He’d get so flustered if you did this in his office while everyone is out there. Especially if he doesn’t notice and then steps out to grab you a drink and you’re too hazed out to remind him there is lipstick stains of your lips covering his entire face. Just imagining him stepping into the kitchen and immediately Richie and Fak are whistling and being obnoxious about it. “Wohohoooo, you tryin out a new look Berzatto?” Richie is first to start the teasing and Carmen’s just like what? And then Fak follows with “I like the little look you got going on buddy, deep red is your colour” and Carmy is still fucking lost. “Alright what the fuck are you assholes talkin about?” And then Marcus comes in holding a tray of some desserts and has to break it to Carmy who is so quick to run back into the office, extremely flustered and a little embarrassed.

“You’re back… and empty handed, where’s my water Carm?” You question, laying on the sofa against his office wall and he’s “You didn’t tell me I had fucking lipstick all over my face” he groans immediately looking into his phone camera to assess the damage. “Oh shit, I forgot, m’so sorry Bear Bear.” You laugh hysterically, taking his pouty face in yours. “S’not funny, guys made fun of me.” He tries saying as your hands are still squishing his face and you can’t help but smile at how cute and pouty he’s being. “Aww is my Carmy Bear all flustered that his coworkers saw him covered in smooches, hmmm?” And he’s just rolling his eyes because while it may have been embarrassing he’d never take your kisses for granted.

The shrill ring of the alarm went off and Carmen's hand immediately reached out to smack the snooze. No matter how many years of early mornings he had under his belt, almost nothing would beat throwing himself back in the bed and underneath the covers. Scratch that he thought to himself as you groaned next to him, pushing your face into Carmy's back.

"Five more minutes." you pleaded, though the words sounded rather muffled.

Turning to lie on his back, Carmy readjusted his grip on you and leaned over to press a lingering kiss against your forehead. "You're not the one that has to get up right now." he teased, his voice still low and rough after a couple hours of sleep.

"I know, but it's just way more comfortable laying here with you, Bear." you admitted, tracing light patterns against his bare chest.

Carmy shivered slightly at your touch, but quickly felt himself relax even more against the pillow, letting out a soft hum of satisfaction.

He thought back to the mornings before you came into his life. The dread of greeting the early hours of a new day in his cold and empty apartment. Getting ready to tune of silence and coming home to exactly the same thing.

Of course, there had been a period of adjustment when you first started sleeping over. Learning to share your private space with someone new was never easier. But now, Carmy couldn't imagine starting a morning without you.

"Alright, fifteen more minutes." he conceded, smiling to himself at the way your eyes lit up over his words.

I absolutely love reading through your sydcarmy opinions and analyses, so I wanted to ask you what do you think about Syd potentially getting a new love interest before getting with Carmy (if the writers decide to go there ofc)? They smell like a looong slowburbn anyway, so I'd love for her to get into dating game too.

I would be delighted to watch Sydney getting a love interest before getting with Carmy. If they did it for Carmy, It's fair if they do it for Sydney too. Also, it would be so delicious (pun intended) to watch Carmy be jealous. I feel like he wouldn't be chill about it if someone was interested in Sydney and the affection was reciprocated.

I was actually talking about this with a few other Sydcarmys and we were vouching for Luca, the baker, to be Sydney's potential in-between love interest.

And I feel like Luca would be so juicy as a love interest. I mean, he and Carmy already have a competitive background. And Carmy's coping mechanisms for his panic attacks have been food and Sydney. And if Carmy and Luca are majorly at odds with each other about food, imagine if Luca took an interest in Sydney. There was this really amazing fic that @ladespeinada wrote about it, you can find it here.

But also, I was thinking about another guy who could be interesting as a love interest for her. What if the real Logan Fernello took an interest in her?

I know that Logan is most likely an ex-frat guy who most likely peaked in high school. But like, Sydney's love interest doesn't necessarily have to be written to be that great, we want Carmy to be the endgame for a reason. Let Syd have her fun with this guy, maybe he'd be funny if the show got someone to play him. I'd also like him to be somewhat of a decent person, at least enough for Sydney to take an interest in him.

But yeah, I would love Sydney to have a love interest before Carmy. She's been working really hard and I'd love for her to get into the dating world. But also, I'd like it to sort of differ from Carmy where it is less immature and she wants to be straightforward about where she stands with the people she is with. But also, I see her being less open about it. Maybe the way people notice is if the guy walks into the restaurant.

In Bolognese, there is a sweet montage back and forth between shots of Claire and shots of Carmy and then a couple alternations of this into the mix, they add shots of Sydney working alone, Sydney watching basketball for strategy on the bus, Sydney showing the audience her three swords tattoo.

I 1 BILLION % AGREE! Carmy should not have any kind of relationship, no one deserves the kind of relationship canon Carmy would put people through. As much as I love him and would love to fuck him realistically he’d be a horrible partner to anyone. I think you do a really great job of keeping his really awful traits like the not opening up to anyone and doing things to ruin his own life at the expense of people around him but also making it feel like he deserves all the love in the world.

I have some more comments about the last chapter after reading through it again today! So Carmy was expecting Baby to still be there after he got back from work? That must have felt a little like betrayal to him. I mean you’ve just given over all of yourself to someone you really love and you turn around and they’re gone. It must feel like waking up to an empty bed. As mad as I still am about the old acquaintance thing I can understand, he was probably really hurt after, I would be.

And about The Chain™️, did Baby leave the pendent or was it something Carmy bought himself? It’s sweet either way, if Baby left it it’s like she was leaving a piece of herself with Carmen (like he left a piece of himself with her even if it was only for a short while) and if he bought it himself it’s like he needed to have her with him all the time.

These two are honestly driving me up the wall, how am I supposed to get anything done when I spend half my day thinking about these two and how they could possibly figure their shit out.

not the re-read that’s love! yes he was! they both weren’t in a good mental space (mikey ya know…dead) so the whole weekend was like one big delusion for the both of them. they were just like yeah we can make this work (even though carm admits he can’t commit and baby knows she’s needed in chicago + her job). that weekend was never gonna work out between them because as soon as one of them verbally mentioned mikey (and carm’s absence at the funeral it would have gone downhill) he’s hurt about a lot more than just that, next update explores it more.

I just wanted to say I love your Carmy/Richie fic.

The way Carmy just feel so safe and grounded when Richie has him wrecks me.

I just love the idea of Carmy having a hard day or knowing he's going to have a breakdown, finding Richie, and just clinging to him. Head buried in Richie's neck, fingers desperately grabbing at handfuls of shirt, and maybe even siting in his lap. Because I really need that or them finally sleeping all tangled up together.

I haven't started the second season so maybe it gets addressed more but also, I like the idea of Richie hovering protectively or even nervously over Carmy a lot. We know that boy is not handling life well and I just think part of Richie wants to hide him away from the world and make sure he's safe and happy.

I hope you continue with the fic and also tight more because the fandom needs stories like yours.

aww don’t apologize this is so sweet!!! thank you so much 🤍🤍 if you didn’t notice already i’m a big sucker for tenderness and emotional vulnerability + intimacy in writing whether it be subtle or not and i think carmy and richie are both desperately in need of Tenderness in their lives so i try to include as much as possible in my own.

for me i actually think of richie being the clingier (or probably handsier is the better word) of the two..? richie’s more open and personable and better with people so in my head he’s never had a complicated relationship with physical contact, it comes easy to him and he doesn’t overthink it and probably doesn’t even realize how big of an impact it can have on someone who isn’t as used to receiving it. in contrast since carmy’s always been reserved and socially awkward he isn’t as well versed in it and won’t initiate it but he does genuinely enjoy it and will let himself reciprocate if he feels comfortable enough. s2 gave us a glimpse of just how dysfunctional his family life was growing up but i don’t think he was touch starved as a child at all—i think he grew up absolutely showered in physical contact from all his relatives during family gatherings and especially from nat and mikey at home, i can see the berzatto siblings being really open and physically affectionate with one another growing up but as carmy grew older + started distancing himself from his family once he started pursuing a professional culinary career he never really developed close enough relationships (platonic or otherwise) to receive that sort of physical contact anymore so for years he just didn’t have it. he definitely craves it but it isn’t something he realizes he misses (or at least not just how much) until he gets it again from someone who he actually trusts and wants it from, and i think richie’s good for him in the sense that he’s pretty unreserved (read: annoying) about that stuff. in my head richie’s the one who greets carmy with back hugs and drapes casual arms over his waist when they lay in bed together and shoves his cold hands underneath carmy’s shirt. in the self indulgent alternate universe where carmy’s less emotionally unavailable i love the idea of him being clingy but don’t worry knowing me there’s a lot more physical intimacy in store between them in the future for this fic so you’ll still get your wish <3

i’m actually obsessed with richie’s protectiveness of carmy it’s the type of protectiveness that comes alongside a lot of insults and a slap upside the head rather than the conventional mother henning (although i def think richie’s that way with eva) it’s there nonetheless. i have lots of fun of writing richie taking care of carmy in bcm and trying to keep it as close to canon as possible as well but carmy also has that stubbornness to him about getting taken care of/accepting other people’s help that manages to make him come off as bratty lol

After I first watched 'The Bear' I immediately restarted it again. There was something about Carmy's character that drew me in. Like he's not confident at all and so insecure and I feel like we don't get enough of that in terms of men in media. Or even if they are they have something to compensate for it or just over do it.

My mind then jumped to the café- ish trope and how (in my head) Carmy would definitely fall for the calming presence of the owner. It's a business just like his but different. There is some calm in the chaos.

It all truly fell into place even if it took me so long to get the guts to publish it.
