Chuck's Backpack Hero Mods
So, I've obviously been hyper-fixating on Dungeon Meshi lately, but that isn't all I do. For the past year, I've been making mods for my current favorite game: Backpack Hero!
My collection of mods! Look here if you want to check out any of these mods for yourself!
So in this post, I thought it would be fun to go over all my mods, and share some of my favorite details.
Tumblr media
Chuck's Bionicle Mod: contains 245 items
Naturally, my first mod was a Bionicle mod. I love Bionicle. While I did a lot of custom spritework for this mod, shout out to Danska's Bionicle Builder, which is what I used for the masks and set-accurate weapons.
The mod's main gimmick is loot boxes! You can find mask packs, and equipment packs which can be opened for random items from the corresponding set wave. If you're real lucky, you may even find a bulk parts pack, which contains random equipment packs!
Nearly every set is represented, and a wide assortment of items from MNOG and VNOG are included too. As my first pack, the balancing was pretty spotty at first, but a few updates have fixed the more egregious examples. Did you know it took me 6 months to realize that the nektann robots had accidentally been set to unfindable?
Tumblr media
Chuck's Plants vs Zombies Mod: contains 654 items??? (probably cut that down to like, ~350ish, since packets don't really count as a separate item)
My second mod, and hoo boy is it a doozy. Probably my favorite mod, this mod has a ton of work put into it, containing every plant from the orginal game, PvZ 2, and chinese PvZ 2. Thats a lot of plants!
The main gimmick of this mod is plant packets. Instead of finding plants as loot, you get packets, which grow over time. Once enough encounters occur with it in your pack, it grows into the plant.
But plants aren't the only thing in this pack. There is also a suite of zombie equipment, which grows stronger based on how many plants you have. Not to mention watering cans, pinatas, guppies, and other essentials to help fuel your botanical battle pack!
Tumblr media
Chuck's Bloons Mod: Contains 134 items (again, effective number is a lot lower due to upgrades)
Ah yes, my bloons mod. This is probably my least favorite mod, simple because of how jank it is.
Basically, monkey's grow more powerful based on how many bloons they pop. As they reach thresholds, they get upgraded. However, spriting and programming so many upgrades gets rather tedious. This, combined with the fact that playing with the mod is rather feast or famine makes me not particularly fond.
Getting enough bloons can be tricky if you don't find one of the generators, and some monkeys are just way more useful than others, since due to the effort required, fully upgraded monkeys are mostly an endless mode thing, and some of them just don't scale into endless very well.
That being said, most of the monkeys are at least okay at a base level, so in casual play, they are decent, if not exciting.
Also, the monkey loot packs being barrels makes me giggle.
Tumblr media
Chuck's Random Items Mod: contains 10 items
A simple little pack containing a few endless focused items. Originally meant for random ideas, but the next mod ended up taking that role.
Some neat examples include the white manastone, which acts as fuel for the vanilla black manastone, the sticky token, which acts as both energy and duct tape, at the cost of gimping defense, and the Fatum Ruptor, my signature sword.
Tumblr media
Chuck's Pack of Mediocre Items: contains 109 items
This is a fun one. Basically, when modding, one tends to make things stronger than vanilla. So I challenged myself to make a pack with intentionally weak, but useful items. That doesn't mean it's bad, just lacks a lot of the raw power my other mods have.
As such, it is my recommendation for if you want a more vanilla style pack. Some of these items are literally just vanilla items with a twist. Such as the glove of knife. Just the one. Glove of knives was OP anyway.
Plenty of cheeky little references in here too. Like the candy cane horns which fill you with rage, or the pristine blade which fractures into one of ten different variants.
Tumblr media
Chuck's Terraria Mod: contains 111 items
Ah yes, my favorite Minecraft clone. This pack has a little of everything. You got arrows, spears, tomes of ichor based magic, what's not to love?
If you're really lucky, you might find a crate containing items from my second and third favorite mods, Thorium and Calamity. (Sorry guys, you aren't even close to beating Magic Storage in the top spot.)
This pack also has few item type gimmicks I think are cool. Spears can only be used once per turn, but they have strong AOE attacks. Bullets are arrows that can also be used only once per turn. And then there is the copper shortsword. If you swing it 999 times, something cool might happen.
Tumblr media
Chuck's Stick Ranger Mod: 174 items
Anyone else remember this game? Man, Stick Ranger was awesome. Pity they never made a sequel. Anyway, this pack contains a wide assortment of items, including 16 weapons from each class, except angel and gunner. Gunner only gets 8. Angel gets... 34???
Yeah, I like rings. I gave them a cool mechanic where they buff other adjacent rings, like a variant of Satchel's hammers. So of course I included a ton of them.
Also, the imperial crown used to hold the record for the laggiest item I ever made, but engine optimizations has made it actually viable to use. Hooray! Much like the game it comes from, the crown massively boosts the threat enemies pose, but greatly rewards you for it.
Tumblr media
Chuck's Neo-Battledome Mod: contains 130 items
To be perfectly honest, I never got past the level of duel-wielding scarab rings before I got banned due to my account getting hacked. Hasn't stopped me from obsessively keeping up with battledome weapon releases, even if they're currently releasing, like, three a year.
That's right, did you ever play Neopets and wished you could wield the Darigan Sword of Death? Or really wanted to own a Weird Scarab, even though it was an impossible to find yet completely ineffectual item? Well, now you can do the next best thing!
Tumblr media
Chuck's Elder Scrolls Mod: contains 59 items
Ah, Skyrim. My first M rated game. Which I bought without my parents' permission. Honestly, get rid of those terrible blood splatters, and the strangely mild swearing, and it would pass for T. (Seriously, how do Skyrim and Stick of Truth have the same rating???)
Anyway, this mod contains items from not just skyrim, but oblivion and morrowind too. And maybe even an item or two from arena and daggerfall if you're nice.
If you collect 24 Stones of Barenziah, absolutely nothing happens. Just like in Skyrim.
Tumblr media
Chuck's MSPA Mod: contains 49 items
Ah yes. Homestuck. I'd say it's pretty good. Shame it ended at act 7. Anyway, here's some items to shove in your sylladex backpack. Lots of Problem Sleuth items too. Those are probably a bit less polarizing.
Probably best to swiftly move along.
Tumblr media
Chuck's Enchanting Crystals Mod: contains 18 items
A small, but simple pack. These crystals can be used to add permanent buffs to your items. The more powerful ones contain downsides though, so be careful.
Tumblr media
Chuck's RPG Classes Mod: contains 68 items (Only 9 of which are actually findable, lol)
One of my most popular mods, this adds essences which boost various play-styles. They start off weak, but as you kill enemies, they level up! When leveling up, they branch into two options, with six of the base essences each having four different final forms.
Let me give you a hint. If you're using this, or any of my mods with upgrading items, I won't get mad if you use debug mode to check what items will do when they grow up.
Tumblr media
Chuck's Card Slinger Mod: contains 88 items
Ask any Backpack Hero player who the worst playable character is, and we'll all agree. It's Tote. So here's a mod to try and make her more fun. Excuse the use of the thumbnail instead of a pack of items. Carvings are a pain to screenshot.
This mod contains carvings for Tote based on a variety of card games, like Hearthstone, Eternal, MtG, Inscryption, and more! Seriously, some of these are obscure as heck. Like the ones from my own card game that I have never shown off publicly.
Generally fitting into a discard-light setup, the minion cards attack each turn, but get discarded if you get attacked too many times. There are also self-discarding spells, and cards which buff your other cards.
Crown of Possibilities is my favorite TCG card of all time, and you can't change my mind.
Tumblr media
Chuck's Mod of Loathing: contains 36 items
Couldn't really get into Kingdom of Loathing, but dang if West of Loathing and Shadows over Loathing aren't amazing games.
Anyway, items in this pack are neat, but I may have created the worst item ever in the Spittoon. It hurts you when used, but gives treasure! Most of the treasure is awful. There is only one good item in its pool. And it's a damn good one. So there I go. Reaching into every spittoon I find, taking ten damage for no reason, hoping to get lucky. If that doesn't capture the essence of the spittoon, I don't know what will.
Tumblr media
Chuck's Backpack Battles Mod: contains 47 items
Ah yes, my third favorite backpack based game.
Some pretty neat mechanics in this mod. The versitile dagger and thirsting blade both have a mechanic where after using them for a while, they upgrade into a random crafted version. The gems also upgrade over time.
I also added some dragon eggs. I thought they were really swell. How swell? Well...
Tumblr media
Chuck's Dragon Eggs Mod: contains 641 items!!! (Like the PvZ mod, cut that roughly in half.)
Originally based on Dragon Cave, I had to take it down and rework it with my own original sprite art. I'd say it turned out pretty good.
This mod contains eggs which hatch after a while into dragons. It is mainly focused on Pouchette, who can find the full selection, but the others can find a more limited selection too. (Except Tote. Tote never gets to have fun. Except when she finds a Darigan Sword of Death.)
I had a lot of fun figuring out the flavor for this mod. There are a ton of different dragon types, each with it's own type of effect. Tarasques are defensive, drakes have power in numbers, bug dragons are totally a real thing, and weren't the result of running out of unique body plans...
Tumblr media
Chuck's Randomly Generated Mod: contains 38 items
Exactly what it says on the tin. I set up a random table, rolled two effects, a trigger, and a character, then made an item inspired by the results.
Tumblr media
Chuck's Hyperrealistic Mod: contains 15 items
Gonna be honest, this one's a shitpost.
Tumblr media
Chuck's Undertale Mod: contains 92 items
This was a fun pack to work on. I love Undertale and Deltarune, so I certainly wasn't lacking inspiration. Most of the equipment and consumables are in there, along with plenty of memes. I got you're stopsigns, a punchcard that provides massive value if you know how to exploit it, maybe even a Prunsel if you're good.
My favorite item has to be the cell phone. Each battle, you receive a random call, providing a small benefit. You might get Undyne slapping spaghetti against the receiver, you might get Papyrus complaining about spike regulations, you might get [half price baloney], you never know!
Tumblr media
Chuck's Dredmor Mod: contains 36 items
Ever played Dungeons of Dredmor? It's very silly. And hard. I've never won a run.
Anyway, here's some random items from that game cause I felt like it. What more do you want?
Tumblr media
Chuck's Dungeon Dice Mod: contains 52 items (more like 7 lol)
Contains items which randomize their effects at the start of each battle. Pretty cool.
Tumblr media
Anyway, those are my mods. Enjoy a screenshot of the nonsense you can get up to with all my mods active.
Hope you enjoyed reading, and maybe enjoy playing with them!
Stay tuned for my next mod, based on Chips Challenge! This may or may not be a joke.

Evie x Aiden gaming headcanons
As requested by @inlocusmads, here are some of my gaming related headcanons for Evie and Aiden. Many of these are actually some of my oldest headcanons, back from when I first got into Choices. Here's what I've got as of now:
Evie:
Evie is more of a casual gamer, but she does have a lot of games she enjoys. Minecraft, Super Mario 64 DS, Mario Kart DS, and Among Us are some of her biggest favorites. And also a couple of oddly satisfying mobile games. And whatever the Choices universe equivalent to Choices and HSS Prime is.
Evie was also a major frequenter of sites like CoolMath during 4th-6th grade and she still enjoys them. Some of her favorites includes Sushi Cat, Papa's Pizzaria/Taco Mia/Burgeria/etc., Bloons + Bloons Tower Defense, and Fireboy and Watergirl. Luckily she does get a chance to show them to Aiden before the end of Adobe Flash.
Aiden:
Aiden is utter crap at computer games. The only ones he's good at are stuff like Smule Magic Piano (which Evie would struggle with more) and Minecraft creative mode.
And 75% of Aiden's Minecraft-playing is composing or recreating songs with the note blocks.
He sometimes does Minecraft Survival mode but the only way he can really last is if Evie's in the world with him and they're working together.
He barely manages Mario Kart, but can't drift for shit.
He openly insults Fortnite.
Sometimes he'll go into a game like Mario Party thinking it'll be easy, only to be absolute dogshit at it.
Yes, Aiden is even crap at Tetris. His screen legit looked like this on his first attempt at the game.
He is not a fan of Among Us (despite that he willingly played "Mafia" on the boat in after-prom). To him, it's just people "running around and blaming each other". He especially hates being the imposter because, in his own words from the Mafia game, "I can't lie to save my life".
Actually I think Aiden would be pretty good at stuff like Interactive Story games like Evie does too.
Myra is always teasing him about how bad he is at most video games and often likes to mention his least favorites to annoy him.
Evie: "Aiden you're usually very dexterous when it comes to instruments, but you're bad at video games?" Aiden: "Playing the piano and playing on a gaming console are two completely different things."
Both of them:
Evie and Aiden regularly have double dates with Nishan and Sakura where they play 2-on-2 video games, usually battlegrounds-style games. Their rounds are of course very short-lived because Aiden is crap at the games, but they're still fun nonetheless.
I haven't played it myself yet but I can totally see the two of them getting into Fall Guys. Evie likes the cute fall guy avatars.
Evie (with some minimal help from Aiden) trying to design a sort of a big fancy "dream house" for them in Minecraft.
Something something they squee over Minecraft cats together a lot
Evie would try to teach Aiden a lot of the video games she's good at. He'd slowly improve at most of them.
The two of them totally obsess over video games with awesome soundtracks, even if they haven't played the games themselves. But it sometimes may lead them to getting into the games. Eg. Evie loves the soundtracks for the Super Mario Galaxy games, she'd show it to Aiden and they'd obsess over them, and at one point or another, they'd feel compelled to buy the games.
I think a habit both of them would also have in certain video games is: they start a game, but if the soundtrack is really good, they'll just make their character do nothing or run around aimlessly in it so that they can keep the music + sound effects going on because they don't want it to stop. They do this a LOT with Mecha Bowser battle in Super Mario Galaxy 1.
I think they'd sometimes use app versions of classic board games (chess, checkers, etc).
They'd definitely enjoy puzzle games like minesweeper. They're each pretty good at the puzzle games on their own, but it's extra fun to work on them together. Also Aiden sitting in Evie's lap while they play the games.

PrettyBlood daycare is a PrettyBlood AU that’s concept it about a humble daycare with a bit too much going on… the kids are all over the place, all unique in their own ways! And our caretaker, Nappy, and her co workers have to protect, and take care of the children!

Copper is a entergetic, yet extremely annoying boy who enjoys to run around and have fun! He likes hanging out with his friends! He often gets sad when people are mad at eachother.
Tumblr media

Tumblr media
4. Leafy

Tumblr media
5. Elma

Tumblr media Tumblr media

Tumblr media

Tumblr media
13. Nappy
Nappy is the daycare’s founder and number #1 caretaker. She is kind and caring and loves to take care of the children. But she has a life outside of the daycare too, and she has to balance the daycare and her daily life.
Our inspirations
Our number one inspiration was swapping the ages of characters and putting them in a daycare setting. Yes, I know this is overused but I’ll get to why.
The reason why we did do this? Well, because the concept was rather interesting! so I decided to put my own spin on this concept and try to make the story less controversial and actually good. This means heavy topics will be taken more seriously.
Our story will be similar, but unique too! And we hope you’ll be with us through it.

Bloons Tower defense 6 little review
Tumblr media
Yes, I do lose a lot of my time playing games.
This game is really good. One of the best tower defense out there. If you like this type of game and have free money, try this out.
The artstyle is really good. The mix between 2D and 3D may seem strange at first, but with time you get used to it and you'll learn to love it, like I do. Every monkey has a really good design, and it's really easy to recognize the bloons.
The music is really good, and it didn't have the right to be. It doesn't have many, but the ones it does are really good.
The gameplay, as I said is really good. The amount of possibilities this game gives you to complete the maps are huge. 3 paths to choose, each with five upgrades, but you can only choose two paths, making 6 possible scenarios for each monkey.
There are around 20 monkeys, each one doing something different, each having it's strengths and weakness.
And that's because there are many different game modes to play. You can play the same map for more than 15 times, and each one with a different gamemode.
I'm gonna stop talking about this game here, because otherwise I'll stay hours typing here, and this is a little review. My Steam review is alredy huge enough.

I had a, well I don't know if I can call it a nightmare but it was something like that considering the location and the repetitiveness. It got better though. It took place on yet another floor of the SCP-esque Mall Tower, this one was a desert, like something you'd see in one of those open world fighting games. And I only remember certain parts of it. So one part was a dating game style thing where you play as either Twitch or Thrash Malto. You have to become besties with every character. Twitch became besties with Soundwave and they got in an argument about something I don't remember so then Soundwave went in Twitch's room and it was so fucking dramatic and Twitch said "I'm so fucking upset with you, babe, I'm even deleting your stupid ass selfie from my computer lockscreen." and Soundwave said "No, bestie pleaz I'm so sorry pls don't acquaintance-zone me" And Twitch said "Don't. Do not call me that. We are done. I'm unfriending you on Facebook." Soundwave was crying now "PLEASE I CAN'T LIVE WITH OUT YOU 🥺" Twitch said "Don't make this harder than it has to be…" Just then, Soundwave got off his knees, ran over to the computer and input some code right before Twitch slapped his arm off and pushed him out the window. Soundwave fell onto the dumpster out back, looked back up at Twitch like 🥺 and sulked away, looking back with puppy dog eyes every 5 steps. Twitch turned around, noticing his arm on the ground, picks it up, hugs it, then gently tosses it out the window with the loudest crash you've ever heard. Soundwave, who never left and was just hiding behind a tree nearby, picked up his arm and actually left this time. The code finally executed and played the Titanic Theme Recorder Version on loop for the next 7 hours.
The cut to Thrash and his bestie Shockwave, who got into a fight midair while skydiving because someone [Thrash] punched a little too hard while they were rough housing. For some reason Shockwave's head was one of those turrets from Bloons Tower Defense but with so many eyes. Most of them had been broken during the random boss fights in between dialogue, except for his real eye, which then revealed that Shockwave was actually a tiny bb ShockBot piloting Shockwave's body. True Shockwave scurried on top of the turret only to realize that neither him nor Thrash could fly. Thrash gave him the middle finger and True! Shockwave screeched like the lil baby man that he is. Immediately when they fell it turned into a fps where you play as Cuphead and Mugman is a bot and you have to shoot stick figure-like enemies. One is like that Bomb Head Guy from AWOG and you gotta touch him and run and he'll kill all surrounding enemies. Then one randomly exploded and Cuphead died but with ragdoll physics. Then Tiny Shockwave crawled into a cactus and screeched so Thrash picked him up and they made up and stopped fighting. Then it turned into one of those games where you play as a peasant fighting dragons or something except the player kept getting stuck in the fucking door to the village because they were cartridge tilting like in TLOZ.
Then it snapped back to reality [oop, there goes gravity] and it's Soundwave, Shockwave, Twitch, and Thrash all sitting on the couch watching Markiplier playing Drunk Minecraft.

Hot Air Bloon iOS Review – A Lost Cache, unearthed.
Tumblr media
Hot Air Bloon iOS represents how fleeting media is, especially in the digital age. Companies can suddenly make an app not run on modern platforms at will. In addition, businesses often shut down digital storefronts for older platforms, typically resulting in the removal of official access to media in the process. If that wasn’t enough, publishers behind media often remove them outright from their official sources, typically because it does not run on modern platforms or there is a new version that is intended to replace the old media. This is also not to mention titles having online features or being tied to an online platform without any end-of-life plan on distributing those features. Of course, people typically use a specific version or title older than the current version for a reason. Trying to funnel people into a new version typically ends up in these people instead pirating that lost media.
Tumblr media
So, what does this have to do with an iOS version of Hot Air Bloon (HAB iOS)? Well, that is exactly the situation Hot Air Bloon iOS ended up in. HAB iOS was released in 2010 November 3, exclusive to the iOS, as the game was likely built in Xcode. In 2017, Apple revealed iOS 11 would no longer support 32-bit apps, which any iOS app before 2015 ran on. This meant that 32-bit apps would only be playable on any new iOS from thereon out if the developer opted to update their game. Unsurprisingly, many of these 32-bit apps were not updated. Sometime between late 2018 and early 2019, Ninja Kiwi quietly removed HAB iOS from the app store, because it could no longer run on modern devices. This trend was even enforced by Apple themselves in June 2022, where they made it so that in the newly released Xcode beta, developers can no longer update 32-bit apps, and on top of that, 32 bit apps would be removed from being listed on the app store automatically by Apple. There was no way to install Hot Air Bloon iOS for four years, until on 2023 January 21, an ipa file (an iOS app file) for Hot Air Bloon iOS was uploaded onto archive.org, and three days later, on 2023 January 24, the ipa was successfully cracked. I then installed the cracked version on my iPad 2 and started my journey experiencing this formerly lost media. Unfortunately, I have no way to support Ninja Kiwi directly, so pirating HAB iOS was the only option
Tumblr media
I went over a lot of background information on why Hot Air Bloon iOS was formerly lost media. How is the actual app itself? Well, Hot Air Bloon iOS is surprisingly...quite good. Hot Air Bloon iOS’s core gameplay is a lot like the original Flash version. It is an autorunner where you control a blimp by pressing the power button to push it up. This is necessary to avoid crashing into obstacles, whether the natural boundaries of the screen or enemies that fly or shoot at you. The original flash version was purely an endless runner, and the iOS version also has this mode playable as “Classic”. Where HAB iOS deviates is with its new story mode, taking the player on a campaign of 7 levels comprised of four stages. Each level has its unique biome, ranging from a haunted forest to an underwater ocean. With these unique biomes come their unique obstacles and in the case of the ocean, a unique mechanic. The ocean biome is notable for how it flips gravity, with the player floating up by default, and the power button pushing them downwards. To top each biome off, there are also boss encounters at the end of each biome, which are a significant change of pace from normal stages, often involving the player to shoot darts at the enemy. Another thing that I appreciate a in hindsight about HAB iOS is that to beat the game, there is minimal grind involved. with newer Bloons titles, they often involve a semi-lengthy if not lengthy grind to acquire your full toolset, with the grind often doing nothing to prepare the player for the toughest challenges the game has to offer. Being able to beat the game in one sitting if I really wanted to, is the part of classic gaming I really enjoy, where they often are much, much less grindier than other games doing the same repetitive action just to try the actual interesting levels. There is also enough mechanical depth to allow players to create their own self-imposed challenges, oftentimes involving not using brake mechanics or beating bosses with full health. Similarly, HAB iOS does not overstay its welcome, as the seven distinct levels offer enough variety to experience the game’s core mechanic of balancing the blimp’s elevation, without being stretched out to the point of each level becoming a copy of the last. What’s more is that the implied lore both in direct postcards and environmental design, provides a lot of depth to the notorious Bloons Lore.
Tumblr media
So, is there anything I dislike about HAB iOS? Well, there are actually a few things I dislike. If you have noticed in my screenshots, there are hearts that are lives that the player uses. Yes, there is a lives system in Hot Air Bloon iOS and it is very frustrating. The player starts with three lives, and can gain more by popping a certain amount of bloons, ranging from 100-250 bloons depending on what level the player currently is in. Lives persist across levels but lose all your lives and you are sent to the first stage of the current level with three lives. This mechanic often forces players to force close the app to save their stage progress, so that they do not have to replay all the previous stages just to practice their current stage again. This ends up slowing gameplay to a halt, and the game would be much better without a life system. Another weak point of HAB iOS is that levels have a nearly fixed duration. Since with the exception of the first stage of Level 7, all non-boss stages simply require the player to survive a set amount of time, there is no reason to collect hundreds of bloons to move faster, when it is better to avoid collecting bloons to give more reaction time against obstacles. Some levels are borderline unplayable when collecting lots of bloons, because the player cannot react fast enough to off-screen hazards. If there were warning signals for all off-screen hazards like with the final stage’s boss, then it would be much more bearable to go fast. Unfortunately, going fast is a detriment rather than a benefit.
Tumblr media
Despite its flaws, Hot Air Bloon iOS is a reminder of what was great about early iOS gaming. The philosophy of a lean title with little in the way of grind, the will to innovate on an existing title, and the accessibility of it all on the go through a small phone is what made me fall in love with the platform in the first place as a child.  At the same time, though, it is a reminder of how hardware is gradually aging, and how having a way to replay old titles is more important than ever, to see what made that time great. With the release of touchHLE by Hikari no Yume kickstarting iOS emulatione, hopefully everyone will eventually get an opportunity to revisit iOS classics, including Hot Air Bloon iOS.

did no one else see the problem with one of BitterVitter’s most recent comics lmao. if you dont know which one im talking about, youre lucky. i havent said this publicly but tbh i kinda hate Bitter and i dont give a shit who they used to be in the fandom. they’re drawing nonconsensual nudity and playing off the heroes’ obvious discomfort as some kind of joke. i wish i could unread Inspection Day.
if youre one of the ppl from btdfanart who reacted positively to it, i have no fucking idea how none of you saw a problem with that shit. there were so many holes in the reasoning as to why it had to be like that. okay, maybe they do need to check to make sure the bloons aren’t sneaking into the base. maybe they do need to search the heroes’ stuff. kind of makes sense. i guess it could be explained if they needed to search their clothes too. even if that’s a huge stretch. but riddle me this Bitter, WHY THE FUCK DO THEY ALL NEED TO BE NAKED TOGETHER IN THE SAME ROOM. when they all hate it so much. why not give them even a towel. or a shirt or something. AND WHY IS PSI, THE ONLY CANON CHILD, ALSO FORCED TO BE NAKED IN A ROOM FULL OF NAKED ADULT MONKEYS. there’s no fucking explanation or excuse for that.
if it was drawn by anyone but them, i’d say it was fetish art. but no, it’s just drawn for shock value. that’s all it is. sure there’s some of their lore sprinkled in here and there, but i didnt even retain that part of it, because i was too busy freaking out and nearly having a panic attack right there. i spent the whole day distracted because i felt so bad for those poor monkeys. it might seem like an overreaction, but ive been through some shit that would make something like that be a complete nightmare for me. benjamin was in actual genuine distress in the comic and i just felt so bad for him because i would feel the exact same. its all so fucking disgusting and i have no idea why everyone is treating this as smth funny and acceptable to post
ive blocked bittervitter on discord after this because i dont wanna talk to them and i dont wanna see their shit in case they draw smth equally cursed in the future. if you still dont see the issues with this comic, and youre still blinded by nostalgia enough to still support them, just go ahead and block me.

Top 5-10 favorite video games?
Preamble to say the only consoles I ever owned were a Sega Genesis, as a kid, and I played a shit out of that with my sister. And an X-Box 360, where I mostly played one game I also owned on PC. I'm a PC gamer.
Going from how much play and replay time I got out of them
10. Bloons TD6 - A simple tower defense game, you can even play this on mobile. It's a fun time killer. Like most games, I feel like, if you're good at math, you'll do better at it. I'm not good at math. But I have fun. I always go back to it when nothing else works.
9. Darkest Dungeon - I actually only have 82.6 hours in this game but the only reason I don't play it more, is, again, I'm bad at math, and not good at it, but I really like it. It is the type of game where suffering is the point tho, so if you're into that, I recommend. Turn based RPG game. Really cool art too.
8. Orcs Must Die 2 - Another tower defense game, but this one is a blend with a shooter. It's quick paced and fun and the characters and orcs are funny. I love this one.
7. Frostpunk - Dystopian ice age city builder. The art is also amazing. Again...math...so...I do what I can...which usually means turning down difficulty but I still love it. It's a bit depressing but...I like that.
6. Banished - Medieval/Cononial periods inspired city builder. The base game is good enough, but I admit I can no longer play without one of he handful of massive mods that make it a lot more involved and rewarding. Also, I like going all agricultural age all over the map. Playing it right now in a borrowed laptop and enjoying it still.
5. Stardew Valley - At first glance I didn't think I'd enjoy it so much but I played the heck out of this during the first leg of the pandemic. There's a lot to do in this game, farming, animal husbandry, mining and killing monsters, making friends with locals, choosing one of the handful of dull villagers to tie the knots with, having babies who never grow up, meeting the wizard, finding the witch hut, sailing to an island with more crap to do. It's a lot of fun. One of the games I miss playing since my laptop broke again.
4. Don't Starve [Together] - Survival games have a special spot in my introvert, lonely heart and DS is one of the first I got into. It's got beautiful Tim Burton-esque art and funny characters and music and it was very spooky to me when I first played it. I probably played the co-op version, Don't Starve Together, longer, because I played it with friends as well as alone because it's doable and DST offers thing you don't have in the regular game.
3. Dark Souls - I actually only managed to get my hands on (it was a gift) this game and try it recently. I gave up multiple times because it's more than challenging. It's hard. Probably not for "pro gamers" but it was for me and I beat it the first time only with the help of a cheaty mod that let me turn down difficulty. I have played it the normal way several times since and it's definitely taught me to play defensively and to actually think about my moves more than any other game. I know it's an oldie, but I love it and miss it since the pooter when poof.
2. The Long Dark - Another survival game and possibly my favorite. You're alone in Great Bear Island (Canada). Probably alone in the world after a geomagnetic storm that took out electricity and nothing works anymore and the world is getting colder. There's a story mode but I actually never played it much, I play survival mode. You can make it as difficult or as easy as you want. It's challenging and you can die from hunger, from cold, from predators, all that good stuff! I am currently playing it in my borrowed pooter.
1. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - This one gets the first spot because I've played it, A LOT, in both PC and x-box 360. The replayability for me was great. I played it many times, trying different builds. And yes the game is buggy and glitchy as hell and it's got many issues, but I love it. I love the freedom it gave me to do what I wanted. It countered all of its weaknesses for me. I never had a beefy enough computer to play it with all the best mods, but I dream of the day I winthe lottery and buy the best PC to really beef up this game and play it all over again.

ffxiv patch 6.3 maintenance = servers down for tonight welp
i was working on the book of skyfire 1 with the extremely rare and stupid FATES when i had to eat dinner and shower so uh welp guess ill do that tomorrow now idk
hm i think ill have to choose between bloons 6, creeper world 3 or 4, or just. firing up the deck and finally playing bayonetta 1 or wolfenstein or something. sadly lara croft rise of the tomb raider is taking forever to download lol its like 50+ gb or something honestly ridiculous lol
also, i think its quite funny but, the original thief games dont work on steam/linux without modding. like. this ancient game from like 1997 or 98 or something, thief 1, also known as Thief Gold (i think is the title on steam to differentiate it from the Thief 2014 (reboot??)) doesnt work on the cutting edge of technology/linux. like. we have to download a thief mod to fix it, idk why lol. tbh i’ve been planning on getting it anyways if i were to play it on pc as it was originally intended just bc i hear that it has some compatibility patches for windows 10/11 and also lighting fixes or something for immersion/fixing crappy graphics anyways and i think the reason that linux doesnt like it is something about the cutscenes rendering?? i honestly dont really understand, is it like the cutscenes are literally some old windows movie maker files that the game keeps in a separate folder and loads every time or what lol
(other news tho since squareenix is currently just killing itself for stupid nfts, at least eidos montreal and crystal dynamics are finally free of their bs lol maybe we can finally have a proper new thief to scratch the itch that the original thief and dishonored series left us on. theres not enough good sneaky games out where >_<  oh an deus ex i guess. never played it but i do have it on my steam backlog and i’ve heard that once you get over the silly jank of early pc games it and the story really hold up, im looking forward to playing it sometime)
edit: looked up why some games that are old + some visual novels that really shouldnt be that demanding hardware-wise aren’t playable, aaaaannd yup, its a cutscene / windows movies file issue. or, as this article puts it, “ seems to fail because in-game videos use a problematic Windows Media Player codec that could be difficult to implement through Steam Deck's Linux Proton compatibility layer.” theres also some issues that are just keyboard/mouse heavy games so it can be hard to play if you dont have a bluetooth keyboard/mouse on hand already. the article is from jan 2022 though, so hopefully some of these issues have been fixed. also love how they put “Final Fantasy” in the verified games list. like. bro, which one?????? there are 15 final fantasies plus some extras, its a very misleading game series names truly lol.
theres also i guess a community driven site about players testing the games thru proton themselves, looks like someone managed to get amnesia memories to work somehow????? 3 months ago??? even though steam store is showing me a no, this person says it does? maybe they modded it or used wine or something to install it rather than the standard proton linux that steam runs on. ive only used wine to run utau and a ds emulator on my macbook, i really dont know enough abt linux to play around with it tbh....
sure would be nice for the op of that comment to like. idk. have a more detailed comment on how they got it to work or something.
the website itself lets you put in your steam id url or number and you can check how many games in your library are verified - steam’s rating vs community/linux tinkering rating. cool. i have 46 steam verified games yayyy

🌷💞✨ answer with 3 random facts about yourself, then send this to 10 other people 🌷💞✨
"Oh, I hate being put on the spot like this, blablabla" and then proceeds to put lil' ol' me on the spot! Anyway;
1. I genuinely and truly hate and despise and loathe and abhor and disapprove of the concept of 'meta' in gaming. I fucking hate every single bit of it. Any game; Elsword, Pokemon, League of Legends, Bloons Tower Defense 6, etc. etc. I really, truly, believe it sucks the life out of every game and makes it so unfun to play. And this is with me understanding the way that life works; for instance, Pokemon - not every Pokemon is made to be good, they're not made to be equal. Some strategies, at some point, will be doing better than others. Some units will be faring better than others. But they become structural (go *fuck* yourself de Saussure!!!) and so repetitive. Does anyone really have fun playing the same shit over and over and over again? Facing Landorous THICC, thinking of ways how to get rid of Stealth Cocks, playing the same 50/50 Sucker Punch mind games every single game. "Oh, but I have fun winning". Cool. I don't want any player to NOT have fun. I want the game to be fun myself, but I also want games to become more fluid, and more creative. This also applies to balancing the metagame because it's so fucking impossible to do in some cases like - the aforementioned - League of Legends. The player base is so fucking allergic to change and fun, they reject any fun concepts quicker than the body rejects any transplants. It's like walking on eggshells. And for some reason balancing for so many companies (I'm looking at you KoG) is about nerfing strong shit instead of buffing the lacking. You'll get into never-ending cycles this way. Or Diablo 3. This game releases patch notes every fucking half year (parabole) and they endlessly suck ass. Witch Doctor, which happens to be my favourite class, is just straight-up forced to play 3 spells every build; you will not last a second without them. How is that fun? You have 23 spells and 6 slots; every (and I mean EVERY) WD builds plays Piranhado (pixel pulling is just too good), Spirit Walk (have luck surviving without it in tightly pulled groups) and Soul Siphon (only way you'll ever reach coveted 75% damage reduction on any WD build); then every set requires you to play one supporting spell (Wall for Helltooth for instance) and one damage amp (usually with the ring of emptiness you play Loctus Swarm, but Zummimasa, for instance, has to play mana costing spell regardless of what it is) and that leaves you with one spell to play around? How is anyone having fun with this tightly cookie-cutter nonsense is beyond me, I wish I was you. Rant over and I'm so sorry.
2. Speaking of gaming! Do any of you remember when games had like… An aesthetic that they stuck to? Or a way they modelled shit? I've been heavily reminded of this when I watched someone play Sly Copper for its 10th anniversary or something. Like, I'm not the one to talk because it's not like I play 10 new games every month or top 10 games every year, but I've noticed the diminish of the style with time. Maybe it's just me but many games are striving to look like Witcher now or some shit. Graphics that would set your graphic card on fire. Processes that will murder your PC. And all of that for what??? All flash no substance. Yeah, it's nice when games look pretty but not every game needs to require the 100,000,000-dollar graphic card that is more akin to a murder weapon, than a computer part. I've been playing a lot of Guild Wars 2 lately. The game is nothing when compared to Witcher for some basic bitches; because it doesn't render every pore, every hair strand or every grain of sand; but the game is fucking beautiful. It has consistent graphical choices, it has an aesthetic it hits every time, and it is just fucking pretty. Sly Copper games received progressively better graphics - given new possibilities of player's equipment and new technology, but they retain the art, and the aesthetic it has. Fuck it, call me 'not like other girls', but I'd rather have poorly animated and pixelated Lara, over whatever the studio will hit me with when they release the new "Tomb Raider: the continuing of disappointments". And again, what is it all for? I'm not in the industry but I see merit in a lot of graphical designers and other graphical-related jobs, complaining about the poor treatment they receive, just like voice actors. They spent 4 years making a model for a game that has 8 hours of playtime and costs 200000000000 dollars and they see none of it. Give me a fucking break!
3. On a more chill note; my gay awakenings - The Agenda. Infinity from the "10+2" tv series; I've received the info that folks from America don't know it and y'all missing out! Go pirate it! (also if anyone ever wondered why I dress like a library goblin. And yes he's 50% responsible for my haircut choices). Mulan and her adventures as Ping. And also her in general; I really like that most of her adversities she overcame with wits and smarts and not brute strength, even as a man. And also… I mean. # Shang is Bi 2020? The Emperor's New Groove; because I wish I could be THIS flamboyant. I mean naturally. Also Kronk. And Yzma. That's all I'm gonna say. Brother Bear because fuck yeah power of love and friendship and growth. And also? Encanto, Frozen, Moana… They ALL want what Brother Bear has when it comes to music. Y'all can keep dreaming; Brother Bear has good genes money can't buy and I know Kenai has 3 boyfriends. And last but not least; I want whatever Yellow has in the Pokemon Manga series. I'm just sayin'
Anyway, thanks for putting me on the spot! Have a nice day~!
