IM SO ON IT! just like the last design hc post, i’ll add little rundowns of some of the design traits!

DAZAI

my dazai design has gone thru a LOT of phases, as well as just a bit of exploration… a few common and solidified traits about him however:

- dazai’s very tan, and his hair is VERY curly, bordering coily. in my hc he’s ethnically mixed :3 (japanese and bangladeshi!)

- soft but sharp face, big nose, and soft big eyes. thick eyebrows too! i based his colour scheme off the manga one, so, dark brown almost black hair instead of a lighter brown, and dark brown eyes instead of a chestnut brown.

- SNAKEBITE PIERCINGS! in me nd the lovely @fiftyofhearts ‘ hcs (hes the asker here hai ethan :3), he got them done w ranpo and yosano.

- he’s fat. okay. i said so. the silhouette of his big ass clothes (the trenchcoat specifically) makes him look a little smaller, but thats still very much true.

- he’s scruffy. goes through periods of shaving vs not shaving but generally has a little bit of wispy facial hair more often than not. also, he’s transmasc!!! he binds w bandages also its not good. don’t do what he does. i don’t encourage unsafe binding

- 14 to 16-zai was very hyperfem. i don’t think he had that realization that he was trans until a liiiil bit later. maybe around 17? very subtly transitioned. i dont think he outwardly came out to many people other than probably chuuya, oda, and ango. everyone else just caught on eventually. he definitely went solely by his last name to disassociate from his deadname and eventually chose the name “osamu” as his first later on

- prisonzai is FULL of facial hair! his hair has gotten a lil longer too. that’s due to the fact that i’d imagine honestly his hair grows Very fast. and they’re not gonna give him a razor to shave this is literally prison

- he’s a lesbian btw

SIGMA

somehow, the sigma design has stayed relatively linear.

- LATINA SIGMA REALNESS!!!!!!!!!! a little ethnically ambiguous canonically because she was made from a book. duh. but tbh i think shes argentinian

- tan skin, very cool undertone. soft and droopy eyes, SUPER thick eyebrows, and white eyelashes. very round face and big and wide arched nose. she has a bit of a pathetic and sopping wet look to her, but she still looks very kind and gentle. most of the time while she’s masking (usually while working), that kinda works in her favour. adds to the warm and inviting feeling she’s got goin on. however, her resting face is very sad and miserable.

- she’s tall and lanky, kinda skinny. very lean and relatively average build. her colour scheme and outfit design is adjacent to the way she’s drawn in the manga. i love her so much but i dont like the anime depiction of her outfit… sorry bbg. she’s perfect in every way however

- i think generally, she’s very androgynous. enjoys dressing very androgynously too. you know how in stormbringer lippmann is described as like, so androgynous to the point where if he dressed femininely men would go crazy ‘nd if he dressed masculinely women would go crazy?? yeah. she’s got something similar goin on. switches between dressing femininely and masculinely and very in-between often. always doing something cute.

- in my eyes she is so transfem. no sort of medical transition, tho… just socially. came out that page serving cunt and she’ll continue to the day she dies

- she wears press on nails me-thinks. usually black almonds or stilettos, sometimes she switches it up to purple however.

- hair cut is kinda weird but like ???? its like if u mixed a hime cut w a wolf cut basically. or smthn like that. lots of layers. yes that’s her natural hair colour btw, she’s just cute like that.

- she’s also a lesbian btw

i’m only rlly getting into drawing jōno recently.. so lots of things keep changing. however, i HAVE decided on something.

- jōno is very much so blasian. lightskinted…. hair is pretty wavy but rests pretty straight just cuz of the haircut. the red is dyed btw. she didn’t care much abt the colour, someone asked to fuck w her hair, and she begrudgingly told them to go crazy. everyone seems to like it however, so she’s down w it.

- SMILE LINES. SMILE LINES AND EYE WRINKLES. product of keeping her eyes closed literally all the time. and her stupid smug resting face. she’s also filled with freckles and beauty marks. majority of them are on her face, but she’s definitely got some around her body as well.

- jōno is Tall. around 5’11” ethan has decided. she’s got a very graceful build but she’s NOT small, nor thin. lots of muscle and fat collecting around her thighs and legs, her strongest asset when it comes to physical strength methinks. have you SEEN how violently she’s able to kick people??? cmon now.

- very elegant woman in every aspect Except personality. i love her she’s actually SUCH a bitch

- again. TRANSFEM! if i like a male character.. heh… well… let’s just say they’re no longer male. (unless you’re dazai. he’s boybossing it up every day)

- she’s ALSO a lesbian btw

- i don’t have a lot to say for her i just love her so much omg

ok, so, dont worry, im not gonna abandon this blog. i am, however, going to change it. as much as i love this community and have had a great time here, i do not control the hyperfixation, and i think instead of fighting it, im going to come up with a new solution for it.

technically, ive HAD a solution for it for a very long time- that solution being the very character i rp as on this blog now. moss is not confined to any one world, nor even to the same flow of time. that allows my brain to jump around and do whatever the got darn heck it wants to, because i can throw my little guy / self insert / persona / myself into as many worlds and situations as i want, and nobody can tell me im wrong. well, they can, but they can also suck my

anyways.

if you were following me for pokemon irl stuff, feel free to unfollow, i wont be upset. i will still do some pokemon stuff from time to time (as well as a lil in-character transition/explanation of the blog change), but tbh i doubt its gonna be for a while. i AM going to do a bunch of silly interdimensional meta multiverse bullshit, because the undertale fandom (among others, but that was my first and tbh strongest fandom, so) changed me, and i am trying to learn to embrace what makes me happy again, even if it is Cringe(tm).

i dont really have a proper story planned out per se, so its not gonna be super coherent all the time.. altho tbh i never really did, so ig thats not gonna change much :skykid_giggle: itll mostly just follow moss thru whatever they happen to be goin thru! which will usually be whatever i happen to b thinkin of, so.. ye! gonna b a bit.... odd.

so uh.. yeah. expect a theme change, prolly just back to the default tungle theme cuz im lazy rn, and expect a few posts where moss explains whats happening. or dont, and if you're unfollowing, i hope you enjoyed the ride! stay safe have fun ilu ::3

this is less a tutorial and more a semi in-depth explanation on my process while taking screenies. my do’s and don’ts about lightning, angles, text/dialogue, close-ups and other!

as a disclaimer, anyone is free to take their screenies however they want and this is just my personal preference and opinions ♡ everything is under the cut! i did say its LONG so dont say i didnt warn u 😳

i use the nobluv2 and noglo mods by luumia! i recommend them 100000%

1. lightning

with its exceptions, this being i’m in a room with candles/chandelier/anything that doesnt naturally produce a white light OR ambiance reasons, my setting with screenies is with the ‘Neutral White’ color. this is for me, more visually appealing than just bathing your sim in yellow light.

i usually test my lightning before i actually take any screenies so my sim is well-lit but also preventing overexposure bc of the lighting. an example of overexposure is when for example the lighting is SO strong, your sim looks like its ‘shining’

you can see it here on her chest highlights, her arm and her cheeks. i exaggerated it here so its more obvious. fixing overexposure is HARDER than upping the brightness in a poor-lit screenshot. overexposure and makin sims look like they are SHINING is a crime. JAIL

the best light ever tbh. just dont get... to carried away

1.2 outdoor lightning

this is one a bit trickier depending on your location but USUALLY your screenies would look well dark. again, test lightning before actually shooting screenies! i generally look for a lamp posts that have good lightning and shrink them down so if im taking angled shots, it doesnt get in the way. change the color to neutral white and if its too much lightning, just lower the dimmer:

in general, you can ZOOM to the max, and with the scroll-wheel zoom out THREE TIMES. four times we on the edge but its still acceptable. five times and you are goin to JAIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

in general i also recommend having a semi-big room so you can move around without any problems. small rooms DO work but chances are while moving around you’re either going to go outside the room, run into a plant in the shot or into another decor item.

for example, this is a ‘small’ room. while taking photos i have run into the bookshelves for over the shoulder shots like 8000 times. still, doable, but why put myself thru the suffering>?????

2.2 fill the room

nothin sadder than, for example, doing a bedroom scene and there just being...a bed. the game comes with so much clutter and theres also a lot of clutter cc to make rooms seem more ‘lived in’. its also a lot more visually appealing than the room being empty.

3. angles for screenies

my controversial OPINION!!!! i dont care for FULL surroundings shots for more than for a singular panel. THERE I SAID IT!!! usually i show the surroundings/scene setting in ONE panel and then i move on to other angles. again, has exceptions. these being a banquet, party, ball, another sim joins the scene, montages, etc! ANYWHERE that has something happening with multiple people in general.

for example, i don’t see why repeat the same angle with different poses. i can do it for one panel, but for the next ones? there’s the option of over the shoulder shots,  detail shots, them looking at each other shots, cinammon tography shots........... more than likely your reader already has an idea of where your characters are so showing it in every single panel is not necessary.

always try and leave a lil breathin room for the heads on top so it isnt all CRAMPED! but this all depends on the pose, if theres a height difference included in said poses and the angle you are taking the screenshot from!

same thing about not just doing...full on surrounding shots for when something is HAPPENING. say, someone is fainting, collapsing...ANYTHIN!! theres so many shot options than just repeating the same angle over and over again. DONT BE SHY!!!! DO VARIETY !!!

we in photography class now. BUT yes keep these in mind ALSO while taking photos so it isnt just the same angle, same distance just different pose. your sim has a nice outfit? showing it once is enough! every panel? ummmm......... your sim is crying?  do a medium close up/medium shot and not a full body shot!

3.1 close ups

your close ups and ALL screenies in general, don’t have to be FRONTAL only. they can be right/left side, a lil angled...

waist/chest level is a good level for a close-up sim wise since if you ZOOM in too much WELL

4. text/dialogue

i’d recommend any SANS-SERIF fonts. serif fonts are so hard to read even if nice looking. usually a font-size of over 40px+ works and you can add outside stroke and even drop shadow!

i personally use calibri (bold italic) for my screenies, but other subtitle fonts like arial, myriad pro, helvetica...really any sans-serif ones work.

i also wouldn’t recommend putting 4000 word paragraphs in ONE screenie because it’s just visually exhausting. the MAXIMUM i’d do and thats if ABSOLUTELY necessary is FOUR!!!! lines of text. id keep it to three ONLY and thats if your text is the same size as mine. if bigger then two 😳

another no-no for readability is INSIDE stroke or adding bevel/emboss to the text. pick bright, contrasting colors to the background or even clothes your characters are wearing so it’s not hard to read.

something a lil extra i also recommend is if your dialogue has different sentences and one ends and another one starts in the same line, continue it on another line. DOES THIS MAKE SENSE ok lets see:

the “Yes, maybe I went on [...]” continues on the first line, but to make it a bit easier to read just press enter and move it to the second line so it’s on it’s own line.

same thing for the "Be nice or [...]” line! it gets cut off to the third line anyways, so just put it in a singular line. final result:

for me, this is easier to read, less I GUESS ‘immersion breaking’  and easier on the eyes too.

and just other quick things to keep in mind:

will the post be horizontal or vertical? if its vertical, you have to angle and move the camera around keeping in mind you’re going to crop it later. yes, the scenary might be nice if its horizontal, but a lil vertical photo is cute!

best times for OUTDOOR lightning photos are 2pm-4pm. morning light is a bit too dark, 12 pm is the slightest too bright, but 2pm-4pm is just ENOUGH!!!

wssheshaaahgdhg the horses. the horses are goin thru some TURMOIL rn. but. about the extra legs. this is just a Cassandrian Quirk if you will, it worked for the fishy ancestor now most animals have that bodyplan. it does work tho, cuz cassandra is hella unstable and very rocky and mountainous, so the extra stability of having more legs helps a lot. it does mean that many animals are a lot slower than animals on earth are able to get. although some animals like wolves (which i posted like a week ago or smthn i do not remember when tbh) and probably. some others. that i havent thought of yETAHFJSURJS. have evolved centaurism where the first forelimbs are held up in order to be out of the way while running, prioritizing speed and agility.

wow that went way off base but anyway. horses and pegasi ARE related, but way back a long fuckin time ago idk when i havent gotten that detailed the pegasi decided to have a fuckin party and evolved wings to take advantage of that nice empty niche of being nightmarish sky demons. this happened mostly because i really like weird takes on mythological creatures tbh. btw check out almost real’s griffins cuz they have given me just so much cool ideas. and just. jayrockin’s art in general?!!?? dude i am so sorry this is so off topic i just started typing and here i am but anywa. plaese tell me about ur animals i want to know

Okay so with dream's character. initially i was moreso on the idea of hes Supposed To Be an Unsympathetic Villain. Like. Jus a run of the mill Evil Bad Guy. Altho they couldnt like........... form that from the beginnin so its more like a well meaning dude who fell from grace. Fallen angel vibes. Whatever.

But im like. Im starting to be Very sympathetic to his character Largely because of just..... the Idea around what he is goin thru now in the Prison and Mostly how i see ppl talkin bout it.

Dream has done horrible fucked up things. Hes been abusive and manipulative and frankly i understand hating him. Id Also like. Understand if the other characters continue hating him and painting him as the Big Bad Evil. I expect it tbh

But the whole.... like. How people consider him getting 'punished' and imprisoned and tortured as retribution for what hes done. Its very. I dont know how to say it without sounding like an ass but its a very Christian Ideal that suffering and punishment is a requirement in order to change. Same with forgiveness.

Its just. This entire idea that because of the horrible things dream has done, he 'deserves' to be tortured, isolated, hurt, imprisoned. All kinds of horrific things. That its Fine, since he has apparently done 'worse' and sometimes its the only way for him to be 'fixed' or get better.

I dont vibe w it. The entire idea of like. Retribution and suffering being Deserved since someone did something Bad or Horrible. Like its not even just Consequences. Its beyond someone experiencing the affects of what they Themself have done. And its kinda... i see it in A Lot of other characters n how they are considered.

Seeing that techno's execution was 'deserved' because he had hurt other people, ive seen ppl say that phil deserves to die so that techno can experience pain. This idea that characters need to Suffer in some way is. Fucking weird.

Anyways i want dream out of prison now actually mans aint done SHIT to warrant gettin tortured daily. For fucks sake

surprised by how frequent pokemon evolve compared to the anime

cool how they justified the whole badge thing but doesnt that only apply to traded pokemon lol kinda cool seeing the 3 good gym leaders helping out the heroesit seems another theme this manga has in spades is the moral ethics of animal testing and genetic experimentation

gonna be frank here, leaf's heelfaceturn would probably be more impactful if we got to see more of her arc before this chapter. but sadly the manga's been like, solely focused on red with the other 2 dex holders so far getting pushed back in favor of putting him in the spotlight. like maybe i didnt notice, but this change comes somewhat from nowhere in my opinion

like i dont think we really saw any sign of her wanting to change or her wanting to be a dex holder beforehand. that said maybe im just not as appreciative since im p sure these chapters were released like on a monthly basis back then or something. but yeah reading thru them all at once instead of as they release, the pacing issues start to bubble thru imo. but maybe im just being bratty

again, the subtle bits of development green/blue has gotten aren't like, really that impactful when the manga has spent the majority of it's run focused on Red going from place to place

also given how sparse g1's postgame is i really wonder how they're gonna pad out the rest of the g1 stuff

they already took care of mewtwo so what can they really do after this? move onto g2?

alright so basically for me it’s like 100% canon that Mermista and Sea Hawk literally,,,,, do not plan to have kids at any time soon but I don’t think it’s as much of a “I hate kids” thing and more like it was never something either of them really considered/thought about? so like whenever they eventually do sleep together it’s like not really a huge concern for either of them because like. They’re both hot and also I like to think that sickness doesn’t really exist on etheria beyond magical sickness, and if I recall correctly no one ever really *did* get sick on the show outside of magically-induced sicknesses, maybe there’s like little colds and food poisoning here and there but nothing that magic can’t totally fix- which is my long winded way of saying that in my head STDs/STIs don’t exist in etheria so the thought of protection totally slips both of their minds fbsdnjkfbsd 

Okay so in my head it’s about the time of the flash forward (~2/3 years post finale) and I can’t fully decide if I think they have gotten married at this point yet (if ever) but I think if they did it was as a joke/celebration/Sea Hawk wanted to throw a party kind of thing. I digress. Anyway this whole thing starts because let’s say princess prom ii and Scorpia’s first ball fall within the same week and Mermista has too much to drink like three days in a row (Catra challenged her to a drinking game and she lost real bad)  and unfortunately Sea Hawk is Very Bad at resisting Mermista when she shows him the kind of affection that she does when she’s like that (they boned.) 

anyway, now I have to kinda assume etherian mermaid anatomy is like huamn anatomy in which case, It’s about a month later and our poor fish wife is goin thru it and big suffering because she has the kind of morning sickness where she can’t vomit for whatever reason and is just nauseous all day and Sea Hawk is like,,, off on an adventure or something so he can’t dote on her so she’s not only real sick she also is missing her himbo and Simply Is Not having a Good Time. SO she calls up whatever doctor they have on etheria (would it be the magicians in mystacor? I cannot decide) So she like goes and tries to figure out what’s wrong because again having kids is deadass the last thing on her mind and Sea Hawk currently has custody of the brain cell since he’s off doing pirate shit or whatever so Mermista is like very obviously pregnant and showing all the signs of it but she’s still like *surprised pikachu face* about it and it just jsnsdfjlkfjksdf HUH???? and then they’re like did you use any sort of protection? and she is like. no. and then the doctor’s like: are you actively having sex? and the answer is yes and often and the doctor’s face is just so incredibly amusing like I can literally just see it now jsdflnflfdnk Its like princess,,, what did u expect like im

ANYWAY so Sea Hawk is off doin his pirate thing, which really just means he visits his friend’s kingdoms and vibes and then goes to seaworthy and arm wrestles for stupid things. One day, he encounters a very familiar Seagull who hops over to him and basically tells him he needs to get his ass to Salineas now and that can only mean one thing-  so Sea Hawk fuckin HUSTLES to Salineas and makes it there in record time. (just to be clear- he’s not really expecting anything, he just knows that if Mermista summons him via Seagull it’s like their mutual understanding that she either really misses him or it’s the Most Important Thing Ever. either way, if he doesn’t move fast, he will have a very upset mermaid on his hands.)

So when he makes it to Salineas, there’s Mermista waiting on the dock which is like super weird because even when she sends for him via seagull she’s always kinda nonchalant about everything and is just like. in the palace chilling somewhere. Regardless, she’s on the dock and looks so fucking nervous and so many other emotions that Sea Hawk can’t read which is so weird to him because she’s the one person he always can read. (she was a poem,,, he could only read one thing vibes ) So anyway he like leaps off the boat in some dramatic bisexual fashion and meets her. She kinda tells him and it just slips out more nervous than she expected because literally they haven’t talked about it and she feels so stupid for not considering it but its like there’s so much with Salineas being rebuilt and helping around all of Etheria and keeping everything from fucking falling apart again and- Sea Hawk just kinda looks at her and asks her what she wants and pretty much tells her that all he cares about is making sure she’s okay with whatever happens, because as cool as it would be to have someone that has his gorgeous hair and her stunning face to go on adventures with he’s just like. I want you to be happy. 

and honestly? She cries. So after a long talk, and some input from some others (Micah and Netossa and Spinnerella, Sea Hawk’s own parents and weirdly enough, rogelio and kyle since they pretty much adopted imp)they decide that somehow without realizing it, they became a couple that was mature enough and ready enough for a child,,, which is so weird because sea hawk almost burned down the palace kitchen not even 2 months ago but like. they’re happy together, they understand each other’s strengths and weaknesses, and are in such a good place in their relationship it just makes sense.

its been a busy fuckin week for this mod my ladz!!! i thought i would just give an end of week run down how everything is going, everything added so far and my to do list! also discord!!! and patreon!!! but i’ll talk abt that after this!! a general run down if u dnt know what this wip mod is:

The Royalty Mod gives your sims the opportunity to being the reigning Monarch of your game. They have the chance to become a Beloved Ruler or a Despised Tyrant (and will be treated as such!) They will be completely in control of a custom tax system, will the be benevolent and keep the taxes low or be greedy and fill their coffers with their subject’s simoleans? Be careful though, your actions will affect your citizens and their views of you! Your Monarch will be the most important piece of the puzzle, as they will be able to give titles to family and friends... or even a random street vendor. Having your Monarch bestow titles such as Crown Royals, Royal Partners, Servants, Court Wizards and more, keeps you out of CAS and IN your game! No more stopping and starting your gameplay!

A general overview of everything included so far:

Monarch: - A custom Heir system: Your Monarch can choose anyone bestowed with the title of Crown Royal or Royal Partner to become the next in line to the throne! And if they decide they made a mistake, the Heir can be disowned :((( sad lyfe As soon as the Monarch passes away, the Heir will automatically claim the throne! - If your Monarch dies before they get a chance to name an heir, then any Crown Royal or Royal Partner can vie for the throne. Whoever the people choose (gets to reputation level 6 - very good) first, will become the next Monarch! - Teens and up can become the Monarch, (lookin at u edward the 6th) - Custom tax system! Raise taxes to get more money instantly and in your weekly tax collection, but incur the ire of your subjects! Lower taxes and you will lose money and earn less each week but your subjects will love you! - Your Monarch will draw a crowd wherever they go! Even with no fame points they’ll attract a mass of adoring onlookers. (But no paparazzi for my historical players) - Make world-wide decrees - Listen to your subjects pressing concerns by telling your Trusted Advisor that you will hold a hearing, get that gud gud karma!! - Make anyone a Crown Royal! - Make the land celebrate your own birthday with a new Monarch’s Birthday tradition, with custom goals to be met! - Don’t walk like the rest of these peasants, make sure to enable your royal stride to royally stand out from the crowd. Not enough? Enable your regal glow to really drive home that you’re better than everyone else! - Royal greetings! - Allow your subjects to commence Sunday trading on a lot with the Market lot trait! quite calm about the whole coronavirus

like he knows it is serious and understands how it is spread but he’s still calm about it??

tells everyone to sanitize and wash hands on a regular. and social distancing!!

honestly still wakes up like he does on normal school days and does all his academics just fine.

he even does gym activities (besides volleyball) for 30 minutes to an hour!!!! he be running on that treadmil! getting stronk!

does each subject on his own for 20-40 min each day. he’s really good at self discipline

makes sure sugawara and asahi are up to date on school work and will gladly help.

sadly can’t help the first years (and probably second years) because that info is deep in his brain and basically forgot how to do it after a year or two of not using it.

VERY VERY VERY sad that volleyball nationals are cut off. this is his last year and for it to be??? gone??? just because of some flu?!?! hates it.

he wishes school to go back and still has hope that school will go back to normal in a couple of weeks (even though it’s a slim chance).
