I don’t think anyone will ever understand how much I love Eva, so let me lay it out real quick.
Tumblr media
She is perfect.
She is baby girl.
She can do no wrong ever in her life.
I would hang the stars for her.
I would burn down and level Tantiss for her.
I would fistfight Royce for her and win.
She’s a precious baby and deserves the galaxy and more. 💕

(dif anon) So is Ashfur grooming Shadowsight a plotline you would keep/rework in BB? I'm not so keen on the way canon used it to retcon his epilepsy, but I do think a plotline examining how clerics can be vulnerable to abuse from StarClan spirits is kinda compelling
Shadowsight's epilepsy is staying in BB, the Erins can try and take it away again over my dead body
Yes, that's staying and BB!StarClan was reworked with unfairness in mind.
This time around, I'm considering the idea that Ashfur didn't work completely alone. After the events of Squirrelflight’s Horror, Silverpelt's divisons are starting to crackle the stars.
Skystar and the other more traditional spirits are losing patience with the peace that Fire Alone brings, and the ways that the code has been bent.
They feel that honor is being lost in their descendants.
Even angels disrespect the collective; see how Skypelt has its own heaven? With a demon in its midst? There is blasphemy even in the skies.
Firestar and the more modern pantheon are ferociously defensive of the choices of the living. StarClan exists for them; not the other way around.
Meanwhile, Mousefur has gone missing. Others start to blink out, too. This is causing panic... and Ashfur keeps it quiet that he's the only one who knows where they've gone.
The angels that plan action probably were a small group to begin with, radical spirits. Skystar and Ashfur are two of them, and Ash is the "youngest." So when he comes down to the mortal plane and betrays them, very few other angels knew what had happened.
(I might even have a few angels be doing the various supernatural things in that first book, but slowly, Ashfur is wittling down their numbers until it's just him.)
I'm still working out specifics, but the other angels that Ashfur has consumed are giving him a massive power boost. He can use this to jump between planes freely, and he's able to do some whacky things like weave dreams and pull nightmares out of the Dark Forest.
The most important unique power he has, which he can do ALL on his own once he's absorbed enough starpower, is blast Shadowpaw with a bolt of lightning. The electric current runs through Shadowpaw's brand new scar, giving him a connection to StarClan like he's a little radio tower.
Thing is... when StarClan is blocked off, the only signal he receives is Ashfur's.
So, Shadowpaw.
From the time he was very young, Shadowkit has had an unhealthy relationship to life and death
He watched a lot of cats die before he was old enough to really understand it, and the only one who came back was Heartstar.
His epilepsy was so severe it would have been terminal. He was prepared to die as a kit.
Tawnypelt took him to the Tribe to learn more about treatments, bringing back a method of refining chamomile to manage the convulsions.
When people come back from death, it was to serve "a purpose."
He feels like he needs to be special, like he needs to find the great meaning in his life. The reason why he's still here.
In BB, there can be guardian angels. Cats you knew in life who decide to watch out for you in the afterlife. Moleflight is Jayfeather's, Shrewface is Squirrelflight’s. Ashfur poses as Shadowpaw's.
THAT is how I plan to address my criticism. Ashfur DOES build a very personal, trusting relationship with Shadowpaw, pretending to be the one who's here to give him the destiny he craves. Pretending like he's someone looking out for him.
I actually LIKE how desperate the situation was in-canon and I want to stress how none of this was Shadow's fault, so I also plan to keep that they had very little choice. Shadowpaw trusts his angel completely, and Ashfur coaches him on saying all the right things.
The older Clerics are suspicious, but... what else can they do?
Also, instead of framing this all as something Shadowpaw needs to "atone" for, I'm going to make certain cats unfairly scapegoat him for bringing the Impostor into the forest. Shadowpaw himself agrees with them, blaming himself, but he has to learn it wasn't his fault.
He DIDN'T let anyone down by failing to live up to great expectations, and there's no way he could have known that Ashfur was using him. This never happened before, he always made the choice he thought was right and tried to make up for harm done, and he's not responsible for what his abuser made him do.
I actually want to have him figure out some of this by talking to DF demons, towards the end. Cats faaaar more responsible for what they did in life than him.
Ravenwing in particular, who was also mislead by a rogue StarClan spirit, but... ultimately decided that if StarClan was right in their judgement.
He was told (by Birchface, but he still doesn't know who it was in particular) to make three kittens unsafe by revealing their parentage. His choice killed three innocent children, and lead to the Queen’s Rights.
And StarClan was furious that he'd ever believe they'd want something so CRUEL.
And even if they DID want something so cruel... "Then they wouldn't have been ancestors worth following. And that's why I believe it's right that I'm here."
As a Cleric, he had authority on their behalf. And if they would misuse it through him, he wishes he could have just given it right back.
And Shadowsight's lightbulb goes Ding!
The very last thing Ashfur does in TBC, when the jig is up and he's about to be killed by the Lights in the Mist and a bunch of Demons who have come to defend their home, is swallow a Founder-- Skystar.
He takes the level of a true god, and reaches a nearly undefeatable level of power. Instead of black water, he's so large, malicious, and has a gravitational pull so massive it starts destroying the afterlife. It shatters the purgatory (Meadow of Young Stars) into floating cosmic fragments, and Heaven and Hell are set to collide.
Shadowsight confronts Ashfur, politely explaining that he's, well... done a lot of thinking, and, he doesn't really want what he gave him. "You can, uh, have this back!"
And blasts the lightning from his scar right back at him, like a chain, holding the screeching eldrich horror in place. Every ally he's made, here in the DF, come down from StarClan, and as Lights in the Mist, jump to his side. They can't hold down Ashfur, but they can hold SHADOWSIGHT
While they're all supporting him, Bristlefrost sees the one chance to get rid of him, once and for all. A clear shot. She bolts, pounces, and SHOOTS right into Ashfur like a falling star, knocking them both off the edge of the heaven he destroyed, burning up in orbit with a monster a hundred times her size.
And after that, Shadowsight has to go home and live with this.
He gave up the very connection that made him so special, and now he has to go back to being a Cleric without StarClan.
but the other Clerics accept this. They have to. They were all complicit in the choices that allowed the Impostor to rise.
What Shadowsight learns is... everyone was part of this. From those who made the follies with him, to the supporters and rebels against the impostor, to those who helped him realize his worth, to Bristlefrost who ultimately killed Ashfur.
He is valuable because living is valuable.
Everyone, and everything, matters. All cats have a role to play, and he was never alone.
I want to close him out in BB!TBC on a tea scene that parallels the various points in his life. Others used to prepare his chamomile treatments FOR him, in careful doses, because it is a very serious medicine. Now, at the end, he's the one brewing it.
A fully fledged Cleric, who realizes he's never been alone. Cats who love him were around him the whole time, making his medicine, and they'll love him even after he's given up his powerful gift. So now he's at the stage in his life where HE can make that medicine, share his wisdom with others, and find fulfillment in the skills he's acquired over a hard life brightening.

So, your Clear Sky post is absolutely horrifying, but it was very needed, so thank you. What are your general thoughts on tackling his abuse for the AU? Like you've said, pretending he's a good guy is not the way to go, but are you planning on toning down *some* of the situations, just to give some of the cats a break? Clear Sky is a very realistic depiction of abusers, but that seems to come across even without victim number 25, yknow? I'm very curious about how you'd like to go about this.
My most recent big change was bringing Slash back into the fold, because I realized that it was actually a disservice to not address where DOTC's themes dip into Colonialism. It's a hard topic, and I'm still trying to work out the details, but I realized it was important.
With how BB!DOTC is such a MASSIVE overhaul, to properly address abuse and the ways it impacts you, ableism and its violence, and xenophobia broadly, a huge reworking of Slash belonged here too. He's one of the greatest examples of how badly WC demonizes non-Clanborn cats. I shouldn't dance around it.
That's what I need to do with Skystar.
MANY of his victims have happier endings than canon, though. Bumble is one of the most famous, bumped up into a major character and directly responsible for the formation of ThunderClan. Bright Storm is taking most of Gray Wing's roles. Birch and Alder are getting examined, with either a father who wants his kids back or Milkweed as the mate of Misty.
A lot of people will die because of him, even more will be hurt, but I see BB!DOTC as a story about victims and survivors.
Others might grab POVs here and there, but as a response to canon which I feel is Clear Sky's story told in many parts, I center this rewrite around Thunder Storm. The path of kindness he marches down, with love and with anger, and the people he helps.
So BB!Star Flower...
Previously I was playing her as ENTIRELY just manipulating Clear Sky. She was loyal to One Eye and trying to get at Skystar to bleed him dry for 8 lives to sacrifice; but connected to Thunderstar over recognizing him as a victim who deserves her idea of justice. So, she offers Thunderstar the final kill, so her father will be grateful to him and he'll get power AND the death of his abuser.
(When Thunderstar looks upon Skystar, pathetic and neutralized down to one life, he thinks about the collateral damage that will descend upon the forest if he accepts the deal. He decides that he has found the line between Justice and Justification. Of course he wants the power to make his enemies cower, protect his people, and eliminate Clear Sky so he never threatens them again; that's not the problem.
He can still do these things. He wouldn't NEED the power of a war god to do so.
But if One Eye returns, he will be endlessly hungry, ruthlessly dedicated to revenge, and set out to devour the whole forest. Everything would get worse, and even more people he loves would die. It's where his desire to destroy a monster would lead to him BECOMING one.)
Even on its face, it was previously missing an element. There's a step between "Starf decides to bring One Eye back" and "Starf offers Thunderstar the final kill" that was bare. This is the piece that was missing-- That she, herself, is trying to reach out to the only person who's ever really understood her.
But more importantly... I do feel this topic belongs here, in BB!DOTC. Abuse is a MAJOR theme. SKYSTAR is a monster already. He's harmed two wives in BB (Bright Storm and Falling Cry) and played toxic games with all three kits (Thunder Storm, Pale Sky, Tiger Sky).
And I'd avoid Star Flower being abused... why? Because it's uncomfortable to confront the pattern that Clear Sky displays? That in-canon, he tries to cut all his victims into the same ideal shape, from Storm to Thunder to Star Flower? ...it should be uncomfortable. Everything that I described in Clear Sky Is A Monster is rooted in the same desire for control, power, and punishment most abusive people share, he just happens to be a severe example.
Yes. That includes how he treats his child and romantic partners. The parallels that are drawn between Starf and Thunder are there because he wants power in the form of obedience. Starf replaces the son as a narrative award for his "growth" of not killing random people anymore for a while.
A cookie cutter is an effective tool because IT ONLY MAKES ONE SHAPE.
You know what's more uncomfortable? Reading canon!DOTC and seeing someone who hurt you reflected almost perfectly in the character the writers think did nothing wrong. Because of "good intentions" that were not there.
I will say though, just to be clear; I don't see a purpose in being more than PG-13 about serious topics for this project. I promise none of my intentions have changed. Nothing will be more graphic or gorey than canon WC-- just more intentional.
I'm keeping the sacrifice because it's dope. No one is taking this from me. Girl Moment: Killed her awful husband 8 times to count as 8 sacrifices and offered the last life to her buddy as a show of good will. How else do you make friends outside of high school
But I know now that Star Flower NEEDS to keep the canon fact she has very little agency, UNTIL that moment she snaps.
She's sacrificing one abuser to try and bring back a bigger, badder one, because in spite of everything, her father One Eye always made her feel safe. Even though he promised her off to Skystar, and expected her to be willing to die for him. She's followed every command, every order, past the death of his mortal vessel.
The first, and only, selfish choice she's ever made was in reaching out to Thunderstar to offer him the power of her father.
Thunderstar's Justice is a story about a Thunder Storm at the pinnacle of his arc, how the survivors of his Clan are settling into the new normal after the carnage of The First Battle, how Skystar's arrogance brings a violent god to the Forest... and the connection Thunderstar makes with the daughter of a monster.

things you said under the stars and in the grass >> Cho Guesung, because you know he is our starry-eyed babie.
Tumblr media
things you said -> still accepting! things you said under the stars and in the grass.
couple: cho guesung x gender neutral reader rating: G notes: ??? unconfirmed r/s status? lmao
He's lying in the grass.
Arms and legs sprawled out, chin up, eyes wide open. You can make out the way they shine even in the darkness, the lights of the training grounds long since shut down now.
"Everyone was looking for you, you know," you murmur, not bothering to announce yourself. He knows it's you.
He knows it'll always be you.
Guesung merely grins, a lazy, sideways tilt of a thing as he pats the ground beside him. You settle down beside him, legs folded in front of you. It's clearly not what he had had in mind.
"You're doing it wrong," he rolls his eyes.
His hand wraps around your wrist and he gives you a tug. One time. And then once more, with purpose. You roll your eyes back at him before flopping backwards onto your back as well.
The grass scratches at the back of your neck and your ears and you shiver at the sensation. He wiggles beside you until you're pressed to his side, shoulder to shoulder, arm to arm. The bare skin of his arm is warm against yours, even in the cool evening air.
"I don't know why you enjoy this," you whisper. It's much too cold for May. "The grass is so prickly."
He merely snorts.
"Very romantic," he teases back -- but there is nothing teasing about the way he shifts his position, then.
Guesung slides one arm under your head, pulling you into his side easily; prickly grass suddenly replaced by his very solid, very warm chest.
If he can feel your breath hitch, he thankfully doesn't comment on it.
"Look," he whispers into your hair. "The stars look amazing tonight."
You twist slightly, glancing at the way his face is still turned up to the night sky, and then follow his gaze. Up, up, and up -- past the empty goal net, past the training ground stands, past the concrete of the building that has come to mean so much to him in such a short period of time.
Up, up, and up -- until all you can see are stars.
Endlessly, they stretch on, sparkling in the air as if someone has painstakingly sewn them into this blanket of peace and night.
"They're beautiful," you agree, voice so soft you wonder if he'll even hear you. His grip around your shoulders tightens. "I don't think I've ever seen them like this."
He hums in agreement, tilting his cheek until it rests against the top of your head. Your hair catches his stubble and you want to laugh but the moment seems too fragile for it. The stars are too delicate. You're not sure when you'll get a moment like this with him again.
After all...
"I'm going to see the stars in England, too," Guesung promises quietly. You wonder if it's meant more for him than you. "I'm going to see the stars in England. Maybe Spain. Maybe Germany. But definitely England."
Something catches in your throat and you force yourself to continue staring up, up, and up.
(After all, come the end of this summer, who knows when he'll be here like this again?)
"I know," you murmur into the fabric of his shirt. He still smells of his shampoo and body wash and freshly cut grass, still soft and worn post-training. You try to commit the scent to memory. "You'll see them in England. I know you will."
The silence that stretches between the two of you after that feels like the stars. Endless. Fragile.
But then his lips are on your forehead, brushing a soft kiss there. Barely touching, but quietly hopeful in its own gentle, careful way. You grip at his shirt more tightly, your heart pounding.
"You'll see them with me too," he murmurs against your hair.
You can't tell if it's an invitation -- or a question.
Regardless, you shift slightly to look up at him. At his eyes, still shining in the darkness, staring right back at you. The prettiest stars you've seen all night.
"If you want me to," you reply.
This time, his smile is full. Wide and sincere and warm as he pulls you in, strong arms firm and secure around you.
"Of course. I want you to be there," his voice comes rough, when he finally replies. The sound seems to resonate deep in his chest and it shakes you right through from your fingers to your toes. "I always want you."
He knows it'll always be you.

BIG-BROTHER MURDER STARS- Week ONE
I had seen The Hunger Games ones and thought? You know what would be more fun? Putting the moot's ocs in a REALITY TV competition show
Tumblr media
Let's meet our cast: Althea+Vesper @dread0narrival
Tantrum+Colin @derekgoffard
Ronny+Archer @feral-mouse Grey @redroom-rainbowguts Jilly @numbaoneflaya Ick @weirdo-canniboy The rest belong to me, I had spaces to FILL 😭
The competition begins:
here's some music to set the vibes
Tumblr media
Alethea, Hugo, Hurrl, And Lilith enter the house. The competition is tough, but ultimately; Lilith and Alethea make it through to the next round!!
Tumblr media
The next group to enter the house consists of: Colin, Kalani, Ronny and Wolfgang. Somehow every member manages to slip and fall and Ronny makes it through to the next round.
Tumblr media
Once Ronny celebrates his AMAZING win, Archer, Ick, Jilly, and Tantrum enter the house. Tantrum ACED the table maze quickly and advanced in the competition.
Tumblr media
The last four to enter the house are Chrysalis, Grey, Squirrel, and Vesper. The two houseguests with the quickest time were Chrys and Squirrel.
"The players who made it to the final round competed for one-by-one in a live competition. The HouseGuests would each have to race across a series of pedestals and make it to the other side of the yard, locking in their time with a buzzer. Some of these pedestals were not sturdy. If a HouseGuest fell off a pedestal, they would have to restart. The HouseGuest to complete the course in the fastest time would be the new Head of Household."
Tumblr media
Lilith won the first HOH of the season
Unfortunately, the houseguests who competed in part two of the HOH competition had to choose a Mystery Punishment from unmarked envelopes. 😞
Tumblr media
Althea, Squirrel, Tantrum, and Ronny all become have-nots. This means they'll sleep in the Have-Not-Room (uncomfy beds, terribly decorated) take cold showers, and only be allowed to eat SLOP for a whole week 🫢 And Chrys won $5000 because of course, she would 🙄 BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE "HouseGuests have the opportunity to compete for immunity in the Safety Suite competition in the week of their choice during the first three weeks. The winner of the competition can also grant immunity to one other HouseGuest, who will receive a punishment."
Tumblr media
Grey, Hugo, and Hurrl competed in the first week's Safety Suite, this means they CAN NOT participate in the Safety Suites moving forward! Hugo pulled out the win and chose to share his immunity with Kalani. This means neither of them are eligible for eviction this week! Unfortunately, since Hugo chose to share the power with Kalani, she is now forced to wear a star-shaped mascot costume, complete with comically large white gloves for the remainder of the week.
Tumblr media
^the costume btw
AT THE NOMINATION CEREMONY:
The week had just begun, was Lilith ready to make a big move?
Tumblr media
"I have nominated you, Alethea, and you, Vesper. This isn't personal, Alethea, you were RIGHT THERE during the HOH competition, if I wanna win, I gotta get you out now... you're kinda... you're kinda scary not gonna lie. And Vesper? I don't really have a reason, your name is Vesper, and that kinda rhymes with whisper, and that makes me think you're sneaky 😗Anyways, this nomination ceremony is ADJOURNED" - Lilith
AT THE VETO MEETING:
The HOH (Lilith) And The Nominees (Alethea, Vesper) compete, along with three other houseguests at random draw.
Tumblr media
Lilith, Hugo, Althea, Jilly, Vesper, and Chrys compete in the veto competition. Whoever wins is given the chance to veto one of the HOH's nominees.
Tumblr media
ALTHEA WINSSSS
Tumblr media
But that means Squirrel and Vesper stay on the block 😞 one of them is going home this week. BUT WHO CARES ABOUT THAT, HERE'S WHAT'S HAPPENING SOCIALLY
Tumblr media
Of course, Kalani would be the one impressing the house. She's just so sweet, she can't help it if she's liked. AND LILITH?? THE HOH HERSELF- yeah I bet she's just keeping all the houseguests during the night, being annoying, yapping away. But and Alliance 👁️ Isn't that a sight to see.
BUT NOW IT IS TIME FOR EVICTION NIGHT:
Alethea is the first to vote tonight, She was on the block with Vesper, but she did spend the week alongside Squirrel as a Have-Not, lets see how her vote lies:
Tumblr media
Well, lets see how the rest of the votes lie-
Tumblr media
BY A UNANIMOUS VOTE, VESPER HAS BEEN EVICTED FROM THE BIG-BROTHER HOUSE 😭😭😭😭
