When Odette and Merante were younger they often went to the Pub. It was a time of freedom for them. Odette went earlier than Louis and it was her time to dance as her mind made her. She danced careless and wild, far away from any kind of judgement.

It was a late evening when Louis discovered her. He went to the Pub out of interest and out of boredom but something pulled him her. He watched her and was even more amazed by her dancing in the pub, than he was at her dancing in the Opera. It felt more real. More personal. Like he had just seen the most vulnerable version of Odette. It wasn’t her fault when someone drunk let his bottle fall and Odette stepped on hit. It was a simple reaction to catch her and yet she stared at him, his hand wrapped around her waist. He smiled shyly at her and said one simpel sentence: “I hope that tomorrow you act with a little more dignity”

It was the thing these two heard the most in their time as younger students. It was the same thing their teacher would say, whenever Odette missed a step, Merantes hands were on the wrong spot of their dance didn’t vibe the right way. It was a habit when these two used this sentence.

3. You dance with right here…

Merante had often watched Odette fail. Not in a bad way, it didn’t made her a bad ballerina but in a way that was human. A way that after a long of studying her lessons the next morning weren’t perfect. It happened, that Odette forgot why she was dancing or even how to dance. Not because she couldn’t more in a way of her body couldn’t remember. He sighed lightly and always went to her after a few miserable tries. He kneeled in front of the young woman, tears in her eyes. “You know why you dance and how.”

“I can’t remember”

“You can. You dance with right here”

4. After ten years of cleaning you pick stuff up

It was the standard sentence when employees asked the cleaner how she knows so much about dancing. About choreographies, the music even the costumes. She never told them, never wanted to see pity in their eyes. Odette tried to calm them down with this sentence. She knever knew anything out of her past, she had always picked it up over the years.

If I had a nickel for every time the Wise Men gifted me with a movie that would take my entire attention, being and life for the next years, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.

The way I was rooting for Odette and Mérante to kiss the entire 'Ballerina' animated film 👀 like, they're definitely exes, and they were giving each other glances through out the course of the film, and I just squeaked when Mérante kissed her on a cheek so gently at the end

I just realized yesterday that Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker ballet has its 130 anniversary on December 18, but oh well. Anyways, on December 14 was the 6th anniversary of Ballerina/Leap! so I couldn't resist to draw my favorite baby turtledoves together, and of course Victor is the Nutcracker here. 😉 That clumsy little inventor hides a charming yet awkward prince inside. 😊

Happy 6th anniversary to these awesome characters! 😃

Hello, thanks for the ask! 😃 This page was a bit dead lately. 😅

Well, I imagine, if I was Odette, I would avoid by all means to be in a place where all my past as a dancer chases me and brings back painful memories. Also, Odette would try to avoid meeting with certain professor with who she ruined a genuine relationship.

I bet she didn't have any other choice as both Vacourbeil and Mérante insisted her to accept the job and she needed money to sustain her needs (maybe even the salary she received from Régine was so little...)

i think I'll made an ballerina au where camille's story will be a little brighter and with a chance for a good future, maybe I'll make regina her older sister to give camille a chance to fight her influence in real time... regina became what we know her by the beginning of the film, but what if camille and felicie had the opportunity to resist her desires and machinations, being on an equal footing with her? young ballerina regina, whose complexes are just forming, but she is not allowed to ruin people's lives in the future, lol

Frozen Leap: Life's Too Short (Reprise) - A B/L! FMV Tribute

A "Ballerina/Leap!" fan music video tribute, with Walt Disney Studios' movie "Frozen" outtake song "Life's Too Short" written and composed by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, performed by Kristen Anderson-Lopez herself. 

This is after the audition, when Félicie is taken back to the orphanage and Camille is left as the only option for the role of Clara. The two girls reflect about the way they behaved with each other, and realize that they've lost the oportunity to gain a friend. Now, they don't even have a rival, they're letf with only the knowledge that life's too short to compete with each other.
