CUPID’S THREAD [CONTINUATION] READ Cpt.1 HERE
pairing: kenma kozume x fem! reader 『キューピッド』
genre: soulmate au, romance, no angst just fluff, strangers to lovers, high school sweethearts
Tumblr media
prologue: There are stories told in hushed voices and idle dreams, of invisible threads stitched by ancient hands—Cupid’s gift, or his curse. They say each person is born with a thread, fine as spider silk and unbreakable, that leads to their soulmate. You cannot see it, only feel its pull: a phantom tether buried in your chest, tugging toward a stranger whose name you somehow already know. You never believed in such things. Not truly. Until the day you met Kenma Kozume.
Tumblr media
Winter found its way slowly, like a page turning gently. The air outside the school had gone sharp and white with frost, and even the courtyard tree had shed the last of its leaves, standing like a quiet sentinel over the place your hearts had first met.
Kenma walked you home that evening.
He never said much during these walks—his hands in his pockets, shoulders hunched against the wind, your steps matched to his without effort. But tonight, there was a tension, a rhythm beneath the silence. Not discomfort. Not fear. Something like a question, trembling on the edge of breath.
When you reached your gate, neither of you spoke right away. The city behind you blurred into amber streetlights and distant train bells. You turned to face him, drawing in a soft breath that clouded in the cold.
The thread between you shimmered faintly in the dark.
“I…” he began, then stopped. His gaze dropped, lashes low. “I’ve been thinking about something. For a while now.” Your heart fluttered. “Yeah?”
Kenma shifted, awkwardly beautiful, like a boy caught in his own storm. “I know people wait for it. That moment. The one where you’re supposed to know. The soulmate moment. But I think I’ve always known. From the beginning.”
You didn’t breathe.
Kenma’s voice dropped, barely above a whisper. “I love you.” And somehow, in the stillness of that moment, you felt the thread tremble. Like it was alive.
Your eyes burned, soft with disbelief and knowing.
“I love you too.”
And with those words, something invisible clicked into place.
The thread flared, brighter than ever before—silver and gold, knotted like constellations, and then slowly dimmed into something more tender. Less magic, more memory. It no longer needed to glow.
It had done its job.
Tumblr media
The Kozume home sat on the edge of the city, a quiet architectural poem in concrete and glass, full of sunlight, scattered toys, and the scent of jasmine tea.
Outside, the world knew him as Kodzuken—the elusive gaming genius, Twitch’s golden king of strategy, the man who streamed in silk pajamas and made silence feel electric. His face was on billboards. His quotes were on merch. His net worth was whispered about with awe.
But inside these walls, he was yours.
And you were his.
“Kohaku, gentle, baby—she’s still learning to hold her head up,” you said, smiling as your son leaned over the bassinet, curious fingers reaching for his sister’s tiny tuft of hair.
“But Suki is so small!” he protested, in that impossibly sincere voice only four-year-olds could master. You laughed softly. “That’s because she’s still brand new.”
From the corner of the room, Kenma watched you. His phone rested face-down beside his laptop, unread messages blinking in from sponsors and stream editors, but none of that mattered now.
You sat in a pool of late afternoon light, your hair tousled, a blanket draped over your shoulder, Suki cradled to your chest and Kohaku pressed against your side like a sleepy cat.
You looked up. “What?” you chuckled softly, smiling.
Kenma shook his head, walking over. He sat beside you, one hand brushing Kohaku’s hair as he clutched his hoodie sleeve.
“I think the thread still tugs,” he said. “Even now.”
You leaned your head against his. “It brought us here, didn’t it?”
He reached for your hand and laced his fingers through yours, careful not to wake the baby. You could feel the calluses of long gaming nights, the warmth of someone who never learned how to stop loving you.
“I would’ve found you anyway,” he murmured.
You turned to look at him.
He wasn’t the shy boy beneath the tree anymore. He had grown into himself—quiet still, thoughtful always—but surer now. Softer in the places that mattered. Fierce in the way he protected the life you'd built.
Your heart ached with how much you loved him.
“I know,” you whispered.
And there, in the hush of your home, with Kohaku dreaming beside you and Suki warm against your chest, Kenma kissed you—slow, reverent, eternal.
The thread no longer needed to shine. It had become something else. Family. Forever.

My Sun, My Moon, and All of My Stars {Mikey Berzatto}
Tumblr media
summary: recalling the first time you and mikey met results in lots of soft feelings.
warnings: none. cotton candy clouds of fluff.
pairings: mikey berzatto x female reader
an: listen people. i've visited chicago in january. i said what i said, and i will die on that hill. happy reading!
You’d be hard-pressed to find a more miserable place than Chicago in the winter.
The wind and the cold found creative ways of settling into your bones, often staying there until the May thaw occurred, and even then… Well, even then it wasn’t always enough to drive the chill away for good. While you loved the city's aged and gothic architecture, the inherent gloom that pervaded it tended to follow you around like a specter or an old friend. January wasn't entirely blameless in all of this, either. A month that held only thirty-one days often felt like it dragged on for thirty-one years. And yet, you could never fully bring yourself to loathe the first month of the calendar year, because on the 17th day of it, you met Mikey Berzatto for the first time- and suddenly, winter didn’t seem so awful after all.
“On a scale from one to that time you had to hide in the bar bathroom until I could rescue you, how bad was it?”
You fiddled with the zipper on the front of your jacket, replaying the night’s mostly disastrous second date, and sighed. “Definitely not that bad.”
“I mean, you did technically get a Michelin-star meal out of it, so it wasn’t all a complete write-off.” Your best friend Olivia pointed out, and then asked whether you wanted to go home and pound back a pint of frozen custard, or if you were still hungry.
You eyed the green glowing digits of the clock on her car, which read ‘8:07 P’ and shifted in your seat. “Still hungry.”
“Perfect,” She cast a smile your way and slid the car into drive. “I know just the place.”
You had been expecting Portillo's or something similar, but when she parked in behind the Original Beef of Chicagoland, you were dubious.
“I know, I know. But Benny took me here two weeks ago, and when I tell you I’ve been thinking about this sandwich every day since, I’m not lying.” She led you by the hand to the front door, holding it open for you so that you could wander in first. “I mean, they say you know you’re in love when you go to bed and wake up thinking about the same thing, and for me that’s the italian beef here so, pretty self-explanatory I guess…” Her voice became drowned out in the din of the still-bustling restaurant.
It was chaotic to say the least; a complete assault on the senses. Noise seemed to clamour out of every corner of the small establishment, and somehow the thing that hooked you in the most was the pervasive scent of onions frying in fat on the flattop. Though the restaurant was only open for another hour, it was packed inside, and there was a line-up at the takeout window that snaked around the back of the place.
“Jesus Christ, someone ask for mayonnaise one more fuckin’ time, I’m beggin’ for it. Watch what’ll happen!” A tall, short-haired man yelled loudly, causing peels of laughter to erupt from the line cooks behind the busy counter. The sheer size of his grin, paired with the way his blue eyes glittered merrily, told you that the man was exactly where he was supposed to be in life.
“Order up for Peter! Peter, Peter pumpkin eater! Your orders’ up!”
“Nikki, come get your order, mama!”
“Got one hot and sweet and one dog comin’ up!”
Olivia tugged at your sleeve and gestured to the menu. “You wanna get the same thing as me?”
You nodded, at an entire loss of what else to say, and knowing wholeheartedly that she would never lead you astray anyway.
“Good evening ladies, how are you both on this fine, Friday night?”
Olivia grinned at the man and rubbed her hands together in excitement. “We’re much better now that we’re here, thank you.”
The man laughed at that. “Excellent, that is good to hear. What can I get for ya?”
She ordered two original beef’s and two cokes to stay and told you to grab a table in the quieter section of the restaurant while she waited for the food. While the back room wasn’t necessarily quieter, there were only two other tables occupied, and you settled into a seat by the wall of vintage arcade games.
“Wow, you are uh… you’re awfully dressed up for a trip to the Original Beef.”
His voice had caught your attention first; the timbre of it immediately soothing in comparison to the chaotic din around you. And then you glanced up at him and it was all over before it had even really begun. His smile was so warm and inviting, the complete opposite of the one you had just spent all evening with, and it caused your breath to hitch in your throat. Delicate creases next to his dark brown eyes spoke novels of how much time he spent laughing, and it was all you could do to keep from blushing.
“I'm sorry, I mean no disrespect, you look amazing. I think it’s been so long for most of us that we forget what it’s like when a beautiful woman graces us with her presence around here.”
Where it might have been off-putting in any other instance, or from any other man, you found yourself blossoming under the sunlight he shone above you.
“I uh… just came out of a date, actually,” Your tone was sheepish, but you managed to maintain eye contact with him. “We were at Alinea.”
His dark brows furrowed together in a mild frown. “Alinea, Alinea… why do I know that name? So damn familiar.”
You tilted your head to the side. “It’s a Michelin star restaurant downtown, super fine dining.”
His eyes lit up and his mouth dropped open in a silent, a-ha!
“My baby brother, he’s a chef. Super talented, annoyingly so, ya know? I can't get him to shut up about Alinea.” Silence settled between the pair of you before he asked how it was.
Your eyes widened, and you blew out a puff of pent-up air. “It was uh… an interesting experience, to say the least.”
He nodded and sat down at the table opposite you. “And the date?”
You laughed. “The date sucked.”
He clicked his tongue, and shook his head. “Onto bigger and better things, then hm?”
“How’s your night going?” You asked, by way of wanting to change the subject.
He rubbed at the back of his neck and sighed. “Eh, it’s been a night, I’ll tell ya that much.. But it’s been good. Certainly better now,” He leaned towards you with his hand outstretched. “I’m Mikey Berzatto, by the way.”
You took his warm hand in yours and introduced yourself back. It had been on the tip of your tongue to say something else, but just as you were about to, Olivia wandered into the room balancing a tray full of mouth-watering food.
“Richie gave you yours on the house, on account of this being your first time here!” She exclaimed excitedly.
Mikey’s eyes widened, and a warm smile lifted his lips skyward. “First time here, huh?”
“First time for everything, right?”
“Mikey, we need your ass out here now! This fuckin’ pop machine ain’t gonna fix itself!”
He rolled his eyes and rose from the table with a quiet apology. “You ladies need anything- anything at all, come find me.”
He gave you a small wave and stepped into the main room.
“How many times do I gotta tell you fuckers not to yell all the damn time, huh?”
Olivia turned to you, a familiar mischievous glitter blazed in the depths of her eyes. “Okay, he was cute.”
You shrugged, unwrapped half of the sandwich and took a bite, savouring the flavours on your tongue. While you had been used to your best friend’s antics and dramatic flare for a while now, it became apparent immediately that she was absolutely right about this place. You swallowed your first bite and gawked at her, eyes wide.
“Oh, I know. This place is legendary.”
You ate your meal in silence, and pondered over how lucky you were to have Olivia in your life; someone you could call night or day, that would get you out of a bind, no problem. You hoped with every fibre of your being that she felt the same about you.
“I owe you one for tonight, Liv.” You murmured.
That caused a frown to pull the edges of her mouth downward. “You definitely don’t. But you do owe it to yourself to get back on the horse, so I think you should ask Mikey out.”
“Ha! You’re joking.”
She passed a napkin over her mouth and shook her head. “Not at all. Tell him we’re going to Kingston Mines tomorrow night and see if he wants to meet us there.”
It had taken you until the end of the meal to pluck up enough courage to do as you were told. Mikey was at the other end of the room stocking napkins when you approached him.
“So, your first time. How was it?”
You cleared your throat. “Uh, it was incredible. You won't be able to keep me away, from now on."
Mikey’s laughter, and the small smile that followed it, warmed the ice around your heart, and gave you the confidence you needed to continue on. “Hey listen- Olivia and I are headed to Kingston Mines tomorrow night for drinks, and I was wondering if you’d like to join us?”
Mikey’s smile faltered slightly. “Uh- shit, tomorrow night?”
You nodded.
“I’m stuck here tomorrow night, until 11 at least but-
You shook your head. Of course he was. He owned the place.
“No problem, I totally get it.”
He shook his head. “No, what I’m saying is that I’d like to come. I want to. I can be there around 11:15 if that works?”
Holy shit.
“Yeah, that absolutely works.”
Mikey grinned to himself and reached out to take your hand again. “It’s a date, then.”
~
Mikey’s eyes opened, and a small smile lifted the corners of his lips.
“What's goin' on in that beautiful head of yours, baby? You’re lookin’ at me like I hung the moon.”
You brought the back of his tanned hand to your lips and kissed it. “Because you did. You hung my moon.” He leaned in to your touch, craving more of it always. “I’m thinking about the night we first met.”
“A good night indeed. I’ll never forget the way you looked in that dress and your leather jacket,” He chuckled softly, the sound of it reverberating deep in your chest. “Never forget the stones you had, asking me out the way you did.”
A blush flooded the apples of your cheeks. You traced a fingertip down the length of his uneven nose, and marveled at how he smiled into your touch.
“You know I love you, right, Mikey?”
He pressed his lips to your hand and murmured an almost inaudible, I know, baby.
He tapped your hip twice, a silent command for you to turn around and snuggle back against him, which you did. Your favourite part about being with him like this, was that you were so close you could feel the subtle beat of his heart against your shoulder blade.
“Mikey?”
His lips ghosted the shell of your ear. “Yeah, baby?”
You swallowed hard and wrapped a hand around his forearm. “Never leave, okay?”
He hummed softly against the nape of your neck.
“Whatever happens, we’ll figure it out together, okay? Just please stay.”
Pressing his lips to the crown of your head, he agreed.
“I love you, Mikey.”
I love you, I love you, I love you.
“Love you too, baby.”

With a final look at Mahavanaranapna, you whispered a quiet farewell and stepped into the unknown, ready to uncover the mysteries of Vana and the secrets of your own past.
As you walk through the forest, the sun begins to rise, casting a warm, golden glow over the landscape. The forest awakens with the first light of dawn, and you marvel at the beauty around you. The leaves shimmer with morning dew, and the air is filled with the sweet scent of blooming flowers. Birds sing cheerful melodies, welcoming the new day.
The path winds through towering trees, their branches creating a natural canopy overhead. In the As you walk through the forest, the sun begins to rise, casting a warm, golden glow over the landscape.
The trunks are covered in lush moss, and vines adorned with vibrant flowers hang like nature's drapery. In the distance, you catch sight of a breathtaking city, its buildings structured upon one gigantic tree. The architecture is both majestic and otherworldly, with intricate designs woven into the very fabric of the enormous tree. The sight fills you with awe and a renewed sense of purpose.
However, as you continue your journey, dark clouds gather overhead, and it begins to rain. You quickly find a large leaf and hold it over your head, trying to shield yourself from the downpour. The leaf helps a bit, but the rain is relentless, soaking through your makeshift umbrella.
To your surprise, the forest itself seems to respond to your plight. Branches bend and leaves stretch out, forming a natural shelter above you, guiding you along the path and keeping you mostly dry. You are amazed by this living, breathing forest that seems to care for you.
Suddenly, you hear a voice in the distance, barely audible over the sound of the rain. "Quickly, this way! The rain is picking up, but I know a cave nearby to stay!"
A mix of curiosity and fear grips you. Who could this be? Why are they helping you? Despite your apprehension, you feel an inexplicable trust in the voice and decide to follow it. The figure ahead moves swiftly through the trees, and you hasten your pace to keep up.
The rain intensifies, but the forest continues to shield you as best it can. The figure leads you through a narrow path, past ancient trees and vibrant undergrowth, until you reach a hidden cave, its entrance partially obscured by hanging vines and moss. The interior is lit by a faint, otherworldly glow from luminescent fungi on the walls, casting a soft light that reveals the cave's surprisingly spacious interior.
"Here," the voice says, now closer and more distinct. "We can stay here until the rain passes."
You step inside the cave, feeling a mix of relief and caution. The figure who guided you here turns to face you, and you see a striking figure with dark green hair, fox-like ears, and a bushy tail. His warm eyes meet yours, and you sense both wisdom and kindness in his gaze.
"Thank you," you say, still trying to make out the details of your rescuer in the dim light.
"You're welcome," he replies with a gentle smile. "My name is Tighnari. I'm a Forest Watcher. What brings you so deep into the forest?"
You hesitate for a moment, still wary but also curious. "I'm searching for answers about who I am and where I come from. The village I stayed in couldn't provide them, so I decided to explore the forest."
Tighnari's expression becomes more focused, his curiosity piqued. "You don't remember anything? Not even your own name? That's quite unusual. Have you experienced any head trauma or other injuries recently?"
You shake your head. "No, nothing like that. It's as if I just woke up one day with no memories."
Tighnari nods thoughtfully. "Memory loss can occur for various reasons, not just physical trauma. Stress, magical interference, or even certain rare plants and fungi can have such effects. Have you noticed any other symptoms? Dizziness, headaches, anything out of the ordinary?"
"Nothing like that," you reply. "I just feel…lost. And a bit frustrated."
Tighnari's eyes soften with understanding. "The forest holds many secrets, some of which might help you on your journey. For now, rest here and regain your strength. Once the rain stops, I can guide you further and perhaps offer some remedies to help clear your mind."
Tumblr media
As you sit down on one of the rocks, you notice Tighnari's bow and quiver. He seems well-equipped to protect and navigate this wild landscape. His presence is reassuring, and his calm demeanor puts you at ease. The cave, the rain, and the mysterious Tighnari all seem to be part of the forest's grand design. You realize that this encounter might be a key to unraveling the mysteries that brought you here.
With the rain pouring outside, you settle into the cave, ready to learn whatever Tighnari might reveal and eager to continue your journey toward the magnificent city you glimpsed in the distance.
As you settled into the cave, Tighnari began to share his knowledge with you, a wealth of information that you eagerly absorbed. "This world," he began, "is called Teyvat. It's a place of great diversity, with seven distinct nations, each governed by a different god and embodying a different element and philosophy."
You listen intently as he continues, "We are in Sumeru, the nation of wisdom. It's renowned for its scholars and the pursuit of knowledge. The majestic building you saw earlier is the Akademiya, a grand institution where scholars from all over Teyvat gather to study and share their knowledge. I’ve spent some time there myself, recently they have been trying to get me to work there aswell."
The mention of the Akademiya piques your interest. "You’ve been there? What was it like?"
Tighnari's eyes light up with a mix of fondness and nostalgia. "It's a place of immense learning and discovery. The libraries are filled with ancient texts, and the gardens are a paradise for anyone with a love for nature. But it's also a place where wisdom is sought above all else, sometimes at the expense of other values."
His words paint a vivid picture in your mind, and despite the cold, you feel a warmth of curiosity and excitement. "It sounds incredible. And the other nations? What are they like?"
Tighnari smiles, pleased by your curiosity. "Each nation is unique. Mondstadt is the city of freedom, worshipping the Anemo Archon. Liyue, the nation of contracts, used to be ruled by the Geo Archon. Inazuma, under the Electro Archon, values eternity. Fontaine is the nation of justice, Natlan the nation of war, and Snezhnaya the nation of ice and power. Each has its own culture, traditions, and challenges."
As he speaks, you can't help but shiver, the cold becoming more pronounced. Tighnari notices and nods into your direction. The firelight flickers in his eyes as he adds, "But there is still much for you to learn and discover. For now, focus on getting warm."
You sit, curled up in the blanket you brought, in the small cave Tighnari led you to. The fire he started a while ago crackles softly, casting flickering shadows on the cave walls, but you still shiver. Despite the forest's best efforts to keep you dry, your clothes remain soaked, the cold seeping into your bones. Wrapping your arms around your legs, you try to conserve warmth, but the chill seems relentless. You close your eyes, wishing the cold away.
Suddenly, you feel an unexpected warmth. Opening your eyes, you see Tighnari kneeling in front of you, draping a much thicker and softer blanket over your shoulders. It blocks the biting wind and begins to chase away the chill that had settled deep within you.
"Thank you," you whisper, your voice barely audible.
Tighnari's eyes meet yours with a tenderness that soothes your unease. His voice is soft, almost a whisper itself, as he says, "Do not worry, about nothing at all. I can't put my finger on it, but there is something different about you. You feel different… What are you?"
His question hangs in the air, filled with genuine curiosity and concern. The cave is a sanctuary from the storm outside, its dim light and the warmth of the fire creating a cocoon of safety around you. The steady rhythm of raindrops against the cave's entrance is a soothing backdrop, almost like nature's lullaby.
You take a deep breath, feeling the warmth of the new blanket seeping into your skin. "I wish I knew. I woke up in this forest with no memories, not even my name. The Aranara were kind to me, but I couldn't find any answers there."
Tighnari's eyes widen in surprise. "Aranara? You’ve seen them? They're creatures that most people believe are mere myths. Only those who can dream, like children, are said to see them."
You nod. "Yes, they were real. They took me in, cared for me, but I couldn't remember anything about my past. They said the forest could be dangerous, but I felt like I needed to see more, to understand why I was here."
Tighnari nods slowly, his eyes reflecting the firelight. "Memory loss can be caused by many things, not just physical trauma. It could be stress, magic, or even something in the forest. I will help you as much as I can. The forest has many secrets, and perhaps one of them holds the key to your past."
His words are reassuring, and you feel a glimmer of hope. The cave, despite its simplicity, feels like a haven. The walls are adorned with glowing fungi, casting a gentle light that contrasts with the storm raging outside. The air is filled with the earthy scent of damp moss and wood, mingling with the subtle fragrance of wildflowers that managed to thrive even in the darkest corners.
You glance at Tighnari's bow and quiver, leaning against the cave wall, a testament to his role as a protector and guide in this vast, untamed world. His presence is both calming and inspiring, filling you with a sense of safety and purpose.
"Rest now," Tighnari says softly. "The rain will pass, and when it does, we will continue our journey. There's a village nearby, and perhaps there we will find some answers."
You nod, grateful for his kindness and support. As you settle deeper into the warmth of the blanket, you feel a sense of peace wash over you. Despite the uncertainties and the mysteries surrounding your past, you know you are not alone. With Tighnari's help and the forest's gentle embrace, you feel ready to face whatever lies ahead.
As the fire crackles and the rain continues to fall outside, you close your eyes, allowing yourself to drift into a restful sleep, your heart filled with hope and determination. The journey to uncover your past and discover your true identity has only just begun, and you are ready to embrace it, one step at a time.

One Piece 1132 talk, my heart is full (and I'm freaking out again)
Tumblr media
Can I just take a moment to comment on how this reminds me of, firstly, the first episode of Vicky the Viking, and simultaneously also, Luffy in Fuschia with Shanks?
Tumblr media
It almost feels like an homage, it's super cute.
But BOY was this chapter so damn whimsical and exciting. It feels like a long time since the Strawhats have entered an island where there's no enemy (aware to them) that they're about to defeat; They're planning for a feast and it's a good time, it feels like a breather from all the chaos happening to the rest of the world lol
This spread is crazy btw
Tumblr media
Elbaf feels like the fantasy land for me. A rainbow bridge where you can ride on (which, you can ride on rainbows this entire time and only the giants knew?? wild), island clouds in between levels, a whole village built on a tree with medieval architecture, waterfalls flowing down into the Underworld, just the sheer scale of it; It's SO good. I'm always in awe whenever they just pan over to an island's first look, and it was the whole island first with Yggdrasil and now this??? If you count Legoland then we have like 3 showings of Elbaf so far, and they just don't miss, they're so stunning.
Also this
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This can make a grown man cry.
Usopp and Luffy, as they look on Elbaf, are thinking of the same thing. They both remember making this declaration, of someday going to Elbaf, a dream made by two boys just fresh out of East Blue and only on their second island in the Grand Line. And they made it. Usopp's dream is realized in this moment, and it's heartwarming that Luffy understands how important this was to Usopp as well.
(In a way, we as readers made it too. and yeah I cried a little lmao what of it)
And as if that's not enough, the narration starts, and halfway in the last page, as the narrator says "my account" that made me wonder "?? Is this someone actually talking?", in the last panel, with a ドン!!as it introduces a familiar name:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
LOUIS ARNOT. LOUIS ARNOT, THE GUY WHO WROTE THE BOOK ABOUT LITTLE GARDEN, THE BOOK THAT NAMI OWNED THAT WAS ON THE MERRY BEFORE???? HUH????
I fully freaked out LMFAO because I've always been fascinated with the fact that explorers exist in the world of One Piece and they just have books annotating their experiences of the islands they go to and Louis Arnot is the only explorer we know of ever that's published a book about his expeditions, and the name drop just caught me off guard it's RIDICULOUS
The way we got introduced with Louis Arnot in Little Garden was with Nami remembering that she had read a book mentioning the island's name, and it was natural that we then got an excerpt from the book in the style of the usual One Piece narration, but here, this was so sudden (no segue, just appeared on a spread) that it makes the last panel with the all black background mentioning 'Louis Arnot' stand out.
I'm not saying that he's gonna appear as a character but hmMMMaybe??? (not likely lol) It's either that or I'm spouting nonsense and this is just a call back to when we first heard of Louis Arnot in Little Garden (which was on the last panel as well!). I still really like the idea of this faceless storyteller warning people of the islands he'd visited.
It also got me curious about Elbaf as an island?? What do you mean "Do not overstay your welcome"??? "Lost time"??? Do people lose track of time on Elbaf, and that's why giants experience time differently??? (👀 I like this theory I'm locking it in)
All in all, I feel like a kid again with this chapter, it truly feels nostalgic in the most magical way TvT
(edit: cause I totally missed this silhouette the first time ive read it, and he has been appearing (assuming this is the same person who was drinking sake when the Strawhats were approaching Elbaf just a few chapters back), but I believe this is. probably Shiki?? the kasa hat is totally hiding his dumb wheel chicken head???? maybe???
Tumblr media
Like I know that's the common theory on this guy but the thing that makes me hesitate is idk what Shiki can bring story-wise, unless he's been disillusioned from being in Elbaf due to this thing Louis Arnot mentioned, or maybe there's just more to unpack from him than what we already know 🤔 curious)
