hello! idk if you still get asks about bbac but wow. i have just finished reading it (it took me 6 days) and i cannot thank you enough. i have laughed cried gushed to my non fic reading non haikyuu loving friends about your beauty (and beast) of a work and i really do just have to thank you. it will stand the test of time as a remarkable work of fiction that really pulls at the question of what makes us human and what makes us live. it’s 1:33am where i am rn but i knew as soon as i said goodbye to those people, i had to thank their creator. so yeah thank you, i have had the most joyous reading experience and i can’t believe bbac was written in my life time. i truly wish you the best in whatever you’re doing now!

21. Would you ever collaborate with another writer for a story?

That is a solid Maybe. For brainstorming, yeah definitely. I pretty much already have. For actual writing tho where we're both contributing to a work... idk? I don't work very well with restrictions so having to stick to someone else's schedule would be a bit stifling for me I think (this is one reason why I've never applied to zines and don't really plan to). I also feel like it's harder to mesh different writing styles coherently into a single piece of writing. So like. Idk. Collaboration sounds like a lot of work. I'm probably just going to stick to yelling with my writer friends about our respective story ideas and keep it at that.

32. Name three of your favorite fanfic writers.

OK now this question was a lot harder than it should've been, mostly bc I... don't actually pay that much attention to the writers, usually. I have fics I like but liking writers as a Whole? Not as easy to answer that.

I've narrowed it down though, kind of. So I think my answers would be (in ao3 handles): colbub (bc Marigolds changed my life and I still hold it as a huge inspiration in my work), WateredMyCrops (mostly bc I'm in love with their Vash characterization, not necessarily that I've read all That much of their work), and skittidyne (their current trigun fic "kinder, gentler" included in this but REALLY it's for my favorite haikyuu fic Ever & also one of my all time fav fics, "Bell Book & Candle". Now THAT fic rewrote my brain chemistry for REAL. It's been like 8 and a half years since i first read it and I still think about it very fondly)

I think what this has told me is that Marigolds and BBAC are probably my 2 favorite fanfics of all time. Of course they're the massively giant fics with a million different things going on lmaooo

Hello @skittidyne ! It's me from twitter!

I know I have another version of this somewhere because that's the one I was thinking of originally as it was a bit more detailed/refined, but this is the very first draft doodle of the BBAC wrap cover / cast lineup I made back in maybe 2015 or 2016. It was on literally the last page of the composition notebook I found, so any others I made would be elsewhere.

If I'm remembering correctly (or at all) character placement was based on which category of 🔔 📖 &🕯️ I felt each character/group were best represented by (at least at the time of drawing this). It's been several years now so I'm going off what I remember from that time to justify things. It's quite long so it'll be under the cut!

🔔 - Yamaguchi is surrounded by his luck spirit entourage, as I feel that storyline is tied closely to bells, what with all the cat collars. Tsukishima is actually the "Bell Representative" with the bell choker on full display. The 🔔📖🕯️ each have their own character(s) that I considered most prominent for their category. Yachi and Kiyoko are by this group, but we'll get to them later.

📖 - Sugawara and Yui are the Book Representatives because of all that necromancy research they did. Specifically, I think I thought of it because of the book with the chapter on demonology that Kenma gets his hands on. Yui is off to the side while Suga is between her (holding one of his many notebooks) and Nishinoya, Asahi, Daichi, Oikawa, and Iwaizumi. I think I did this is because Suga was a literal line between life and death - or more accurately "here" and "gone," as Asahi is very much dead, but still around after the crash, and Yui was apparently still alive, just no one had seen her in a long time and thought she was dead. Daichi is there because of both the romance and the magic learning with Suga. Oikawa and Iwaizumi are there because I felt the whole dreamlands adventure fit here because of the research that required and inspired, plus Oikawa and Suga's previous relationship. But I guess I wanted to insert the Tanaka siblings between them? Probably so they could be closer to Noya, but I'm not 100% sure on that tbh.

🕯️- Kenma and Kuroo represent the Candle because of that whole demon summoning for sacrifice fiasco, and Kenma's general use of them. Lev is there because he learned about magic from Kenma and that scene with Lev stumbling upon the aftermath never failed to make me laugh. Bokuto and Akaashi because of their relationship (plural) and their part in Kenma's plan to pause the apocalypse.

& - There for characters who I felt fit into multiple storylines equally or I wasn't sure where exactly to place them but wanted them to feel included. The & category is also used to tie 🔔📖🕯️ together into one long string of characters, which I felt was fitting because that's what the word "and" does.

In &, we have Yachi & Hitoka, Kageyama & Hinata, Ushijima & Tendou in fox form (+ the lurking presence of The Thing That Should Not Be), and, of course, Ryuu & Saeko. I think having them in pairs like this was intentional because "&," but also that might just be how things turned out because of how their storylines were working out at the time of drawing this. no clue, but I probably drew this in literature class lol.

Haikyuu fic rec - Bell, Book and Candle by Skittidyne

THE BEST HAIKYUU FANFIC YOU’LL EVER READ!!!!

Okay so yeah this will be a long rant, but please stay with me on this one, you won’t regret it.

I’ve been reading copious amount of fanfiction since I was like 13 (which is 7 years now). I know my way around the block. And this magnum opus is The Number One best fanfiction I have ever read. This post details my top 100 reasons why.

It’s looooooong. How long? Most likely longer than anything you have ever read. It’s over 750k words long and it took me about 4 months to finish (because I was reading slower and slower as I was nearing the end because I never wanted it to end). 750k+ words of volleyball fanfiction. Yes.

Okay so here’s the kicker. It’s not about volleyball at all. It’s set in the modern world with the characters aged up and that world is your typical modern supernatural AU. You have your witches, psychics (Oikawa who can read your mind, anyone?), ghosts, cat spirits, uhh, virgin-blood-attracted-carnivore unicorns and all kinds of creatures from every lore imaginable.

I’m a sucker for these settings but that’s not what sold me on the fic. It’s one of those fics where every single character makes an appearance and it’s like seeing the canon Haikyuu come to life (with extra wings or tails here and there). Every single character is so spot on I could cry, even characters that didn’t really get much screentime.

It’s laugh-out-loud funny. I can’t count the number of times I burst out laughing in the middle of a scene and couldn’t stop for 5 minutes, not even to respond to my concerned roommate. It has some of the wittiest exchanged I have seen in fanfiction.

Now for you tumblr folks: Every. Single. Character. Is. Gay. There are transgender characters and gender non-conforming characters and they are handled in a way that feels very natural. The ships are always paired by the “most canon” axis with the occasional poly thrown in. So not only this has the best characterization and dialogue, it also has an incredibly sweet, kinky and naturally progressing romance. The dialogue can get pretty dirty but there’s only one actual smut scene and it’s so good too omg.

And now, since I’m a huge sucker for the plot: Even though it sometimes looks like a slice of (supernatural) life scenes, IT HAS A VERY COHERENT OVERARCHING PLOT AND THE SEEMINGLY RANDOM SCENES ACTUALLY COME TOGETHER AT THE END WTFFFF HOW DO YOU DO THAT. It’s SO worth it to keep reading to the end because the reward is huge. Not that the buildup isn’t great, but I feel like it’s pretty rare for an author to finish a fic in a way that will stick with you for months.

If I’ve convinced you to go read the fic, I am so glad and I hope you have a good time. I have yet to write a proper review for this because I have’n’t had the time to sit down and write a several thousand word magnum opus sucking up to every single line in this work but I will eventually. If you do give it a try, please come back later to yell at me about it.

This is the type of story that creates it’s own universe and inspires other authors to use this universe for their stories.

BONUS: BBAC SIDE STORIES by skittidyne - if you’re wondering where all the smut went in such a mature story, look no further. Mostly Kuroken and Daisuga with a side of other pairings and other daily life shenanigans. You can read it as standalone smut oneshots but I feel like some aspects of the AU would be difficult to grasp without knowing the main storyline. This is a great thing to read after the Big Void that follows finishing Bell, Book and Candle. Aside from smut, it also has AU AUs? to the main storyline, eg the actors AU, pairing swap AU etc.

BONUS BONUS: Literally anything else by skittdyne. I’ll be writing a separate thread for Blood Will Have Blood, which is a shorter story of similar magnitude, but she wrote a lot of oneshots, all of which are worth your time. Shoutout to the Iwaoi Death God one and the Pokemon Go one.

Final note: I wish this is what the canon Haikyuu was.

oh god, so for the longest time i was meh about this pairing but the chapter of @skittidyne‘s bbac where bokuto cradles kenma in his lap got me so good that i went and binged a bunch of fics in the tag. now i’m just like “bokuken = soft and cuddles” yes. yes. i really like this paring.

out of all the pairings in boku//aka//kuro//ken(or tsuki), this pairing is the one that i have the hardest time seeing. i think if they had been together for a long time, then they’d have a light bickering that covers how much they care for each other but outwardly they don’t have a ton of feelings that people can see. i would ship them harder if they had been childhood friends i think (if someone wants to write that), because the forced proximity would cause akaashi to realize that kuroo is a really nice guy that he could benefit from having around and kuroo just cares for people so he’d care for akaashi if he’s been around a long while. idk, i think it’d be a really private relationship

The Importance of the Banking Sector in Lebanon

Banks worldwide have a vital role in the financial system and the economy of the country. The latter becomes more resourceful once the financial services offered by the bank are well-organized and managed properly while achieving the intermediate relationship between the saver and the borrower.

BBAC strives to assign finances from savers to borrowers powerfully, in order to establish itself as a key component of the financial system. It was always deemed to function as a prime leader and essential sector amidst a tough economy. Thus, maintaining the “livelihood” status of all the economic activities through storing deposit from the population and transforming it into credit. This operation falls under the phenomenon of funds markets. BBAC recognizes its valuable presence and effect on the stability of Lebanon. Due to this fact, it highly performs in harmony by sharing money with states, people, households and businesses in a guaranteed way. Several factors are listed consecutively to explain the weight of the banking sector upon the economy and the whole country. BBAC plays a key role as being a liaison, or mediator in the financial system. Banks have three essential values:

·       Banks are a safe place, where people can keep their money, which in turn banks give interest on. Individuals would face a huge risk if there were no banks existing, which in fact would raise danger once people feel that their money isn’t secured or safeguarded.

·       People nowadays are thankful for the use of electronic cards. All their payments are easily done online and they don’t have to use cash which implies that banks are dealing out daily more card payments, online transfer, debits, etc.

·       A Foremost factor in boosting the economy further, is issuing loans. Banks make life much easier and more promising by providing loans to increase investments and enhance the trade and industry sector respectively.

Banks in Lebanon grease the wheels which allow the economy to keep running. Hence, the economy would come to an end without the presence of the banks, which perform the act of magnetizing money and conceding credit. What stands as risky is when people are obliged to have to pay for everything with hard cash, instead of saving it somewhere safe. BBAC bank pioneers towards achieving the in-between, otherwise people would have to borrow from each other individually which would make transactions between them very dear; one must think carefully of the charge he’d have to bear in order to settle a contract with a borrower.

Also, the investor would face a risky situation, if the borrower isn’t able to reimburse him. In this case, the former would be defeated and lose all his money. Whereas the bank can definitely deal with such situations, in case some people couldn’t pay their loans, which the bank lent them and investors won’t be affected. What constitutes a prime factor of the banking sector is the fact of diminishing risks facing customers. Scrutinizing and running risks are both the prime goal of BBAC which has firm regulations always ready to solve any type of risks that might come to surface, whether social, economic or environmental.

Generally, banks have a main reason behind their big potential of handling transactions efficiently, which is known as ‘balance’. Therefore, they are able to smoothly run all their operations and overcome losses. The balance that banks have helps them face risks because they have many clienteles, which won’t affect the amount of money stored by the bank, even if investors would normally remove their savings. However, it is worth mentioning that in order for the economy to keep moving, some risks are inevitable to maintain the growth. If entrepreneurs cease taking risks, the economic sector would certainly fail.

BBAC is currently one of the fastest growing not only in the Middle East region but worldwide. It promises the constant implementation of sound measures towards financial development and overall economic stability of Lebanon and other countries. With these few observations, it goes without saying that BBAC plays a prominent role in the banking industry and promises continued prosperity in the years to come, not only in Lebanon but also in the continent.

Hi I just recently finished rereading bbac and my god do I feel empty after obsessively reading the fic for the past month 😭 Still one of my favourite Haikyuu fics of all time! I hope I don’t bother you with a question about bbac but I was wondering if oisuga dated in the past or if they were more on the lines of fwb? I know you mentioned double dates with kiyoyui but I always wondered if they did date what lead them to breaking up since they still have a very close bond ahah

as for the oisuga - i kind of imagine they did both! fwb for awhile, tried dating for awhile, but ultimately figured out they worked better as friends. doesn’t erase the love they have for each other.

(the difference in sex drives was a big component of how they realized they have different needs - but for Big Angst time this means that suga died (the first time) while they were dating bc his libido tanked afterward. no wonder he’s so squeamish about trying to date again now!)

Yaku Morisuke Is Not A Household Pet

(happy bbac birthday! this didn’t turn out quite how i expected but i wanted to do a lil’ something anyway, so i hope you enjoy!)

"What's in that bag and why are you hiding it here?" Kenma’s voice is both suspicious and wary, sharp in a way that it only ever is with either Kuroo or Lev. And considering that the former is currently scrawling the day’s specials across the small blackboard on the host’s podium at the front of the shop, that only leaves one.

“It’s fine, don’t worry about it!” chirps Lev in a voice that only ever spells disaster, followed by the rustling of a plastic bag. Kenma is struck silent by whatever he’s revealed, so it’s probably something stupid but not dangerous.

Lev comes out moments later, hastily pulling on his gloves with the jacket of his suit left open. It’s just shy of too small, but Morisuke is impressed that they managed to find one that fit him on such short notice (though watching him struggle to squeeze into one of the maid dresses the week before had been far more entertaining, at least before the Flashing Incident).

He’s grinning as he approaches, and Morisuke’s eyes narrow as he pushes up onto his feet, tail flicking ominously in warning.

“Yaku! I brought you something!” Lev is beaming now, whole face alight with excitement. He reaches into the inside pocket of his jacket and Morisuke only needs to see the edge of black and white frills before he’s snarling and leaping down from the counter to scurry between his legs towards the kitchen.

Kiyoko looks up from where she’s chopping vegetables at one end of the counter, sleeves rolled up and suit jacket forgone in lieu of a full-length apron, but Morisuke turns to the other end where Kenma is doing the same (albeit much slower) and glares up at him balefully.

“Don’t look at me like that,” Kenma grumbles, “he wouldn’t have listened to me anyway and I knew you wouldn’t let him.”

“He’s going to be insufferable all day.” He could just leave - Tadashi has a shift at the bookstore later, where he’s at least guaranteed to be (relatively) undisturbed - but he and Kiyoko have an agreement.

“Just - don’t break anything,” she sighs. Morisuke huffs, tail thumping against the ground in annoyance as he turns to head back out into the restaurant. If anything gets broken, it certainly won’t be his fault.

Three hours later, the cafe is packed - even more than usual for a Saturday afternoon - and Morisuke has been cooed over and had his photo taken more times than he can count as he sits curled up on the counter. Lev grins at him every time it happens (which is basically each time a customer approaches the register) and, if it weren’t for Kiyoko’s reputation, Morisuke would have scratched him across the face ages ago.

“Lookin’ good, Yaku,” Kuroo calls, smirking as he walks past with a tray of food expertly balanced on one hand. His skirt swishes obnoxiously with every step and Morisuke is certain that he’s walking that way on purpose. It’s definitely gotten him a lot of attention today.

His ears twitch in annoyance, knocking the frilly, lace headband askew. It’s righted immediately, Morisuke’s eyes tracking the movement of that hand as he gnashes his teeth at the owner.

One of these days, he’s definitely going to kill Lev.
