Hello there! I wanna try and see who I can I possibly get for Cookie Run Kingdom Matchup! ✨️

I'll refer myself as "Velvet", I go by They/Them but I don't mind He/Him pronouns at all especially I sometimes encourage it. I am a Non-binary Pansexual person. Been drawing for a decade now as I dabble in other mediums like traditional, digital, sculpture and etc. I am average height, short hair with an undercut and I occassionally wear glasses (only if am outdoors). I am kinda average but have a small chub that I am sometimes insecure about (cause My own relatives say I was way too thin and now I am fat which made me confuse and angry 😭)

Don't have a specific style to wear as I just dress for comfort but I am trying my best to try and dress in a more androgynous style and get out there more in an attempt to boost up my confidence.

I am friendly but I am mostly shy at first meetings as I tend to get worried what people think of me even if they haven't know me entirely and I am bad at approaching people or start a conversation. Though the more I talk to the person I open up more and show my true colors where I can be silly and share my ideas. A bit embarrassing but I can have a temper at times but it's because of my insecurities getting the best of me as my own fears becomes a reality that I'll end up not being okay emotionally, I am also a bit emotional that it's hard to control.

I do not have the best self-confidence as It's the complete opposite that I doubt myself entirely, I may joke around that i am the terrible but in actuality that's how I think about myself even if people around me says otherwise It's hard to kinda lift yourself up.

Sucker for love language especially words of affirmation as last thing I want is to face another break up or get cheated on cause I wasn't good enough for the person which is another thing I hate is being someone expecting me to level up to their standards especially if it's a HIGH one. I just can't nor I will ever be this perfect individual they want me to be. I am willing to understand and love my partner in everyway and appreciate who they are. I am a bit touch starve in a way but I won't openly invade someone's personal space though sometimes I just hug the person I am closest to cause I am bad at expressing words at times.

That got sad- LET'S MOVE ON! My hobbies as stated already at the beginning, I draw ALOT that I cannot be seen without my bag that contains my drawing equipment on it as I draw when I really wanted to whenever I go to places. Though I am fascinated to learn more like animal anatomy for reference purposes especially they have horns as I think they are neat to use in character designing! The theming for my drawings is not set as I kinda dabble for experimental purposes like horror since doing body horror and whatnot kinda challenges me to get out of my comfort zone but I hope to study animals more since I wanna explore more to the fantasy side!

I have a love for cute and weird things as it connects to my love for axolotls as they are both weird looking in a cute way! Even have a squishmallow plush name "Axel" the axolorl and other squishmallow friends, A manta ray (Lux) and basilisk (Cian)! Any trinkets that caught my interest I will be tempted to get and collect cause I am just easily amused by things even if it isn't a big deal to most!

This man is in love with everything you make, always peeking over your shoulder to see your current project. If you do painting he will hang at least one of them on his wall. When you experiment with body horror, he is not hanging around, look he loves you and your art but he cannot and will not deal with that. Tries to make sure you have your bag with you, sometimes he does forget and feels bad every time.

He does not care what you wear, as long as you're comfortable with it then he’s fine with the. If you do want his advice with newer clothing then he won’t say no.

Tries to be by your side whenever you meet someone new, if you want to leave then he’ll find a way.

He isn’t always the brightest, in general and when it comes to other people. So he might not pick up on your true feelings for a while, although he doesn’t let you make those jokes without attempting to cheer you up.

When he learns your love language he makes sure to use it, tries to say something at least once every time he sees you.

Doesn’t expect you to be perfect, that would be hypocritical. But as long as you don’t do something major to turn him away then you can do whatever. He’s so relieved that you’ll actually love him for who he is, not some fabricated version of himself everyone thinks he is.

Is always open for some affection, tries to initiate often but sometimes you beat him to it. When you hug him he’ll either turn fully and engulf you in his arms or just place his arm over your shoulder.

While he doesn’t fully understand the whole collecting that many trinkets and might question you every now and then, it doesn’t stop him from bringing you some everytime he sees you.

1. whats your favorite thing in your room?

my bookshelf! i love displaying my favourite things and i just reorganized it so ive got some of my scifi books n manga on the top w my itadori n urie kuki (tokyo ghoul: re) plushes on the top, nd more manga in the middle n the bottom has all of my horror novels nd my comic omnibuses (?) + some of my loose comics n 3 of my current fave funko pops (cass cain!, christmas batgirl, nd kaiba from yugioh!) + my saw boxset n aki hayakawa figure. it's got all my favourite things on it and it makes me happy :) its one of the few spaces in my room that's totally mine! (i share a room with 2 other people for context)

9. whats your favorite love language?

to do? probably acts of service. im rlly big on doing things for other people so they know i care. for someone to show they care about me? quality time i think. i really enjoy when people take the time to spend time with me because they want to. i like feeling important to people i guess.

sagan hawkes! he's a youtuber i enjoy a lot that does like video essays!! check out his videos on marble hornets, basilisk, and all 3 videos abt digital horror! they're sososososo good and his voice is so nice to me

not sure tbh. right now ill go with commissioning someone to draw an oc! it's smth ive wanted to do for awhile but every time i have the money i forget. idk i rlly wanna see someone draw like kit or dove or akira (i need to talk abt him more) pretty badly

3:00 am. when im not working 3 am is the worst bc it feels like im not gonna get enough sleep if i go to sleep right then and when i was working 3 am was this liminal time that stretched on forever bc it marked the 5 hour point of my shift and meant i only had 3 hours left before i got to go home.

Furry (FaaF) AU species thoughts:

Pale King is a wyrm that took on a more anthropomorphic mammalian traits, but still retains his overall dragon look. So he basically looks like a fluffy drake. Still has monarch wings but they're a spell now instead of a boody part, and resemble classic dragon wings.

White Lady is a nature goddess that vaguely resembles something of a mix of a rabbit (or hare) and a deer. Still at least partly a plant though

Grimm is a mix of a jackal, bat and other various scavengers. Possibly some reptilian or dragon traits. Nightmare King Grimm is the same thing but a patchwork plush

Unn is still a slug but this time an anthropomorphic one. At least partly made of slime and has a see-through stomach filled with acid.

The Radiance is a mix of an owl and a dragon or perhaps a basilisk?

The moths in general are owls. They have just 4 limbs and use their wings like hands, but The Radiance has 6 limbs with separate wings and hands

Herrah, and by extension deepnestians, are an original species I made up for this. Imagine a cross between a star-nosed mole, wolverine, and a wolf with 8 small eyes and long whiskers who's also an obligatory carnivore, and you get her.

Hornet is just a mix of this and a dragon. Long shaggy fur and mane, big ass ears, long whiskers, possibly horns, and a star-shaped nose too

Monomon is a jellyfish with mechanical enhancements to help her live on land. Her face is a visor

Lurien is some sort of colourful birth, possibly a peacock or a parrot

I'm blanking out on the great five. I'm thinking a pig for Ogrim, maybe some sort of bovine for Hegemol?

Shade Lord is like a giant sea dragon/serpent, with plenty of fish traits, think deep sea creature. The vessels are basically a mix of this + PK and WL, so their traits are all over the place. The shades become more serpentine and fish-looking.

Flower/PV mostly has traits from PK and WL, save for their dark colouring, which they get from SL. They mostly resemble a cross between a deer and a dragon with big ears. Still carnivorous/omnivorous so they have sharp fangs. Got feet covered in scales and hooves, though sharper and almost looking like talons, especially ones on their hands.

Still unsure about Ghost, but I'm probably gonna go with more rabbit and deer look for them than dragon. And maybe they'll look more like a sea serpent after taking over the mantle of the Shade Lord.

Lummis is a capybara, his parents are beavers. Still unsure about Petunia, but they give me fox or some sort of mustelidae vibes. Possibly a hybrid also, since originally they're a mix of two different mining bee species (pantaloon × tawny mining bee)

The buggycule's children are gonna look so fucking wild, man...

Dunno about Adamas (PK's mother), might keep her fluffy because she lives in cold, harsh mountains but she'd probably have far more dragon traits than her son

We uh... got through episodes 8-11 so a bit to cover!

Episode 8

Starting off the episode with Hooty. She was already invested.

"I'll never find a way into Amity's heart!" cue Rock face from here

So uh as much as she loves Hooty she still was weird out by him... swallowing King

"What is Hooty eating???" Cuz King was covered in some stuff.

Oh shit this is puberty talk I thought in a panic

Anyways!!! Bug dance was funny. She was re repeating DON'T YOU TALK ABOUT MY MOTHER for a while.

"HOW BIG IS THAT SYRINGE??"

Voice powers had her hyped actually, she was all "What is that?? HE HAS POWERS NOW???" Cute

Onto Eda!!

Oh she was not ready for Owlbeast to attack Dell lemme tell ya.

We got the Archivists part of the Owl Beasts memories and I popped off

She really loved the segment where Eda talked to the Owl Beast.

She has been obsessed with what Belos looks like under the mask ever since we first saw him

Don't mind me just sobbing inside at every Hunter/Flapjack interaction.

Was so so so worried for Owlbert there.

She was so entranced with the animation and so was I (with internal screaming though)

Episode 10

Again I found her watching this show at S3E1 at the intro part (all she remembers was Hunter and Vee thank god) so she popped off here.

"She's cute. I like her."

Before they knew it, it was already lunch time, getting close to party time.

A knock on the door made Willow glad she had already gotten dressed. She blinked in surprise when she saw Luz, Gus, and Luz’s mom at the door.

“Oh, what are you all doing here? It’s not party time yet.”

“We know, silly,” Luz said, “But we came to help you set up.”

Willow smiled at her friends and let them in. Gus whistled as he came in.

“Dang. There’s a lot more ready than I expected,” He said.

Willow giggled. “You can blame my husband for that. He’s been nonstop this morning.”

Hunter huffed.

“I wanted to make sure we got to it. Besides, surely a first birthday is a big deal, right? I want to do my part to make it look good.”

Willow leaned over to peck Hunter on the cheek.

“And you’ve done wonderful, honey.”

Gus stretched out his fingers. “Yeah. Nothing wrong with a little illusionist touch to help you out though.”

Hunter shook his head with a smile and let Gus help him with some finishing touches. Luz set down the cake on a table. It was a bright yellow with a bunch of little icing plants all around it.

“Amity and Azura are coming not long behind me,” Luz said.

“Have you two eaten yet?” Luz’s mom asked, always being a mom herself. Hunter and Willow looked at each other.

“Uh,”

“I’ll go get you something,” Mrs. Noceda said.

“You really don’t have to-“ Hunter started, but it was really a losing argument against the other.

Luz helped out with setting out other snacks and food for the party guests.

It wasn’t much longer before the rest of their friends and party guests arrived.

Holly perks up with a big smile when Amity and Azura come in. She holds her hands up towards them and makes grabby hands. Amity goes and picks Holly up as soon as she gets over to her.

“Happy Birthday little witch!” Amity exclaims. Holly immediately starts chewing on Amity’s shoulder, one of her favorite spots. Amity coos at the little one. She kneels down with her once Azura starts pulling on Amity’s pant leg. Azura had the same skin tone and eyes as Luz. But her hair and ears matched Amity’s.

“Holly,” Azura gets out with a toddler lisp. Holly let’s go of Amity to immediately hug her friend.

“Zuzu!” Holly cries out. Azura almost knocks Holly over in excitement.

“Careful, my little witchling,” Amity said, “Remember, gentle.”

Luz comes over to them. “Oh, I think they’re fine, love,” And picks her wife on the cheek.

Holly and Azura begin playing with each other right there on the ground, almost ignoring the others at the party. The parents did manage to carefully shuffle them back over to the safer spot in the middle of the main room though. The adults chattered and caught up. Lots of smiles and laughs. Everyone watching the cuteness of the little ones playing on the floor.

Vee had joined the kids on the floor, in her basilisk form, before Holly liked to chew on her tail.

When it got time to open presents, Gus insisted his come first. Holly looked around in confusion when the colorful box was sat in front of her. Willow leaned forward and guided her little hand to pull on the wrapping paper. Holly still seemed a bit confused about it, so Willow ended up unwrapping move of it. In front of them lay a book, that Gus opened with his powers. Each page played out the pictures on the pages. Holly looked on enraptured. She reached forward and tried to grab at one of the moving pictures. She whined a little when Willow gently stopped her from doing so. That would be fun at bedtime.

Next was gifts from Darius and Camila. They were hex squad palisman dolls, that the two had made. Holly squealed in delight, immediately going to hug them. Everyone around them awed at that.

Azura then pointed at her own and slid it in front of Holly once it was in reach. This was apparently a plush giraffe.

“From zoo!” Azura declared proudly.

Holly probably didn’t know what that was, but she hugged onto the plush anyways.

Off to the side, the collector leans over to King.

“What’s a zoo?” He asks.

When King seems unsure, Gus answers.

“Giraffes live with humans in cages!?” The collector exclaimed, looking at the giraffe plush in shocked awe.

Holly seemed to love all her presents. She was resistant to let go of any of them until the next one distracted her. Her little arms were only so big.

Towards the end, Hunter and Willow looked at each other, before Hunter then brought their gift for her over.

“Holly,” Willow said, getting her baby girl’s attention.

“Mommy and Daddy both worked on this special birthday gift for you, okay? Let’s go ahead and open this.”

Both of them helped her open it this time, although she was getting better at pulling on the wrapping. Before her was a little wooden bird figure.

Holly made an excited little baby squeak at that, and reached for it. Her other toys fell out of her arms in the process. Although her parents had to quickly keep her from putting it in her mouth. This time she wasn’t too upset about it though.

“Waffas!” She tried to say. Saying the bird figure looked like Hunter’s palisman waffles.

Hunter sniffed and smiled.

“Sure, baby. That can be of waffles if you want it to.”

Holly started moving the bird figure around like she was making it fly. Hunter and Willow leaned their heads against each other as they watched their little girl enjoy the present they had made for her.

It seemed to have been a successful first birthday party overall. After lots of playing with the new toys, Holly yawned, and ended up falling asleep on Hunter’s chest. They were all so glad Holly had a great first birthday. More fluffy times were sure to come.

This is such a precious story and it warms my heart how thoughtful and sweet everyone was to the birthday girl! ^_^ Also, Azura getting Holly a giraffe plushie is adorable and certainly less scary than the real thing. ;)

Dilf DADA professor Harry who has a story to go with every lesson. A way each spell and piece of knowledge saved his life or came in handy. Brainstorming sessions where he tasks his students to come up with different solutions for the things he experienced to inspire creative thinking. Harry who has a dueling platform in the front of his classroom and a basilisk skeleton missing two fangs suspended from the ceiling.

Harry who’s fond of all the pranksters of Hogwarts, the ones people say will amount to nothing if they don’t screw their head on right. Harry who picks them out of the crowd every year when it comes time for the brainstorming sessions because they’re creative and all the more suited for his teaching style for it.

Harry who is always pushing his students to ask why rather than to blindly follow along because an adult says so. Harry who cherishes the troublemakers, the pranksters, the ignored, and the hated. Harry who has a open, if lopsided, smile waiting for each of his students as he pushes them to becoming real people rather than to just fall in line. Harry who is known as a bit eccentric even for Hogwarts standards and often teaches walking or standing on his desk or on one notable occasion hanging upside down from the rafters because he could. Harry who makes sure his kids learn best for them and does away with the normal desk structure and seating chart (there are some available for the kids who like it) in favor of armchairs and plush carpets and bean bags. Harry who drags Hogwarts into the modern age of teaching with bitten short nails painted in chipped red and gold. Harry who educates himself to see warning signs (who remembers his own) and makes sure Hogwarts is the refuge it was always meant to be.

Tyranny of the Heart | Enver Gortash & You | Chapter 3

Your great-aunt looked displeased when you let her know you were leaving the ball early but, frankly, her disapproval did not greatly concern you. The only reason you attended in the first place was because she demanded it, and you felt you had more than fulfilled your obligation.

Moreover, thanks to Lord Enver Gortash, you had a small stack of books in hand that you wanted to start reading immediately. So you left the host’s mansion on foot, headed toward your great-aunt’s residence nearby. She didn’t like you walking alone in Baldur’s Gate at night, claiming that robbers and even murderers could lurk around every corner, but what she didn’t know wouldn’t hurt her.

Once you made it back to your room, you cracked open the first volume Gortash had selected and began reading. Its comparative analysis of economic policy in the Lands of Intrigue instantly grasped your attention, and you soon began taking notes in your battered travel diary. When you became too exhausted to continue, you slept for a few hours before awakening at daybreak to read on.

You finish the first book by breakfast time but, before you pick up the next one, you would first like the chance to discuss its contents with someone else familiar with the subject matter.

And Gortash DID say to let him know what you thought… which is why, at 8:47 A.M., you find yourself being escorted into Gortash’s residence, a narrow townhouse in the Upper City overlooking the Basilisk Gate below. In the candlelit foyer beyond the grand front door, the lord of the house awaits you.

“Why, if it isn’t my newest friend!” Gortash says. “I must confess, I had not expected to be graced by your presence again so soon.”

Or ever, he thinks to himself. It would have been better for you both if you’d simply taken the books and gone on your merry way.

But you hadn’t… so could it be so bad for him to indulge in your company a little bit longer?

“Good morning, Lord Gortash,” you reply. “Have you any time this morning to talk about Dionysus el Almraiven’s Coin and Chattel?”

“Not nearly as much time as I desire,” answers Gortash. “I have a very important meeting at midmorn with the Harbormaster.”

“So come, step into my office!” the lord continues, outstretching both arms in a gesture of hospitality. “You may tell me your impressions as I make ready.”

He doesn’t need to ask you twice, and a moment later you are seated in a plush armchair in the man’s cluttered study. Gortash sits across from you behind his grand oaken desk, making a perfunctory effort to review a stack of papers before him as you share your thoughts.

Gortash is adept at pretending to listen — he knows just the right amount of “hm’s” and nods to convince just about anyone that they are the sole focus of his attention. And he tries, genuinely tries, to do the same with you, to go through the motions while internally reviewing his talking points for the meeting now close at hand.

Yet he just can’t seem to divide his attention — your eagerness to learn and discuss is a breath of fresh air in an intellectually impoverished city like Baldur’s Gate. Gortash finds himself in ever-increasing admiration for your unbridled curiosity, and his desire to engage with you further also grows with each passing minute.

By the time a servant appears to let him know that his carriage is ready, Gortash has resolved not to try and avoid you any longer. He senses that you have the makings of a leader… and, based on your fearless resolve to speak your mind, consequences be damned, you’ve got quite a backbone too.

“I fear I have taken up to much of your time already, my Lord,” you say apologetically, standing up and beginning to gather up the items you brought along. To your surprise, however, Gortash signals you to stop by holding up his hand.

“You study policy so that you may govern wisely one day. Am I mistaken?” he asks.

“No,” you reply. “I do hope, one day, to serve as a leader among my people.”

Gortash nods approvingly at your words. “In that case, you would do well to augment your studies by witnessing good governance firsthand. If you have no other appointments today, then consider doing me the honor of shadowing me as I work.”

“Th-thank you!” you exclaim, shocked at Gortash’s generosity. “I have no other appointments today, so I — thank you. I appreciate the opportunity so much.”

As the two of you go to the waiting carriage, Gortash silently addresses his god. Lord Bane, he prays, destiny seems hells-bent to throw this woman before our path. I sense she may have a part to play in Your Grand Design.

I beseech You, he continues. Reveal to Your Chosen whether You see potential in Y/N L/N. Should You deem her worthy, I shall cultivate her for Your service by mine own hand. [continued on AO3]

Chapter 5 // Part 2

HII!! sorry if this chapter isn't good, I finished writing it around midnight and I'm super, super tired right now, but I hope you guys like this short chapter regardless :,)

Tick, tick, tick.

A devilish grin flickered, teeth flashing as the locket-watch swung back and forth. When it came into view, there was Evander, hanging by a thread pulled by the goddess. His body became less human with each moment, transforming into a doll—a cruel mockery of Wrenley's nagging paranoia. The doll shifted, morphing into another person—someone different yet so similar. Before he could make out who it was, he woke up.

Drenched in cold sweat, he jolted from his nightmare. Looking over at the boy hugging him like a personal plush toy, he calmed slightly and lay back down, pondering the dream. What did it mean? Who was it about? Why had he dreamed it? He decided to shrug it off—they had bigger concerns.

Ignisvisus—While exploring, they found an old book, likely belonging to warriors unfortunate enough to visit this hellish dimension. Ignisvisus was a pyroactive basilisk: three unnerving eyes on each side, fangs protruding like sore thumbs, and spider legs for arms. It seemed like something from a child's imagination, yet when you saw the sketch, it was unnervingly uncanny.

And that's what they had to face.

As they crossed the barrier—small for the creature but not for them—they saw it. Everyone shuddered with disgust at its uncanny appearance. Despite its almost comical description, the sight made them nauseous. But they had to do this for their nation. They readied their weapons and entered battle. It wouldn't be easy fighting this creature—Faelynn aimed at its eyes and weak points with her bow, Kenny wielded her gun-like weapon, and Wrenley tried to help however he could.

But Sereia recklessly put herself at risk, slashing with her sword left and right, even when the creature could obviously strike her. She seemed unfazed by near-misses from its tail, disregarding her own life. The others were unsettled but ignored it—despite their dislike of her, she was crucial to their battles. With only five of them, dropping to four wouldn't be wise. They warned her to be careful, to think rationally, but she wouldn't listen. She ignored their pleas completely. She climbed the writhing, bleeding snake, nearly reaching its head when the unexpected happened: its thrashing worsened, its tail knocked her off, and as she tried to stand—she looked up just as the tail swung down.

A sickening crunch. Blood splattered beneath the tail as it struck the same spot repeatedly. Though the creature was now blind, its writhing only worsened, smearing her blood across the ground. Her armor remained somewhat intact, but her body did not.

The others watched in horror, shaking and mortified—their most vital member crushed before their eyes in the most merciless death they'd witnessed. Between their shock and the creature's cries, they fought on, finally ending it when Evander stabbed its membrane.

The battle was won, but they remained shaken as they surveyed her remains. Wrenley had vomited earlier.

Now, only four remained.

3 Months; 3 Days.

Three months and three days had passed, and they still hadn't fully recovered. Only four remained, and now they faced their next challenge: the Umbraferrum—A towering, humanoid abomination with grotesque angular limbs forged from jagged, blackened iron. Its body was segmented, crudely pieced together, with gaps leaking unnatural, smoky darkness. Its featureless head had only a gaping void for a face, emitting unsettling whispers that unnerved all who heard them.

This would be their trickiest fight yet. Facing something so godlike wouldn't be easy—they needed to discover its weaknesses. Who better than Faelynn? Within minutes, she identified their options: Blessed Iron/Silver (their swords) and specific rituals or prayers of remembrance and peace.

They weakened it first, taunting from a safe distance, then struck repeatedly for maximum damage. None escaped unharmed. Kenny used her fire powers to melt the creature, Evander and Wrenley wielded their swords (well, Wrenley used Sereia's—she was dead now), while Faelynn shot from above, chanting memorized prayers until it finally perished. They executed everything carefully, knowing a single touch meant turning to ash.

Months later, they encountered their next horror: Tenebrovox.

Tenebrovox was a lanky, predatory creature with an emaciated, humanoid frame wrapped in leathery, cracked flesh. Its face split horizontally, featuring a massive, jagged maw instead of eyes, rows of needle-like teeth vibrating with an eerie hum. Where eyes should be, hollow pits oozed viscous black substance. Its elongated arms ended in hands with talon-like fingers that twitched with unnatural precision.

This creature proved both easier and harder to handle. They knew to drink night-vision potions and stay quiet to taunt it. Its heart lay inside, requiring a strike through its gaping mouth for an instant kill. Despite her slight frame, Faelynn's strength surprised them—she lifted Evander high enough to plunge his sword down its throat and into its heart. They had to pull him out afterward.

But the pulling sensation grew stronger and STRONGER.

Nothing would stop him now. Not Wrenley, not the king, nobody. As they traveled—two or three years now, who could tell?—the force grew more intense. They'd found what they sought, what HE sought. The final creature awaited, and Evander felt stronger yet lighter, ready for anything.

Past all those other "beasts," he faced the real challenge—AETERNAVORAX. An eldritch, godlike entity, the manifestation of endless decay and consumption. Its impossibly massive form shifted between skeletal, fleshy, and writhing void. At its core gaped an enormous mouth lined with concentric rows of jagged teeth, spiraling inward like a black hole. Writhing shadow tendrils, gnashing jaws, and clawed limbs poured forth, devouring everything in their path. Its "face" bore a grotesque, multi-eyed mask, each eye glaring with flickering cosmic light that pierced the soul. Its voice—a cacophony of whispers, screams, and guttural growls���echoed with countless consumed lives.

The others wanted to document it and return to the king, unwilling to risk more lives. For them, this crossed the line. But EVANDER? Nothing seemed impossible now. He'd face it alone if necessary. Ignoring their pleas—especially Wrenley's—he approached.

But before he could take another step...
