Have you ever imagined a needy, desperate alpha in rut, so overwhelmed by pleasure that they pass out while their omega rides them? Their omega, still eagerly bouncing on their cock, only realizes their adorable, pathetic alpha has blacked out from the sheer intensity of it all

The air in the shared bedroom was thick with the unmistakable scent of rut, a deep musk that made your knees weak and your body hyper-aware of San sprawled on the bed beneath you. His hands twitched at his sides, fingers clenching and unclenching the sheets like he was holding on for dear life. The poor alpha was in shambles—his skin glistened with sweat, hair sticking to his forehead in damp, messy strands. His usual confident smirk was nowhere to be seen, replaced by glassy, half-lidded eyes and swollen lips parted in desperate pants.
San was in a full rut, and it was absolutely wrecking him.
You, on the other hand, were thriving. As an omega, you knew your heat would hit soon, but right now, you weren’t the one shaking like a leaf. No, that was all San. You felt a little bad for him—his rut always hit like a freight train. And this time, he’d stubbornly tried to resist it until he couldn’t anymore, probably because he didn’t want to admit just how much he needed you. Now, his body was paying the price, teetering on the edge of complete meltdown.
“Y/N,” he groaned, voice hoarse and barely audible. His hips jerked up weakly, chasing your warmth even though you weren’t touching him yet. “Please, I can’t… I need…”
You tilted your head, pretending to be oblivious, even as the ache between your thighs pulsed in response to his desperation. “What is it, Sannie? Use your words, baby.”
He growled, low and shaky, baring his teeth at you like a cornered animal. His chest heaved as he tried to find the strength to argue, but the second your hand trailed over his bare stomach, the fight drained out of him. His head thudded back against the pillows, and he let out a broken whine that made you clench around nothing.
“Need you,” he finally whispered. “Need you so bad, ‘mega. Please.”
That’s all it took for you to climb onto the bed, straddling his lap and grinding down just enough to tease him. His cock, already hard and leaking, twitched against your soaked panties, and the pathetic sound he let out was music to your ears. He looked like he was going to cry from the teasing alone, his rut-fogged brain unable to handle the smallest bit of denial.
“Poor thing,” you cooed, running your fingers through his damp hair. “You’ve been so good for me, holding back like this. But you don’t have to do that anymore, okay? Just let me take care of you.”
You kissed him as you lined him up with your entrance, swallowing his moan as you slowly sank down onto him. The stretch burned in the best way, and you couldn’t help the shuddering gasp that escaped you when he bottomed out. San’s hands shot up to grip your hips, his claws lightly digging into your skin as his body tried to move on its own. He was already trembling again, and you knew it wouldn’t take much to send him over the edge.
“Fuck, you feel… so good,” he slurred, his head lolling to the side like he could barely keep it upright. “‘Mega, can’t last… I…”
“It’s okay,” you murmured, leaning down to kiss his jaw. “Just let it happen. You can cum as much as you need to.”
His eyes widened briefly at your words, and then he was gone. His whole body jerked as he came hard, burying himself as deep as he could while a guttural groan ripped from his chest. You stayed still, letting him ride it out, but the second his grip on your hips loosened, you started moving again.
San’s eyes snapped open, panic flashing across his face. “Wait, wait—”
You cut him off with a kiss, slow and deliberate, as you rocked your hips against him. His words turned into desperate whines, his overstimulated cock twitching inside you as he tried to keep up. The haze of his rut made it impossible for him to think straight, and you could tell he was teetering on the edge of another orgasm already.
“You’re doing so well,” you praised, running your nails lightly down his chest. “So good for me, Sannie. My perfect alpha.”
He let out a choked sob, his hands weakly tugging at your hips to slow you down, but you weren’t having it. You planted your hands on his chest and started bouncing in earnest, chasing your own release while he fell apart beneath you. His eyes rolled back, and his breathing turned shallow, but you were too focused on the way his cock filled you so perfectly to notice at first.
It wasn’t until his hands slipped from your hips and flopped onto the bed that you realized something was wrong. You paused mid-thrust, staring down at him.
“San?”
Nothing. His head was tilted to the side, mouth slightly open as soft snores escaped him. His whole body was slack, completely and utterly passed out. You blinked, your heart pounding in both panic and… something else. The sight of your alpha—so desperate and needy that he’d literally blacked out from the pleasure—was doing things to you that you didn’t want to examine too closely.
“You’ve gotta be kidding me,” you muttered, shaking your head. But then you looked down at where you were still connected, and the wave of arousal that hit you was too strong to ignore.
You started moving again, slower this time, savoring every inch of him as you rode him to your own release. The way his cock twitched inside you, even in his unconscious state, sent you spiraling faster than you’d expected. You bit down on your lip, trying to stay quiet as your walls fluttered around him, the pleasure rolling through you in waves.
As your climax ebbed, you let yourself collapse onto his chest, feeling his steady heartbeat beneath your cheek. He stirred slightly at the movement, a soft groan escaping him, but he didn’t wake. His hands twitched, and you couldn’t help but smirk at how utterly wrecked he looked. His lips were still parted, face relaxed in a way you rarely saw outside of his ruts.
You shifted carefully, sliding off of him and wincing at the mess you’d both made. San murmured something incoherent in his sleep, his brows furrowing for a moment before smoothing out again. You leaned down to press a gentle kiss to his forehead, brushing his damp hair back with tender fingers.
“Good boy,” you whispered, your voice soft. “Sleep tight, Sannie.”
After cleaning yourself up, you returned to the bed, curling up beside him. His scent enveloped you, warm and comforting despite the lingering haze of rut. You traced idle patterns on his chest, your mind already wandering to the days ahead. If this was how his rut started, you couldn’t wait to see how it ended.

A history of COVID-19 can double the risk of heart attack, stroke or death according to new research led by Cleveland Clinic and the University of Southern California.
The study found that people with any type of COVID-19 infection were twice as likely to have a major cardiac event, such as heart attack, stroke or even death, for up to three years after diagnosis. The risk was significantly higher for patients hospitalized for COVID-19 and more of a determinant than a previous history of heart disease.
Further genetic analysis also revealed individuals with a blood type other than an O (such as A, B or AB) were twice as likely to experience an adverse cardiovascular event after COVID-19 than those with an O-blood type.
Published in Arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis and Vascular Biology, the researchers used UK Biobank data from 10,005 people who had COVID-19 and 217,730 people who did not get infected between February to December 2020.
"Worldwide over a billion people have already experienced COVID-19. The findings reported are not a small effect in a small subgroup," said co-senior study author Stanley Hazen, M.D., Ph.D., chair of Cardiovascular and Metabolic Sciences in Cleveland Clinic's Lerner Research Institute and co-section head of Preventive Cardiology. "The results included nearly a quarter million people and point to a finding of global health care importance that promises to translate into a rise in cardiovascular disease globally."
Certain genetic variants are already linked to coronary artery disease, heart attack and COVID-19 infection. The researchers completed a genetic analysis to see if any of these known genetic variants contribute to elevated coronary artery disease risk after COVID-19.
None of the known genetic variants were drivers of the enhanced cardiovascular events observed post COVID-19. Instead, the data highlighted an association between elevated risk and blood type.
Previous research has shown that people who have A, B or AB blood types were also more susceptible to contracting COVID-19.
"These findings reveal while it's an upper respiratory tract infection, COVID-19 has a variety of health implications and underscores that we should consider history of prior COVID-19 infection when formulating cardiovascular disease preventive plans and goals," said Dr. Hazen.
"The association uncovered by our research indicates a potential interaction between the virus and the piece of our genetic code that determines blood type and signals the need for further investigation," said Dr. Hazen. "A better understanding of what COVID-19 does at the molecular level may potentially teach us about pathways linked to cardiovascular disease risk."
Hooman Allayee, Ph.D., of USC's Keck School of Medicine, was co-senior author of the paper.
"Our data suggesting that risk of heart attacks and strokes was especially higher among COVID-19 patients with A, B, or AB blood types has significant clinical implications," Dr. Allayee said.
"Given our collective observations and that 60% of the world's population have these non-O blood types, our study raises important questions about whether more aggressive cardiovascular risk reduction efforts should be considered, possibly by taking into consideration an individual's genetic makeup."
The findings show that the long-term risk associated with COVID-19 "continues to pose a significant public health burden" and that further investigation is needed, according to the authors.

Rindou Haitani A/B/O where reader is pregnant with Rindou's child?
Or
Bonten x reader A/B/O but I don't really have an idea for this one 😔
Title: Surprise! You're a dad!
Fandom: Tokyo revengers
Pairing: Rindō Haitani x reader
Warning: Omegaverse, mpreg, male reader, angstish, reader is done, fluff, ran is ready to be an UNCLE, Rindō is a bit of a dick
🕯️🕯️🕯️🕯️🕯️🕯️🕯️🕯️🕯️🕯️🕯️🕯️🕯️🕯️🕯️🕯️🕯️🕯️🕯️
(name) sighed as he went to the grocery store, a deep craving for salad and apples, fatty foods making him absolutely nauseous. Six months pregnant and exhausted, (name) did his best to make sure that his pup had everything needed for his birth, working full time at his job at a convenience store at the night shift, the pay better than day shift plus a part time job with at home accounting, something he did at the convenience store as there weren't any customers that late, the occasional person buying cigarettes.
It wasn't easy, (name) stressed to raise a pup alone but sadly didn't realize he was pregnant till it was too late to decide and only at 19, the father was someone he didn't bother looking for as he was not someone (name) believed he could rely on to be a parent, the man was a criminal be met at a party after all.
(Name) Was completely lost in his thoughts, wandering the store as he collected the veggies he craved and a few crunchy treats, unaware of those around him.
"Whoa, watch out now~" a voice said cooly as (name) looked up to see a very tall alpha with lavender eyes and a coy smile who looked at the adorable Omega with the round belly "should be careful, dangerous to not watch yourself" the Alpha looked familiar but (name) couldn't name where he seen him before, dressed in fancy clothes that were definitely designer.
(Name) Nodded and continued his journey to eat his veggies, his back hurting slightly as his pup kicked excitedly "yes yes, I know" he whispered as he glanced down at his stomach, lightly shoulder checking someone "you lookin' to d--holy shit" (name) recognized the voicr as he glanced to see the reason why he thought the tall one looked familiar "beans" (name) whispered to himself as he looked at the one night stand he was currently carrying the child of. Ran showed up, poking his head from behind as he looked at the two, glancing at their faces before looking at (name)s mark on his neck and then Rindōs and then it clicked "I suppose I'm going to be an uncle" he chuckled as he offered his hand to (name) "Ran Haitani, I suppose I'm your brother in law!"
"But I suppose it would be better if we went somewhere private, yes?" Ran said to his stunned brother as (name) sighed and walked to checkout to pay for his veggies, going into his side bag to grab his debit card when a tap could be heard as Rindō paid for it with an annoyed expression and (name) looked at him miffed "I can pay for myself" he grumbled, he just wanted to go home and watch his shows, not deal with with this.
But there he was in a diner, sipping his (non caffeinated drink) as the brothers sat before him "so you want child support or some shit?" Rindō said bluntly and (name) glared "if I wanted that shit, do you think I wouldn't have gone looking for you sooner?" (Name) Barked back and Ran laughed at the two "so why'd ya keep it?" Ran asked simply, the two brothers weren't exactly struggling for money after all "...I didn't realize I was pregnant till it was too late" (name) said softly "it's harder to know if your pregnant as a male Omega, we don't have periods so if we don't show symptoms we won't know" his voice trembled as he held his stomach and felt the kicks.
"You don't have to worry, we are fine... I have things handled" (name) didn't need his hand outs or anything like that, he was a big boy after all. "You're parents supporting you or something?" Ran asked, the Omega was awful young, Rindō mentioning the person who claimed him was 19 or something "my... My family isn't in the picture anymore... I had to drop out of university because of this... So they kicked me out" that was still a sore subject for (name), thankfully his grandmother helped him get settled into an apartment, she was across the country but still helped none the less.
"But I have things handled! It's fine!" (Name) Said seriously, as if he was trying to convince himself that it was actually as he said but the brothers didn't seem convinced "I have a job, I have a place and I have a space set up for my pup" he said seriously and looked at Rindō "don't worry, you won't have to be inconvenienced with child support because I don't need it"
"Do you know the gender of my little niece of nephew?" Ran asked, disregarding his brother completely as he looked at the bump curiously, he was definitely excited to be in the pups life as Rindō glared at his brother "how do we know it's mine?" Rindō wasn't about to go thinking he's a father if the kid wasn't his after all "Rindō, before we had sex I was a virgin" (name) said simply as he looked at him "do you think I would want to willingly put a target on my kids back because it would be so great to get knocked up by a gangster?!" He whispered the last bit as he glared at Rindō "it doesn't even matter! You're clearly not interested in being in my daughter's life and frankly I don't need you! Now I'm going to go home, goodbye Rindō Haitani" (name) said coldly and took his groceries before promptly leaving.
It was a few seconds before Ran looked at his brother "you wanna follow him don't you?" He said smugly and Rindō grumbled "I gotta make sure he doesn't die or some shit"
Ran cackled as they left the diner to look for the angry waddling pregnant Omega, spotting him turn a corner and the two booked it to trail him, people getting out of their way as they followed him.
A tiny house in a forgotten spot of Roppongi, old houses going form incredibly cheap these days and with the supposed help of his grandmother it would make sense he would have this.
(Name) Sighed as he walked inside his house, a labor of love that he's been putting in and making it perfect for his pup, many things thrifted and found cheap and with the monthly cheques from his grandmother helping immensely with this, soon he won't need those cheques but for now he will take what he can get.
What he didn't know was two alphas were currently getting his address down on their phones, despite Rindō being an ass, he wasn't about to let the dam to his children be living in such a shit box in his eyes.
And ran was ordering baby gifts and Omega gifts, having the time of his life.

(subjectively, non comprehensively) reviewing chinese input methods
for reasons which still bewilder me some days, it seems that i have, over four years and the study of two chinese topolects, shuffled through trying/using a fair few input methods (IMEs) for writing chinese on a device. since i'm currently procrastinating at work, let's go through them!
(note: this is all from the perspective of a native english speaker and semi-fluent cantonese + mandarin speaker who learned to read/write chinese later in life. people who grew up writing in chinese will probably have differing opinions on things like ease of learning.)
i've split the following list into 3 categories: phonetic/sound-based IMEs specific to putonghua, ones specific to cantonese, and then shape-based IMEs, which can be used regardless of spoken topolect.
phonetic-based IMEs (putonghua):
hanyu pinyin (漢語拼音) - probably the most well known IME on this entire list, given that pinyin is the romanization standard for putonghua in many places, and both native speakers on the chinese mainland and non-native putonghua speakers learn it. romanization-based IMEs tend to be quick to pick up, because after learning the rules of the romanization scheme, all you need is basic skill with a QWERTY keyboard. pinyin in particular is easy enough to cross over to for english speakers, as many of the represented sounds correspond.
pinyin is the first IME on this list i learned, and is for now still my default for writing putonghua on both my phone and computer, as i'm still quickest typing in latin alphabet. however, one frustration i've had over the years (and this applies to more than one IME on this list) is that the lack of specificity when typing makes it a bit clumsy when dealing with rarer characters. chinese has a lot of homophones. typing something like 'yu' and then having to scroll endlessly through the selection menu can get frustrating.
bopomofo (ㄅㄆㄇㄈ/注音符號) - bopomofo is a phonographic script used for inputting characters and annotating pronunciations, invented during the chinese republic era and now primarily used in taiwan. each symbol corresponds to one possible part of a syllable in putonghua, e.g. b-, zh-, -ang, etc. these are typed to form full syllables and therefore words. although typing in bopomofo requires a bit of mental recaliberation in how sounds can be visualized, if one is used to pinyin, it's overall not difficult to cross over to. the sounds of pinyin can be mapped fairly straightforwardly onto the bopomofo script. it took me about 2-3 days to get used to typing with it.
i really like bopomofo, and if i didn't frequently write in both putonghua and cantonese, i would probably make this my default input method. not needing to type out each latin letter of a syllable makes bopomofo faster to use than pinyin once you're used to it, and bopomofo has the addition of tone indicators on its keyboard. being able to specify a character's tone when typing can vastly cut down on the amount of menu scrolling one has to do. the only personal downside i've found is that bopomofo uses the overhead number row as well as a few punctuation keys to input its symbols, which can make it feel rather spread out on a regular keyboard if you have smaller hands.
Tumblr media
phonetic-based IMEs (cantonese):
firstly: cantonese does not have a broadly accepted romanization or phonetic IME on the level of what pinyin is to putonghua. there are multiple romanization schemes floating around and different ones may be used in different contexts (official names, classrooms, etc), but many native cantonese speakers don't learn them and instead use shape-based IMEs. using IMEs like the following should be more common among non-native cantonese speakers/learners who had need to learn a romanization scheme.
jyutping (粵拼) - this was developed by the linguistic society of hong kong, and has become a standard for romanizing cantonese in some classrooms and learning texts. i was taught jyutping in my university classes, and it's currently my primary method for writing in cantonese. you probably wouldn't see things like place names transcribed in jyutping, but for the sake of learning to pronounce new characters or inputting, i find it's very accurate at transcribing sounds. i believe it's also easy for putonghua speakers to cross over into using.
however, the way some sounds are transcribed may take some getting used to; for example, an equivalent sound to 'yu' in pinyin/putonghua would be 'jyu' in jyutping, and 'lan' would be transcribed as 'laan'. also, jyutping (and this goes for yale as well) being a romanization without tone specificity falls prey to the same weakness as pinyin, which is the endless scrolling for lesser-used characters.
yale (耶魯) - yale is still a default for transcribing cantonese in many places, and predates jyutping as a well-used romanization. you'll definitely see it for transcribing cantonese in older texts, and it lines up more with how you might see place and individuals' names romanized.
i don't know exactly how many people out there are using it as an IME. at least android offers it as on google keyboards though, so i assume there's some usage. overall however, i find jyutping a more phonetically accurate system. when i was using yale romanization for classes i also found its way of marking tone numbers to be more finnicky.
shape-based IMEs:
on to IMEs which do not rely on phonetic input! these can be more common for chinese speakers who have need to write in more than one topolect, or for those who don't use/learn romanization systems. this gives users of shape-based IMEs an advantage in not needing to switch keyboards between languages, but the learning curve on average is quite a bit steeper than for phonetic IMEs. if you can't recall the components/radicals or stroke order of a character (character amnesia), you won't be able to write. as a result, you'll absolutely see more native chinese speakers using these IMEs, as opposed to non-native learners. however, if you're one of the latter and want to level up your character recognition, maybe it would be a fun challenge to learn one of these.
cangjie (倉頡) - one of the more well-known shape based IMEs, cangjie is more common for people in areas where traditional chinese is used (hong kong, macau, and taiwan), although the newer version allows you to write in simplified as well. cangjie uses a system of 24 character/radical keys (+ 2 special keys), each mapping onto a letter on a qwerty keyboard. each radical represents both itself and an assigned number of possible shapes found in chinese characters. writing is done by inputting these radicals in a specific order, which together builds characters. once you're used to it, cangjie is fast, with any given character requiring a minimum of 1 keypress and maximum of 5 (most are 4), and writing characters out through radicals means that each combination of keys will have only ~2 possible resulting characters, maximum. i'm in the midst of teaching myself cangjie, and i'm having a lot of fun with it. i hope it (or sucheng) will eventually replace both pinyin and jyutping for writing chinese in my daily life.
however, a lot of people consider cangjie a beast to learn. aside from remembering which characters represent which strokes/shapes, cangjie does not break down characters in the same order or logic as handwritten strokes. for example, 里 in cangjie is 田 + 土, and 過 is 卜 + 月 + 月 + 口, with the radical for 'walk' being put down first. that's not how you'd handwrite either of those characters. learning cangjie requires learning a different writing order that you won't find anywhere else. cangjie also has some additional rules for input that can make starting off rather confusing, and there aren't quite as many english-language resources for it online.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
sucheng (速成) - sucheng is a modified, simplified version of cangjie, which only requires the user to input the first and last radicals of a character before selecting it from a menu. it can mean a little more character scrolling, but it cuts down on typing time and needing to memorize the more complicated rules of cangjie. for this reason, a lot of people favour using sucheng. initially i set out to learn sucheng, but after trying it out decided to go back and learn the logic of full cangjie first. i might end up switching to sucheng in the future, we'll see.
wubihua (五筆畫) - wubihua is a very simple system that can be used on a regular number keypad, and relies on written stroke order. each key represents a directional stroke, and these are pressed in sequence to "write" out characters. some people consider this a fast writing method, especially if you're using simplified chinese, as most wubihua users are— traditional can get complicated due to the extra strokes involved. the fact that wubihua doesn't require a full qwerty keyboard also makes it less complex to work with.
i tried learning wubihua some time back, but as a personal difficulty, i wasn't able to fully visualize stroke order and translate that to pressing keys on a numberpad. if anyone writing with wubihua sees this, let me know your thoughts on it please!
Tumblr media
handwriting (手寫) - probably the most technically straightforward shape-based IME. if you have a smartphone, you can just handwrite characters with their usual stroke order, no memorization of other systems needed. a lot of people do write this way today, and you can be fast if you're used to handwriting. smartphones are also intelligent enough to course correct for you if you make a writing error. i do prefer typing IMEs myself, but i keep a handwriting keyboard on my phone for searching up characters whose pronunciation i don't know/can't guess.
bonus:
voice-to-text - speaking can be quicker and simpler than any writing/typing method, so i know people who write chinese with voice-to-text wherever possible. chinese people also loooooove texting via voice recording for similar reasons. i don't do this often, but if i'm very tired and my brain isn't thinking very well i'll use this method.
of course, there are many more ways of inputting chinese out there (wubi, dayi, zhengma, shuangpin, etc) which you can check out if you want, this was just me writing down thoughts on the ones i myself have attempted to use/do use in everyday life. if you made it all the way down here, i hope you found it interesting, or learned something new. thanks for reading!

Hubble's Andromeda Galaxy Mosaic Image Credit: NASA, ESA, Hubble Mission, B. F. Williams (Univ Washington), Z. Chen (Univ Washington), L. C. Johnson (Northwestern), Processing; Joseph DePasquale (STScI)
Explanation: The largest photomosaic ever assembled from Hubble Space Telescope image data is a panoramic view of our neighboring spiral Andromeda Galaxy. With 600 overlapping frames assembled from observations made from July 2010 to December 2022, the full Hubble Andromeda Galaxy mosaic spans almost six full moons across planet Earth's sky. A cropped version shown above is nearly two full moons across and partially covers Andromeda's core and inner spiral arms. Also known as M31, the Andromeda Galaxy is 2.5 million light-years away. That makes it the closest large spiral galaxy to our own Milky Way. Our perspective on the spiral Milky Way is anchored to the view from the location of the Sun, a star found within the Milky Way's galactic disk. But Hubble's magnificent Andromeda mosaic offers an expansive view of a large spiral galaxy from the outside looking in. Hubble's comprehensive, detailed data set extending across the Andromeda Galaxy will allow astronomers to make an unprecedented holistic exploration of the mysteries of spiral galaxy structure and evolution.

14. ITMF ask, I’m looking for any golden core fix it fics. (with minimal to no JC bashing plz) I’ve looked through the comp and it doesn’t clearly separate fix-its, golden-core revels and golden-core fix its. And some authors don’t explicitly tag a golden-core fix-it or wwx getting a new core as explicitly that, sometimes they just leave it tagged as a fix-it and it’s missed. (If you don’t know, I made characters design based on each color. One of those characters, Nikklas (based on the color grey), is from another univers where something happened that mutated some animals, insects, objects, etc. So, I made some creatures design and made up some description of them.
Also, in that univers, they use another language that I also made up. It’s based on french, but without any conjugation, gender, the letters C and H, etc. So, I wrote the description in that language because I wanted to make every design look like it was from a grimoire or an encyclopedia of all those creatures.)

This month is starting off with a huge spread of books! There's something for just about everyone here. Which books are on your TBR list?
Celestial Monsters (The Sunbearer Duology #2) by Aiden Thomas Feiwel & Friends
Teo never thought he could be a Hero. Now, he doesn’t have a choice. The sun is gone, the Obsidian gods have been released from their prison, and now chaos and destruction are wreaking havoc on Reino del Sol. All because Teo refused to sacrifice a fellow semidiose during the Sunbearer Trials. With the world plunged into perpetual night, Teo, Aurelio and Niya must journey to the dark wilderness of Los Restos, battling vicious monsters while dealing with guilt, trauma, and a (very distracting) burgeoning romance between Teo and Aurelio. Once more racing against the clock, the trio are determined to rescue the captured semidioses and retrieve the Sol Stone. With it, Sol and their protective light can return and order can be restored. Now the future of the whole world is in their hands.
God Flare (The Reckoner Rises #3) written by David Alexander Robertson & illustrated by Scott B Henderson HighWater Press
Cole and Eva are reunited once more. A new terror looms as Mihko Laboratories latest human experiments are about to be unleashed. Cole is on the long road to recovery, but he’s still struggling with survivor’s guilt. He must stay focused as he, Eva, and their friends prepare for the final showdown with Mihko. After the events of Version Control, Brady’s mind is fractured, and he can’t distinguish between what really happened and what Mikho made him believe. Eva and Cole may have to face this terrifying threat without him. It’s a grim prospect, but a new discovery might just change everything: God Flare. Will Brady recover enough to join the fight? Can Cole come to terms with his abilities in spite of his PTSD? And will God Flare help even the odds against Mihko? God Flare is the latest volume in the Reckoner Rises series from best-selling author David A. Robertson.
Guava and Grudges by Alexis Castellanos Bloomsbury
Ana Maria Ybarra dreams of becoming a world-famous pastry chef, but dreams have a cost. Her family can barely keep the family business running, let alone pay for culinary school. Ana Maria helps out at the family bakery, Café Y Mas, whenever she can, but they are struggling while the rival Cuban bakery across the street, Morales Bakery, is doing better than ever with their Instagram famous desserts. Ana Maria's only hope is winning a recipe competition, which has a grand prize big enough to pay for culinary school. But then the ultimate distraction shows up in her small town: Miguel, a boy she spent one magical day with six months ago, and who she never thought she'd see again. Ana Maria thinks maybe fate has brought them together again for a reason-- until she learns the horrible truth that Miguel is a Morales. A Ybarra cannot be associated with a Morales-let alone fall for one. But when Miguel offers to help Ana Maria with the competition, she is so desperate to win she can't turn him down. All she needs to do is keep Miguel at arm's length and keep their deal a secret from their families. After all, teaming up with Miguel is just business, nothing more…right?
Immortal Dark (Immortal Dark Trilogy #1) by Tigest Girma Little, Brown Books for Young Readers
The Cruel Prince meets Ninth House in this dangerously romantic dark academia fantasy, where a lost heiress must infiltrate an arcane society and live with the vampire she suspects killed her family and kidnapped her sister. It began long before my time, but something has always hunted our family. Orphaned heiress Kidan Adane grew up far from the arcane society she was born into, where human bloodlines gain power through vampire companionship. When her sister, June, disappears, Kidan is convinced a vampire stole her—the very vampire bound to their family, the cruel yet captivating Susenyos Sagad. To find June, Kidan must infiltrate the elite Uxlay University—where students study to ensure peaceful coexistence between humans and vampires and inherit their family legacies. Kidan must survive living with Susenyos—even as he does everything he can to drive her away. It doesn’t matter that Susenyos’s wickedness speaks to Kidan’s own violent nature and tempts her to surrender to a life of darkness. She must find her sister and kill Susenyos at all costs. When a murder mirroring June’s disappearance shakes Uxlay, Kidan sinks further into the ruthless underworld of vampires, risking her very soul. There she discovers a centuries-old threat—and June could be at the center of it. To save her sister, Kidan must bring Uxlay to its knees and either break free from the horrors of her own actions or embrace the dark entanglements of love—and the blood it requires.
Little Moons written by Jen Storm & illustrated by Ryan Howe HighWater Press
In this moving graphic novel, thirteen-year-old Reanna grieves the loss of her older sister. Can she find comfort through her family’s Ojibwe traditions? It’s been a year since Reanna’s sister, Chelsea, went missing on her way home from school. Without any idea of what happened, Reanna and her family struggle to find closure. Driven from their home by memories, Reanna’s mom moves to the big city. Left behind on the reserve, Reanna and her little brother go to live with their dad. Reanna is hurt and angry that her mom has run away. She feels lonely, abandoned… but she is not alone. Lights turn on in empty rooms, and objects move without being touched. There are little moons everywhere.
One Last Chance to Live by Francisco X. Stork Scholastic Press
What would you do if you had one last summer to live? Nico has always believed in his dreams. Especially the dream he has of becoming a writer; it's the reason why he started taking a creative writing class his senior year of high school. But then Nico has a dream about his own funeral. A dream that feels too real to ignore. In it, Rosario is beckoning to him. Rosario was Nico's neighbor, his best friend's girlfriend, and his inspiration. She was also the girl that Nico was in love with. And Rosario died last year. Nico becomes obsessed with figuring out what Rosario was trying to say to him, and how she died. Surely if he can make sense of her death, he can find a way to prevent his own? But at the same time, Nico's mom is sick, and his brother is falling down a bad path with a local gang. Nico knows it's on him to step up and take care of his family -- but how can he keep it together when, like Rosario, he sees how easy it might be to just let go of it all. This searingly beautiful and hopeful novel is about the search for a life of meaning and creativity, while also accepting the flawed life that we're given. It's a love story between a teen boy and the girl who still haunts his dreams.
A Second Chance on Earth by Juan Vidal Holiday House
Have you ever encountered a book that KO’d you, Iron Mike Tyson style? One that hit you square in the face and heart like some abracadabra casting a hex from an unknown planet? For sixteen-year-old poet and b-baller Marcos Cadena, that book is the beat-up copy of One Hundred Years of Solitude he finds among his late father’s possessions after Papi is killed in an accident. Marcos’ papi has always loomed large in his eyes. So, when Marcos travels to his parents’ childhood home of Cartagena, Colombia to spread Papi’s ashes, he brings his father’s book with him, convinced that Gabriel García Márquez’s masterpiece holds the key to understanding Papi’s life and accepting his death. In Cartagena, Marcos befriends eighteen-year-old Camilo, a taxi driver and fellow García Márquez fan who appoints himself Marcos’ unofficial tour guide. Together, the two boys explore the landscape of Cartagena, from the picturesque streets of Old Town to the poor neighborhood where Camilo grew up. But when Camilo reveals a troubling secret from his past, Marcos must ask himself whether everyone deserves a second chance. Woven through with themes of friendship, family, and forgiveness, this poignant novel in verse is also a love letter to Colombia and to the books of Gabriel García Márquez.
Shadows of Perl (House of Marionne #2) by J. Elle Razorbill
Unleash the darkness. Claim your power. Quell Marionne’s explosive final Rite of Induction to House Marionne sent shockwaves through the magical world, unearthing long buried secrets and her own deadly power. But she paid a steep price: her family and her love. Fleeing Chateau Soleil for House of Perl, for once Quell is celebrated instead of shunned. She has finally found somewhere to belong. But secrets lurk in every House, and Quell’s quest to find her mom threatens to lead her deeper into the shadows. Assassin Jordan Wexton, second-in command of the Dragun brotherhood, must protect the source of all magic, the Sphere. Yet the biggest threat to the Sphere is Quell Marionne—the girl he loved, until she claimed the deadly, outlawed toushana. As the Sphere cracks and war brews among the Houses, can the only way to save the world be to kill his own heart? Now, these two lovers-turned enemies must confront their competing ambitions and conflicting loyalties. Or die. The future of magic hangs on their decision.
The Unfinished by Cheryl Isaacs Heartdrum
In this debut YA horror novel by Cheryl Isaacs (Mohawk), small-town athlete Avery is haunted by the black water and Unfinished beings of Kanyen’kehá:ka stories and must turn to the culture she hasn’t felt connected to in order to save her town. The black water has been waiting. Watching. Hungry for the souls it needs to survive. When small-town athlete Avery’s morning run leads her to a strange pond in the middle of the forest, she awakens a horror the townspeople of Crook’s Falls have long forgotten. Avery can smell the water, see it flooding everywhere; she thinks she’s losing her mind. And as the black water haunts Avery—taking a new form each time—people in town begin to go missing. Though Avery had heard whispers of monsters from her Kanyen’kehá:ka (Mohawk) relatives, she’s never really connected to her Indigenous culture or understood the stories. But the Elders she has distanced herself from now may have the answers she needs. When Key, her best friend and longtime crush, is the next to disappear, Avery is faced with a choice: listen to the Kanyen’kehá:ka and save the town but lose her friend forever…or listen to her heart and risk everything to get Key back. In her stunning debut, Cheryl Isaacs pulls the reader down into an unsettling tale of monsters, mystery, and secrets that refuse to stay submerged.

dc x invincible: inter relationships n the differences
some more details from paint:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
m!reader needs time to adjust to seeing another variant of themselves; m!mark is happy to see that there ARE good variants of him bc lately it doesnt feel like it.
b!reader keeps making contingency plans for their other variant, aka spying on them, n will cause m!reader to become as paranoid as themselves. s!mark has to whisk away b!reader so they will stop scaring people, needs time to adjust to a univer with no kryptonians (not extinct -> LITERALLY dont exist or existed) n no more kryptonite than b!readers extra savings.
angstrom did notice b!reader but they accepted their own deal n made s!mark agree on it (deal is: we help kill eevryone in ur universe - u let us go back to our own)(obvi b!reader later tells s!mark that thats bullshit n obvi they gonna help whoever is against angstrom)
robot didnt show his original human body to b!reader, they found it themselves while looking around about robots weaknesses n found that his automatons have a frequency on which they r controlled n traced to where said control is. found robots human body n wrote it down, fully undetected.
Tumblr media
