“Aye, maw?” He smiles, happy to hear his mother’s warm and loving voice for the first time in months.

“She jist moved intae the toon and she’s a pure gem. I invited her fur yer dinner.”

“I cannae wait tae meet her, maw.” 

She pulls away to yet at the two fighting kids running through the kitchen.

“Youse bairns are ower auld tae be carryin’ oan like the mad beasts! Tak’ a seat!” She huffs before putting the phone back to her ear.

“Yer wee nephews are drivin’ me aff ma heid.”

He chuckles, his oldest sister’s kids were the sweetest kids he’s ever met but when their mom isn’t around they could terrorize a village.

“So, whin will ye hae some weans o’ yer ain?” She probes.

“A’ll be there braw soon tae gie them a guid skelpin.” He says, ignoring the question she’s been asking for years.

“Why’s that?” You question. With the way Ms. Mactavish speaks of her son, you’d imagine they’d hate being apart.

“He’s SAS, ye ken? He’s a pure success, Ah’m sae proud o’ ma boy.” She smiles really big. You can’t help but smile with her. The way she talks about him is so heartwarming.

Suddenly a loud thud erupts from the backyard. Ms. Mactavish goes running outside.

“Aye! Didnae I tell ye wee yins tae calm doon wi’ yer games?!”

Just then the front door swings open.

“Maw, I’m home!”

“Oh, Johnny!” She cries out, rushing inside. They embrace each other, he bends down to rest his head on her shoulder.

“Oh, how I missed ye!” She grabs his stubble-covered cheeks, giving them a pinch as he protests.

“Come oan, come an meet oor new neighbour, Isla.”

You stand to shake his hand with a friendly smile. Once he comes into the kitchen you’re a wave of shock washes over you.

He’s massive. He towering over you, his ice-cold eyes match every member of his family present along with his black hair that was shaved at the sides into a mohawk. His shoulders are wide, his arms are muscular and covered in dark hair. Your eyes drop to his boyish grin and just below his lips a scar running along his chin. He’s all man, rugged as can be. His black shirt is a little too tight around his biceps and his jeans stretch over his thick thighs.

Oh dear god.

His massive hand takes your small one in a gentle shake. The callouses on his palm leave your skin buzzing and wanting more.

I walk past the old door spotting the dents I’d made in it with a BB gun when I was about 12 years old. A smile glues itself to my face once the familiar scent hits my nose. It smells like home.

“Maw, I’m home!”

She comes running around the corner.

“Oh, Johnny!” She wraps me in her arms.

“Maw,” I mutter.

“Oh, how I missed ye!” Tears brim in her eyes. I try to shake her hands off when she pinches my cheeks like I’m still her wee boy.

She’s wearing these big geeky glasses and behind them, I almost melt at the sight, two warm brown eyes. Her plump lips, little round chin, bone structure of a goddess with just enough roundness to her cheeks to keep her as cute as a doll, and her sunkissed skin unlike anyone I’ve seen in this town. Her t-shirt sticks to her figure and her jeans look like they’d only come off if they were cut.

I try to keep my eyes from wondering too much.

“Eh! Isla?” I take her hand in mine, dwelling on how soft it feels and fits so perfectly in mine.

Okay this interview with former Georgia now Egyptian gymnast Sandra Elsadek is such a train wreck that I need to share some quotes. But please please watch the interview, start at 5.33 in the video and... if you find yourself in the nightmare of her meandering through her travel home from African champs skip ahead...

Elsadek: I just finished my fifth year of eligibility at Georgia and I was like hey Ryan if you find me another way to get me eligibility let me know. A joke obviously there is nothing left for me. He goes, 'Well do you have citizenship in another country and I was like yeah actually I do. And he was like oh well we could try that.' And I was like oh my gosh, thinking he was joking like he was just saying that. And then later that night he sends me a text and he's like if you're really serious about this competing for another country let me know we'll sit down and come up with a plan and I was like oh my gosh...

Elsadek: I found an email on the internet. I was just looking up Egyptian National Team and I found this email and I couldn't find any other email. And I'm like oh well I'll guess I'll try it who knows if it will work. I drafted an email and it had all my videos from my past year from all my events and I sent it over and I told them what my dream was and what I'd like to accomplish and like is there any way we can make it work."

[To be clear she only competed VT/BB/FX for Georgia, she had 3 weeks to come up with an elite bars routine. Her D score is a 2.7. But that's okay we'll find out later she doesn't know how elite scores work...]

Elsadek: I hadn't done bars in months and I have to do all around in this in this umum in this whole thing. We had three weeks to scrap a bars routine together basically which was crazy.

Elsadek: There were some minor mistakes here and there but it was my first time competing All Around in over a year. I was happy with it Ryan was really good at pushing me to be prepared. He's very big on being prepared and disciplined...

Elsadek: The transition of you have to put your foot up before pass like in the corner in elite. Oh my gosh I don't know why that tripped me up so much. Because my foot would lift up and I'd start on the wrong the wrong foot it took me a while to get that one.

Gobourne: How does it feel like to compete for your home country and what does it mean to you personally. Elsadek: I mean I'd say it's a really big honor. I don't know it's something you can't really describe. But having my dad with me that first week when I was in Cairo he would come to my practices and just seeing how like the smile on his face because he's here showing me his country that I had never been to before.

Gobourne: Can you tell us about the support and the resources available to gymnasts in Egypt compared to your experiences in the United States? Elsadek: Honestly they have a really good support system. They have a trainer, they live at a village, it's like the Olympic training center for national teams and the girls live there. I mean the men's team the women's team, so many sports live at this village and then the gym is like 10 steps away. So it's really cool they have a whole set up you know they get fed there they have their trainer they're living all together. The gym's right across they have pits they really hae a great set up and the resources are awesome.

[So why do they need you.... Egypt has one of the largest women's programs in the world...]

Elsadek: The girls are really good at speaking English so when I first got there I was trying to make conversation because I didn't know them yet and they knew exactly what I was saying which was really great...

[In fairness she goes on to say that her worry that she wouldn't be able to communicate with them was her fault... because she doesn't speak Arabic.]

Elsadek: My goal going into this was to hit 4 for 4 and qualify for Worlds because that's how you keep the ball rolling with this journey. Thankfully I was able to hit 4 for 4 and qualify for Worlds. So the next step is to go to Worlds and hit 4 for 4 and also qualify hopefully for the Paris Olympics.

Elsadek: I don't understand the scoring, at all, like elite scoring. Ryan's been helping me with your D score and your execution and all this stuff. I don't really understand it so I think that helped a lot because I didn't know I was just going...

Elsadek: The dollar's worth a lot there. I was ubering, I was Talabat ... Talabat is like their ubereats and it was so fast and it was so cheap. It was like two dollars for a whole meal with a dessert...

Elsadek: I had my college floor routine. They had beautiful floor routines, all their floor routines tell stories. My routine is just like la da da and I'm just like dancing and I feel like they're all looking at me going who is this girl and where is her story? My floor music right now is Pepas. Like that fun party sound basically. Their music was all kind of like spanish-y, like Tango. I loved it, it was beautiful. Some of them were like darker, have a hard and that's when they'd really hit it was just so good to watch. I want that. I want what you guys have. I'm over here dancing like a fool because college is so different. College is so flashy and show off and Elite is so tell me a story and elegant. I'm so sorry guys.

Elsadek: I went up and asked one of the people at the hotel that was also running the competition, do you guys have like an uber eats here? He looked at me and was like "What's wrong with you? Well that's because it's all I speak.

Bb Cha giving her uncle Iron a makeover and told him to wear a dress but he doesnt like to, she pouts when she her request got rejected. Since Tarnak sees her face and felt guilty of rejecting her req, he told her 'sure' and she happily finds a dress for him (like frickin golden retriever wagging their tail , or maybe she is like that pero shi tzu).

Cha called out her auntie Esha to look what she did with her Uncle Iron- as soon as Esha went upstairs and sees Tarnak beautifully sits, crosslegs and covering his face by looking down with his flustered red face wearing that damn dress (Yo niece got taste huh).

Tarnak looks up at Esha and and saw her trying to cover her giggles as Hae-in giggles too.

Cha: What do you think about it, Auntie Esha?

Esha: He looks great and adorable! ^^

As the two struggled where one wanted to fight off the Furry man and, furry man tryna calm him down. Cha unexpectedly went into the bedroom to see the both of them in that state with Yogu and Antares watching too.

Cha: What?! I thought I told you to stay there and still?? And Wolfie why are hurting a woman? That is not how a gentleman would do to a lady!!

Antares grin in silence whilst Yogu is just.. yeah, this is normal.

The two got lectured by Cha in the end. Antares and Yogu gave their thoughts about it.

I just finished playing the demo...it is nearly 3 am for me and I have class in like 4??? hours...welp, totally worth it 😎

I am so emotional rn, it's wild. That was such a good read!!! The world and the characters you've created feel so real, especially MC! I'm already attached to all of the ROs (yes, even ???, that dream sequence broke my already aching heart) and according to my stats, I'm well on my way to sweeping the emperor of my heart off of his feet 🥺 (15% bb, and all entirely by accident too lmao)

Real talk tho, this is gonna live rent free in my head for the next month at the very least. The whole demo felt so vivid and the emotions so visceral, I'm literally reeling. It's been a while since I've been immersed in something so utterly and completely (not to mention this quickly!)

The plight of the Shan people in Hae, the fighting between the tribes and the kingdom, the internal strife of the MC, the pain of rebuilding in a home that rejects you while struggling with the fraying ties of a land that haunts your memories like a ghost begging, pleading for you not to turn your back on it, not to sever the connection, not to forget but to remember, to please remember— Who's crying, I'm not crying- You're crying (it's me😔 ive been sobbing this entire time 😭🤡)

All this to say this is an absolutely amazing story you've got here and I can't wait to read more! It would honestly make such a good kdrama, I've been imagining it as one as I read this whole time! 😂

calling bumbleby forced is in no way homophobic

same sex ships arent exempt from criticism ( I have seen bb shippers call blacksun forced since v1 for being a straight ship that was being teased instead of  a same sex ship ( so to bb shippers who tried to claim you would ship bb if it was a m/f ship you do realize that could easily be turned on you that if sun and yangs genders were swapped and nothing else changed you would be shipping blacksun and calling bb forced and say roosterteeth queerbaited you.

saying that calling bb forced is homophobic makes a joke of real homophobia the whole attempt to act like the only reason someone can say something bad about a same sex ship is because of homophobia that  any canon same sex ship always has  good  writing is bs ( speaking of which  there are a good number of lgbt community who says bb is forced ) caring about the lgbt community doesnt mean you will always ship a same sex ship in the ship war it doesnt mean that if they make a same sex ship canon you will be okay with it ( because if its badly written you should criticize it )

( blacksun got years of teasing mutual attraction and development since v1that was all natural while bb only began at best v7 at worst v6 though nothing in v6 was inherently romantic moment for blake and yang so I say v7 which is where they started heavily pushing bb that comes off as forced like how in v7 renora had that conversation or blake and yangs reaction to marrows statement that they could have owrked with other people

or how in v8 yang was worried about how blake thinks when the argument was with ruby. ) before v7 there was nothing that hinted to bb ( it wasnt sublte buildup it was nonexistent .

since v1 bb shippers hae tried to call blacksun forced because it was being teased instead of bumbley they did their best to try and undermine blacksun to raise bb up like the attempts to call sun a stalker or ignoring context  like the fact that sun and blake are faunus so it would be easier to talk to him about this stuff than humans. 

or claiming that sun only cared about blake because she was a faunus 

not to mention the attempts to turn sun into a bb wingman ( they literally wear thick shipping goggles taking the most minor of moments to be evidence 

like claiming that sun seeing the moment in v3 where blake was upset  at yang losing an arm and crying is somehow would cause sun to “realize” blake had romantic feelings for yang when there is nothing about that scene that would cause someone to think that they would see that blake  is blaming herself for yang getting injured  and that scene is meant to highlight blakes guilt ( rwbytalks tried to claim in that post that the only possible reason to focus on sun seeing it was sun “realizing” blakes feelings for yang  rather than seeing how  blake felt  guilty over  over what happened which is why he went after her

( they spend their post trying to downplay blacksun to raise bb up  by reducing it to them being faunus or claiming sun just sees blake as a faunus

( it makes sense that blake would open up to sun in v1 finale given that it would be easier to do so with another faunus ( its like coming out to someone who you know is gay) she just ran from them due to revealing she was part of the fang

sun didnt say he was just interested in her because she was a faunus he said that was the best part  faunus are a minority in remnant  who are discriminated against its like say muslim being glad about there being another muslim so they can talk to eachother about experiences.  he doesnt just see her for what she is 

not to find the most minor moments to try to raise bb up over blacksun like the whole adam injured yang while ilia hurt sun adam being her ex boyfriend injuring yang means blake has romantic feelings for yang which is idiotic 

or ignoring that  adam went after yang to hurt her more while ilia stopped and focused on blake  to try and claim that blake protecting yang and not sun  means blake cares about yang more  when ilia didnt make any further attempts to hurt sun adam did.

even if yang was a man I wouldn't see the blake and yang plane scene as romantic the argument that if you saw renora plane scene as a romantic moment you have to see  blake and yang scene  as romantic

bb shippers often try to use other ships moments as a stepping stool based on a loose set connection between the two like the whole yang winked at  blake in burning the candle ( when yang winked at a white fang guy)  is somehow romantic  they try to go well you say the v1 entrance to sun is romantic and he winked there ignoring framing and context

Sun’s wink is accompanied by a slow-mo pan of his expression, followed by the camera focusing on Blake’s slack-jawed attention, along with a literal choir singing in the background while she stares at him. This is his introduction— to Blake, but more importantly, to the audience. This is the first moment we properly meet him, and it’s through this very particular gaze.

Yang’s wink is precipitated by her trying to convince Blake to come to the dance for her own mental and physical well-being. There’s no attention given to any other motivation on Yang’s part during the exchange, or what Blake’s reaction was following.

One of these has clear romantic intent. The other does not. If I were to present these two scenes to a random bystander and remove the names from the samples, and if I asked them to tell me which scene they thought was meant to be a romantic one, my guess is that they would go with the Sun and Blake scene. Because again, it’s about the framing of the scene, and the context of the situation the characters are in.

I say that Yang’s wink is dubious evidence at best, because I acknowledge that it can technically be read as romantic— but a.) it’s extremely covert, and only noticeable if you’re looking at it to find romantic evidence in the first place, and b.) I’m highly doubtful that was the writers’ intent in the first place.

renora plane scene was romantic while the blake and yang scene on the plane was platonic (  just because they both involve a plane doesnt mean they should be viewed the same .) even if ren was a woman and yang a man I would still say the same)

( bb shippers took any positive interaction even the most minor of moment  between blake  and yang and tried to claim its evidence  and claim it cant be viewed any other way ( like the scene in v3 blake was crying about yang losing an arm and sun saw

there was nothing romantic about that scene that scene showed blake felt guilty it didnt show anything that said blake had romantic feelings for yang

I remember rwbytalks went why would they show that scene with sun seeing it  when sun already knew yang was injured it was to show how blake felt bad nothing about that scene was romantic which sun referenced after getting injured and waking up basically going yang would feel the same  about not needing a reason to save you  and of course some bb shippers tried to claim it was acknowledging romantic feelings when no it wasnt   he brought up yang because he saw how blake felt upset over yang getting injured. sun being blakes love interest doesnt mean him bringing up yang  is an acknowledgement of romantic love 

I think my initial disdain for the way Sun and Neptune are written came from how sick and tired I am of straight ships being forced on the audience when lots of us are in the lgbta community. Part of it was because my gay ships were sinking I’ll admit but honestly I’m just sick of forced straight ships especially in one of the only shows with enough well written female characters to /actually/ have believable gay ships. I don’t think I hate Sun and Neptune but I do hate how forced the ships are.

I think this is all the explanation needed(and all you need to dismiss people trying to take moral superiority over liking Bumblebee). Something the toxic side of the fandom loves to do is project and project hard. They cannot understand why someone would not think like them or like the things they do unless there’s something wrong with them or they contextualize it through what they themselves would do.And that’s one of them accidentally explaining how that relates to Bumblebee: wasps like it because it’s a gay ship. They thought Black Sun was forced because it was not a gay ship. Therefore, since everyone must either think like them or be defective, clearly you think Bumblebee is forced because it’s not a straight ship. You don’t like it because it’s gay.“

basically they are just calling blacksun forced because it was a straight ship if sun was a girl they wouldnt make that claim so I cant take anytime I hear someone try to pull the you would ship bb if it was a m/f pairing  or wouldnt be calling it forced if it was a m/f pairing for if sun was a woman and yang a man they wouldnt be shipping bb and would call bb forced

if whether you ship  a ship or not  is determined by genders involved  like say if two ships were paired against the other and what causes you to ship one over the other  the pairing  is genders involved  it is a shallow reason   representation isnt more important then good writing

Yes, Yang lost an arm for Blake. We get it. But there’s a reason behind that that is not ship related. Lets sit down for a moment and talk about it, maybe even removing your shipping goggles might help.

What reason would Sun have to lose a limb for Blake in V3E11? None. What reason would Yang have to lose a limb for Blake in V3E11? A lot. She realized that she can’t always rely on her Semblance and that she can’t jump into a battle with no fucks given like she did against Adam. Plus, this prevented her from following her teammates (most likely Ruby), thus inevitably dividing the team and allowing her to go through some serious character development while at home with Tai.

And yes, she would have done the same for the rest of her team. Do I need to remind you how the floor exploded when Weiss was knocked out during the fight against team FNKY? And that wasn’t even a serious battle, just a tournment.

Now, the scene was written around Blake and Yang, yes. And here again, the reasons are not ship related. One, I’ve already stated before, and it concerns Yang. The other one was for Blake to feel extremely guilty for her (supposedly) best friend and therefore run away to avoid seeing anyone get hurt again because of her (“No, not again, please…” - V4E9).

Do we really need to twist everything into proof for a romantic relationship? The original post was a fair critique and it had its reasons. Yang would literally give her life for every single one of her teammates - the reason why she popped up during that scene was because she was the only one that would make sense for Adam to fight and injure, other than probably being the teammate to which Blake feels close the most. Ruby? No, of course - she also needed to discover her silver eyes power so making her lose a limb/knock her out would have had no purpose. Weiss? No, besides she got taken away anyway by Jacques, and helped Ruby reach the tower in time to see Pyrrha get shot, so she had a purpose to be there. This only brings us to the conclusion that Yang had to be there for both plot and character development. Hurting Sun like that wouldn’t have made sense if not bring unnecessary drama. Besides, he got hurt anyway in V4, and made Blake realize that this will only keep happening if she goes on like she did.

I’m not denying that Blake loves Yang. What I’m denying, and will continue to deny, was that this was romantic love at this stage. Love comes in many forms. Familial, platonic, romantic, and more. Romantic love is no more valuable or important than platonic, as well. Adam threatening to destroy what Blake loves encompassed everything she cared for, something she acknowledged in v5:

“Do you think I like being alone?…every day I think about them! Ruby, Weiss, Yang…they were my friends! I loved them like I never thought I could love anybody. And I hope they hate me for leaving.”

So yes, Blake loved Yang. She also loved Ruby and Weiss. The only reason Yang’s importance was highlighted by Adam was due the fact that she showed up in the middle of Adam and Blake’s fight, and Blake visibly reacted to her presence. If Weiss or Ruby had been the ones to walk into this, Blake would have had a similar reaction; as explained by her comment in v5. She didn’t hold Yang in a higher degree of importance over her other two teammates. She didn’t single Yang out compared to Ruby and Weiss, but put all three of them on the same level.

What about monochrome? They held hands in front of Weiss’s father in v7. A Faunus holding the hand of the former heiress to the company which has tormented Blake’s people for decades, for a significant period of time and with the camera focused on their joined hands? That’s got to be evidence that monos are endgame, because renora held hands too.

Because it wasn’t, and quite frankly saying it was is confirmation bias. With what Adam said about Blake and Yang, the key idea here is it’s Adam speaking. You remember him, the boy consumed with spite and obsessed with separating Blake from all the people she cares for because of the perceived slight of her leaving him. Are the words of a violent, radical abuser really something you want to pin the hopes of this ship on?

Whereas Nora’s “my man!” was a statement of intent. She’s the one staking a claim on Ren. She’s the one voicing the fact that she considers Ren to be “her’s”.

By overly relying on parallels to other romantic relationships or love interests in the show, it only makes the ship look that much worse. It has to rely on the work done by these previous ships and characters, rather than standing on its own merit. Comparing ships, to this extreme, is co-opting and cherrypicking whatever tropes people like best and forcing them into the mold of bb. And that’s everything I have to say on the matter.

My problem with this “couple” is that in the case of Sun and Blake you see his interest from the beginning and is explicit. But with Yang, you literally need to be pointed the interest (usually using big leaps of logic) by the shippers, lets face it BB was a ship created by the fandom that the writers used when the interest in the show was waning.A lot of the bb defender’s points remind me of the “they touched fingers” defense‘Their most favourite proof of BB being totally canon is Yang and Blake looking at one another.Or use the comics that came after volume 6 that show Blake and Yang act like a couple despite the show exclusively having volumes 1 - 5 of Blake having Sun as a more trusted partner and romantic interest.The show from volume 1 - 5 exclusively showed only Sun being Blake’s romantic interest. No and i mean NO ONE else was shown as romantic interest. Everyone else was friend.Even Weiss was shown having two romantic interests the one sided one with Jaune and the next Neptune.Ruby and Yang were the only ones in the main cast without a romantic interest in volumes 1 - 5. The show exclusively had them not show romantic interest in ANYONE.Not to mention that she blushed at one of his advances during the vytal festival.Even if she is Bi that still doesn’t make BB magically well written. b) Blake and Sun’s semblances are direct parallels to each other; Blake creates a shadow clone that she leaves behind, while Sun creates a light clone that he projects outwards. Additionally, Blake is heavily coded with ‘night’ imagery (The belladonna plant is commonly known as deadly nightshade) while Sun is coded with ‘day’ imagery (the freaking sun lol) and their character songs reflect this coding. They also did the traditional ‘slow-motion first meeting with a wink from one side and a wide-eyed blink from the other while angels sing’ meeting. They also specifically wrote Blake to confide in and trust Sun, spending a majority of the first five volumes with him while having very little screentime with Yang at all. They ALSO had Blake and Sun go on a real, explicitly stated date, where Sun asked Blake to the dance, Blake later waited at the door to meet Sun outside, he specifically asked her if they were going to the dance ‘together’ and she confirmed that they were, and after she fulfilled her obligations to dance the first dance with someone else, she and Sun were shown to spend the entire rest of the evening together having fun, while the other dancer was not animated to show any awkwardness or reluctance or regret when she walked away. And then they also had Blake give Sun a goodbye kiss. Yes it was on the cheek, but if you try to tell me that “giving someone who you’ve been on a date with a goodbye-kiss on the cheek before leaving on a train” was somehow meant to be a ‘friend’ thing that ‘friends’ do, I just don’t believe you. Again, I want to be clear: I do not think that these things mean BlackSun HAS to be end-game. I do not think the writers owe it to the audience to lock Blake and Sun into this relationship if they’ve decided they’d rather give Blake a different partner. There’s nothing wrong with writing Blake to change her mind, there’s nothing wrong with the writers changing their minds, but IF they expect the audience to objectively believe that Blake and Sun did not actually have a relationship, and that they were just good friends, and that Blake was always meant to be with Yang instead, then they were wrong to write “Blake and Sun go on a real, canon-confirmed, explicitly-stated-within-the-show-by-both-Blake-and-Sun, date,” and they were wrong to write “Blake and Sun have a romantic goodbye kiss in a train station.” If they cut out the date and the kiss, then I could absolutely accept “Sun had a crush on Blake but she didn’t reciprocate those feelings.” Because unrequited love is absolutely acceptable too; you don’t need both partners to feel something in order for one of those partners’ feelings to be valid. But… they didn’t cut those scenes out. They didn’t write it as if it was unrequited. They left in that Blake decided to go on a date with Sun, and they left in that Blake decided to give Sun a romantic goodbye kiss in a train station. All of this together is ample reason to deduce that Blake and Sun had originally been an intended ship. AGAIN, I’m not saying that locks them in, I’m just saying it’s a pretty obvious lie for the writers to now say that it wasn’t romantic at all actually and the audience is wrong to have noticed the romance they wrote.

c) Blake and Yang do not have any on-screen romantic interaction until V6 - unless you count the three seconds of them dancing on camera, which I would love to count, but unfortunately don’t because RT was very careful to write in a ‘best friends’ explanation of “Yang only said she’d save Blake a dance because she wanted to make Blake feel welcome and comfortable” and they were very careful to animate “Yang passes Blake off to Sun happily and unregretfully and walks away without a care in the world” and they were very careful to write “Blake only accepted the dance because uwu best friends trumps boyfriends but she didn’t start actually having a good time until she was with Sun and immediately started laughing and blushing and looking truly happy for the first time in the series” and they were very careful to write “Yang looks really happy and pleased with herself that she managed to get Blake on a date with Sun instead of sulking around the room.” Do you know what could have changed all of that? If they had Yang and Ruby standing up on that balcony together - you know, this one:

You deserve some fun, too! Why not go dance with somebody? Yang: Ehh… Ruby: Come on, Sis, I know you have your eye on somebody, heh heh heh… Yang: Well, kinda, yeah… Ruby: …AHHH! Who is it?! Who is it?! Tell meeeeee! Yang: It doesn’t matter. She’s happier with Sun. *Ruby blinks, looks between Yang and Blake with a gasp* Yang: Gah! I mean - oh gosh, Ruby, you can’t tell anyone! Ruby: But - but - but you’re perfect with each other! Yang: Well it’s kind of a moot point, so whatever. Ugh, can something distracting happen so I can just forget about this?! *continue with the rest of the scene (though while I’m at it actually cut the rest of the scene because if Jaune wants to wear a dress he should have just been allowed to wear a dress instead of them turning it into an ‘embarrassing’ bet because oh ha ha funny because man in skirt laugh laugh now never speak of it again.) If bumbleby had been the plan from the beginning, it would have been easy to make it clear that Yang likes Blake. Jaune was allowed to tell Ren that he liked Weiss. Pyrrha was allowed to express to Nora and Ren that she liked Jaune. Sun was allowed to tell Neptune that he wanted to pursue a relationship with Blake. Why was it apparently impossible for Yang to tell Ruby - her sister - that she had a crush on Blake? I’m not saying RT had to write a love-confession from one directly to the other, but if they had at least had one admit to a confidant that they had a crush on the other would have gone a long way towards actually setting up this ship and avoiding the queerbaiting I’ll talk about later. And if you say “Yang winked at Blake though, so that’s already confirmation enough” then I guess Yang also has feelings for that rando from the White Fang.

the teasing for bb  arguably began in v7 ( nothing in v6 was inherently romantic for blake and yang )

Ido not buy the idea that they planned it from the start because why did they write it so badly then why wasnt there anything till v6/7 for blake and yang

at that point even if they did plan to do it from the start they should have changed the plan and went with blacksun which they had put so much buildup (  while bb didnt get anything ( its like how I would say they should have changed the how i met your mother finale for the original plan requires a regression in characters the characters had grown past the plan)

but I dont buy the claim that bb was the original plan 

I believe it was blacksun and they changed it ( due to letting the vas and fans write it )

caring about the lgbt community doesnt mean you support every single same sex ship that becomes canon regardless of writing

it doesnt mean if there was a ship war between a same sex ship and a het ship you support the same sex ship ( even if there was nothing for the same sex ship that pointed to a romance) and lets say in a genuine situation where the same sex ship and het ship both have the chance of being canon the characters have shown an interest in each other caring about the lgbt community doesnt mean you ship the same sex ship

it makes a joke to determine whether you care about the lgbt community based on shipping ( especially given how intense ship wars can be when its between 2 het ships
