You know what annoys me the most about the GA of Stranger Things? It's that they always (and I mean ALWAYS) make fun of Will's haircut. Now I would be perfectly fine with it if the friendly bullying on Will's hair was balanced by insights into the depth and traumas of his character. Actually aknowledging how good of a character he is.

(Example: Steve Harrington, since whenever he gets mentioned the conversation always leads to his glorious hair. Then the conversation segues to how good of a character he is, and how good his character development is, etc.)

But that never happens when it comes to Will. The GA only ever talk about his bowlcut and make fun of him for it (if they mention Will at all, which, lets be honest, the GA also likes to forget he exits). They make their super original "get Will a new barber" joke and then move on COMPLETELY DISREGARDING WILL'S ENTIRE CHARACTER.

It's like they completely missed the whole point of the fucking show. Stranger Things is about nerds and outcasts finding friends and being heros and kicking the upside downs ass. It's about characters who have cringey hobbies and bad haircuts and questionable fashion choices show that they're so much more then some joke. It's about showing people that were/are bullied stick up to the bullies and winning. ABOUT THE BULLIES BEING THE BADGUYS AND LOOSING.

They need to take a hint and use one percent of their brainpower to look beyond the surface of Will's character.

i feel like we kinda miss the whole. catalyst for fiona and lips relationship exploding.

here's your older sister, and here's the only person you've ever been able to trust. she tells you to get out again and again and again, even though you're so afraid that the moment you turn around everything is going to fall apart. getting out, and then getting the rest of them out, is your job. that's what your supposed to do.

neither of you have been able to trust your parents and all you have is each other, and she's telling you to get out. and it's either doom everyone around you by staying, or trust her and leave.

and then, right as you're finally starting to find the rhythm of a world you've beed denied access to your whole life, it's because of her, the only person you've ever been able to trust in you entire existence, because of you leaving and trusting, that your five year old brother almost dies. he's comatose. he's covered in tubes. he might never be the same again. the only person you've ever trusted has done the exact same thing your parents did. Put drugs and alcohol and letting loose above the kids their supposed to take care of.

Is it any wonder Lip stops trusting her. That Lip takes the longest to forgive her. "it wasn't her coke she didn't leave it out" she got high around a toddler and left him near the cocaine. left the cocaine where he could get it. the two other adults picked him up and danced with him with coke on the table. Lip walks in on this after spending an entire day trying to rescue their other brother. His little sister is the one who finds their baby brother.

even discounting that in response to this he has to suddenly start stealing food or else all the kids in the house will starve, or that Fiona suddenly jackrabbits into another person he has to care for instead of someone he can trust, or that he now has to care for a 4 year old, while working a job, and being a full time college student on work study, discounting all of that of course Lip looses faith in his sister. Of course he does.

Is there a cat in cannon who got a good death who you think didn't deserve it? Especially if they committed crimes?

Tom the Wifebeater and his redemption death. No question. It's not even close.

Not only do I reject to the "redemption death" on the grounds of it being Tom the Wifebeater who is bullying others until his dying breath, even taunting Thunder about Turtle Tail is dead and the kits must be very torn up about it, but I reject "redemption through death" entirely. I don't like it in stories. It's a theme I deeply object to.

And again it's fucking wild that every time a character is a father, even if they are a wifebeater or a child abuser, the writers think that it bestows a glimmer of goodness into them which every abused child is forced to appreciate and cry about. Breezepelt, Thunder, Tallstar, Tom's children, all of them forced to reconcile and admit how much they wuv their papa.

Abusive dads in WC regularly get redemption deaths, too. Clear Sky dies saving his grandchild, Sandgorse died saving a rando in a tunnel, Tom the Wifebeater saving his daughter.

But Tom the Wifebeater is the worst example of it. Hands down.

Making hsr npcs into main characters.

Spoilers for Argenti mission

I thought their role or story was interesting. Starting off, we have velite !! Now, velite was introduced in Argenti's mission.. as the one who he 'saved' he wors as an IPC worker. Who always wanted to be a piolet..

After defeating the bettles on the express. And defeating Argenti. He will say that it definitely doesn't care about Argenti, but in reality, he does! Because he devoted his life now to Argenti because he saved him. At the end of the quest, you get a text message from Argenti about how he defeated the giant stag that had swolled the express. An how Velite is learning how to piolet the one and only. (Turn you phone. )

I thought his story was interesting, along with Argenti as well. Why not make him a full character? I'll redraw this it's not good...

get urself a surrogate middle-aged father who can speedrun a forbidden romance in one minute and then immediately go to confront the darkest version/a corrupted version of himself, as well as his toxic lover as she tortures him -w-)b
