Hawaiian monk seals are endemic to the Hawaiian archipelago which includes the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands. After watching the eclipse the other night Luna and I made our way to Pfeiffer Beach to catch some Zz’s. It was cold (43° F) and windy but it was also super peaceful - we had the whole beach to ourselves for most of the morning). I’m not saying I haven’t had better sleep but I certainly haven’t had more picturesque sleep. I had to drive from Monterey down toward Big Sur to get away from the notorious clouds and fog and be able to see the eclipse the other night. I didn’t get anything spectacular as I was shooting with my phone. I was mostly documenting for posterity. Breathing~

Happy Thursday Afternoon loves! 

I’ve been really busy babysitting lately. Its been fun though, always trying to take the kids to the beach during the day, and when I babysit at nights I’m able to just relax and catch up with my thoughts. I have a goal with how much money I want to make this summer, so I’m trying to babysit as much as possible! I’m getting there! Tonight I’m doing a photoshoot at sunset, and I’m super pumped for it! Hopefully I’ll get some good pics that I can post on Instagram and on here. Each day after babysitting in the morning I’ve literally taken a nap on the beach, and honestly each time I wake up from them I feel super refreshed. Beach naps are the best!I’m trying to soak up my last couple of weeks living by the beach:) Now my whole family is up here, my two older sisters and my mom and dad. I hope to be able to spend some quality time with them. My oldest sister has been here for about a week, and I know that I mentioned that one of my August intentions was to reconnect with her, but it just hasn’t happened. I haven’t really put in the effort. She's just nothing like me and my parents baby her. I just don’t get it. If she just acted her age, was responsible, cleaned up after herself and stopped asking weird questions I wouldn’t have a tough time getting along with her. Its not only me that can’t connect with her, its her. She doesn’t try either. Anyways, hope you all saw the full moon a couple nights ago...how beautiful and magical was that?!?! So much energy and magic within it. I’m still waiting to hear back from the modeling agency that I mentioned before. Its been almost 3 weeks, and I did a follow up email last Friday. I’m pretty sure the people that I talked to are away on vacation, because I stalked their Instagrams tehehe. I’m trying not to stress over it, but I kinda am. It always pops up in my mind, so I keep chanting my mantra “opportunity is coming my way”.  Its my prayer. I want this opportunity so badly, but I have to be patient. I really just want an answer, “yes” or “no” then I can stop holding my breath and waiting for it. Either way I just want the satisfaction of knowing so that I can keep moving forward in my life. This is just a quick blog post to fill you all in on whats been happening lately. I’ve been feeling good, lifes been good, and I’m sure you’ll hear from me again soon! Remember you can ask me anything or just say hello, I’m always happy to hear from you!

Homeward bound. Is a great movie by the way. But leaving the beach is always bitter sweet. In some ways I am very happy to be going home. I get so see my cat, and sleep in my own bed. But it's sad. Some people don't understand the beach. With the sand (that you find everywhere for weeks) and saltwater. The waves that go up you nose and in your eyes and makes your face sting. The sunburn on your shoulders and cheeks (and back and front and legs and tops of feet and hands and the back of your arms and that spot right above your armpits. I'm really very pale, it's amazing I survive the sun really.) People just don't get how can sit on the beach for 7 days and not get increadbly bored. With the sound of waves and the ocean breeze. The sweet smell of the water with a hint of sunscreen, and the occasional grilled burger or chicken. The afternoon beach naps. Or the sunsets with all there pinks and purples and oranges. But I don't. Get bored that is. I always dream of moving down here. Getting a job, buying a house on the beach. But I'm afraid. Afraid that if I do, I'll lose this feeling. The longing. The nostalgia of family vacations gone by. I'm afraid that it won't be special anymore. So, I leave. With the knowledge that I will be back next year. So for now, I say so long, farewell, to you my friend, good bye for now, until we meet again.
