anyone here that uses incense do you have like good tips cause whatever i burn smells absolutelty awful. i got a bunch of different backflow cones and theyre all sorta okay for a minute and then start smelling like burnt bacon. okayest i got was werewolfs bite but it was still too overpowering... would try sticks instead but everytime i smell any they smell nice then i burn them and its awful :(

How To Use Incense

While not specific to witchcraft practices, incense is something that can add layers to your practice. However, not everyone knows how to use it, so I wanted to make a quick post detailing how you can use the different kinds of incense.

Incense Sticks

These are the most common forms of incense you’ll be able to find. The picture I used at the top of the post is an example of an incense stick! These forms of incense are best used in smaller spaces, such as a bedroom or bathroom. 

How to Use: For stick incense, hold the tip in a flame until it ignites. Gently blow out the flame, allowing the incense to smolder and release its aroma. Make sure that the tip remains the orangey-glow of a flame in order for the burning to continue through the entire incense stick.

Incense Cones and Backflow Cones

Backflow cones are similar to incense cones, except that the smoke flows downwards instead of upwards because they have a hole at the base. Cones are generally best used in bigger spaces such as living rooms due to their longer burning times and ability to double as centerpieces. 

How to Use: For cone incense, hold the tip in a flame until it ignites. Gently blow out the flame, allowing the incense to smolder and release its aroma. Make sure that the tip remains the orangey-glow of a flame in order for the burning to continue through the entire cone. For backflow cones, place them on a backflow incense holder to allow the smoke to have beautiful designs.

Saturday Night fun....backflow incense cones

Today took a very weird turn.

Not for the better.

So I was practicing scream vocals and really totally feeling some progress and screaming my f*ing lungs out to “Vore” from Sleep Token when the doorbell rang.

It was my grandmother's tenant. I was a bit confused because she never comes over. My grandmother does not live far away from me.

Well....she told me that she heard my grandmother screaming for help. She wanted to help her herself but she was not strong enough. The tenant is an 80 year old lady.

So I put on some clothes and wanted to get over to her place to help her when I saw my aunt arriving there. She always buys groceries for her.

I thought, okay let's see if they need me because it won't be long until my parents arrive there.

The thing is....last time something like this happened I found my grandmother barley breathing, unconscious and soaked in blood. I did not want that again. Yes I am used to seeing things because of my own past. I had that selfish thought that it was my parents time to deal with this.

Thank God they arrived.

She cut a tendon on her finger and broke her collar bone and had a wound on her cheek because she fell into glass. She was holding that glass but fell with her face into it.

Dear God. She is one of those humans where everyone is saying that she should not live alone anymore but she does not listen.

I get that.

I was like that in some way.

Idk...

I will drift off now. Meditate :)

Incense is soooo amazingly calming. I love it. To fill my room with a beautiful smell is absolute bliss. I have at least 50 more sticks to burn, along with a handful of backflow and normal cones. I also have a diffuser, and a couple candles, and all help to ease my stress. Would definitely recommend these soothers.

You can never clean that stuff ever btw. All the oil from the cones it burns into everything and gets sticky. But I love backflow cones so....Whatever.
