Okay okay okay Barbie 2023 theory:
It's been established at this point that Margot Barbie is the main Barbie in her world, whether she knows it or not. Obviously, she's the main character, but she's also the central Barbie. She's the one hosting the party, she's the one that's got a spotlight on her, and she's also the one who looks most like classic Barbie, hell, she's the only blonde Barbie other than Kate McKinnon Barbie (I may make a post about thoughts I have on that at somepoint) but I think that her leaving Barbieland will cause some kind of power conflict: and I think that the Kens will try and rise up to take power.
In this pic, we can see that when Barbie is leaving, it says Barbieland,
Tumblr media
But here it says Kendom!
Tumblr media
Also, it appears that Allen, Alexandra Shipp Barbie, and another Barbie that I can't tell the identity of are in the car, as opposed to Margot Barbie and Ryan Ken like I had thought, but I'll get back to that later.
(Also, as far as I'm aware, no one else has pointed out the Kendom thing! I may have just missed something though)
I think that the Kens will possibly succeed in taking over, leading to the previously seen Barbie flags:
Tumblr media
To become the Ken banners seen here:
Tumblr media
And I think this will somehow lead up to the big Ken beach fight, which I think will happen if Ryan Ken and Margot Barbie return to Barbieland, as we see him and Simu Ken fighting (doing some weird?? Glitter thing?? Idk) here:
Tumblr media
And I think there may be some espionage here, with this scene showing Barbie and America Ferrara's character seemingly sneaking around with the other Barbies seen in the car (and Allen) headed towards the "Kendom" earlier (seemingly in Barbieland, if the colors are to be believed)
Tumblr media
TLDR: I think that once Margot Barbie and Ryan Ken leave, there will be a Ken uprising.
Or maybe I'm losing my mind over the like 6 minutes of content we have idk

okay so this one, def came from my delulu mind, but barbie starts and all the barbies and kens have this flat skin, which was mentioned by someone from the crew (i don’t remember if it was margot or greta) that they all had this uniform, flat makeup, no flaws, no shadows, “perfect”, like the plastic dolls are.
Tumblr media
but, at the end, the scene when ncuti ken says he just misses his friend barbie, and then emma barbie comes up, she has moles on her neck, the makeup is not perfect anymore. it’s normal, human. i think this speaks for itself.
Tumblr media
again, i don’t think it’s canon bc i theorize a lot, but i think it’s a cute theory

Barbie Fun Fact / Theory
Miranda is not a princess of royal blood
Tumblr media
Have you ever noticed that Miranda is the only princess at graduation who wears gloves? No other princess there wore gloves, only her. There is a theory over Disney princesses that says that princesses who wear gloves are symbolized as princesses by marriage and not by birth, in the case of Cinderella, Belle, Tiana.
What if this theory is valid for Miranda as well? Maybe she is about to marry the prince of Philadelphia and has been sent to princess school by the family of her future fiancé so that she can learn to behave like a princess since she was a commoner. This may also apply to Dame Devin who also wears gloves and is only important in royalty because she married a nobleman.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Well, but in the painting of Queen Isabella with her family she is wearing gloves, Tori (The Princess and the popstar, that btw takes place in the same universe as Princess charm school) also wore gloves, and they were not princesses by marriage. Leaving the theory and entering real life, gloves are luxury and especially protective accessories, realizing that in her solo portrait Isabella does not wear gloves, but in her portrait with the family where she is already queen she is wearing gloves, this is because queens wear gloves because they are always greeting others in meetings or public events.
The same goes for Tori who wore gloves at a public event, where she was supposed to greet several people (something she didn't do lol)
Tumblr media
What did you guys think of this theory? Does it make sense to you? If you like my blog, heart and reblog! Pls follow me for more 🤍💙

barbie theory?? (contains spoilers!)
Tumblr media
ok sooooooo i saw this theory on tiktok that since america ferrera's character never had a ken doll that's why she doesn't like ken in the way other barbies do and since we know a barbies behavior is based off the girl who plays with them it would make a lot of sense as to why our barbie just isn't interested in ken, but idk maybe i'm just spewing nonsense please lmk what you think and tell me if i'm wrong. :p

Interesting connections between Barbie princess charm school and Barbie and the secret door.
Number one: Dame Devin and Queen Adrienne wearing a very similar dress
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Number two: Queen Adrienne and Mrs. Privet having the exact same hairstyle
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Number three: Mrs. Privet and the Princess having very similar names
Tumblr media Tumblr media
idk if I’m on to something or if it’s just a coincidence.

barbie as a trans narrative. someone who no longer fits into the world they were assigned into. she has to go places she never thought she would go, meet people she never thought she would meet. she discovers a new exciting world where she is both dehumanised, objectified and abused but also feels more alive than she ever has before. she experiences earth shattering new things she never thought she would be able to experience. the severe difficulties of this new world breifly make her want to go back to her old one, but when given the option to be put back in a box and live her life exactly the way she used to, she knows she cant do it. she wont do it. she meets other people like her, who support her into self discovery and self acceptance. "Its like I'm a woman already' 'Welcome!' 'God, Is this what it's like?" "I don't really feel like Barbie anymore" "Being [a woman] isnt something you ask for or even want, its just something you discover you are?" being euphoric at going to her first ever quote-on-quote 'female' medical appointment, and being so excited to use her brand new name at the reception. accepting her new life with all its joys and all its hardships bc she knows it's the best possible life for her."I want to be the one imagining not just be the idea". CMON BARBIE LETS GO PARTY 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍⚧️

Barbie (2023) Plot Theory
Ok so the second trailer has come out for a couple of hours now. It still does not explicitly tell us the plot for the upcoming Barbie movie, but I have a theory about what it might be about:
Tumblr media
So, when I was watching the movie, I got these weird "The Spongebob Squarepants movie (2004)" vibes, weird, I know. At first, I just thought it was because both had this self-aware humour but then I rewatched the trailer and it all made sense
(And no, this is not a Boss Baby tweet situation, I swear I have seen at least 2 more movies than Spongebob)
Tumblr media
My theory starts here, where you can see a sign that says "Real World. This Way" Barbie and Ken are driving a car that seems to go towards the real world.
Tumblr media
This is semi-confirmed by the official promo account for Barbie The Movie making a difference between Barbies and Kens and Humans. This means that Barbie's path crosses with humans, and it might not be too crazy to assume that through the "Real World" road.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This would contextualize the video of Margot Robbie and Ryan Gossling filming Barbie that became viral last year:
Tumblr media
youtube
Here, all of the extras are wearing "real world" clothes, there is no color coordination or colorful outfits, and they stare at Barbie and Ken as if they'd seen an alien.
So by now, we have established that they go to the real world. The next question would be: why would Barbie go to the real world? Well, I did not need to look that far for that answer, because the new trailer's description gives us the answer:
Tumblr media
"To live in a Barbie Land is to be a perfect being in a perfect place. Unless you have a full-on existential crisis. Or you're a Ken."
So maybe the Barbie world with its colourful and gleeful cheer, and idyllic views becomes too stale for Barbie. Or maybe she has an identity crisis; as we see in the promos, all of the Barbies have a description: "This Barbie is a doctor", "This Barbie has a Pulitzer" What if Barbie wants to know who she is besides "just" Barbie?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
OK OK but what about the Spongebob movie thing? I hear you say.
Well rewatching the second trailer for Barbie, it suddenly clicked. This movie, just like Spongebob, features two endearingly naive and charismatic characters going for a "big boy" adventure, where they go to the outside world, facing real-world problems and trying to overcome them to the best of their abilities.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Or maybe I just associated them because both of them have iconic cars idk
So in conclusion, Barbie the Movie will be a self-aware comedy about Barbie and Ken going to the real world, having comedy but also heartfelt moments between Barbie and the humans as they learn from each other and form a friendship for life.
But hey that's just a theory....a (MatPat if you're reading this please hire me) Barbie Theoryyyyyyy
Tumblr media
Only one thing I am sure of, I smell a banger folks.
It's Barbin' Time!

Does anyone know if Weird Barbie was supposed to be a reference to the 1996 Olympic gymnast Barbie? I noticed in the scene where the girl was playing with her that “Spice Up Your Life” was playing and that came out in 1997.
I had Olympic gymnast Barbie back then and I remember it being really easy to make her do splits (and kind of hard to stop her from doing splits.) And I’m sure a lot of them looked weird after a year of being played with.
I’m not sure if this is already a common theory but it was my first thought when I saw Kate McKinnon’s character in the Barbie movie. Thoughts?

"Its Ken" "another ken" "its just ken"
could be playing with the fact that women in film have been accessories to the main hero (a man) since the beginning of film.
perhaps you could see this as a "payback" or showing men how it feels?
anyways barbie iconic and fuck men idk

Not About A Book, But A “Fun Fun Fun” Theory
So this idea has been rattling around my pink-hyped brain ever since that full trailer for Barbie dropped and I’m shocked no one is taking about this.
The music for the trailer is of course the Malibu beachy classic “Fun Fun Fun” by The Beach Boys, even getting its own parody of the album “Pet Songs” on the record player. However, it’s the way the lyrics are cut off from the main chorus that makes me think that not only is Barbie’s car going to be a bigger plot feature than expected, but Lord Business Will Ferel’s Mattel CEO character will be involved.
This is because the full lyrics to the song’s chorus are “and she’ll have fun fun fun til her daddy takes the T-bird away”.
Well, considering she’s going to the real world and ends up meeting this antagonistically framed CEO, it’s not a far stretch to say that she finds out some deep dirt/pisses him off to where he pulls a few strings and somehow leaves her without the easiest way to get back to Barbieland.
However, the song also foreshadows hope by way of Ken.
In the song, the singer consoles his gal with the lines:
“And since he took your set of keys
You've been thinking that your fun is all through now-
But you can come along with me
'Cause we gotta a lot of things to do now-”
Now this sets up the perfect opportunity for Ken to swoop in, either with another ridiculous ride or hell even the roller-skates, to lift Barbie’s spirits and then they set off to stop whatever plot the CEO has cooking up.

Okay I mentioned having thoughts on Kate McKinnon Barbie and I want to talk about them.
I will say this is more pure speculation than theory, I don't really have anything to support this, and it was literally an idea I had in the shower lol
Okay, so Kate Barbie and Margot Barbie are the only only blonde Barbies (at least as far as we know), and I thought that that was an interesting choice.
Basically, I think that Kate Barbie may have been the main Barbie at some point, and found her way to the real world on her own, but it possibly was been a doll instead of a person? I'm not 100% sure on the way it would happen, but I think that she may have become something of an outcast, as we see, and then Margot Barbie (Bargot? Marbie?) either came into being/the universe created her or something and kind of took the place of main Barbie.
Or: maybe Kate Barbie was a doll that a child owned that somehow found its way into Barbieland, causing her to be the disheveled Barbie we see her as.
Idk this, again, is all speculation. It's basically me seeing one thing and taking in and running.
Let me know your thoughts!!

Barbie Fan Theories : Queen Isabella's Death (12DP)
We all know how Queen Isabella from Barbie Princess Charm School died. But what about Queen Isabella from Barbie in the 12 Dancing Princesses? Alright, alright, I know you're confused, so let's just get on with it.
This article will be divided into 4 parts , just like the 'Delia and Edeline Dilemma' article.
How do fans normally think Queen Isabella died?
Proof from canon that she did NOT die that way
Conclusion
How do fans normally think Queen Isabella died?
Tumblr media
If you ever ask any barbie fan (or even anyone who just watched the film) they would simply say : "Queen Isabella died while giving birth to Lacey," and you'll say, "Yeah, makes sense. It's not easy giving birth to 12 daughters."
2. Proof from canon that she did NOT die that way.
You probably remember the scene in Barbie in the 12 Dancing Princesses where Lacey drops the bucket of leaves in the garden and runs away. Seeing this, Genevieve goes to comfort her and says, "You probably don't remember, but Mother always told us, big or small, there's a difference only you can make." This is the dialogue which introduces us to the film's quote "There's a difference only you can make." Most fans just focus on the quote (in bold) itself. However, if you notice a little before that quote, you can Genevieve uses the word 'remember' . This shows that clearly, Janessa, Kathleen and Lacey were definitely born when they heard their mother say it, but were too young to remember anything. In addition to that, Genevieve also uses the word 'always', indicating that the triplets have heard the word many times, so it isn't possible that their mother died shortly after giving birth.
3. Conclusion.
Tumblr media
I think it's pretty safe to say that Queen Isabella did not die after giving birth to the triplets. So please, don't blame Lacey. Isabella clearly died because of some unknown reason, leaving Randolph a widow. Perhaps an illness? Poison? Murder? Perhaps, she didn't even die, but merely disappeared, and everybody assumed her dead?

okay, a lot of you may have noticed this, but i didn’t see anyone talking about it, so here it goes.
Sasha starts the movie as the grumpy tween who only wears black/dark clothes, chains, as she should
Tumblr media
but then, she enters Barbieland and, of course, her outfit is magically changed. And now she wears a purple pink-ish hoodie, light blue jeans and white tank top. And we can see a hair curl.
Tumblr media
As the movie goes on, she becomes more and more invested in Barbie’s situation, and enthusiastically helps bringing other Barbies back to their minds. She has beautiful wavy hair, wears a cute pink scrunchie as well as the pink overalls and pink sunglasses, just like every other girl on the mission… and Allan, of course
Tumblr media
And, when the movie is coming to its end, she is wearing a WHOLE DRESS. A pink, sparkly dress, with wavier hair, hair clips, cute earrings and necklace. She was totally “Barbiefied” and it’s so amazing how comfortable she is. BUT her dress has this one thing: a black sash (sash!! sasha!! but that’s not the focus), it shows her personality from the start, it’s still there, but now she knows she can wear whatever she wants, and it doesn’t matter, she still will be the brave, smart activist she is. She can be anything she wants. And that’s what Barbie is all about.

Barbie Fan Theory
Madame Katerina not from the real world but from the magical world of ballet?
Tumblr media
As you can see in the film, everyone at the ballet academy has their alternate version as a character in the magic world, Madame Natasha, Dillan, Tara, Tara's father, and even the critics who only appear at the end of the movie. Kristyn doesn't have her own version as she plays the protagonists, changing shape over the course of the story, and Hailey doesn't have her own version as she traveled to the magic world with Kristyn. But... Why doesn't Madame Katerina have her own version in the magic world? And the biggest mystery of all, how does she know about the magic of the pink shoes? My theory is that Madame Katerina is a being from the magic world who fled to the real world, and she came out of there wearing her ballet shoes. To bolster my theory, I assume Madame Katerina is Dorothy from "The Wizard of Oz" (In case you didn't know there is a ballet about the Wizard of Oz too) and because she is the protagonist of her story, that's why Kristyn takes the form of the protagonists of the stories she goes through. Dorothy aka Madame Katerina used the red shoes to escape her world as she could no longer stand the tyranny of the Ice Queen. But why did the red shoes turn pink? Well, the logic is that it's a Barbie movie, so it's pink!

I just watched the Barbie movie and there was this one part talking about how the Barbies live in dreamhouses but no one knows where the Kens live, so I thought “What if the Kens lived in ant hole like houses called Kenholes?”. So I made this quick sketch before I go to bed.
I’m also going to Denver tomorrow so I might not post until evening.
