Reinforcements for the Back of Beyond troops. After I painted up the Back of Beyond figures a few weeks ago I remembered that I had purchased an individual sprue of Zulu Wars British from Warlord games some years ago and then put it my bits box and forgot about it. So I just painted up the four fellows on the left and now I have a small squad that can try to set themselves up as kings and some distant country.

Daydreams swinging into night schemes last night, a final push into the blue. Twined ropes through tulip poplars, beams bolstered and balanced on the strong backs of friends, cold rain bodies warmed by old fires, woodward reserve and lingering laughs. The beginnings of what always would be; a return to the back of Beyond. With love and thanks for all who have encouraged and dreamed alongside through the last year(s), and more recently sweated and bled, clambered and mucked, worked hard and laughed light, giving graciously of time, perspective, wisdom, and the copious amounts of psyche needed for such acts of levitation @canyonwoodward @max.lowe @canopycrew @d.parker.woodwork @donedoer @isabellacowgirl @chrishenks @francoislebeau @kesharis @mattdanzico, the folks, the sibs, Jeff Berman, Ralph Morgan and the do-it bird #backofbeyonders #yondercrew #treelove

I've heard the phrase "Himalayan in scale" used quite often when describing various mountain routes. Generally climbs that get up towards 10K in vertical relief register on this scale. Here was our first view of - Cho Oyu, at 8,188m (26,864 ft), the sixth highest mountain in the world. We spent our first night in Tibet near this view in the town of Dingri. With the summit standing well over 10K above us wrapped in clouds, and only visible for a brief moment, we focused mainly on our humble dirt floor abode, wood fired hot water, and roof top squatter outhouse that I still claim to be the most amazing in the world. We were damn happy about it all. There was a time when mountains like Cho Oyu held my fancy but it was short lived as I discovered the realities of mountain climbing in the Sierra Nevada of California, and began to extrapolate them outward and upward and sensed that I was not interested in the task of tackling such difficulties. Sunshine and golden granite scrambles was where my heart lay. But at this moment, on this trip, getting to travel around the foot of these giant peaks, my mind got to rambling back—perhaps there are some “easy” ones—the “trekking peaks” I’d heard about? I still haven’t returned since this trip in 2001, but many of the unknown summits along the way continue to hold places in my memory offering a soft call now and again, questioning me as to why I haven’t been back or when I plan to get back to the rivers and valleys, the smoke rising from a distant chimney fading into an even more distant glimmering frozen summits—and I think—don't we always say: "we'll be back"—and we mean it then when we say it, but it never happens. Life takes over, other fancies rise up on the horizon, time is limited. Alas, I knew this was the case then, and tried to absorb every waking minute as much as possible. May you stay slowly, and allow us to pass along your long bumpy roads this time Tibet, Kali Shu, So-so-so-so-so…. . #tibet #chooyu #trekking #kailash #mtkailash #tibetanplateau #endupnowhere #nowheremagazine #backofbeyond #travel #himalaya #highestpeaks #adventure #adventuretime #adventuretravel #thejourney (at Tibet Autonomous Region) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bnsa90pBNvl/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=e7fufo38yc28

Unable to copy the comments for another article in The Daily Mail... The devil is making the menu to copy text on a page not come up after I highlight comments on the comments page for another article on Chris Hemsworth and his (secretly staged) family going on an outing for Chris Hemsworth's birthday. "I'm doing it. I'm making it so the comments don't get here on the page," the devil said. Why? "Because he said it was a tremendous help is why. It said," the devil said. But anyway, on the birthday article in the Daily Mail, I saw two comments on the children not wearing shoes. One comment said for the (secretly staged) family to buy shoes for the children. Another commenter said the photos of this outing was the first time he/she saw Elsa Pataky wearing shoes but the children were still barefoot. There were significantly fewer comments on the birthday outing article than on the article where photos show Chris and the children all barefoot. There were 23 comments on the birthday outing article and over 100 (I think 113 or 116 comments) on the article where photos show Chris and the children all barefoot. "Can you put something else on there," the devil said of this post. "I no longer look like I'm okay now," the devil said. Why? "Because the people don't think being barefoot is okay, but something else. The real reason I'm not doing okay is because I'm not really here," the devil said. Why did you want me to put that on this article? "I wanted you to put that here because I just don't know what to expect, but because I'm no longer here for this. This reporting does something where I'm less," the devil said. Me reporting on the comments on the barefootedness is something where you are less? "Yes. It makes it where I'm not here," the devil said. You mean Elsa looks bad? "No, but yes. Tremendously less, she looks. She looks like she's not here," the devil said. You mean "not here" because the children are barefoot. "Yes," the devil said. https://arlhub.com/aliens-and-god-would-ufo-disclosure-collapse-religion/?fbclid=IwAR0mVyx6OBw2KEDl5vfoxftXf9obU1tNBKbzLJ_vB1UjWmP9cpL1FkJjcAM

As a touring musician I've criss-crossed most of the lower 48, and seen so many amazing places along the way. Yet it's easy to forget the beautiful sights, sounds, and people because we're always on the move, never staying for very long, seeing so much, and leaving so much. Take this image for example, when I look at it—time stops, you feel the slow flow of the Snake River, the haze of a shimmery afternoon across the valley, the changing aspens lighting up like firecrackers along the river bottom—you can hear the leaves in the light breeze. But this was just a roadside quick stop on a nearly 7 hour drive from Sheridan to our gig in Jackson. It could so easily disappear, and the moment was, literally, so quickly gone. And I think this is why I pursue photography mostly as a passion and occasionally as a profession, it's really just a great way to stop time, to sit back and take a moment to appreciate. ... And yes it was also a great gig, turns out the beautiful people of Jackson like to dance to original music all night long. #grandteton #anseladamswashere #jackson #jacksonwy #thatswy #wyoming #wyomingrocks #snakeriver #tetonnationalpark #roadsidephotography #canon5dmarkiii #50mm #backofbeyond #blackandwhitephotography (at Jackson, Wyoming) https://www.instagram.com/p/BnjV0G_AVWE/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1s12984uufopk
