The message on your phone was cryptic but seemed urgent. :Meet me at this address. 13:00 sharp: from an unknown number. You were tempted not to go, as you were not one to be told what to do by strangers on a telephone, but curiosity got the better of you.

You were surprised to find that the address was to a small diner downtown. The kind you get coffee and donuts either early in the morning or very late at night. Not much of a crowd draw in the afternoon. Still, you went in and looked around the fading décor to see if you recognized anyone and who the mysterious messenger might be.

“Ah shit…..”

Your eyes land down the row of booths to see Miho sitting at the third one. Her red hair sticking out vividly as ever and unmistakable, even before she looked up and made eye contact with you. “So it was you hn? Let me guess what this is about.” You tell her as you come close. No point in turning around now. Might as well sit across the table to let her get it all out.

“Can I get you anything?” The two of you turned towards the waitress that suddenly appeared. Clearly ready to take the tables order now that the full party was here. How long had Miho been waiting?

“Black coffee please.”

“Coffee. Double cream. Two sugar.” The younger woman sucked her teeth in disgust, and you turn to her. “Life ‘s too short to pretend to like black coffee kid.” Order complete, you lean back in your seat to stare at Miho. “Well. Out with it.”

“What are your intentions with my father?”

You arched a brow at the question. You half expected her to just come out and ask you to stop seeing Yoon-ho. The two of you had been together for a while, but tried to keep it a secret. When it did eventually get out, as all secrets tend to due, you expected the Vice Guild Master to come knocking with her complaints. Not ask what your ‘intentions’ were. “What is this a marriage meeting?”

Miho sighed. “I just want to know what it is you two are doing. Is this casual? Serious? Intimate?”

“Are you asking me if I’m fucking your dad?”

The waitress nearly dropped the coffee cup on the table as she suddenly returned again. Red faced as she sat the second cup down and scurried away. Miho sneered into her mug. “Must you be so crass?”

“I never claimed to be a lady.”

“Precisely. Which is why I don’t know what my father sees in you.” You jut your brows in silent agreement. You don’t know what Yoon-ho saw in you either. But the two of you enjoyed spending time together and you didn’t like to question when something was going good. “What do you see in him?”

“Besides your dad being super hot?” You couldn’t be sure, but you thought you might have heard Miho’s back teeth crack with how hard she was tightening her jaw. “I don’t know. I just like him. He’s smart. Funny. He’s a hard ass but…deep down he really cares and is a good person. He makes me want to be a good person.”

There was a moment of silence before Miho sipped her coffee and sat it back down. “Ok. I approve.”

“Approve?”

“Yes. I approve.” She repeated.

“I don’t need your permission to date anybody.” You remind her. “But…thanks.” You didn’t need it, but you guess it was nice to have. This couldn’t be easy for Miho. Seeing her father date. Plus, the fact that he was dating someone not that much older than her. Overall, she was being very mature about this.

“Just try to be responsible please. I’m too old to have a baby sibling.”

“Oh, come on. You wouldn’t be excited to be eonni down the road?”

Miho visibly grit her teeth at you. “I will leave you in a dungeon before that happens.” She threatened. Pulling out some bills before slapping them on the table and seeing herself out.

“Hmm….has her fathers temper….”

Best husband and wife in K-drama/series

1. Baek isak and sunja "Pachinko"

Their relationship was so pure and gentle. Yes, at first, they were basically stranger when they got married, but they started their relationship with great purpose. To help each other and care for each other. Isak was an amazing husband and father, loved Noa like his own son, and loved Sunja unconditionally. Sunja is such a dedicated wife and mother. Raised both of her sons while Isak was in prison and patiently waited and prayed for Isak to return.

2. Do Hyunsoo and Cha Jiwon "flower of evil"

Hyunsoo, who constantly tries to avoid Jiwon, starts to open up and be a kind husband to Jiwon. He is a loving father to Eunha, even though he's terrified at first. Jiwon is eager to make Hyunsoo open up and tries to believe in him even when all the evidence points to her husband. Let go of Hyunsoo, who has an identity crisis, and welcome him back when he's ready. Their patience, dedication, and loyalty are amazing.

Even though Changho constantly fails and never wins a case, Miho still supports him. When Changho got framed and went to prison, she never once doubted him. Going all the way, even taking a job at the prison just to support and keep an eye on him. Changho seems like an idiot and a dork, but when Miho is in danger, he will switch and become a terrifying man.

They started their relationship with a lie because of their past. A con artist and a police. They started to grow apart because Miyoung revealed to Jungkook that she was a police officer, and that terrified the shit out of him. And when the truth comes out, Miyoung, who felt betrayed, still tried to believe in him and help him. Jeju Island Raid in DEI

In honor of the great Kristine Larson of the LAFD, who said that in the great emergency of a fire people will still want to see the color of their skin in the people who would rescue them...

Because modern audiences need diversity, I've redesigned the Jeju Island Raiders, a team that only had S-Rank hunters and one woman among them.

I don't have a comprehensive listing of Hunters based on their ranks. The double dungeon raid that made Sung Jinwoo, had many D hunters among them. Of the list I saw, I have no idea how many are alive which is why I managed to list only one D Hunter. This list are who are know as living before Jeju Island.

Once diversity is hammered in every facet of entertainment and art, the world will know heaven.

Island finale + ... this one isn't for the weak

Pardon my french in advance. Of course there are spoilers in here. The blog is called "I love spoilers".

One last memory of Won Miho, a smart, intelligent woman, who went to Jeju island by her father's orders to teach ethics. I loved that awesome hair and fashion sense and self-confidence, determination, strength and cool temper. And drifting demon race in pt1. It's good they brought her back in those last few minutes, at least.

Shall we do this for the old times sake? Here goes.

Island Finale, what the hell did I watch?!

Ok, let's be graceful. The series got me exhausted. Being emotionally involved isn't the best option with this one... If you haven't watched it already and love the genre, expect mess, confusion and cognitive dissonance. Or not, it's fine.

My heart goes to two greatly significant characters. I can't stop thinking about them and I'm so grateful neither of them died by the other's hand . Putting aside both actors' charm, these two characters grew on me. One of them being a deeply misunderstood vengeful killer machine. And the other, adorable goofy exorcist.

Since this two parts story finally ended, it made me think about half-demon brothers and why is it that one of them is utterly evil and beyond redemption in the eyes of our little Island community while the other one is practically absolved of all of his "sins".

Both brothers are trained killers (to be correct, abused since early childhood by Jijangjong Temple’s clan) and that's exactly what they've been doing their entire lives - committing murders. The only difference is:

One of them was lucky enough to turn into what he was supposed to become, according to plan - emotionless killer. Knife accepted him easily.

The other brother's transformation didn't go according to the plan. His feelings somehow never disappeared, pain and suffering destroyed him - he cracked under the pressure just as anyone would

First one believed that Wonjeong can give them their human lives back, his bloodthirst was ulterior motive (and I'll get to that a bit later)

The other was hypersensitive one and could see through the clan's lies. Even as broken as he was. His humanity made him trust Yeomji later on, making them both susceptable to Baek's clan manipulation

Were those two brothers really that different to begin with? Pan brought wounded Wonjeong back to the temple. After hurting her. Because he believed she could save them. By doing so he turned his back on his brother. Gungtan followed him knowing he'd get punished for it, his loyalty unmatched. While Wonjeong was living her life being trained to fulfill her destiny yet having a sense of freedom, boys were chained and starved. She would bring them food, but she never gained Gungtan's trust again - and his hunch was right. She was the end of both brothers.

If there's God in this story, then the moment Pan stabbed Wonjeong and a piece of divine crystal entered him was that God's doing. Pan gained a piece of humanity, by ending a life of a living person, accidentally or not. It never suffocated his urge to kill, but it made him more aware of all the lives taken by the lust demon and then by his own half-demon hands. That didn't make him less of a killer, but it did clear his mind of fog (which made him realise both he and Gungtan have to die in order to set themselves free), he gained control over himself and his impulse to kill - even though his yearning for Miho still made him want to kill her, let's not forget that. He is a lust demon, afterall, which does sound awfully like a vampire, but I'll let it slide.

Vampires, however, often end up killing their loved ones, unless they learn how to control their bloodthirst. I can't help but consider both of them vampires, in a way.

Boy got therapy and it (partially) worked. And everybody fell for him as if he's an angel sent from heavens and his past has been erased. That's not how it works, but fine. Fine. I'm fine with people being there for him. But something is not adding up here, there's still no sympathy for Gungtan. Why?

Ah, Gungtan, the villain. Once a boy who loved his brother so much that he gave up his own freedom/life for him. Took the beatings for bringing Wonjeong back. And turned his back on the whole human race for good. His love was the purest love they showed us, but it's not in the focus, so it's easy to run it over like it never existed. He ended up chained in the dark for years. No therapy. No nothing. Left to rot. Oh but he can't die, because he's not human. Torture lasted and lasted. Then he was set free only to be used again. Was mercy ever given to him in any way? Was he ever given any chance to become something different from what he became? Is there anything this demon-slayer knows of, other than abuse, punishment, betrayal and smell of blood? He is as self-destructive as it gets, there's no turning back from his path of soul torture. Character development inconsistencies are out there on the surface, so let's not go into that any further.

He's a hyperviligant killing tool but he can't stay indifferent towards a little girl covering his feet with her jacket. That was it for me. I couldn't care less about any other character at that point. I fell for the deeply wounded devil that he is. Completely. Why? Because I'm Bob the builder, duh. Because in the real world, where real and often horrible things happen, anyone can become a target of abuse and turn into someone like Gungtan. Often completely unaware of it. Leave out the killing and you have a very realistic character. Psychologically, it's a hell of a ride to get back up on tracks afterwards. And people think it takes a lot to become a villain, they don't have the potential, something like that can never happen to them, so why not wish death upon a fictional character who suffered more than enough for a thousand lifetimes.

I'm not buying any of the moralist-on-duty shit. Leave. Him. Alone.

I wish he could have run away that instant, somewhere, anywhere, before the Baek clan put their magic manipulation skills to work. I wish he was safe and in peace. I can't put any blame on him for what he became. And what he did. Especially since it is strongly suggested he was used like a puppet after they woke him up. His anger was used for a "greater" evil purpose. I can't help but wanting to reach out and get him the hell out of there.

Despite general opinion of the Island community and Mr. Gungtan himself, he isn't that different from his brother Pan at all. He cracked under the pressure, yet he didn't need a magical crystal fragment to sober up and help another abused child, which he wouldn't do if he had no feelings left in him. Pan believed in Wonjeong, Gungtan believed in Yeomji, but neither of those girls could help the brothers. And no matter how much they wanted to live, death was the only escape from the constant hellfire brought upon them. Gungtan needed to escape his untameable urge for revenge which led him to madness, Pan needed to escape the burden of his heavy dirty bloodthirsty soul.

May I add, Miho never sold out Pan, like Yeomji, who switched sides like a spineless creature. Yes, she's a kid and could never measure up to Miho. Her influence, if there ever was any, ended once Baek clan took over Gungtan. The same clan known for their magical manipulation skills. Gungtan's misery just doesn't stop. Once again he's nothing but a killing tool.

The brothers escaped their personal hell by ending their own lives - which is why I'm not mad about the ending. Their suffering stopped, at last. Finally. Their inner demons were swallowed by the underworld. Gungtan's little smile at the end, that sigh of relief as lust demon left his body and he was finally free, that moment was e v e r y t h i n g

But you know what else was everything? Seeing my favourite Island manhwa character coming to life on screen. Finally! Well done, cgi team, well done!

In previous life or death battle, my boy Gio almost died. Ahh, how many times I yelled at the screen for him to just stay out of other people's business but thankfully he survived it all. He is my favourite goofy guy who makes people write witty texts about him. The only priest, real or fictional, I've ever liked and will ever like. Look at this fluffball. Must. Protect. Him. (⁠╥⁠﹏⁠╥⁠)

Thankfully, Johan survived all the battles, which weren't even his own to begin with and which lead me to believe he'd meet a tragic end sooner or later. Ah but that's the part of his charm - sticking his nose in other people's business so we never know if he'll live or not. There would be some ugly crying if something tragic actually happened to him. And just like in pt1, he was left on hold while bleeding to death. This time it was even more horrible than before.

Pan, seriously? Like "brb, let me just-". I swear, at some point this thing turned into such a grotesque show. Plot has twisted so hard it was unbearable to watch at times. But, Johan picked himself up from the brink of death, thanks to his badass powers. Amen!

Despite the fact that finale brought so much sadness to entire audience, either for the main villain's death or PanxMiho not happening in a million years (which I'll forever be grateful for), that final fight was amazing. Writers finally gave us a large portion of enjoyable action. Plus, Gungtan wasn't the end of Johan and vice versa. Honestly, that's more than generous from their part, since Gungtan's downfall was imminent and it all went downhill long time ago, anyways.

Hope they don't bring us pt3. Sorry. I'm done with the massacre of manhwa plotlines and characters. Starred actors were amazing. Talent and looks, you know, everything. Especially absolutely stunning Lee Da-hee. Craaaazy talented and amazing Sung Joon♡ But. Please. No. More. Island.

Well, with too pure for this world cutie, I conclude my thoughts. It's been fun.

I have a midterm in like 31 hours but hm I don't wanna study for it.

Ep 1 (Mar 16)

oh 9 years ago the cult brought Guntan back from wherever he was trapped "place of nothingness"

oof I love young horrifically abused and traumatized brothers with matching weapons, one whose sword readily accepts him and the other whose dark sword had to be tamed

What is the girl even doing with the handwaving and making faint light and stuff can she do something cool now please

this old man sucks so bad. I hope Guntan kills him - his first kill plsplspls

Wonjeong is the most boring saviour of all time compared to all the other stuff that's happening bro. I also don't care about Van and Wonjeong. girls just being nothing but 'the chosen saviour full of pureness and compassion and also naive' is so fucking boring, especially when idk anything about her actual story just how boring she is compared to the hell that the brothers are going through my goddddd and she has no other quality except "I will save Van and Guntan <3" and destiny to create some shimmery barrier thing where she must stand still and wave her hands like be fucking cool or die <- at least she did do that

I'm bored can we go back to current time and see what shit our evil people are up to and also beloved Johan

I wish Wonjeong's barrier creation or whatever was more fun or cool or interesting like first of all the training we saw of her was like trying to handwave thrice as a child and failing and then off-screen she got better by the time she's an adult because she wants to free Van and Guntan like compared to the brothers' stories she got much less screentime and was also boring as fuck like it makes me mad because she's supposed to the main character

so that random guy who was doing something with the knife was helping Guntan and Van be able to escape right

It's too dark to see but it's still satisfying to see the brothers kill these people, especially Guntan taking out the old man

Wonjeong so annoying like build the fucking barrier you buffoon like be fucking serious so many people are gonna be fucking dead if you don't do this and Van so annoying like bro considering having thoughts other than her my god

like am i supposed to care about a main character Wonjeong who can't seal the demons because she cares about two people like bro hundreds more will die

ah so she's trained fighter and can shoot well wowwww so cooool not like it's fucking any use because they just make her have these cool skills that are hardly ever used, so I better see her cut up some demons with the gun

oh true I keep forgetting that Miho doesn't know the real reason Johan's here; she thinks he's the bulter's nephew so she's like oh who's this other Priest you speak of?

Guntan and Yeom-ji backstory? ah I love evil emotionless villain being unable to kill a child and adopting them instead

agh going from Yeom-ji's childhood origin story vs fuckass boring Wonjeong's aghhhhh idgaffff

Is Guntan able to be invisible or something like why did Johan miss him?

I wish I gave a fuck about her powers or inner light or hand waving or anything like wow she's apparently so cool and powerful with her light radiating from her and yet somehow even in this case Van has to break through her barrier to protect her be fucking serious

I so incredibly am irritated whenever I see fuckass Van and Miho and the wrist-grabbing is annoying as hell

what was the thing about fake stone people thing?

this 'protecting' Miho is stupid as fuck, let her create the fucking barrier or whatever or die trying once again

like we have intense scenes of Yemoji, Granny, Johan, Guntan and then dumbassery of Van and Miho so far away and then finally Van coming while trapping Miho

"Why are you showing up just now?!" is so correct of Yeom-ji

like genuinely I'm mad that they wrote her like this. We're on episode 11 and this supposed main character who is the chosen saviour still has barely done anything and we're just learning about some fuckass marble inside her that allows her to have her powers

"If it's possible, it's enough" like okay but what fuckass thing have you accomplished so far?

Ep 6 (Mar 17)

this dumbfuck story of Buddha and the man who killed 999 people is pissing me off so bad because in Islam too there's the vibe that if you commit sins, it's better to be "punished" on Earth and suffer and so that your punishment will be less in hell but it's not even just about killing nearly 1000 people, it's about like homosexuality and then dying as a price or something agh. anyway this stupid ass story from Wonjeong made me dislike her more

annoying that we're in genuinely episode 12 but even still, she's saved from these demons by the Priest coming in with those guns. at least she knows how to shoot so that she can help herself now but goddamn

also the CGI is so bad here

I need this girl to not need saving every 3 seconds like of course everybody helps each other and saves each other from time to time but even after she got her fucking gun from the priest, Johan still had to come and make sure she doesn't die like be fucking serious we're on the final episode

I want to know more about Johan so bad like how did him taking his rings off mean he's a glowing blue being

the ending pissed me off like first of all i literally hate the main female lead (or rather the way she was written) and the main male lead is way too bland to even spark any emotion whatsoever and now you're trying to bait me with season 3 or something? foh

Overall:

Literally how was it worse than part 1? Especially when we focused more on Guntan and Yeom-ji than fuckass Miho and Van? Maybe because of less focus on Johan (I wanna know his backstoryyyyyy) and also just incomprehensible writing/plot direction. Yeomji and Johan my beloveds + Guntan being cool were the highlights. Hated the dumbass cliffhanger ending. such a forgettable show.

literally 90% of shiho's weird obsessive attachment issues come from the fact he's lived for a thousand years and in that time developed a relationship with like max 6 people

two of them being his mom and sister. of the people he isn't related to, one was his mom's new boyfriend (who he wants to eat), that woman his mom saved/mentored (who's memory he erases), a teacher/diety his mom sent him to for magical tutoring (who tortures him later) and that's literally it. and the people unrelated to him only happened in the last 30 years. are you guys sensing a pattern. obviously he has "seperation anxiety" bro has barely left the house without holding mommy's hand✋️😭

contrast that with his sister Miho who has been on screen for 3 chapters total and in that time sneaked out of the house to talk to merchants and gamble (that didn't end well for her but at least she did something) and then the one other time we see her she ALSO instantly leaves the house and when she comes back she has black hair, has found a hot punk girlfriend and a place to live and moves out the same day ??? (also didn't end well but that's not the point)

she really said I'm out 🏃‍♀️... they're coping mechanisms are really the exact opposite. miho gets the fuck out the first opportunity she has (real) while shiho is incapable of leaving (yikes)
