Plastic straws:

CONS: can never be properly recycled, last for centuries, never fully degrade, single-use, pollution, harmful to wildlife, plastic poisoning / micro plastic have a direct route to body

PROS: single use so slightly more hygienic, good for some disabled people who have issues with motor skills

Paper straws:

CONS: cant be recycled, sometimes contain plastics, emit greenhouse gas when they break down, can be bitten through by those with issues with motor skills, can go soggy fast

PROS: biodegradable, renewable, safe, hygienic and durable

Metal straws:

CONS: can conduct heat and become very hot if used with hot beverages, stiff, hygiene issues,

PROS: highly durable, can be cleaned 100% via boiling (cleaner then plastic!!) non toxic, long lasting, reusable, recyclable if broken

Silicon straws:

CONS: sometimes have a plastic taste similar to single use plastic, food can stick to them, sometimes aren't bendable,

PROS: non toxic, very easy to clean, long lasting, non plastic, reusable, safe, come in all sizes and shapes

wood/bamboo straws:

CONS: can spoil and rot, not as safe, deforestation especially if not bamboo, least hygienic, stiff, greenhouse gas when it breaks down

PROS: reusable, can break down, if bamboo it will be naturally antibacterial, so they're hygienic.

6. How easily could your OC be convinced to do something that goes against their moral compass?

eeeh... depends. She's the daughter of the most notorious "old guard pirate", so I think the whole morl compass thing is a little bit bendable to begin with. Mira is a good person at heart, but with morally questionable decisions she will very probably go and weigh the cost agains the gain and put her own reservations aside if the gain is worth it.

7. What's one way your OC has changed since you first came up with them?

Mira in herself is "a Sun who's changed since I first came up wit her" in that she is a version of Sun who grew up on her father's ship with Shanks and Buggy. But she's also changed since I first came p with her. Her devil fruit powers are more refined now and intertwined with what she inherited of her father's Haki powers. I'm bending the canon timeline for her A LOT. But first and foremost her personality deviates a lot more from Sun than it did in the beginning, becaus I realised how much Sun was a product of her experiences and that Mira didn't need that whole hard shell protecting her good heart, so she is now a lot softer than Sun.

13. If you met your OC, would the two of you get along?

I think so, yes. I love her a lot. Not sure she'd be just as fond of me, but a woman can hope (we definitely share our taste in men, so that's a start xD)

24. What is an alternative life path your OC might have gone down? How different would their life be if they'd made that decision?

Again, Mira is already on the big, alternative life path simply because she is the AU version of Sun, BUT there is one big decision that sets her life's course in a big way and if she didn't do it, things would be very different in that -

had she told Shanks what she found out about her captivity and the real reason behind her staged "rescue" instead of just running away in the middle of the night and breaking his heart, she would have had him by her side when she learned that she was pregnant and they could (and would) have raised their daughter togther instead of both being miserable on their own and their daughter always wondering who her real father was and why the thought of him made her mother so sad...

Their daughter might have never met the Straw Hats though, so not everything is bleak and sad in their version of reality ^^'

Consciousness was afforded to him at a trickle, starting with an outward ear twitch, hearing muffled as if they'd been stuffed with cotton. His voice was even more crackly than usual, and he coughed to clear his throat, partially bandaged ears pinned back with some irritation. "Sorry.. guess I.. strained my 'cords too.. all the yelling.." With a heavy sigh, he glanced somewhat longingly at the glass of water just out of reach, complete with a bendable straw. "Sorry.. can you-.. do you.. mind..?"

He felt similar during the court shit too, and the tremble in his hand is back and the urges are rising up again. He's can feel his feet on the edge of the cliff again, the tip of his shoe just poking over the edge.

He's not even sure when he got to the hospital, let alone in Benji's room. But at the very least he knows he signed in and mumbled something at the nurses or else he wouldn't have made it in here.

At the very least the first visit had been with Penny, he didn't fuck that up.

He doesn't sit in the chair in the room, No instead he kneels down onto the floor and drops his face into the mattress, messy locks spreading across it's surface.

Fingers brush against paw pads, and his hold is light. non-committal as if his touch might somehow make things worse. but old habits are are hard to break and his thumb starts to stroke the soft fur. and he jumps just a little when his fingers are enclosed and slight panic jolts him out of the fog.

"Wha....What?" his voice broke a little as he raised his head, clearing his own throat as he turns his head toward where Benji's gaze keep gesturing toward.

"Oh---Yeah, I can get it."

He takes in a breath, and manages to slip his hand away from the others hold, pushing himself up and grabbing the out of reach cup, pulling up the chair and sitting in it, leaning forward to hold the cup upright on the bed so that he could drink it without much struggle.

"Sorry...Did I wake you?"

The plastic cup is cute, and clearly intended to kids. It's small, the straw is short. And is perfect to days when I'm in bed and unable to even seat properly. It will be even better with a silicone bendable straw, but that's absurdly costly here.

The panda towel looks like a baby toy. And is perfect to be a soothing stim when I'm trying to sleep, and when I wake from a nightmare (I have an Infernal amount of nightmares, various each night, almost every night), the soft touch help me to remember where I am and that I am safe - it only looks unimportant for people who don't have nightmares caused by mental shit.

I avoided buying this for so long, because some kind of weird guilt. But been an adult is recognizing my needs and dealing with it, and again, like was with the cane, in the other side of guilt, there is less suffering.

Sometimes, fighting my internalized ableism is just dealing with how guilt I feel when getting things that make me feel better.

Hello, everyone, it's dinnertime! We've got some kind of soup that can only be made with local Trollan ingredients. Not obvious from this picture but will be in the following is that the soup bowls have little bendable spouts that serve as straws (had an earlier version of soup bowls in the Sorcerer's Quest).

Got the first bit of color for Arkia and Snoob in that conversation panel! It actually took me a bit to figure out what colors I wanted them to be (all I knew was that Snoob's clothing had to be a color close to red, and that Arkia was a redhead with green eyes).
