Piece I did for a fanfic I'm writing called Fire in Cairo <3 It's still not out but I'm jus so proud of this piece so I had to post it cuz gosh...

stede sewing up one of izzy's stuffed animals!

izzy pokes at stede's side while waving his favorite stuffed animal towards him. the smaller man babbling with what seems to be increasing urgency.

the only real word stede can make out from izzy's babbles is 'mama', the rest of his chatter mostly incoherent.

"what's wrong, my darling?" the blond coos, quickly turning his attention from his book to izzy.

izzy only mumbles in response, furrowing his brow and shoving the stuffie into stede's chest. it's not a very strong shove, but it's more than enough to tell stede that it's important.

the caregiver gently takes the stuffed animal from izzy and quickly finds the problem.

"oh no!" stede gasps dramatically, "looks like we'll have to fix up your friend, hm?"

izzy doesn't do anything other than stare up at stede, waiting for him to magically make his favorite stuffed animal better.

it takes a second for the other man to find his sewing kit. izzy mumbling and swinging his legs from his place on the bed. his attention focused on the blond man who tries to respond to all of izzy's babbles as if he can understand them.

stede sits back down on the bed and picks a thread that wouldn't stand out too much on the stuffed animal.

as stede works on fixing up the small tear, izzy is quiet for the most part. only making soft impatient sounding noises every so often.

he definitely thought stede would be able to do this a little faster. his mama is usually able to do anything.

once stede is finally finished sewing up the plush, he hands it back to the regressed man. izzy doesn't exactly say 'thank you', but he does send the caregiver a smile and a happy coo.
