Be Kind To Each Other💗

So about about a month ago or so i got a message from an obvious fake account (no likes, followers, or PFP), now i have had my annos off from the very beginning of my blog because i am here to read, re-blog & make friends ( i am not very social IRL)

But i made it with a purpose to explore fan fiction because prior to Eddie i had never read fan fiction but thats a story for another day😅💗

So i never wanted to bring this to light because i didnt want to give this person or whomever it may be the satisfaction of getting to me, but in this DM they attacked for one my looks , my person (or who they think i am as a person) and proceeded to call me a & i quote “type of bitch Eddie would hate , he would never give you the time of day”

Now the reason i bring this up is because today i got a follow from a fake account with a name quite similar to the one who sent me the original hate DM, i immediately blocked them just like the last account but here is the point i am trying to make…

I don’t think that I have ever offended anyone and I’ll be the first one to say that if I have ever shared, liked,commented, or said, anything to offend anyone on here i am truly sorry

I have said it time and time again that the whole purpose of this blog is to try to share as many stories as I can, and spread as much positivity because in the world that we live in now it seems that there’s very little of that out there💗

At the same time, I don’t feel like I deserve that much hate.

I really don’t think it’s anyone here but like I said if I’ve ever done anything from the bottom of my heart, I’m sorry I just needed to get this out there because one of the main reasons that I was absent for about a month month was because of that and as much as I didn’t wanna let it get to me it got to me and I just didn’t feel like I belonged in this fandom

I will always do my best to show as much support and love to all the amazing creators and writers on here I love y’all. I hope you have a great week and remember to be kind to yourself and be kind to each other.🫶🏻

So far Tumblr has been a safe space tbh. I am so very happy with the community in here. It is miles away from Reddit which sadly invites people to downvote and comment in mean ways. Often I find that the people being rude have never really commented anything positive either. So with this point I want to ask everyone to just be kind and write that happy comment you thought of writing but didn't for whatever reason. The good needs to be more than the bad. Glam here.

Hey to anyone seeing me spam homestuck this 4/13 I feel obligated to put out a disclaimer

I’m not going to sugar coat it homestuck has problems. It’s racist sexist,ableist, and at times queerphobic. It is an uncomfortable result of the slimy and grotesque internet culture of the late 00’s and the 2010’s and it deserves to be called out for the bullshit it perpetuated.

At the same time it was an important piece of media for a lot of young people myself included who felt lost and alone. Growing alongside and finding comfort in a colorful cast of charachters. It had a unique and creative format and inspired many to find healthy creative outlets to express their emotions and explore their identity.

Both of these things can exist at the same time. You can have a fondness for or an appreciation for something while also feeling it’s deserving of criticism.

What I’m saying is don’t take my enjoyment of and nostalgia for this comic as an ignorant or malicious endorsement of the worst parts of the comic or anything to do with it’s creator.

a thought:

reblogging someone else's hard work just to vent about a character you dislike & push your own negativity out into fandom is kind of lame?

it's rude to hijack a person's art or fic or whatever kind of post generally, but to do so with the explicit aim of being soooo aggressive?

i don't like to use the term "touch grass," because i'm not great about doing that myself, but it may be a good idea to occasionally take a step back from the screen and think critically about why you are doing a thing if it is potentially needlessly hurtful to a person you barely or do not at all know.

some folks have thick skin but if i worked hard on a piece of art and then someone reblogged it just to spew vitriolic nonsense about a character in the art, i'd probably cry ssl;dfjafasdf. which, yes, says a lot about me as a person but also a lot about how easy it is to make someone upset or uncomfortable when you decide that your opinion matters more than everyone else's, consequences be damned.

Can we all go back to why we became part of this fandom? Who brought us together? Why we love & have stayed for this long? Eddie, thats who & this is supposed to be a safe place for everyone , thats why it saddens me when i see annons giving soo much hate its crazy! We should be hyping each-other up , showing support to one another not tearing the fandom apart.

We are all different i get it & the fandom cant be perfect but we can treat each-other with kindness & respect. We should be not just liking but re-blogging fics showing all these incredible writer’s our support is the least we could do after all they are what keeps this train going! & deserve all the praise for their hard work💗

hi! asking this out of genuineness and lighthearted curiosity because it’s occurred often enough for me to get curious—it seems like every time i open the notes on ANY good omens post EVER, you’ve left a reply, or you’re one of few likes, or you’ve left some sort of note on it in some capacity !! HOW do you accomplish such a great and impressive feat, being omnipresent in the good omens tumblr fandom? congrats on this btw!

Thanks for noticing! Good Omens is currently my only hyperfixation. I joined tumblr in late December solely because of it. It's the only hashtag I follow so it's laser focus. I have a desk job and work from home so taking lots of short ineffable content breaks help me get things done. After work, I don't normally have much of a social life so I have plenty of time to be a little Tumblr goblin. I want more content so I interact as much as possible so people will, hopefully, keep creating and posting! It takes almost no effort to like a post and not much more to reblog. And I love the feeling of being complimented on something I've made so I try to take 30 seconds to compliment something someone may have spent hours working on.
