My impression of Ragatha so far (past episodes included):

- She’s used to talking to people in a way were they’re like kids, because she normally uses her charm and positivity in people younger than her. They normally work, and she’s used to being acknowledged by others with her sweet personality.

But in the circus everyone is a grown adult (even if some of them are a little immature—ahem—Jax). And with most of them accepting that there’s no hope in that world, Ragatha’s peppy spirit has no effect on them. But she’s too used to being successful in getting through someone with her personality, so she kept the act up until it’s mostly an ‘act’ now.

Without realizing it, her attitude has become toxic positivity. It doesn’t work on anyone, but it is affecting her. Pomni thanking her in episode 3 was probably the first time in a while someone showed appreciation to her caring nature. Seeing Pomni go to Gummigoo just reminded her that she only acknowledged her once, and had shown more empathy to someone who won’t even remember her by the next adventure (Gummigoo’s expression says otherwise, but I’m talking in Ragatha’s pov).

Her saying “I wish someone would flirt with me…” was more of her wanting to be recognized for who she is. That one ‘thank you’ she got from Pomni was appreciated, but wasn’t enough for her. (This is talking outside of shipping ofc. We’re still free to use this for shipping purposes hehehe)

Additionally, as soon as Caine gave them an adventure where someone needs to take charge. Like a BOSS. Ragatha felt some sort of jealousy that she wasn’t chosen for the responsibility.

ngl as someone with d.i.d. (dissociative identity disorder) the tiny jax au is really, comforting? honestly? even tho thats not at all whats happening and the situations are completely different its kinda nice seeing something similar being portrayed where the "second personality" isn't "evil".

the fact regular jax causes all the issues because hes a little bitch™ and tiny jax is just along for the ride (while being scared) is just a really refreshing take on this sorta idea. regular jax may be a victim to the circumstance hes under, but so is tiny jax. neither asked to be in this situation, and whether regular jax likes it or not he's stuck with a second person in his body. he's gonna have to adjust to it if he wants things to stop getting worse (even if adjusting to it is only temporary since in doing so might cause it to go away).

it is stressful to deal with sharing a body with even just one person. communication is key to make things work without causing a massive headache. it is scary to suddenly black out and not know what happens when you aren't in control. it is also terrifying to be threatened and yelled at for existing when you didn't ask to. the only way to get better is to communicate and accept the situation you're in instead of fighting it (more of a lesson regular jax needs to learn then tiny jax. especially since tiny jax is literally just a kid who did nothing wrong).

even tho its all unintentional, a lot of stuff just kinda hits. ofc this isn't me claiming this situation is d.i.d., im very aware its not. just wanted to share how despite it being a completely different thing, it's still relatable. really good au 10/10. my bad for the accidental mini essay. i'd be doing our english teachers proud right now with this shit.

Jax and Ragatha used to be friends but after a while Jax couldn't tell how genuine she was being (like Gangle said ep 4 and Jax rant during stargazing about being told you're appreciated all the time) and they stopped being friends. Now that Jax is starting to befriend Pomni, Ragatha doesn't think Jax deserves Pomni and also Ragatha is hurt that nobody think she Is genuine (she probably does this forever nice and good persona due to her mom being awful)

Why and How I Relate to Pomni. (A yapping session)

TW: A bit of Venting and Sensitive Topics

Hey guys, I just felt like I wanted to do more of a personal post explaining my hardcore love for Pomni as a character. I’ll just get straight to my points.

In the pilot, we see Pomni suddenly just appear in the circus, which I can relate to, as my life as a kid I frequently moved from place to place, sometimes suddenly and out of nowhere. Her anxiety which she had during her first day also means something to me since I have had pretty severe social anxiety my entire life and just in general due to frequent moving. I found her trying to find the exit relatable as well since I have similarly tried desperately to find answers or solutions to all problems in my life, so there’s that.

In Episode 2, we see her nightmare, which I heavily relate with; as I overthink certain things from time to time, like relationships and even how this show will end. But after being woken up by Ragatha, we can see she is quite disgruntled and just done with it all, pretty much assuming everyone hated her, (another relatable thing of her to me). Pomni talking in an annoyed and tired tone just feels how I feel in some days, especially when she didn’t want to be treated like a child and “hyped up” by Ragatha. Her getting tossed out the truck by Jax even meant something to me as well, as I saw the scene of the people in my life who treated me like crap. And then there’s her talk with Gummigoo, and I fucking love this scene. Pomni just showing her compassion and empathy despite being in personal turmoil really hit me at home, (there is a reason one of the quotes in the scene is on my bio). Then they go back to the rest, and blah blah blah, Gummigoo “dies”. But the funeral scene REALLY HIT ME HARD. Everyone crying or at least, feeling sadness really hit me hard, it was like seeing family members cry. But once Pomni found hope that she wasn’t alone, she will be missed if she’s gone, and smiled, I cried for TWO DAYS. Just a beautiful scene, beautiful episode.

In Episode 3, we see her hanging out with the rest and I just really relate to in this scene; she seems like annoyed doing some things with them, which hit home, as I am not a big fan of doing things, or even hanging out with people at all, (other than family members ofc). And once the gang go on the adventure, we can just she how vulnerable and sensitive she can be when it comes to horror related things, which I love, as I myself am very sensitive to jumpscares, sudden loud noise and just horror in general. But when she and Kinger are sent to “Hell”, I can just feel for her in these scenes. Her being overwhelmed with the horror, and just everything in general. (Not gonna lie, when she was shown being possessed in the episode 3 trailer, I genuinely thought she was finally going to abstract). Anyways, after her possession, she breaks down and starts crying. I WANTED TO JUMP INTO THE SCREEN AND GIVE HER ALL SHE WANTS! Afterwards, Kinger and Pomni have their heart to heart, and the hallway scene afterwards is just SO FUCKING BEAUTIFUL! When they finally meet up with the others, Pomni tells Ragatha thank you for looking out for her, which I really relate too, as I see this as myself apologizing to loved ones after a bit of tension.

Episode 4, in my eyes is the episode where I mostly and HEAVILY relate to her. Pomni is sent and just forced to stay at the register since she cannot cook for shit (I relate to this since I fucked up making beans once, yes I fucked up beans). Ahem anyways, Gummigoo fucking returns, Pomni freaks out, and begins trying to make him remember her but to no avail. This scene REALLY HIT HOME, as I literally was like this seeing old friends in my school I returned to in January, and I was initially really bummed out I wasn’t noticed (I was gone for over a year, I really should have expected not being noticed). And then there was the scene with Gangle, and when Pomni offered to close the store for her, I WAS APPLAUDING LIKE A PROUD PARENT/FATHER, but anyways; I fucking love this scene; maybe even my favorite in the series so far dare I say, Pomni offering help despite her struggles that day really hit my heart, it really reminded me of helping other people in school even if we knew each other or not.

THE AMAZING DIGITAL CIRCUS EPISODE 4 DISCUSSION NOTES!!!!

TALK TO ME ABOUT THE AMAZING DIGITAL CIRCUS!!! IM BEGGING YOU!!!!

Spoilers ahead :D so many spoilers :D

IVE GOT THOUGHTS!!! That can most conveniently be organized in sections of character analysis… Some Jax and Ragatha are in there too but these are the MAIN ones I have the most thoughts on/thoughts that revolve around them but still include other characters. LETS GO!!!

CAINE!

Allow me to indulge in my PERSONAL favorite thing first before being more general- im getting these out of the way first cause theyre less THIS EPISODE and more how this episode adds to the rest of his character and omg i love him sm….

I loved when Zooble and Jax talked about Caine. I love when Caine specifically is talked about. Cause like- people's opinions of him. I care about a lot. itll ALWAYS be interesting, cause hes THE GUY. THE MAN. THE DUDE THAT PUTS THEM THROUGH ALL THE SHIT THEY HATE AND MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE “REAL” FEELINGS. He’s a really unsuspecting goofy character at a glance who (telling from ep 3) like actually KINDA cares?? Cant tell if it’s for more selfish reasons or what, but he’s clearly PROGRAMMED to care about his guests, so he does.

And some people (zooble) are kinda SCARED OF HIM and FOR GOOD REASON???? Like yeah no shit, Jax. Caine has the power to do ANYTHING including killing you…torturing you for all eternity. fun stuff like that!

But he won't! cause hes not programmed for that. So he wont.

Also side note: Caine said in the last episode “Zooble! look at this cool bee I drew!” and on his desk he just has a shitton doodles of bees. This is all he does in his free time.

Second more important side note: Caine glitching out at the end feels important, but also feels like just a comedic moment. and idk what to make of that. LOCKING IT IN MY HEAD EITHER WAY CAUSE IT CAUGHT ME OFF GUARD ON THE FIRST VIEWING SO MUCH 😭

LAST THOUGHT: I would LOVE for him to gain sentience cause I have a sneaking suspicion he doesn’t right now telling from how he’s literally PART of the circus they’re in… HM… Cause telling from Gummigoo it IS POSSIBLE for AI to gain sentience…. Foreshadowing perchance… OH YEAH, GUMMIGOO!!!

GUMMIGOO!

HE TOTALLY RECOGNIZED POMNI AROUND THE END OF THEIR INTERACTION. his face changed when she said that none of this is real in front of him, HE KNOWS. SHE KNOWS. but they also understand Caine wont let him stay. Kinda like a Sans (kill me) moment of “ik none of this matters, but since it wont last, I’ll at least be happy doing it!”

Something I love about the writing also…This being a very rushed adventure that Caine didn't get to spend a lot of time on explains WHYYYYY GUMMIGOO IS IN THIS. LIKE THIS WASN’T JUST FOR THE PLOT IT ACTUALLY MAKES SENSE???? all of the NPCs in it are unfinished or redos. He didn't have time to make new ones. ***I JUST LOVE THAT THAT'S SO SMART***

GANGLE.

i'm obsessed

Her taking off that smile mask and actually smiling with her real face KILLED ME. shes learning to be her authentic self and I love it

Jax constantly breaking her happy mask, making her reveal her true sad face feels like the equivalent of bullying the quiet kid like- she's always just pretending to be happy/okay, but then him harassing her makes her “break character “ (EH??? EH??? BREAK??????? CHARACTER????????? MASK?????????WHAT??????)

But Gangle going crazy I think is a sortaaaa “metaphor” (there's a better word but I cant think of it) for how pretending to be someone your not can make you the person you hate. Like she was kinda abusive in this episode… People who are awful people were all victims once, technically- not ALL ofc cause nothing is black and white n all that, but you get me-

IN GENERAL…

i think the motif of this episode was pretending to be someone you're not, for whatever reason you have. Not just for Gangle! For Jax, its to entertain himself, keep em sane. And for Gangle, its for everyone else. But for RAGATHA…I feel its both. She wants to feel useful/helpful for herself for selfish reasons BUT she also just wants to be useful/helpful for everyone else for kind, caring reasons. I already got that vibe before this episode, but Gangle talking about how she cant tell when Ragatha is being genuine or not makes me very confident this is the case

I thought Gangle was gonna abstract in that last bit of the episode, and im like 99% sure that was intentional. I love that a lot… I love how this show is written, abstracting was introduced right away, so now its a looming threat across all these characters youve grown to love, appreciate, and relate too

Idk what Gangle getting hit by the truck was a reference to, but part of my brain rot theorizing in me wants to say this digital world is basically Hell and thats how she “died” before getting here. Doesnt make any godamn sense and the truck thing totally has other explainations I JUST CANT THINK OF ANY!!! PUTTEM IN THE COMMENTS BELOW AND DONT FORGET TO HIT THAT BEL- *gets shot*

The Caines will most likely be nerds about their interests before duking it out because Harlequin!Caine finds out that Souls-like!Caine imprisoned a bunch of humans lmfao

Harlequin!Pomni would refer to her Souls-like counterpart as a 'wuss, but not without potential', which might lead to THE GIRLIES FIGHTINGGGGGGGGGG (not seriously though)

Souls-like!Ragatha would be unnerved by how calm Harlequin!Ragatha is. It gets easier, but there is still some uncanniness that occupies the air

The Jaxs would either try to one up each other much to the chargrin of everyone else in their surroundings, or team up against everyone to do the biggest prank in history because ofc they fucking would

Harlequin!Gangle would be lowkey jealous that Souls-like has more confidence than she does, but they will so bond over their inner theater kid selves

Z and Zoob will speak a few words. And then that's it, they'll leave one another to their own vices, a fairly short but normal meeting

Kingr would be happy to finally have someone who has the same amount of interest in insects as he does, those two would most likely bounce off topics back-to-back from one another, a seamless transition

I think I have to move on.

You may have noticed that all of a sudden my posts have become less and less frequent. That's not on purpose I simply don't have the motivation to keep this ask blog going. I made this blog at the peak of my TADC hyperfixation because I knew it would give me the boost to work. At the start I made like, what? 2 a day, wowzas! Then it became like every other day posts. It's not that I don't enjoy the blog, the ship, the asks. Hell, the asks were the best part of this, I love just seeing what you guys come up with for these three and I get to do the even more fun part of drawing the answer.

But I still have no motivation to keep this going. And I have fixated on something else if you follow my main.

So, thank you for being here and still liking my posts even if I hadn't posted often. This was the most fun I've had and being my first ask blog I ever created just makes it more important to me.

I probably won't ever revive this blog but I'll keep it open for you. And if you want to see what the story I originally planned out was gonna be then check below the cut! I'm not gonna lie. Most of the stuff was just created along the way of drawing. I was like, huh this would be cool let's add that in. And ofc I didn't get to any juicy lore in this but it would've been rushed because I didn't plan beforehand... which you probably could tell xd

For Pomni, here's the plot twist: she's dead and her conscience was updated into the game to keep her somewhat alive. She worked in the place that created the game, she even took part in putting people in there. The entire game was just an expirement to test if immortality was possible, but of course.. everyone goes insane in there so they have to keep on and keep on trying with more and more people to get anywhere. They wait until someone goes to edge of absolute insanity and that's when they take them out of the game, their bodies are still kept alive and they go back to normal. They forget everything that happened while in the game. For Pomni she died just after her conscience was converted to the game, for others they were forced to go while alive. Who killed Pomni? Well, her boss, the head of the experimentation. Why? Idk 😭

For Jax, I gave him a dark story. He was isolated in his home and kept away from the outside world, which is why he lacks empathy, because he simply doesn't know how to feel that way when he never really had knowledge of emotions outside or even inside his home. His father was emotionally and physically ab4sive so.. that didn't help. He latched onto his mother the most but they never saw eachother often. That's all I had for him in mind.

For Ragatha, she lived in the country on her own land with her husband. Yup! She had a husband and a daughter too. Husband was a total jerk and she couldn't leave because she didn't want their kid to experience separated parents. She's a doll in the game because it resembles the doll she made for her daughter.

I also had some plot that I made up in my mind. Like.... Pomni at the end would be the last one alone in the digital circus. That being since she's dead she would just be yknow. Dead if she left the game. Jax and Ragatha leave but only because Pomni forces them. Again don't know how, I probably would have made it up while I went along with the story. So, Pomni is just there alone, with Caine. And she lives like that for eternity. She doesn't go insane anymore and it isn't as lonely as it used to feel like. It would feel like home kind of. But she would be there, longing for her partners forever unless she decides one day to just. Yknow, die..

Also since Jax and Ragatha would forget everything after they leave the game, they just don't remember they were in a relationship and would live their lives like before. Sad and lonely.

taking a short break from todays treat making to work on requests! so far ive made meringue cookies, lemon curd, and chocolate pretzels! woo! it doesnt sound like much but these are real huge batches </3 rolls around this might be a little short, though, since im dry on ideas and i still got stuff to do TToTT

CAINE:

spoils you, a lot, as well as kind of babying you. will it do you any good in the future? probably not, but for now it works since hes putting you before everything else. makes sure IHAs arent too hectic, though... it took him a while to find that sweet spot between too crazy and too boring, caine isnt really good at mellowing himself out.. has probably spooked you at least once on accident since he has this large booming voice and hes kind of out there.... he didnt mean to startle you, please dont cry! he makes funny faces to try to make you stop crying

POMNI:

very bad at comforting someone when theyre crying and i think this would still be an issue with you even if youre her kid/adoptive kid.. younger sibling... something.. tries the basic stuff you do to calm a crying kid down; funny faces, candy, toys, ect ect. over time she does get better at identifying what you need in scenarios where things are upsetting you. speaks for you a lot of the time when there can be a possible conflict, kind of shields you from things that could hurt you out of fear that something is going to hit too hard. long run its not ideal, but similar to caine, it works in the moment, you know?

RAGATHA:

very sweet and patient with you, hardly ever raises her voice at people and she will never raise her voice around you. gently urges you to try to speak for yourself and stand up for yourself when someone is being a little mean (though, to be fair, i cant see any of the current cast being intentionally mean.. we'll get to jax in a minute hush). very encouraging, too. kind of a mix between letting you be sensitive, but also urging you to try to get a little tougher, you know? never makes you do things youre not comfortable with doing, though. lets you hang out in her room if youre getting too overwhelmed with something, lets you play with and mess with some of her sewing stuff (supervised! needles are sharp!)

JAX:

teases you but is gentler with you, though with how sensitive you are sometimes even softening himself isnt enough. while the others try to shield and protect you from the world around you, hes likely going to try to push you to be more... bold, tough, you know. not sensitive. i feel that he might be too pushy with you and may thrust you into the deep end before youre ready for it, so either youre going to need to speak up, or someone else will... generally not ideal since hes more of a big brother figure that kind of messes with his younger siblings rather than a parent.... shrugs.. does stand up for you the second someone else makes you cry, regardless of if they do it intentionally or not

KINGER:

the dad. the father, the papa. the grandfather, even. maybe its because i hc that he already has kids out in the real world and he instinctively knows what to do with you... but i think he would be really good with you developing a thicker skin. does not shame you for who you are, though. actually i feel like he would also remind you that being sensitive isnt a big deal and it doesnt exactly make you weak compared to others. it just means you have big emotions, all the better to connect with people, you know? good dad. probably plays catch with you... those talks kids and dads have when theyre fishing that carries a life lesson... or maybe admin was introduced to really specific scenarios growing up... shrugs

ZOOBLE:

cross between jax and pomni i think. zooble is bad at comforting people, but i do think they would push for you to grow a spine and snap back at someone when theyre messing with you. though unlike jax they dont immediately throw you into it, rather i think they would have one on one time with you where you guys just talk about the stuff... still stands up for you, though they tend to give you a minute to speak for yourself during situations to say youre not okay with whats being done to you. probably teaches you little comebacks and insults to say to people when theyre being assholes

GANGLE:

honestly? she can relate. i can see this going two ways... perhaps being both at the same time...? shrugs.. she can relate to you because shes also sensitive, and it leads to you guys having this sweet sibling connection where you guys dont feel so bad for crying so easily. or it inspires gangle to try to be tougher, for your sake, so you have someone to lean on during tougher days. i think both are nice, in my opinion. similar to ragatha she lets you hang out in her room, drawing.. you both use art to express yourselves when wording things get too hard

this ep was sure Something. I LOVED IT tho i feel it was more jax then ragatha but feel free to not agree. ANYWAY ragatha story? Hurt, it was so well written tho. It shows how much of a troubled kid and how much it effect her. It hits tho i still wish we saw more of her. SO: Caine is still the ringmaster, and the others may or may not be there, but for what I was specifically thinking, this is a sort of replace-the-cast thing. The most obvious two are Gordon as Pomni and Coomer as Kinger. I was thinking Bubby could be a Zooble equivalent, Benrey as Jax, and Tommy as Ragatha. Darnold would be left in Gangle's spot (though the two are nothing alike), and Forzen would have been Kaufmo.

I picked and chose names based on how weird they were GFDHJSAK

So, normal names like Gordon or Tommy got replaced, while unconventional ones like Benrey and Bubby are the same.

Leodoll is a play on Leo, meaning lion, and doll, which is. obvious.

Asher Blau literally means "happy blue." They're both Jewish names (from what I understand, PLEASE tell me if I'm wrong here), and of course Asher is a double play on Ash, like fire.

Beybend is a play on "Beyblade," while also suggesting Tommy's new flexibility

Benji Calzone is funny

Gotcher is a play on tamogotchi and Kinger's name (or, the last part of Coomer's original name)

The designs are also a play on their personalities, going off the theory for the show that that's the case (like Ragatha being a bit of a doormat and Jax being a jackass)

Gordon: Plush lion. Fierce, brave, and strong, but also a huge softie. Makes others feel better and/or safe.

Bubby: Mime action figure. Going off the idea of him being in the tube like how mimes usually start their routines pretending to be in boxes. Also his joints CAN detatch and re-attach, so something something symbolism somthing he was built instead of born something

Tommy: Heavily inspired by Betty Spaghetty. Literally really flexible, playing into the idea of him having really good instincts/adaptability.

Benrey: LEGO ass. Wanted to play into the idea of his shapeshifting, and also stepping on LEGOs sucks and you KNOW he'd find that funny. Moves like Queen Whatevawanabe (how do you spell her name?) from The Lego Movie 2. Also I liked the idea of he and Gordon being opposites: Gordon is soft, Benrey is hard. You cannot really change Gordon's appearance at all, Benrey's is MEANT to be changed, ect. I like stuff like that idk

Coomer: Tamogatchi. Easy. You ever seen Wreck-It Ralph? He moves like the Nicelanders from that movie, but with a lot more casual glitching. His speech pattern is basically identical to canon. My guy has ADHD and a terrible memory, so although he's kind, he's not super reliable. He's been here for a LONG time.

I do not know what Forzen and Darnold would look like.

Sunkist is one of those lil ducklings on wheels little kids play with, but ofc a dog instead of a duck.

If/when Joshua shows up, Gordon would be SO upset. Relieved as well, but mostly concerned. I was thinking he could either be a lion, too, cuz the idea of a lion cub is SO CUTE, but I think him being a horse makes more sense for his personality. Cowboy horsie!

Before anyone asks, yes, Gordon DOES run on all fours if he wants to be faster

I have zero idea as to where Gman fits into this. Maybe he MADE the program, I don't know.

Omg an actual somewhat aesthetic shifting intro thing?

So hiii! I’m Yume and I’m plural (traumagenic system) reality shifter! And if you know what plural or system means you know there’s more people to meet! :) there are 5 of us (including me-) and names are Cipher, Lunar, Jax, and HABIT, Yip (yes- I have a LOT of introjects) and their sign off Are here ^^ here I will mainly just post stuff about my Dr (I make art abt them too!:3) and just funny things. And while I will reblog shifting information + advice I won’t personally be posting about the “magic trick to shifting” we’re just here to have fun :3 (well occasionally I give out some advice- sometimes other may post too)

How I got into shifting

Okay so- I first got introduced to shifting on TikTok in 2020- Via those anime shifting storytime, and I was already a pretty spiritual person (I already believed in things like ghosts and the multiverse theory) so I was like “yeah that makes sense” but besides a very few attempts I did to actually shift I wasn’t SUPER big on it and it eventually left my memory.

That was until one day, I was scrolling on TikTok with Cipher and a shifting video popped up. Cipher asked abt it because it was very curious since it had never really heard the term shifting used before but it sounded VERY familiar. I explained to it what shifting was and the conversation went smth like this

⚠️: so humans finally figured out how to do that- also you used to be into it? Why’d you stop

🎀: didn’t really have a reason- just payed attention more to different things

Other than that I live a pretty basic life there

A reality where I’m apart of the straw hat crew! I also have bunny devil fruit powers as well ^^ a place where I can have fun adventures with friends

Fame reality

I think a majority of a shifters have these LOL. I’m a famous j-pop idol turned actor. (Though I did do some acting as a kid-) My first big break was in a Cinderella movie made in Japan (I was Cinderella) that ended up becoming a worldwide hit!

Robot reality

Reality where I’m a robot who got turned on millions of years after a huge event causing a mass extinction event and now nature has basically fully taken over and I get to explore the remnants of the past.

While I do have more drs (slenderverse, mermaid, genshin) I’ll be stopping it here since these are the main ones you’ll see me post abt.

first the elephant in the room as Caine’s #1 fan yep still his number one fan! Serial Designation N killed tons of people yet nobody in the fandom cares, and Caine doesn’t get people well so he had no ill intention. rlly my opinion of him has not changed he’s still my silly lil goober no matter what he does. i’ve always known he will do horrible things and been expecting this to happen ever since Pomni gave the idea to bring him to the circus. Gummigoo had a sir pentious like death so i wouldn’t be surprised if we see him again.

Ofc I can do that dear bubble anon! For quick reference, you mention you want the reader to appear similar to Caine, so here's a quick lil idea-

Reader has a head similar to Caine's, with a mostly humanoid body, but the teeth are more like fangs

Edit during writing : There isn't too much romance(I promise there's a bit) as this is when reader first arrives in the digital circus (I'm more a slow burn person w a couple of exceptions yk?)

For the ACTUAL oneshot here ya go

It was.... rather dark.

One moment you'd put on a headset, and the next you'd been enveloped in a strange darkness, which pulled, or pushed you to somewhere. You couldn't tell whether it was a pull or a push, and frankly, you weren't quite sure if you actually wanted to anyways.

Around you, you could hear music playing. A feminine voice singing with a soundtrack that likely belonged to a circus of some sort. Whoever was singing was also listing out names, though you couldn't quite hear the names.

Though, the music grew louder and louder until you eventually figured- you were falling. Falling, falling, falling until you landed on something.

The music suddenly stopped, and as you squinted your eyes open, you saw an array of people hovering over you, who seemed really off.

A... periwinkle rabbit man, a.. ragdoll? A jester who seemed panicked, a... person, who was an array of shapes, a chess piece, a king perhaps, and a person in the air with a chattermouth(you thought it was something like that), with eyes in their mouth.

You could hear new voices- likely theirs, chattering over the over, perhaps talking about you. It was mostly confusion and curiosity among the group, with a few annoyed faces that could be seen.

Among the group, there was someone that'd said something along the lines of "A new human arrival!"

All of a sudden, one of the people there got a lil too close for your own comfort, his eyes being different colors and being right in his mouth. You were about to say something, but something else was... off. You felt weird.

Something was very, very wrong.

In a panic, you scrambled away from the onlookers, nearly falling over into.. something.

"Oh no, can't have the new arrival dropping into the cellar so soon!" The one with the chatterteeth for a head exclaimed, gliding... flying? He'd come over to pick you up, lifting you into the air.

You were about to say something, but stopped when you noticed. In this thing he called the 'cellar', there was a multitude of eyes. Neon colored eyes surrounded by black, all staring up at you.

You felt that; if they could attack you- they would've done so by now.

"What the @$#%??" You cursed under your breath- or at least attempted to. In the profanity's stead, some sort of... honking noise came out of your mouth. What type of censor technique was this??

"No foul words allowed in this fine circus, good person!" The man with the chatterteeth for a head added. "This place is meant for people of ALL ages!"

Well, at least he was thinking of the kids out there. Not like getting kidnapped or whatever was 'kid-friendly'.

"Well, isn't there some sorta.... way of getting out of here?" You questioned the man, tapping your foot. The music from before had resumed, being rather faint background noise. If you were to talk loud enough, surely you'd be able to block it out.

The others looked at your awkwardly, one in particular taking a step forward. It was the rag-doll. "Er.... well-" She seemed nervous in a way that screamed "You aren't gonna like this one." Unfortunately, she was right.

Just then, the rabbit had stepped in and shrugged. "Nope." He said, as if he'd been asked a casual question rather than one regarding escape. It seemed as if he couldn't open his mouth, or at least didn't have to in order to talk.

"Jax!" The rag doll hissed. "Don't do what you did with Pomni!"

So, the rabbit was Jax and someone here was Pomni. Alright then. Two names down.

"I, uh..." You started, planning to introduce yourself. You... couldn't.

"Uh...."

Oh, this was very, very bad.

In an attempt to regain your memories, you averted your gaze only to see a mirror, with... something in it. Was... was that... you? Sure you didn't remember what you looked like; but surely you didn't look.... like, that.

Your appearance was akin to the man with the chatterteeth for a head, though your eyes were positioned differently and your teeth were... a bit sharper.

Pretty sharp actually; you were sure you could prick yourself on one of them if you weren't careful enough.

The man with the chatterteeth(that was getting kinda exhausting to repeatedly think) didn't quite acknowledge your appearance being similar to his, though he did have some sort of excitement in those eyes of his. They were two different colors, one green, one blue. Pretty bright too.

"Is..... something wrong?"

The ragdoll asked, seeming concerned for you. Just now(for some reason), you noticed that one of her eyes was replaced with a large blue button. Fit the whole "doll" thing you supposed.

That wasn't exactly the biggest of your worries though.

"I..... why can't I......"

You tried to rack your brain to think of what your name was, and even what you looked like before... this.

You knew you didn't usually look like this, and yet your brain couldn't think up anything else.

"Looks like it's time to pick out a new name for our new arrival!" The man w- Ehem, the man you looked similar to rushed over to you, picking you up and placing you next to a large.... thing.

Sort of like one of those things where if you got three in a row, you'd win the game-

How come you could remember those things but not yourself???

"Who even are you?" You pulled away, looking at the man with confusion.

The man looked at you, his eyes... somehow, getting even brighter. Or maybe it was just you. But something about his eyes, or more like how he seemed very..... fun, to say the least interested you.

Interested you in a way that... er.... these kinda thoughts probably weren't appropriate for the current situation, but he did look.... nice. In a sense.

"I, my dear, am Caine, the ringmaster of this fine circus! Now we shall spin the wheel for your new name!"

"I- what do you mean new na-"

You had started to question th- Caine, but you didn't get an answer as the machine had been started. Apparently you were going to be given a 'new name'?

A little while went by, and maybe two or three names that were terrible or just didn't suit you went by, but at the last spin a name popped up on the thing that you thought would fit you. Caine thought the same as well apparently.

"Hm..... Y/N.... that seems like a suitable name for a fine person as yourself! What do you think, new arrival? Hm?" He curiously questioned, waiting to see if you approved of the name. Well, he was respectful- as in letting you decide your new name.

You thoughtfully nodded, with a shrug. "Yea sure, Y/N works well for me."

"Wonderful!" Caine exclaimed, rushing over to you. "Now, allow me to show you over to your room!" He added as he got closer to guide you.

"I, uh, sure, sure." You responded, just going along with the man.

"That's kinda weird." Ragatha murmured, watching as you and Caine explored and talked with each other.

Jax leaned down to be roughly around her shoulder, although she really wasn't that much shorter than he was. "What do you mean, dollface?" Jax asked the ragdoll, knowing she wasn't exactly the biggest fan of that nickname.

"Caine's never really 'guided' anyone through the circus before. It was always usually just us being guided by the people before u- And could you refrain from calling me that?" Ragatha responded, having a delayed reaction to Jax's nickname for her.

Jax was fully aware of what she meant, though.

Caine had always kinda left the responsibility up to the others to guide the newcomers around, rather than helping them out. Perhaps the ringmaster had an... interest in you. That info would be helpful in the future for when he'd mess with you.

"Sure, whatever." Jax said, rather than saying anything about the Caine and Y/N situation. He stretched out his arms, then relaxed back to make another comment.

"Dollface."

"JAX!"

OK hold on I've been seized by the TADC brainrot and it's all of your problems now, i'm obligated to think of a post-apocalyptic au setting gone sideways

Introducing; The Amazing Digital Dungeon

ok so like. i was thinking, a dungeons and dragons au but that's not ✨ extra ✨ enough so hear me out

PREMISE; Starting in the environment of a school, things have gone... weird. Through a series of "natural" disasters, the 7 of them are the only ones left alive in the school, holed up in the last safe hallway. For the most part they're trying to keep (sane) occupied with a game of DnD since it's not safe to leave; the outside world has warped into an alien hellscape they're not sure they could survive. Their food supplies are going to run out eventually, though...

CAINE (9); the youngest out of everyone. the game was his idea, of course, and he's VERY insistent everyone else play. Like, will hunt them down if they wander off to the limited places of privacy they have. They were all expecting him to take the end of the world a bit harder; in a weird way, he seems more suited to the way things are now than before. He's a very effective dungeonmaster, though, you can almost lose yourself in the story enough to forget you've lost everything you love.

RAGATHA (14); Other than Caine, she and Jax are tied for the most into the game but in VERY different directions. She's constantly at her wits end trying not to blow up at Jax for making the story so difficult. She's got it in her head that she has to take care of all the younger kids (i.e everyone except Zooble), but he's really running down to her last nerve.

JAX (11); absolute murder hobo. Have you ever tried to run a game with a player that's determined to ruin everything? it gets difficult. Caine can keep up with it fine, of course, but the other kids are having a bit more trouble. Of course, Caine is also the only one who's seemingly immune to Jax's bullying, so I imagine that helps

GANGLE (13); a refugee from the theater club. Not that she could ever speak up enough to get a leading role. She does try to participate, she really does, but with the end of the world came the end of her anxiety meds and, well... stuff was already scary enough as is. She has some good quality bonding with Zooble over mental health issues

ZOOBLE (15); not really all that into the game, as per usual. they're not jazzed about their character's stats or backstory, either - they weren't into it enough to make a character sheet so Caine made it for them entirely and it shows. bright colors? cool! confusing shapes? awesome! their character 100% has a long and convoluted backstory they never acknowledge or use (which ofc makes them all too aware of the dysphoria they already have). They're taking the whole thing really hard.

KINGER; the only a surviving adult in their little safe haven, I imagine he was a computer science teacher at the school they went to. He's trying Really Fucking Hard to keep the kids all enriched and away from each others throats, while trying really hard not to think about what must've happened to his wife when the world went sideways. He's generally goofy and supportive and doing what he can to keep the kids' minds off things.

POMNI (11); the second youngest, being about 9 months younger than Jax. They honestly didn't think she was alive at first; she'd shut herself in the lunchroom supply closet thinking she was the only one left. Caine managed to get the PA system up and running to let any other survivors in the school know where to find them, and so she managed a short trip across some of the dangerous areas with a bag of extra food to meet everyone. it was a close shot, though - they managed to find her a crutch, but the supplies in the nurses office aren't exactly enough to guide this crew to reset a broken leg

and yes, Pomni is the only one that made it to the group. they're not sure if there were no other survivors to begin with, if they were too scared to make the trip, or if they just didn't survive the way there
