Second in command of a.. procured..merchant's vessel originally used for sugar transportation, ayume helps keep it smooth sailing, often playing the role of negotiator between other ships interested in their stolen goods. Take whatever chance you get from her, the rest of the crew aren't as nice.

Recently, though, she's been seen on the deck after dark. Are they waiting for something? Or maybe someone?

This had me thinking too- Hoshizawa may not love sweets and candy as much as other students, but I think he'd still love being thought of enough to be given something sweet, and continuing it on to give other students candy too. Maybe if other students continue giving him candy, he starts to keep a list of who likes what too.

Something I've wanted to touch on for a while now was how much of a mess ayume was before UA. look at this kid, do they look healthy to you?!

are they ok? short answer is no.

Ayume looked like this until shortly after the entrance examinations but before term started. Yes they turned up to both exams like this. unsurprisingly, the hair was an issue for the practical exam, messing with her aim and getting caught, which combined with her low stamina at the time definitely hindered her. She did well enough on the written exam to make up for it, barely earning herself a spot in the hero course.

ayume was,,, kind of a hikikomori. yes her surname is supposed to sound similar to hikiko. Because of multiple factors, there was a point where they just stopped going outside and pretty much never left her room, going by the alias 'yuyu' online.

wow look at that poor mental health girl, go to therapy! she just. stopped caring. Applying to UA was sort of a joke to her, even though she's always wanted to be a hero, she was surprisingly apathetic until they received confirmation about her exam results. Since student / tutor meetings are a thing I'm assuming she had one with Sato pre-start of term just to discuss courses and things, and it got ayume out of that apathy she'd been in for a while.

Since they looked so different in class to everyone's first impressions, I imagine some people that were in the exam with them just completely didnt recognise her on the first day of term.

Sometimes ayume gets bad days where they feel the need to withdraw again, which is where the two phones comes in. one number is only given to a few people they really trust (jetsam, sumiye, and one or two others) so she never withdraws completely and can always be contacted / contact someone.

UA's definitely made her a lot happier.

AYO I HEARD ACTOR AU???

- she's a trained contortionist! A lot of her previous roles involved paranormal horror movies, usually as someone possessed, and she's very proud of her abilities. Not everyone can chase people down spiderwalking! especially with their knees inverted!

-ayume's role is definitely a breath of fresh air for her, less prosthetics and makeup, though she's definitely getting used to the neon pink contacts.

- they also occasionally do mocap work! She cameos as a nomu once or twice, later in the series.

-unsurprisingly, a lot of the candy she has in scenes are props. they have taken a bite out of prop candy before. No, nobody's letting them live it down.

- her aim is atrocious, shes glad ayume's quirk is all CGI.

- she jokes about how many wigs there are for her role, and how little they get used! She shared a video on social media which had a fully black one in the background, and the fans went crazy over it.

- definitely more of a joker on set, she'll mess around off set to make people laugh.

- steals snacks from the buffet constantly
