gays are so tragic.
any gay ship, any queer ship in any form of video game, anime, tv show, or movie where they're censored or made by homophobic ppl is so tragic.
the way they yearn to be together, which is shown by actors/voice actors/animators/writers. and, of course, we all grasp at the tiniest crumble, and the fanbases are the ones that recognize them and keep them alive- that is where the couple escapes the constraints, restrictions, and homophobia.
ex. in gi they said they will explore more same-sex couples by labeling them in game as 'best friends'. (kavetham, cynari, etc.)
so, of course, we, fanfic writers, write them as tragic, or even cursed yaoi, and yearning and all the heart-wrenching pieces because there's pain in their existence. they are our escape and something we relate to but we also offer them an escape, making them alive with our funny words and silly au's.
also some honorable mentions of good depictions of queer couples; good omens, shadowhunters (malec), our flag means death, the originals (freelin). (feel free to add more)
also, only pure hatred and disgust at the queerbaiting seen in media (I'm looking at you supernatural). furthermore, gender identities in media are a whole different issue and topic; where is the recognition overall, especially in video games, for enby's and similar?
honorable mention to bg3 for having great body options (trans friendly) and more gender options than the usual f/m.
there's also tragedy in queer characters, who fandoms depict and destroy by ignoring their sexuality, ex. yelena from marvel's black widow who is confirmed asexual. (which pains me as an aroace individual)
thus we write them as tragic and pained because, just like us, they also have to be hidden or censored, many queer ppl cannot come out due to so many varying reasons. sadly, we aren't safe everywhere and have to be careful. media is a nice escape, so I guess we can relate to our sad gays who are so much more like us than we thought at first hand.
dear writers, artists, and creators keep creating art and keep giving them life. we give them air to breathe and the hope that they give us. that is how this relationship with our favorite fictional characters transcends all bounds, we keep each other alive and comfort each other.
this rant was inspired by my mutual commenting on how homosexual my love confessing fic is (here if you're interested).

jingliu and baiheng as that one rooftop scene in mdzs
Jingliu as LWJ, who catches Baiheng (WWX) drinking wine in a place where wine is prohibited, and the events that follow after.
If you havent read mdzs (aka the gradmaster of demonic cultivation / mo dao zu shi by mo xiang tong xiu you should)
--- ------------------------------*-*-*---*-*-*-*--*--*-*-*-*-*-*-*
Under the cloak of the starry night sky, a foxian starskiff pilot climbs atop the roof of a temple in a mountain village, holding a jug of Emperor's Smile. She swing both legs to dangle from the slanted paving of the roof to face the endless starry night sky. This war would not be over all that soon. Might as well drink some wine to pass the time. She opened the jug of Emperor's Smile, held the jug by the neck, tilted her head back and took a huge gulp. The stars were so beautiful that night. Shame that it was on of the few times the starskiff pilot had left to see such peace and serenity that clearly.
Unbeknowest to the skyskiff pilot, she was seen from atop the roof by another. A righteous swordmaster stood under the moonlight, silently approaching her.
"It is against the village laws to drink wine in a temple, or near a temple, which you are." The swordsmaster announced as she dropped to the side of the starskiff pilot.
The starskiff pilot's eyes widened in shock. She had not been expecting anyone to abruptly tell her that what she was doing was prohibited, or really, anyone to approach her.
However, the starskiff pilot recovered quickly, smiling at the swordsmaster and saying, "Jingliu! I wasn't expecting you of all people to be up here tonight. Perhaps you would like a sip of the Emperor's Smile?"
The swordsmaster frowned at the pilot, repling, "Wine is not allowed in or near temples. Put away your drink immediately."
"Oh, come on! There's nothing wrong with just taking a little sip... or two. Or perhaps three. We should all relax a bit, you know?"
"..."
"Come! Come! Have a sip!" The pilot raised the jug of wine, making the glow of the moonlight illuminated her pale hair, and tried to press it to the swordsmaster's lips.
"Stop!" The swordsmaster unsheathed her sword and pointed the tip at the pilot.
"Hey hey hey I get it! I'll stop! But are you sure you don't want a sip?" The pilot stood up and grabbed the hilt of her own sword.
"Stop offering me a drink!" The swordsmaster yelled, before managing to conain herself before she disturbed the ones who lived in or near the temple.
"Fine. Suit yourself. But you know, you really shouldn't disturb other's peace." The pilot snapped, before jumping off the rooftop and away under the faint glow of the moonlight. The swordsmaster lowered her weapon, staring blankly into space as she saw the pilot run away into the distance.
She notices that the jug of wine was left behind. She picked it up and descended from the rooftop. She wanted to throw it away... but realised that she couldn't. So she kept it, perhaps as a little something to remember the day that she met a person who dared to break rules, who dared to live freely, without any limitations set on themselves.
Not long after, they would meet again, and the swordsmaster would fall in love with the pilot's wit and cunning and beauty and all the astounding qualities she brought to the table. She would not tell the pilot, tryng to show her love through gestures instead of words to prove it's sincerity. However, she overestimated the pilot's emotional capabilities, and the pilot never understood her affections, and would go on to think that the swordsmaster hated her.
In the upcoming war, the pilot would sacrifice herself, and the swordsmaster would lose herself, in the grief that she lost the one she loved without her even knowing how much she loved her, passing on thinking that she hated her.
-*-**-*---*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*--**
Go and read mdzs if you havent yet its so good and gay you wont regret it I promise

𑣲 RENEWAL. ft. DAN (F)HENG
⠀ — it is not he that is familiar to you, nor you to him.
⠀ OR
⠀ — time and reincarnation aren’t enough to ever make you truly forget each other.
Tumblr media
⚠︎ angst if you squint, fluff, mild hsr spoilers? thank u to the high cloud quintet for having the most heart breaking lore, i listened to memory by toby fox on repeat while writing this.
Tumblr media
dan heng wasn’t sure what to feel when his eyes met yours.
familiarity? no, that’s not possible. he’s never met you.
nostalgia? no, that too was not possible. he cannot name one person who your eyes could possibly remind him of.
…what was it? what was it that had left dan heng unable to will his gaze to move somewhere else? surely the intense eye contact was leaving you uncomfortable, even he was beginning to feel squirmy in his own skin as you stared back at him with an equal intensity.
dan heng can feel something in the deepest pit of his mind, leaking down and adding to the tense knot in his gut.
yet, the feeling isn’t…unwelcome.
it’s warm. it’s akin to a comforting hand on his shoulder, or a small squeeze to his fingers. he could not, no matter how hard he tried, recall a time such a sensation had left him so utterly speechless.
“dan heng?”
it’s welt’s voice that finally pulled him out of his trance, his eyes blinking rapidly a few times before he turned his head to look at the older man.
“sorry. what was that?”
dan heng shook his head as if to rid himself of the thoughts of you. what was your name again? yukong had just informed him. not that he was really listening, anyway.
the conversation between his crew and the sky-faring commissions helm master continued on, talk of stellarons and something about the cloud knight’s general. dan heng couldn’t seem to focus despite his efforts.
another voice calls out to him just before he can depart alongside caelus and march, however this time it is not the deep and rough voice of his companion, but one that is much sweeter, and seems to strike a chord somewhere within him.
“dan heng?”
he turns around and is once more met with your eyes. dan heng willed himself to blink and nod before he could be entranced by them once more.
“i apologize, but…”
you trailed off before you were able to get the words out of your mouth, and there you found yourself back in the odd silence the two of you had just broken out of.
“…have we met before?”
you asked, and it finally clicked with dan heng where he had seen only snippets and flashes of you before.
my dreams, he thought. the dreams that haunted him night in and night out, but would occasionally grant him just a glance of a peaceful memory.
“no. we haven’t.”
you’re an amicassador of the sky-fairing commission, one brought on board long after he was banned from the ship that you called home. your meeting at any point before now would have been impossible.
yet, his mind drifts to the occasional memory he has only when deep in slumber.
“yingxing gifted me this.”
he looks down at you, head in his lap as you pull a small jade coin out of your pocket, a fine “永” carefully carved into the surface.
“he has too much time on his hands now that jing yuan is growing.”
your chuckle is soothing to his ears, the sound like a balm applied directly to his soul.
your face is unclear, almost as if his eyes are unfocused. yet your voice is unmistakable.
“i don’t disagree.”
is all he responds, fingers idly pushing a few stray hairs behind your ear as he looks down at you. although he can’t see it, he can feel the grass he and you reside on, smell the pollen off the fresh flowers the breeze blows towards him, can feel the sun on his skin.
“you’re sure?” you question again, voice just as calming as he was sure he’d imagined until now.
“you just—“ you chuckle a bit, almost awkwardly. “—seem so familiar, is all.”
you try to approach the topic subtly, but you truly did know him. from your own dreams, the ones you had that woke you in a cold sweat from just how real and jarring they felt, regardless of whether they were mild or sweet in nature. they conjured such emotion in you.
“baiheng was telling me of reincarnation.”
you muse to him, sitting with one hand on the ground just over his crossed legs, leaving you leaning across him.
“do you believe in such a thing?”
“of course.”
he nods, hand naturally finding it’s place on your waist.
“don’t you?”
“i don’t think so.”
you reach your free hand out to play mindlessly with the silver trim of his robes.
“it’s a nice thought, though.”
dan feng can only hum quietly.
“some day,” he began, drawing your attention back up to his face. “after i reach my end, i’ll come back to find you.”
the small tug of his lips could only be described as a smirk, but it felt softer than that.
“to prove it to you.”
you tilt your head teasingly, brow cocked.
“how will you recognize me?” “I would know you blind.”
he can feel his chest warm as you smile at him.
“i’ll hold you to that.”
“sorry.” dan heng bowed his head lightly.
“but we haven’t met before.”
he was being truthful, you hadn’t. it was your past lives that you two had been acquainted, had formed a bond so strong that it appeared to have transcended death itself.
dan heng did not wish to have dan feng’s deeds or past haunt him any more than they already do. the urge he felt to sit and talk with you, to perhaps hold your hand or touch your face would surely only lead him down a path he’d apparently gone down centuries ago.
“right.”
you nod at him, bowing yourself.
“sorry to keep you, it was nice to meet you.”
dan heng was released and regrouped with his crew, march and caelus bickering about something or the other and walking ahead of him. he decided to stay a bit further behind with welt.
his decision quickly regretted when welt gave him a knowing look, the lines on the older man’s forehead deepening as his eyebrows pushed together.
“you know them.”
“i know who they used to be. that’s all.”
welt can read the room well enough to know to end the topic there. dan heng had never enjoyed or been keen on talking of dan feng, and being back on the xianzhou alone had already left him with an unusual tension in his shoulders.
even as he walked away, moving up to engage in conversation with the sillier two of the quadrant, dan heng couldn’t shake you from his head. your smile, the way you held yourself as yukong introduced you, the small laugh that he had not expected would weave itself so deeply in his chest.
he kept walking on anyway. dan heng was not him.

Yandere High Cloud Quintet x Male Reader Headcanons
Cw: Stalking, Manipulation, Abuse, Blood, Daggers, sadism, unhealthy obsession, 18+ shit/topics.
Characters: Jingliu, Jing yuan, Dan Feng/Heng, Blade/Yangxinq, Baiheng. (Separate and Together)
Tumblr media
———
Jingliu
Tumblr media
Jingliu is a very gentle lover, sure she’s a little (massively) possessive of you, but it’s fine. She teaches you swords fighting, she protects you from any threats, and she’s a joy to be around with the quintet.
You relationship started like any other cliche love story. She saw you walking around aimlessly and feel in love. To her, you were beautiful. In fact, she was convinced you were idrilia or at the least her descendent.
So, she watched (stalked) you. For a LONG time. Watching as you walk around without purpose, as others glare jealously at you, as others OGLE at you.
It disgusted her, to see others practically drool or even dare to face you. Her eyes twitching involuntarily, her pupils shrinking in size, looking like a rabid animal.
So, using her skills as a seasoned warrior, she leads those people into very dangerous territory. Watching as the abominations of the abundance tear them to shreds.
She then accidentally bumps into you, and that’s how your relationship started. You know, the normal cliche romance novel beginnings. (Call me crazy….but I don’t think she bumped into you accidentally..I think she did that shit on PURPOSE)
Jingliu only feels comfortable allowing the quintet to touch/look at you. To her, it’s another win over them, she got the best looking person the entire xianzhou will ever have.
But then, when we got Mara-struck. Things changed. HORRIFICALLY.
Mara-Struck jingliu doesn’t bother to hide her obsession for you. Before she escapes the luofu, she steals you away, even breaking your legs so you couldn’t resist.
But don’t worry, she didn’t break them to the point you won’t heal from it. You will, you HAVE to. Your beauty simply couldn’t allow such a disgusting thing to exist to your body.
She cuffs you and ties your legs together, making sure you couldn’t resist any of her loving gestures. A kiss here, a cut there, a slap here, a gut punch there.
Looking down at your bloody and bruised body below her, she can’t help but smile. Your tears and blood making your skin glow beautifully, making her weak in the knees.
She dips down and grabs your chin, harshly lifting your head up to face her as she leaned in to lick your tears.
Jingliu: Your so fucking beautiful~
Her voice trembles as she kisses you, forcing her tongue deep down your throat. Forming a small icy dagger to draw more blood from your angelic body.
Jingliu: Mmm~ All bloody and bruised for me—BY. ME. You have no idea what you do to me~~!
She moaned out, cutting open another wound into your body. Feeling euphoric as she hears you sing your beautiful screams of pain—Pleasure
Jingliu: You did this too me~ YOUR the reason I’m Mara-struck! It’s your fault for being so FUCKING gorgeous~! For that.. YOU. OWE ME YOUR LOVE. YOUR VERY EXISTENCE ITSELF~~!
10/10. A terrifying yandere.
Sadistic, Impulsive, Delusional, Possessive, Obsessive and Clingy Yandere.
Baiheng
Tumblr media
(I know she isn’t meant to have the horns but I couldn’t find a better picture)
Unlike jingliu (and pretty much everyone here) bai heng could never have the heart to physically harm you.
No no no, such an atrocious act like that never crossed her mind. How could she ever harm your delicate body?
Baiheng would much more comfortably gaslight—Manipulate—would much more comfortably win you over with her humor.. and alcohol.
She’s generally good at hiding her obsessive tendencies from you, besides being extremely clingy. If she doesn’t have a hand wrapped around you she feels like she’s loosing her mind.
Baiheng would take you on expeditions to other planets, protecting you, tasting different types of alcohol, showing you off.
She lets you do her hair and groom her tail, and touch her ears. She also keeps her tail wrapped around your waist.
Baiheng would manipulate you into believing and only being completely reliant on her and her only. Your family? Leave em’ they’re holding you back. They wouldn’t accept your relationship with her.
Your friends? She’s the only person you can trust, those others are trying to steal you away from HER! Why have such boring friends when you can hang with her and the quintet?
Your job? Quit. You don’t need money or anything like that. She has your back, she’ll simply TAKE money from others and support you like that.
Baiheng is an emotional and mental manipulator and isolationist with a ‘healthy’ dose of controlling—Type of yandere.
One thing your don’t have to worry about is physical abuse. She’d never harm your body in any way.. that and she fucking dies.
Also she’d probably give you a pet name that has something to do with alcohol or stars/trailblazing
Bai Heng: My dear~! I brought alcohol from another planet! Come taste it with me and the quintet!
Bai Heng: Come my star, your family isn’t important. IM the only person who’ll treat you right~ I have money, a high status, a ship that can travel to different planets~
Bai Heng’s tail hugs your waist and her hands cup your face, pepper kissing your face to no end, only finding your embarrassed face adorable and using it as motivation to continue.
2/10, probably the best yandere here to have obsess over you.
A Manipulative, Isolating, Possessive yandere.
Jing Yuan
Tumblr media
He is also a relatively relaxed yandere. He doesn’t even have to try hard to get others to leave you alone.
Similar to bai heng, jing yuan would never physically harm you. He’s much more comfortable manipulating you.
Also similar to BaiHeng, he’d isolate you and forge your mind to be utterly and even pathetically reliable on him.
Using his status as general of the luofu, he’d forge some fraudulent evidence on your friends and family, having them arrested and even humiliated in public.
Then he swoops in again, and lifts you and your family up. He offers you reassurance, he suddenly finds the TRUE criminals, he punishes those who verbally assaulted you and your people.
Jing yuan still wishes to have your family’s blessing in a normal, everyday person would. But he isn’t afraid of just taking you away from your family and friends.
He’s a blend of baiheng and jingliu, he has bai hengs manipulative tendencies and jingliu’s violent behavior on others to secure you for himself.
Jing yuan: Come with me Love. I wish to teach you swords technique.
Jing Yuan: My love, would you care for some chess lessons?
Jing Yuan: Seize these criminals! Being those who have harmed the L/n’s to me. I shall allow the l/n’s to punish them accordingly.
4/10–Similar to baiheng but a little more dangerous as he does have violent tendencies.
A Manipulative, Possessive, even Self-Indulgent Yandere.
Blade/Yingxing
Tumblr media
Yingxing is also surprisingly normal. He uses his charm and crafts things for you to win you over.
He gets Dan Feng to tell him how to crafts those arm braces the Vidyadhara use to feel others warmth from miles away, so he can craft one for you.
He crafts you multiple weapons you have interest in. A sword that can morph into a scythe, a spear that elongates, a chain that has blades (takeda from MKX and 1)
The only negative tendency I see him having is being overly possessive and clingy to you. So he’s controlling, but that’s it. Until he becomes blade.
BLADE—Remembers you, his mind is completely fulled with imagines of you. His obsession and yandere-ness upgrading 10 folds.
Blade takes you in broad daylight, he doesn’t bother any types of subtleties. Your his, you always were.
He’s not suave as yingxing is, he’s just blunt and clingy. A scary violent dog that WILL kill anyone who even looks at you besides the stellaron hunters.
A part of him is annoyed that you’re scared of him, stop shaking and just hug him back you ungrateful fuck!
But there’s a part of him that thrives on it, that breaths it in, swims in your fear. Knowing that your fear will control you, and using it to destroy any hope building in you.
And when the Mara acts up and Kafka isn’t there to stop it..you sir, are fucked. His darker and unhinged personality takes hold, purposefully instilling fear in you.
He throws you in the woods and chases you down like the weak little prey you are. Using the dark, foggy, creepy environment to make you more paranoid.
Sneaking up behind you and breathing on your neck just to disappear as you flick around to face him. Then when he catches you, he reassures you that he’ll protect you, before using his sword to make you bleed.
Unlike jingliu, blade is happier and more then willing to completely rip off your limbs to keep you in place, so don’t push him.
Also similar to her, he loves your tears and blood, enjoying how it makes your skin shine even more than usual.
Yingxing: Your not distracting me dear. Infact, I find myself working better when you’re on my lap.
Blade: Sit still. Or will slit open your throat.
10/10 a more dangerous jingliu.
Delusional, Overprotective, Sadistic, Clingy and Possessive Yandere.
Dan Heng/Feng
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Dan Feng is a clingy yandere. Knowing that he’s eventually gonna be reincarnated, he wants you to worship him so you’d love him in his next life.
He isn’t afraid of just taking you in daylight. After all, who would challenge the High elder Vidyadhara?
He ALWAYS wraps his tail around your body. It normally stays on your waist. Thighs if he’s getting jealous or angry, ankles if he feels your challenging him.
Dan Feng keeps you beside him at all times, he the type to teach you history, magic, aeons. But he never teaches you how to fight, he wouldn’t want you to fight back against him.
Dan Feng is a self-indulgent and Possessive Yandere. But what about Dan Heng?
Dan Heng at first doesn’t want to approach you. He knows your Dan Feng lover but also knows how much he’s hurt you.
He tries and TRIES his damnedest to stay away from you. But it seemed Dan Feng love to you transferred to him.
Dan Heng, unlike Dan Feng is a much more softer yandere. He’s clingy and protective of you, allowing you personal space that Dan Feng would’ve never given you.
Dan Heng never transforms into his dragon form, as he knows you’ll get a panic attack if he did. He’s much more happier loving you as Dan Heng then Imbibitor Lunae.
Dan Feng obsession over you also transferred to Dan Heng, so in case that obsession takes over him, he teaches you how to fight, how to exploit his weaknesses.
Dan Feng: Cease your struggles. It’s pointless to fight back.
Dan Feng: Correct~ see how much more knowledgeable you get when you’re around me?
Dan Heng: Forgive me… I don’t wish to make you uncomfortable.
Dan Heng: I am not Dan Feng. I will not harm you or push your boundaries.
Dan Feng: 5/10–Self Indulgent and Possessive yandere
Dan Heng: 3/10–Possessive and Protective yandere.
The Quintet
Tumblr media
Your fucked. There’s just other no way to put it, your fucked.
At first they find it hard to share you, they want you all to themselves, it’s too damn suffocating to share you with four other people.
So, they take turns. Jingliu gets Monday’s, Yingxing gets Tuesday’s, Dan Feng gets Wednesday’s, Jing Yuan gets Thursdays, and Bai Heng gets you Friday.
They all share you on the weekends. Taking you on dates privately from the citizens of the luofu.
Escaping them is an absolutely laughable concept. It’s not possible to get away from them, so you might as well learn how to live with them.
The five of them would try to manipulate you into hating the others and liking them more. But they wouldn’t use the others insecurities or share their secrets. Mearly telling you why THEY’RE better.
Speaking of, what are dates like with them? Jingliu’s dates are a murder spree, she takes you to a territory full of the abundance creatures and makes you watch as she kills them all. In her mind, this shows you how well she can protect you.
BaiHeng is more traditional, taking you on a picnic in a nearby planet. Yangxinq would take you on scenic walks dates.
Jing yuan dates are lessons in fighting and chess. Dan Feng’s dates are library ones.
Jingliu and Dan Feng don’t care about your personal space. It’s there’s space too. The other three would try to pry them off of you but be unsuccessful.
You have accessories of them on your body. A glove from Yangxinq, a necklace from Jingliu, a bracelet from bai heng, a weapon from Jing yuan, an arm brace from Dan Feng.
When bai heng dies and jingliu gets Mara-struck shit hits the fan. Jingliu is much more obsessive with you, trying to repeatedly steal you away from Jing yuan who is protecting you from her.
Dan Feng tries to input a forbidden protective barrier on you that causes him to get outcasted and furthers his desire to bring back Bai Heng.
Yangxing and jing yuan gets more protective and possessive over you, with jing yuan’s protectiveness being amplified once yangxing dies and Dan Feng is banished.
Jing yuan isolated you completely from anyone and everything besides him. He can’t take anymore of him friends dying or leaving.
He cries into your chest, hugging you deathly while promising to protect you and degrading himself for not doing more to save his old friends.
Jingliu would try to find you, but eventually she’d leave the luofu, believing jing yuan was hiding you somewhere in the cosmos.
Years pass and the only person you ever need and ever interact with is jing yuan. He’s in a much more better mental state but still extremely overprotective and isolating you.
Blade try’s to find you but falls, Dan Heng represses his obsession of you. No one finds you, and that’s good, no one can take you away nothing can hurt you.
Until SHE finds you. Jingliu comes back and she somehow finds you. Of course he hid you here. Right under where the high cloud quintet would hang out.
She doesn’t steal you immediately. No no no, she needs to make sure it’s you and that jing yuan hasn’t corrupted you in any way.
She gets angry when you mistake her for Jing yuan, so, she decides to cleanse you of him. She steals you away and leaves the luofu and the xianzhou entirely. She doesn’t need that trauma machine of a ship anymore.
She has you, that’s all she needs, all she WANTS.
———-
God fucking damn I’m never doing this again ;-; (maybe)

i just woke up, it’s 7am and i’m having thoughts about jingliu…
if there was one person on the luofu who knew jingliu the longest, it was you. not the high cloud quintet or the cloud knights, you. the daughter of jingliu’s master, and the stubborn sword champion’s personal healer. she entered your life as a gangly, hungry girl who could barely hold a sword in both hands—and now, she’s the greatest warrior the luofu has ever seen.
but more importantly, now, she’s your wife.
it seemed almost like an inevitability, that you’d fall for her. for all that she was your mother’s disciple, you didn’t see her much as children. jingliu would always be training, and you would always be studying. it was only after she became a member of the cloud knights, and you a member of the alchemy commission, that things would really start to blossom—like a lotus flower, bright and pure.
you were the only healer jingliu really trusted and even allowed to heal her. the warrior had a stubborn streak several miles wide, but perhaps it was the echo of your mother in you that had her obediently heeling to your treatments—a fact that always awed her fellow cloud knights, who teased her relentlessly about it. “whipped,” they’d say. jingliu would only grumble and grudgingly thank you, before leaving the clinic and decidedly and publicly putting every one of her squadmates on their asses during a sparring match.
but nonetheless, it is no one but jingliu who comforts you when teng xiao arrives at your door, a set of armor folded neatly in his arms, and a grim, apologetic look on his face. that night it is jingliu who sits by your side, letting you weep into her shoulder as she awkwardly and clumsily attempts to console you. grief burns through you like a wildfire, but jingliu is there, her presence soothing and cool like moonlight. you both fall asleep tangled in each other’s arms, finding that, if nothing else, there is comfort in shared loss.
the next morning, you ask her about it as you both still hold each other close. jingliu’s mouth opens and closes, struggling to choose the right words. “i swore to her that i’d protect you,” she answers. it makes you smile, just a little, even if grief still twists sharply in your heart.
“you’re protecting me by cuddling me?” you tease her, and her pale cheeks flush.
“that’s— i believed you might have needed—“ she stammers, and you cut her off by pressing closer against her cool body.
“i’m just teasing,” you whisper against her skin, arms tightening around her muscular form. as if to ground yourself, as if to assure yourself that she’s really here. “i appreciate it, jingliu. thank you.”
at your words, the warrior relaxes. her voice is barely higher than yours when she replies, tinged with a hint of tenderness. “of course.”
jingliu is different, after that. you guess that it’s because you are all she has left—much the same in how she is all you have left. there is a gentle awkwardness to her now, like someone who has never known how to be soft trying to learn for the first time. she sits patiently as she lets you fuss over her wounds, knowing that you need this, that you need to know she’s alright. she only looks away when you get a little too close, when she can feel the warmth of your breath on her skin, and she hopes you don’t notice (you do).
she comes to the house whenever she can, which feels just a little emptier without your mother’s commanding presence. she stands shoulder to shoulder next to you at the counter making dumplings, her rough, battle-scarred hands dwarfing your own more delicate ones—but she wraps the dumplings with finesse all the same. you eat them together, quietly, but the silence is comfortable. you know each other enough that words are unnecessary. these nights you can only ever fall asleep in her arms—and she can only ever fall asleep in yours. neither of you question it, but what is there to question anyway?
jingliu ends up being many of your firsts—including your first kiss. it happens on one of those nights, tangled in each other’s arms, with nothing but a sliver of moonlight to illuminate jingliu’s pale face. you feel her pulse jump under your touch, as your thumb traces the ridge of her cheekbones and your lips press gently against hers. kissing her is nothing grand, no fireworks or butterflies—just the quiet sense of finally coming home.
jingliu is your first time, too. her hands trail down your body with reverence, lips pressing kisses like prayers against your skin. she brings you to the edge of heaven with her fingers and her mouth until you lie boneless on the sheets. she kisses you while your essence is still smeared across her lips, and you eagerly return the favor.
jingliu is your first and only love. it’s the soft, quiet kind, more of a respite than a whirlwind in and of itself. a shelter where both of you can return to, when the world becomes too much. you’re there for each other at the lowest lows and the highest highs—jingliu attends the ceremony as you’re sworn in as the cauldron master of the alchemy commission, eyes trained only on you as you accept the honor. and you attend jingliu’s ascenscion ceremony for the title of sword champion, standing at the forefront of the crowd, a proud smile on your face. to jingliu, that is her true victory.
and yet, even as the sword champion, there are still things she fears—like telling you she loves you. it takes a grand amount of coaxing from her new friends—a blacksmith, a high elder, and a pilot, respectively—before she works up the courage. she whispers it against your neck one moonlit night, intertwined with you in the sheets. her voice trembles ever so slightly, her breath fanning unevenly against your skin, and she tenses when you laugh softly. but the tension bleeds out of her immediately when you say it back, and she slumps against you, as if the weight of the world had been lifted off her shoulders.
(baiheng and yingxing later force her to buy them drinks, and she does so, grudgingly. after all, they were right when they said there was no way you’d say anything other than ‘i love you too’. dan feng only attends for the free alcohol, but he is happy for her nonetheless.)
your marriage is a quiet affair—or as quiet as it can get, with baiheng and yingxing together on the guestlist. but it is perfect, to you and jingliu. the rings were crafted by yingxing, inlaid with stones baiheng discovered along the trailblaze. neither of you actually wear them on your fingers due to your jobs, but none other than dan feng gifts the both of you corded red rope to loop the rings through and wear as a necklace. it becomes your greatest treasure, even centuries down the line.
the next few months of your life are calm and routine—until jingliu returns home one day with a teenager, of all things. the boy has long, shaggy, white hair, and curious golden eyes. He reminds you of a cat.
“this is jing yuan,” jingliu introduces to you. “my disciple.”
the boy greets you politely, before jingliu sends him off to an empty room in your home for him to claim as his own. once the boy is out of sight, you turn to jingliu, quirking a brow.
“disciple?”
she nods. “yes. i believe he has potential.”
you only hum at her answer, stepping forward to fix her collar. she lets you fuss, as you always have, and then presses her lips against yours gently, her hands on your waist. “trust me,” she whispers, and you do.
jing yuan fits into your life more easily than you expected. a sharp-witted young man, quick with a blade but even quicker with his words. it isn’t long before you grow fond of him as well—in an almost parental sort of way. before you realise, you start fussing over him the way you fuss over jingliu. it seems you’re not the only one susceptible to jing yuan’s charm, since the newly formed high cloud quintet adore him just as much—baiheng, especially, is delighted to have another little brother figure besides yingxing. jingliu is no exception; the pride in her gaze as she watches jing yuan train is visible to anyone.
nowadays, your home feels fuller. it is no longer just you and hingliu making dumplings—another pair of hands, sometimes even another three appear to help. the dinner table is full more often than not, and there always seems to be more plates in the sink. sometimes you find purple fur on the floor, or the occasional jade-like scale in between your couch cushions. but joy, you learn, is fleeting. nnd no one ever notices it is here until it is gone, ripped from your hands before you can even blink.
jingliu is your first and only love. she is also your first and only heartbreak.
everything you’ve built with jingliu over the course of centuries crumbles in a matter of days. the battle against shuhu is vicious. you can barely even keep up against the constant stream of injured that flood the alchemy commission. you and your colleagues down energising pill after energising pill to stay on your feet and support the xianzhou forces. tet the news from the frontline would nonetheless bring you to your knees.
baiheng, dead. yingxing, cursed. dan feng, imprisoned. and worst of all—
jingliu, mara-struck.
the ten lords commission keep her under strict watch in a holding cell. you barely have the time to visit, what with the number of patients that demand your attention. jing yuan is the one who visits her, by his authority as the new arbiter general. he speaks to you when he can, updates you on her condition—but you’ve treated enough cases to know when something is bad, even if jing yuan tries to assuage you with purposefully vague wording.
she barely recognises you when you approach her. her beautiful ruby eyes are covered by a ragged, black cloth. thick, metal bindings encircle her wrists and restrain her arms behind her back. you call her name, quietly, gently, trying your hardest to stifle the tremble in your voice. sometimes, there is a flicker of recognition. most of the time, there is nothing.
you return to an empty house. it’s so, so cold, and your bed is far too big. you hold tightly to your ring, praying that jingliu be spared this fate. but the aeon does not listen.
because no more than a few months later, jingliu breaks free from her confinement, and rampages across the luofu. smoke chokes the air as ice and frigid wind sweeps across the epicenter that is jingliu. but instead of running away, you run towards her. the ice seems to part and melt before you as you run. you need to see her.
instead, all you witness is the majesty of the lightning lord, as he strikes down your beloved.
nothing remains of jingliu. they find no body, not even any remnants of armor or personal effects. after that, they strike her name from every record for her dishonor. all her achievements, her victories—erased. as if she never existed. you are forced to resign as cauldron master in shame, with your apprentice dan shu taking your place.
you feel… nothing. only a pervasive, parasitic emptiness spreading through your entire being. you spend your days in a bed in a guest room—you can’t bring yourself to set foot in the room you once shared with her. the kitchen lies deserted. you barely feel hunger or thirst, or any sort of sensation. and yet, you keep living. your cells respire and your lungs draw breath, and your heart still thumps in your chest—even as your soul rots and decays.
the only thing—or person, rather—that stirs you now somewhat is jing yuan. he has lost everyone too, this general who will always be that curious-eyed boy to you. you do your best to pick yourself up; if not for yourself, then for him.
(but jing yuan knows. he sees it in your eyes, the truth of the matter. the guilt that gnaws at you, that compels you to keep fussing over him.
you think that caring for him will help you atone for the way you failed jingliu. he wants to tell you that his master would’ve never thought such a thing. but he doesn’t, and lets you mother him all the same.
he needs this too.)
jing yuan appoints you as his personal healer, even as his advisors protest. they question your ability—after all, how could a good healer not even mend the one she loved most?
that moment is the first and last time you ever see jing yuan angry. it fades as quickly as it comes, however, and you are appointed as his personal healer nonetheless. you remain by his side for the next few centuries, watching as he grows more and more into the role of the general. the pain of your loss doesn’t heal—not fully, at least, but it scabs over.
still, you can’t help the ache in your chest when jing yuan approaches you one day, a young boy at his heels.
“this is my disciple, yanqing,” he introduces. the boy has flaxen hair, and expressive amber eyes. there’s a fire in them, a determination that you remember seeing in a pair of ruby ones. he greets you, politely and a little shyly.
it’s a painfully familiar scene, and the best you can manage is a wordless smile.
yanqing becomes another target of your fussing soon enough. he squirms when you check him over for injuries, insisting that he’s fine. the boy is incorrigibly stubborn. but in the end, he is still a boy. his enthusiasm, unmarred by grief and loss, brings a liveliness to your monotone life. you can’t help but sneak a few more extra strales into his pockets for swords when jing yuan isn’t looking.
(but he knows. jing yuan always knows.)
you are not happy, not truly, not without her, never without her, but for now you are content. the boys in your life give you reason enough to keep going.
yet your life turns upside down once more when the stellaron bursts on the luofu. jing yuan keeps you away from the whirlwind of conflict, assigning an elite squad of his knights to guard your house. it makes you curious, but the answer reveals itself to you only a few days after the crisis is resolved.
there, standing amidst the unconscious bodies of the cloud knights supposed to guard you, is none other than the ghost of your beloved.
she’s as beautiful as the day you lost her.

Ok now I need to know after reading Yanqing’s first word, what was everyone’s reaction when he started calling them Ba, Baba, A-die and auntie? And Mimi of course
Yingxing- When Yingxing got called Baba, it was when Yanqing wanted didn't want him to go to work. Yingxing had put on his coat and getting his phone when Yanqing reached out his arms and said "Baba" with teary eyes. Yingxing was silent, unsure how to process what happened. "Baba!" Yanqing said again. Yingxing did not say anything in response, instead picked up Yanqing and clung to him. He was also an hour late to work and there was a rumor amongst the household staff that he had cried.
Dan Feng- He absolutely cried when Yanqing called him "Ba!" They were strolling through the garden at the Alchemy Commission. Yanqing loved the water and the cool air despite the fact his father was more concerned with keeping him warm. Yanqing had patted his father's face and horns and shouted out "Ba!" Dan Feng went on to brag to everyone at the Commission about his son's accomplishments.
Jingliu and Baiheng- While Jingliu did not care much for what Yanqing called her, knowing it would be "Master" once Yanqing was older enough to pick up a sword, Baiheng cared a lot. "Say Auntie! A-un-ti!" Baiheng put a lot of work in after the "Cat" incident. That work did pay off a month latter when Yanqing, with his big eyes and chubby cheeks, "Ah-Ti" to Jingliu when asking to be picked up. Jingliu, of course, did not say or show any emotions but Baiheng could tell she was happy. Baiheng, on the other hand, was ecstatic that her plan finally worked and sent the video to the group chat.
Jing Yuan- Jing Yuan was called "cat" for the longest time. This was likely due to his hair looking like Mimi's fur. However, one day when Yanqing was on his father's lap while the general was looking at reports, he wanted to show his father the white lion plushie. It had came with no warning, just "A-Die!" Jing Yuan had paused and looked down, his eyes resembling an owl. All it took was another "A-Die!", a wave of the plushie, and a gummy smile to get Jing Yuan to abandon his work for the day.
Mimi- Mimi was called "Cat" for the longest time but she didn't care. She didn't need to be called over by Yanqing, she came over when she wanted to which was all the time. It wasn't until Yanqing was over a year old that he finally started calling Mimi by her name after hearing people say it for so long. Mimi continued to not care and still did as she pleased.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE ASK!!!! :)

So… I did jingliu’s companion mission…
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
you’re telling me that the only thing that’s been keeping this woman alive is hatred and a promise she made to someone she loved like eons ago… and that the reincarnation of that same woman who she made the promise to told her that she could cure her mental turmoil if only she let herself rid of the torments of the past, and jingliu was like “nope, my pain is the only thing that’s keeping the memory of my loved one alive, so I shall bare it till the stars go dark” TO HER FACE. And then proceded to tell her that even though she couldn’t physically do anything to aid her illness, just by being near her once again, she healed more than any medicine could’ve ever done.
So, she’s doomed by immortality to live her life infinitely with the grief of the loss of the one she loved + the loss of her own sanity, and the guilt of the deeds made whilst she wasn’t lucid in her own body. Believing herself a sinner and a criminal, with no memories of the good times, all stolen by her own mind- with only hatred left towards the people that she once called her friends. A revenge that could never be fulfilled by her own blade. So, she seeks for one last final respite before being locked away at last, to serve her due. She tries one final time to draw blood, to diminish, to sever- to grant a favor, to end a life. And throughout that last display of violence she gets, once again, to see a flash of the face that she had missed so dearly, of a soul she once loved that until then had been stored amongst forgotten phantoms of what once was. In the end neither of them get what they sought. Either way, they are doomed to keep trying still, for eternity. To hate each other. To mourn. To hate themselves, to punish themselves, to punish each other. To kill. To die. To be reborn, yet again, with the same weight on their shoulders and a feeble mind that’s just on the verge of collapse. Sick and tired. Forever.

i am politely asking for any number of yanqing and hcq headcanons. throw your worst. i'm ready.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA well it's been a while-
I still have few (i should be sleeping rn guys)
---------------------------------------------------------------------
I feel like yanqing would be the kid who accidently walked in on his parents (While they were having sex) and be like- "BABA I NEED HOLY WATER" and run out of the room leaving dan feng and yingxing confused and conflicted and Jing yuan's trying to find his clothes so he can go get dressed and explain frantically (he's a worried dad guys)
Jingliu says that she doesn't spoil yanqing but when yanqing throws her the 'puppy cute sad eyes' she cannot. I MEAN LITTERALLY cannot resist and buys yanqing the sword when he was young.
BAIHENG, on the other hand, will ALWAYS spoil yanqing, always, when jingliu and baiheng are going to visit dan feng and the others- baiheng is like 'OH LET ME BRING THIS FOR YANQING! HE'LL LOVE IT-' and yea-
Yingxing occasionally (for b-days and lunar new year) forges a sword for yanqing, and yanqing obviously keeps it to his very very specail collection, he occasionally uses it too!!
When yanqing was young, he got smacked by Dan feng's tail, dan feng didn't know until yanqing started crying by the force of the tail (apparently, yanqing was trying to catch dan feng's tail while dan feng was tail to someone) HE REGRETTED IT SO SO BADLY that he didn't take his tail out for a week.
Jing yuan has a thing for felines and birds, so whenever a bird is in jing yuan's hair, yanqing tries to take the bird, or he'll just go to yingxing and say- "Ba, Baba is being a princess again.' and dan feng will burst out laughing.
JING YUAN HAS ALSO MADE A SEPERATE ROOM FOR YANQING TO KEEP HIS SWORD COLLECTION- THIS IS CANON GUYS TRUST ME- (gets slapped)

I see you open for request, can I request how y/n(dan jia) meet the character? Because I want to know how we meet the character
Character : jing yuan, yingxing, jingliu and that fox lady. I forgot her name hehehe✌✨
Is it just open for scenario?
Definitely like your fanfic about dragon's cradle
I will wait for more update from the fanfic! ✨
I will request again if I have idea and your request is open :)
AWHH !! THANK YOU FOR REQ THIS !!
since this is very heavily reliant on canon events, everything in this scenario is just headcanons ! just for a little fluff <3
in this headcanon, Jing Yuan is already an adult. though i see many people referring Jing Yuan as a child in many mvs, but if im not mistaken, jing yuan was already a general before everything happened.
ONCE AGAIN ! i will replace the name Dan Jia with (Y/n), for more comfort, but this timeline was actually when Dan Jia was still 'alive'. But still, this is just a head canon, nothing too serious, so have fun !
OH ANOTHER THING ! i made dan jia/ (Y/n)'s horns blue for the sake of the story, and her powers are ice. She wields a crystal fan, and follows the path of abundance. Like Dan Feng, who is the Imbibator Lunae (drinker of the moon), (Y/n) is the Saltator Lunae (dancer of the moon), a name given to her due to the unforeseen fate of having two individuals that could inherit the dragon heart after successfully undergoing the Transmutation Arcanum.
Taglist ! : -
@rebeccawinters , @nayukiyukihira , @pix-stuff , @fluffy-koalala , @swivy123 , @starxao , @kaoyamamegami , @kimura-uzuri , @rsvye , @seikouryuu , @just-here-reading , @matsulovesyou , @sincerely-aaronette

"Jing Yuan, I want you to meet someone," the icy cold voice of his master entered her ears.
The practicing knight looked up from his place, looking to his right where his master in blue and white was standing. The sword that was strong in his grasp was let loosened as he stood straight, sheathing the sword into its scabbard.
Jing Yuan's golden eyes widened as he looked up. Behind his master was a young woman, who had similar features to the Imbibator Lunae he had grown close to. Not facial features, rather the unique features the dragon's predecessors have. The horns and the glowing (e/c) eyes, that brim with potential and power.
"This is (Y/n). Dan Feng's sister. She'll be training with me to hone her ice powers. It never hurts to learn more." Jingliu said, looking at the young lady behind her a hand gestured out for (Y/n). Jing Yuan blushed a little at the sight of the dragon lady before him. And it seemed that Jingliu noticed the gaze of her student.
"Jing Yuan. Be nice to her." "I'm always nice !" "No flirting."
Jing Yuan's face burst into a deep crimson shade. He was still a young adult., mind you. He was still pretty new with relationships. Future Jing Yuan would've probably pat his back and laughed at the shyness of his past self.
"Pleasure to meet you, I'm (Y/n), the Saltator Lunae." (Y/n) said, a light chuckle leaving her pink lips as she bowed to him. Jing Yuan's eyes widened and he bowed back. "J-Jing Yuan. Th-the pleasure is mine."
Though this is the first time he met this dragon lady who raised her head before him, this isn't the first time he's seen this lady. No, not when Jing Yuan remembers those (e/c) eyes that shone as brightly as the stars, and were as clear as glass.
The swordsmith was walking peacefully in the night at the bazaar, tired after a full day slaving by the fire, creating weapons with his own hand. Yingxing felt fulfilled more than anything, as he had the power to bring his creations to life. The soft gaze of the moon above him as if blessing him for all his hard work.
There was once, he received a commission unique to all other works. It was an odd request for a swordsmith like himself to create such an accessory, but since it was from a dear friend of that requested him to try, even going as far as to provide the materials, Yingxing thought that he might as well give it a shot.
In his hand, Yingxing held a beautiful glass hairpin he had molded with his own hands. The small accessory was embedded with stunning pearls and precious quartz, that was obviously hard to find from the exquisite quality. He felt almost saddened to part with it.
It almost felt...unreal to see the familiar shine of that...rainbow quartz shining beneath the moonlight. Yingxing reached out to it, but the said shine disappeared within the sea of residents of the Xianzhou ship. But he needed to find it, he needed to reach out, to see who was actually the beholder of that precious hair ornament.
Closer and closer Yingxing walked, pushing through the sea of people without harming anyone. His amber eyes scanned through the crowd, and came back in sight with the glass hairpin he had dedicated his soul into making.
A woman. A beautiful woman who had her hair held up with the beautiful stick made with the finest items. Yingxing reached out to the woman, his hand caught by the Imbibator Lunae who had a smirk.
"I knew you'd find her by the hairpin in her hair. Yingxing, meet my sister, (Y/n)." the High Elder said, and the woman beside him turned around, horns on her head.
Yingxing never knew that the hairpin he thought to be a failure at first was actually the most beautiful thing he has seen under the moonlight.
'Once...once again....again !' Were the things the master ice woman repeated in her mind time and time again as she swung her sword tirelessly. Who cares if her hands dripped with blood ? Who cares if her hands were sore from the splintered wood in her hands ? That's right. Not even Jingliu herself cared about it.
She kept swinging her sword towards the dummy. Time and time again she leapt into the air like a snowstorm, slashing her weapon infused with her ice powers, obliterating all the dummies she just had repaired. Jingliu was strong...but in her eyes, it wasn't strong enough, not precise enough...not fast enough.
Jingliu landed on the ground with a thump of her shoes beneath her feet, her expression filled with distaste and disappointment to herself. She cared not for the stinging in her hands, the blood dripping down and staining the stone pavement beneath her shoes.
"That's enough. Take a break." a soft and tender voice called out. Five slender fingers landed on her shoulder, snapping Jingliu out of her trance. She was quite disturbed to who had pulled her out of her zone, but as she turned behind, (e/c) eyes were staring deep into her red eyes.
"Your hands...wont be able to heal if you push yourself any longer without medical attention." the dragon lady said, peeling open Jingliu's hand, forcing her to drop the sword from her hands. Jingliu was so stunned by the sudden appearance of this woman, who she had never realized from earlier.
"Come. I'll heal your hands. And maybe you should take a break. Doctors always say that with a slight break, your body would be able to breathe and you'll be able to do better." the woman said, pulling Jingliu along with her, the tender and soft (s/c) hand holding onto her bloody and calloused hand.
"Who...are you ?" Jingliu asked the dragon woman before her, though she would be crazy not to know who this woman was with the horns on her head symbolizing her importance. And the woman smiled warmly and answered simply with a small smile. "My name is (Y/n)."
And as their friendship bloomed between the two ice women, Jingliu had been inspired by (Y/n)'s dances and elegance. And with that in mind, she had forged her signature move, earning her the name, Transcendent One.
(Y/n) gazed up to the sky, watching the starskiffs race around. She wished how she could have some freedom of her own. How free she would feel, in the sky above, travelling with the stars. She kept thinking about it, while sipping at the canned peach tea in her hands as she walked.
Her thoughts were cut short when she heard storming of boots and thumps her ears had recognized to belong to those in the Cloud Knights. And as she turned, there was indeed a group of 4 knights chasing after a purple foxian woman who was jeering at the knights who weren't able to catch up to her.
"Hah ! You thought !" the purple foxian said, looking back and pulling her tongue out at them. That was, until she turned front and realized there she was running into someone.
Without time and reflex to stop or to turn, Baiheng did the craziest thing she could ever do. Which was grab at the hand of the woman that was walking along politely like an average law-abiding citizen of the Xianzhou.
Baiheng pulled along the woman who was quite startled by the sudden pull and run, dropping her canned drink behind as she was suddenly pulled along. The drink fell from her hands and spilt onto the ground as the two of them ran.
"H-hey, wait !" "Sorry ! I'll make it up to you, I promise !" Baiheng exclaimed in pure horror, clearly not understanding her own reflex to pull along this innocent and clueless dragon woman with her.
"Anyway ! My name is Baiheng ! Pleasure to meet you !" the foxian said, flashing a bright, toothy smile to (Y/n) who laughed along with this cheerful foxian.
;;sorry if some of them weren't good,, i really didnt have much idea for them,,, i hope you had fun reading these !

Baiheng
Dan feng: a good friend, a bit closed off but they got along despite her constant teasing him.
Jingliu: baiheng quiet enjoyed her company, thay were drinking budys and would often go drinking with out the others.
Jing yuan: part of her still thought of him as a kid, (i don't have a lot to say about there relationship from her perspektiv) they got along well enough.
Yingxing: she was quiet fond yingxing ever sense there first meeting, she was incredibly supportive of his work and dreams.
Dan feng
Baiheng: dan fang got along quiet well baiheng despite her constant teasing, when she died he was devastated and blamed himself for her death.
Jingliu: he respected jingliu and looked up to her as a leader, the two would often spar and jingliu would always win even with the help of yingxing.
Jing yuan: the two would often play strategi games agenst one another, with jing yuan often being the winer, they were quiet close.
Yingxing: yingxing was dan fang's closest friend and confedont, dan fang world often went his frustrations to him.
Jingliu
Baiheng: baiheng was her closest friend, they would often drink and laugh together, baiheng's death effected her greatly and jingliu's memories of her would eventually propel her into mara.
Dan feng: jingliu held great respect for him, despite constantly wining in there sparring matches she belived the if he was to use his cloud hymn magic he could probably have won half of them.
Jing yuan: jingliu loved jing yuan like a son but would never be caught dead emitting to it (she acctidenttly told baiheng about it when drunk, but nether of them remember it) the day he bacame general of the luofu was the proudest day of her life.
Yingxing: jingliu also saw him as son (jing yuan was the favorit tho) she found his head strong nature and arrogant bravado indering, she also admierd his craftsmanship and the sword he made for her was one of her most prized possession.
Jing yuan
Baiheng: jing yuan looked up baiheng when he was younger and her carefree spirit definitely rubed of on him. Out of all the members of the high cloud quintet, he was the least effected by her death but it was still devastating for him.

Jingliu: he held an immeasurable amount of respect for his master, she practically raised him and taught him everything he knows about combat, when she became mara struck in the aftermath of the sedition of imbibitor lunae it effected him more then baiheng's death had done priviously.
Yingxing: despite there constant bickering the two were actually quiet close, they were of a simulera age to one another and would grow to become like brothers, to this day the starfall reverie is one jing yuan's most treasured possessions.
Yingxing
Baiheng: baiheng was the one who inspirerad yingxing to be self confident in his work, he eventually grow to have a crush on her but he never confessed his feelings out of fear of ruening thier friendship (he made the flagon with the intentions of confessing, but never did) yingxing was the most effected by baiheng's death out of all of them.
Dan feng: dan fang was yingxing's clonest friend and the only person he would voice his selfdoubt to (including his feelings for baiheng) when dan feng came to him with his plan resurrect baiheng it didn't take much convinsing to get yingxing to help him.
Jingliu: was like a stern mother figure to him, he respected her greatly and the sword he made her was his magnom opis, he would regularly spar with her (and dan fang) but was never really a warrior (until he bacame blade of course)
Jing yuan: when they first meet yingxing thought he was loud and obnoxious they would constantly be butting heads with one another, but over time they would become close and their constant bickering would turne into playful banter.

so thinking of baiheng and jingliu... we know foxian funeral rites are unique on the xianzhou luofu where they get put onboard a starskiff and sent out to the stars — even if there is no body to put there. thinking of jingliu being the one to load up baiheng's starskiff for the stars. putting not only things of baiheng's there but her own, feeling the mara creeping in.
jing yuan had to hunt her down and corner her in starskiff haven, where she was supposedly defeated with a smile on her face. if starskiff haven sounds familiar, well.
Tumblr media
it is for a reason.
there's so many thoughts and possibilities to pull at here. jingliu wishing she had put her body on it. jingliu losing it because she can't stand watching the skiff being sent off, why her, she didn't get to live her full life, she'd make a deal with any aeon listening to trade places. it's said mara strikes when you can no longer find your own memories pleasant, and grief must be so potent to cause a descent into mara...

“Hey im back” m/n announced himself as he walked up the stairs. “Ah! M/n~ how was your… huh…!!” Bai Heng yelped loudly as she saw m/n who jumped from the unexpected yell.
“Gahh!! What what what!!?” M/n yelled back as he flicked around his body to see what the issue was. “WHATDOYOUMEANWHAT!!? YOUHAVEAFUCKINGARROWANDAXEINYOURBODY!” (What do you mean what—you have a fucking arrow and axe in your body) She yelled as m/n looked at his body, seeing some arrows impaled in his body and an axe that somehow was lodged in his back “Huh… I didn’t notice”
Bai heng was completely dumbfounded, however she quickly ran towards him as he stumbled on his steps, grabbing him in her embrace. “Bai heng-!! WHAT THE HELL!!!?” Jing yuan yelled as he saw m/n, soon the other quintet members appeared besides him and held looks of horror on their faces.
Everyone: M/N!!!!!!!
They yelled in horror, quickly rushing to your side. Dan heng used his water to help heal you whilst jingliu ripped out the weapons in your body and used her ice to freeze your open wounds, accidentally freezing Dan Feng’s water
D.F: STOP FREEZING MY WATER!!
Jingliu: IM NOT TRYING TO!!
Their yelling didn’t seem to help you, as your eyes blinked rapidly “g-guys… I’m fine—”
Yangxing: Don’t push yourself!
Jing Yuan: Please. You’re already badly injured!
M/n: No seriously I’m…
He fell unconscious as he heard them desperately calling out his name…. Later, he awoke in a bed. Wearing a clean set of new clothes. He looked to see Dan Feng’s tail and Bai heng’s wrapped around his body.
M/n: What’s— AH!!
He yelled as he felt pain impale his body, falling back onto the bed and awaking the two clingy lovers. “WHO DARES—!!” Dan Feng’s feral and ragefull eyes disappeared once he noticed it was m/n who made the sound.
Bai Heng: M/N!!! Oh thank aeons you’ve woken up!!
She said, hugging him tightly, making him yell in pain once more which led to her quickly un-hugging him. “Ah!! I-I’m sorry I didn’t—!!”
M/n: It’s fine… I can still—
Dan Feng: Don’t you dare say something foolish. You will not be moved from this bed until we’ve all agreed you’ve fully recovered.
He said sternly yet joyfully that he had woken. M/n was about to retaliate but bai heng shut him up with a kiss—which irked Dan Feng but he decided to let it go. It was called for in this instance.
Once jingliu and Jing yuan returned from their angered murder spree against the abundance monsters, they didn’t let you go—same for yanxqing once he crafted much better armor for you.

This was also short… I’m so sorry, my creativity was all poured onto the yaoqing trio x male reader story
