@stormysprite thank you so so so much for your ask!! likewise, i am SO sorry for not responding until now; life has been super hectic!!

So, if you've seen/heard of EPIC: The Musical, this is a shameless reference to Open Arms 😅 The first time i was introduced to EPIC was actually because someone said they head-cannoned Wars voice as Odysseus, and i listened and thought "oh my goodness this is so accurate!" so when i heard Open Arms, i immediately thought of Wars and Sky. So i guess this is something i have been dying to try, since i thought of it the first time i heard the song!

As for my favorite LU character, i love them all equally, and couldn't pick a favorite despite thinking about it for a looonngggg time lol.

So, I have Wars looking a little surprised here, and you can interpret it one of two ways:

1: Wars is startled because Sky comes up behind him and points out that he is tense (Wars just wasn't expecting it)

2: Sky actually bursts into song and Wars is just like 0_0

#kingdom hearts #kh1 #halloween town #scenery #my gif #not sure if i ever really registered that the sky is red when you're in the town #as well as all of the background noises that constantly play. from snarling dogs to weird scurrying and strange laughter #i had to talk myself out of the idea of doing a quick replay of this game so that i could include oogie boogie's manor #because it's such an intricately designed location. they really went all out on it but it disappears after you defeat him #i felt so unsatisfied leaving it out of this set #so i elected to just use shots from some cutscenes and painted out any characters in the way #saved me so much time and it worked out quite well #i have a couple of other gifs from this world that i'll save for halloween since that's coming up next month :]

Found! Rhett's iconic rust flannel

This shirt has been lurking right under my nose for nearly three years 😭 When I started looking for it, I immediately crossed Carhartt off the list of possible brands because there was no Carhartt logo to be found! Come to find out, the logo was removed from Rhett's shirt 🙄

The shirt is formally identified as Carhartt 104451, in the color R25

When I tell you that this shirt is a weird color. It's much browner in person, but photographs a redder shade, and transitions between red and brown depending on the lighting. Even in my pictures, the damn thing looks like its three different colors lmao

Material-wise, it's on the thicker side. It feels perfect for cozy late fall weather ☕🍂

How to find this shirt for yourself

in case you're like me and like to pretend you're wearing your favorite character's clothes

Unfortunately, she is no longer in production, but resellers exist! :D

This shirt can be tricky to find. Sellers rarely ID it, and this specific color is, again, an odd blend of orange, red, and brown, which means it falls under an umbrella of different descriptions.

I've found several of these shirts on eBay and Depop by searching: Carhartt Flannel + one of the following colors:

Rust

Red

Burnt orange

Brown

Maroon

As always, please take care to vet who you're buying from. Read product descriptions, and double-check that the shirt matches what you're looking for. There are a lot of similar shirts out there, including one produced by Carhartt (identified by a black 'Loose Fit' neck label) that is nearly identical, but has a lot more orange in it.

A post like this is probably overkill for, you know, a shirt worn twice in a cancelled show, but after three years of searching, it feels warranted 💃🌼

zane and kai bonded in the early seasons by discovering new music together. both didnt really have a great access to it growing up (there was an only an old radio or maybe a scratchy vinyl player in ignacia's library and zane's village had no electricity) so they mainly grew up hearing their respective villages' traditional live music. Hearing those 'end-of-2012-mashup' compilations changed both of their lives

#i loveee love love thinking about the implications of everyones backgrounds during the early seasons #cole grew up in the suburbs of ninjago city and also came from a rich (rich?? lou is rich right? hes famous?) family #so he came from the most privileged (in terms of wealth/location) background but not the most loving family #meanwhile jay had a very very close-knit family but he grew up poorer and more isolated in a desert but was still surrounded by technology #hashtag bring back jays country accent 2025 #both nya and kai and zane came from very rural areas (though zanes more rural if i can remember). ignacia had bamboo telephone poles #but you see little to no tech in the rest of the village so its safe to assume the little electricity they do have isn't the highest qualit #zanes village in my mind was a very tight community. It takes a village to raise a child yada yada. i think it was smaller than ignacia too #which adds to the everyone knows everyone aspect #theres also the factor that kai and nya seem?? quite separated from the rest of their village? their shop is on a hill fairly far from the #main community from what i remember in the pilots #i do think that when their parents first disappeared lots of village members stepped up to support them the best they could #but as kai and nya got older the help became less due to a mix of the two's own stubbornness and also the villagers deeming them old enough #with zane i imagine it to be an almost. Everyone's family kinda dynamic. people supporting people #but i loveee the added aspects of like. Different slang that everyone would use or music or clothes #im also just gonna guess that kai nya and zane didnt have access to like? videogames and stuff?#maybe kai and nya a little when their parents were around bc they cld afford it but like i said ignacia doesnt seem very high tech #so their first times playing would be with jay (who made his own little versions of gameboys and nintendos yada yada) and cole (who grew up #with a playstation)#theres also traditions and culture to think about!!!! the rural areas would probably have more conservative mindsets but also more #individual traditions. So it would be very interesting to see what kai nya zane picked up from their childhoods #and how it differs to jay and cole (mainly cole since he had the most 'typical' childhood)#URGHHH im going on such a rant but I DONT CARE.
