to spot scam accounts with commonly known examples such as what they do or what to look out for. All this information is meant to serve as a post that can be easily understood with information of my own and tips of my own. Any tips I give here is my own and any resemblance to other info is entirely a coincidence. I will make this post as accessible as possible for ease of readability so it is all plain text and no big letters beside the top so it has a title. This is mostly based around pet donation scammers but can be used to spot other scams as well.
—
What is a scam post on tumblr? A scam post is when someone is using information that isn’t their own and claiming they need money but are using a stolen story as theirs. Their situation, while it is real most of the time, is actually from another site and isn’t their situation. Usually a search of it will show any posts but this works best if you used Google or another search engine. However, this process isn’t always reliable. Scam posts are posts that are not truthful and deceive users into donating by having stolen content.
—
There are a few things to keep in mind that will help you figure out if an account contacting you is a scammer and usually, most of the time, you will find it is a legitimate person if you just kindly ask them for verification with any personal details removed. However, some blogs will never reply and may block you or ignore you because they don’t have any interest in proving who they are. It’s not uncommon for these scammers to wave away questions or turn off anon asks or asks off overall so no one can ask them anything. They may even turn off messages to further prevent any concerns being addressed and try to avoid suspicion.
—
One thing to keep in mind is how the account contacting you would have located you. Do you have a popular post that’s breached containment? Did you share a post that may be trending or fandom related? Any of these may lead to someone contacting you an asking you for donations be it through asks or direct messages. If your DMs are closed, the account may send you an ask telling you to message them first because they are desperate and then when contacted they ask you for like a thousand dollars on the spot. If you wonder why I suggest limiting your messages, it’s because people don’t like getting these and will mark it as spam. Scammers also do this to avoid public confrontation. But know not everyone doing this is scamming.
—
Another thing to keep in mind is how the ask was worded that the account sent you. Did it tell you to answer privately because they don’t want anyone calling them a spammer or because they would prefer you to message them instead? This is a very common type of scam ask and one that’s unfortunately extremely easy to get and see if you share trending/popular posts. Most often these are asks related to a sick pet by a blog that is only an hour old or a week old if you check the date of their pinned post. If they detect even the slighted doubt in your reply or question back? They block you.
—
Lastly, it doesn’t hurt to also ask questions to the blog who contacts you and see if they can provide clarification on anything you may be concerned over. This can be showing more images with personal info edited out or explaining any discrepancies in the info they supplied. For example, it could be how the images their using don’t match up with their information or how the story their using doesn’t seem to make sense because it’s not collaborating with any specific details they had already given. It may also be the supporting link they supply doesn’t match up the currency they request because the county doesn’t use the specific kind of currency they claim to need. More so if they don’t give any currency conversion rates. You can also check for backdated posts by turning on timestamps and checking the date of the first post if it’s easy to locate and seeing if it matched the reblog date in ‘other notes’. Some accounts will make posts look older in order to be deceptive and make the account look older then it really is.
—
Additionally, some scams are blogs who connect you saying they can help you but they want to give you a check and ask you to cash it or give them your banking information and phone number. These blogs are never legitimate people wanting to help you if your post has links that lead to ways to send support. Their are legitimate people who would help you that don’t ask for personal information using a blog that has no pfp, no bio, and has no posts. Treat these kind of blank accounts as bots. Report them and block them.
—
In closing, it is necessary to research the information you see in some posts and accounts to make sure it is a legitimate blog and not a scammer trying to make a quick buck. Not every blog you see asking for help is a scam account and generally most of them can easily provide proof their legitimate such as having several close friends, a blog that’s extremely old with tons of posts, or provides plenty of information in their posts that clearly explains their situation and shows the images they use is their own and don’t resort to a temper tantrum when questioned or when concerns are brought up.
If you found this post useful, feel free to share it or add your own tips to it! This is just based around my own personal encounters over the months of compiling information.

note to anyone considering making their own community on tumblr and weighing whether to make it public or private (aka invite-only): if you make it public, bots can post in it. making things private may slow down recruitment somewhat, but i think it's a worthwhile tradeoff to avoid bots and other spammers. just wanted to put the word out, especially since i don't think they've yet added the ability to switch between public and private, so you can't just make it private after the fact if the spam gets out of control; you have to make it private from the jump

It will never not be confusing to me that our addresses and phone numbers are supposed to be confidential and private, now. When I grew up with a book sitting on the table in the kitchen that had (most) everybody's name, phone number, and mailing address for my local area.
The phone book still exists. I've had people I met irl wail, "I would have [something], but I didn't have your contact information!!!" Even people my age and older. And when I say, "did you look in the phone book?" they look at me as if I had asked them to do a backflip.
We didn't used to have to set up our entire lives around avoiding scammers, spammers, and ads, is what I'm saying.

I feel so loved lol, also just imagining me and Ghost downing pills in the morning (cause pain ain't the only thing wrong pfft) just like 'cheers?' 'cheers' but seriously thank you, I really feel like people think I complain too much about it so when people let me rant and talk about it esp in this type of form where it's multiple messages (I'm a message spammer in heart, love just sending a million messages about anything my brain is thinking) it just makes me really happy. Cause like I don't really have many outlets for it as I haven't been able to see a physical therapist for my issues just a general practitioner which means all I have are meds right now so there's no progress other than my day to day issues so i feel like people get really tired about hearing about it or me talking about it
(previous post to get what we're talking about)
Well great, cuz you are loved! And yeah, that's exactly how it goes! And when Ghost takes his mood stabilizers he's like "this one's for you lovie". And the obligatory after-pill kiss! It might be a bit sticky and maybe even bitter after all that drug goodness, but it's just as important as pills, you know.
I dunno, love, I feel like if you're in CONSTANT PAIN you kinda can never complain ENOUGH about that shit. And I love getting many messages! It's a conversation. Makes me feel better that I didn't accidentally say the wrong thing too, you know, so we're all benefitting from this :)
Ooof but I'm still sad you couldn't see the specialist, I hope you can some time soon. Price would absolutely get you to the best one he can find; this man somehow avoids doctors himself like plague (pun intended), but you and the boys? Nuh-uh, no chance of slacking or missing appointments or postponing or whatever complication prevents you from going - Price has already dealt with it, get into the car, let him do your seatbelt cuz he's a gentleman like that, and off you go. Even if you have your physical therapy at home (his name's Johnny and even he insisted you go to a real doc no matter how much he likes taking care of you himelf).
Whatever instructions they would give you for what to do at home, though, Price makes sure to pass it down to Gaz, who's more than happy to do it with you. And he'll also probably do some excersises outside it with you too, maybe even get you both in a yoga class or something after you start to feel better. Or just you two in a living room with some youtube training video playing (I immediately went to 80s aerobics classes in my mind and imagined Kyle in bright pink leotard, fuck) or those audio instructions from apps like Nike has (I think?) in your earbuds.
And Ghost, Soap and Price just standing in the doorway/sitting on the couch and admiring the view. Yeah, physical therapy and some soft excersises. For health.

Scammy junk mail targeting the elderly is getting sketchier and creepier by the week.
My dad had his mail forwarded to my place while he was out of the country a few years ago, so all the spammers have his name on file for my address, so I get junk mail targeted at both him and me.
The year dad turned 65, there was huge flurry of attempts to steal his social security number and banking info disguised as medicare stuff, but that's wound down and now it's back to the same amount of junk mail as that addressed to me,. Mine is about the same as it's always been -- mostly predatory credit card advertisements and a few "your car's warranty" things, but his are much worse. He's getting some of the same scams I get, but also a ton of "give us all your info forever so we can see if you quality for a bad credit card that doesn't exist!". And my "get a bad credit card!" things are advertising themselves by making the card sound like a good idea, but his are disguising themselves as offical mailings from a bank or from the government that makes it sound like he HAS to get or even already has the bad credit card. I'm also seeing a few fake bills mixed in.
If you have any older friends or relatives in the US who might be susceptible to cleverly disguised scam mailings, give them a heads up. There's a lot of talk about identifying and avoiding phone and email scams, but I see less re the same things snail mail.
And most government agencies will contact you by snail mail rather than phone or email, and scammy mail can take advantage of that to feel more genuine.

Heya. I’m looking for a penpal
So I’m Liv and I’ve never done this before. I’m looking for a friend who is 14-16 and hopefully queer too. I’m 14, I’m writing a book, I love archery, I’m a theatre kid and I’m in the marauders fandom if you know what that is. I come from Australia, I’m trying to learn French and I fluently speak English. I have ADHD and my current hyperfixations are the marauders fandom and space. If someone’s already responded to this, feel free to also respond :)
I’ll talk about pretty much anything with you. We can tell each other about our days, current interests, ect. I’ll talk. I’ll listen to anything. Almost forgot. Here’s my gmail: livshamdee@gmail . com (no spaces in it, just trying to avoid spammers) I’ll tell you my number and/or social media accounts after a little while of talking

In days of yore (2007) the Transformers fandom tagged all their posts #maccadam to avoid drowning in the deluge of Shia Labouf and Megan Fox. Now we tag #Maccadam to avoid the trans fetish porn spammers.
