Decorate Your Home for Christmas With These Ideas
Tumblr media
The festival's love, kindness, and enthusiasm warm the bones during this lovely season when there's a nip in the air. And even if you could still consider what to get your loved ones as gifts and what to cook for the ideal Christmas dinner, don't let your house fall by the wayside.
After all, Christmas home decor is about spending quality time at the house with loved ones. Turning your home into a true wonderland with a little inspiration this year is simple.
1: A Pop Of Colour
Tumblr media
Replace the standard couch cushions with ones in holiday-themed colors, and add a plaid throw or rug for a splash of color. Just attach big bows or fresh pine sprigs to furniture like picture frames, mirrors, and bookcases to amp up the holiday atmosphere.
Place Christmas figurines on glass shelves and cupboards, and cover window sills and display cases with fairy light cords. The family area will feel cozier with candles, pine cones, and citrus fruits put carelessly around it.
2: Christmas Decor For Your Dining Room
Tumblr media
The centerpiece of your Christmas lunch will be the dining table, which demands the same level of care. Natural pine cones, light-colored rustic wooden serveware, and elegant metallics in snowflake silver or starlight gold mix wonderfully together. Make a simple candle stand out of little twigs or cinnamon sticks as a Christmas centerpiece.
3: Brighten Up The Bedroom With Xmas Cheer
Even though it's difficult to get out of bed in this cold, the nice Christmas decorations in your bedroom will make you happy. In contrast, throw cushions in complementary colors can be added to a blanket over the bed.
Red and gold candles strategically positioned on nightstands or window sills can work wonders to brighten the winter's gloom. Even a casually strung strand of fairy lights across the dresser or over the headboard will instantly give the space a holiday atmosphere.
4: Memories For The Wall
Create a "memories of the year" wall in your home and decorate it with photos of the adventures, vacations, and enjoyable times you have captured over the year. You'll be able to spend the holiday reflecting on the year and expressing thankfulness to your loved ones if you do it this way.
Additionally, the kids were allowed to upload photographs of Santa Claus, elves, snowmen, and any characters they liked. By taking some black chart paper, covering a sizable portion of the wall's surface area, and embellishing it with holiday decorations like snowflakes, holly, bows, and wreaths, you may make a place on the wall for images.
5: Christmas Treats
Tumblr media
Christmas would be incomplete without delectable delights like the gingerbread man and rum balls! Bake some gingerbread cookies, then let the kids help you decorate them with white, red, and green frosting and sprinkles.
To make chocolate balls resemble snowballs, you may coat them in grated coconut. Arrange them on a red paper plate as a centerpiece for your Christmas dinner party.
Christmas Decoration Ideas For The Heart Of Your Home – The Kitchen
Even though your guests might not enter your sacred kitchen, you will still want to be motivated while preparing a delicious holiday feast or a hot cup of cheer. You may easily decorate outdoor holiday decorations with evergreen garlands or sprigs, or metal signs.

If you're confused as to why some Jewish people find the Christmas season frustrating...
It can already be annoying even if you're Christian or culturally Christian. If you celebrate Christmas, you're participating in a religious Christian activity, I don't care how atheist you are.
And Christmas is relentless during the next two months. You literally cannot escape it. Christmas-themed decorations are literally everywhere, from people's houses to banners and lights affixed to public lampposts in every downtown area across the nation. Stores, schools, libraries, government buildings. It's everywhere. Half of all the radio stations play non-stop Christmas music. Every store plays a Christmas sound track. Salvation Army bell ringers dressed like Santa outside every big store. TV channels playing Christmas movies. Every online streamer and YouTuber does a Christmas episode. Christians use the season to proselytize, to convert.
The rest of the year, Christianity in the USA is background radiation: it's there, but it's easier to ignore. During Christmas? It's in your face and in your ears 24/7. For the better part of two MONTHS.
And now you have to remember Christianity's history of, you know, killing Jews, forcing them to convert, etc. And remember how people are so resistant to putting up any other kind of holiday decoration. They'll call something a "holiday party", but still only decorate in green and red and forget a menorah.
And maybe it's a little easier to understand why this is all so annoying, at best.
Note: this post isn't saying Christians shouldn't go hog wild. It IS saying that you need to understand that not everyone celebrates Christmas, and will therefore not share in the "Christmas spirit".

C.C Christmas headcanons? -🧶
[Yan Incubus + G.N Reader Christmas HCs]
"Santa? Never heard of her. Only lap that was should be sitting in is mine."
"Presents? Why do you need those when I'm the best gift you'll ever receive?"
•Despite the origins of the holiday and his, C.C is a rather festive devil - mostly cause he loves buying junk to spoil his loved ones with and he looks amazing in red. Adores all the pretty decorations around town and having the opportunity to string some up around his apartment with you. Buys the biggest tree that'll fit through his door and decorates his side of it mostly in handmade ornaments of you two together (Don't ask why most of them are of you asleep)
• Wants to bake cookies/make hot chocolate with you all the time, but don't be surprised if you find him spitting in the batter to add a lil extra excitement holiday cheer to the mix (I always forget his saliva is technically an aphrodisiac, but I didn't here)
• Wakes you up bright and early in his holiday best (one of those Santa dresses that rides his ass). Tries to be all cute by bringing you breakfast in bed he made all by himself.... and by that I mean the chef he hired. He knows what you like to eat if that any consolation.
• High chance you won't get through all the presents he gets for you before new years. If you show even the faintest interest in something at a store/online or express your grievances with something not working properly in your home, best believe this incubus has you covered. Throws some lingerie and other fun items into the pile because he's got to treat himself too sometimes, and there's no better way for him to do that than doll up his favorite toy. Hopefully you'll be nice enough to put on one of your new outfits for him as it's all he truly wants for Christmas...well that and your undying love and devotion.
• Wear the matching lingerie sweaters he ordered for you or he will cry and you'll never hear the end of it.
•Mistletoe strung up everywhere. Door frames, above the bed, taped to his horns if they're visible. You are giving this man his smoothes or there will be hell on earth. I doubt he'd allow guests unless it was family, but if anyone is caught underneath it with you that isn't him is getting booted out the nearest window.
• Might be best to keep an eye on the placement of the gift boxes when he's giving them to you - especially if they're in his lap and he invites you to stick your hand in blind. He does say he's the best present you'll receive.
• After the first round of opening presents, C.C would love nothing more than to cuddle up with you and watch some seasonal movies by the fire place. He may go on and on about all the things he can't wait to do to you with certain presents he ordered, but he'd honestly be out like a fucking light all snuggled up with his human surrounded by your love and the heat from the flame. There's always tomorrow anyway.

Insomniac miles and Peter with a reader on Halloween! :D
Peter Parker and Miles Morales x reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media
YES YES YES YES YES !!!!! Word count:900
Halloween is right around the corner, Peter and Miles knew how much you loved Halloween, It was one of your favourite holidays of the year besides Christmas. You were going to pull out all the stops this year, Running to the store and getting decorations and candy.
After which you rented a couple of movies online to watch, Peter was into the classics like the exorcist or A Nightmare on Elm Street, and Miles is into more modern horror like Talk to Me and A Quiet Place, So what else to do a marathon combining their movies together !!!
Peter was the first to arrive, tapping on your window to let him in.
"Hey Pete" You smiled opening the window and letting him inside.
"Wow you went all out on the decorations y/n, I'm really impressed" He smiled as he took his mask off, Heading to the bathroom and coming out, changed out of his suit and into his more casual attire.
"Thanks for inviting me and miles y/n" He smiled as he sat down on the couch, tossing a piece of candy corn into his mouth.
"It's no biggy, You guys deserve to have some fun. Don't worry, I rented your movies as well"
"Yes !!!" He cheered. "I'm surprised Miles hasn't seen the exorcist yet, It's such a classic movie. Made me nearly pee myself when I first watched it in high school" He chuckled.
"Yeah, I know right ??. It still holds up to this very day"
Speaking of, He then knocked on your door and you let him in.
"Happy Halloween guys" He smiled as he placed his backpack on the floor and cracked open a soda can before sitting down.
"The best Halloween event ever is happening !!" You fist pumped the air out of excitement.
"I think they may explode Pete" Miles chuckled.
"It really looks like it huh ??" Peter smiled.
"So which movie should we watch first ??" You jumped onto the couch and turned on the tv, flicking through the rented movies.
"Let's give talk to me a go" Peter got cozy.
"Oh Pete you are gonna love this one" Miles was now happy boy.
The movie started with a wild start and a simple set-up, But whatever it did, It worked. Scaring the bejesus out of Peter.
"If I see either of you two with a hand like that I am swinging out the window" He held onto a pillow.
You and Miles chuckled as the movie continued on into it's twisted ending.
"Wow I didn't see that coming" You were shocked.
"Get's me goosebumps every damn time" Miles rubbed his arm and then took a bit of candy.
"Alright then, You think that movie was scary, Y/n put on the exorcist" Peter spoke determined.
"On it" You then flicked to the exorcist and pressed play.
"Oh come on it's an old movie how is it that scary ??" Miles smirked
"Oh you'll see"
Miles braced himself for whatever fake and old scares that awaited him, and oh boy did he get so scared seeing it. Peter was right it still held up to this very day.
"Oh god, not the head turn !!" Miles hid his face into your shoulder.
"Miles you saw worse" You chuckled.
"I know but something about that..." He then shuddered.
"Still the scariest movie I've ever seen" Peter's eyes were glued to the screen.
After that, the three decided to take a break and tell their favourite Halloween adventures.
"I remember when one time, I had to fight vulture at my high school Halloween party, It was hard to try and get him out of the gym and into a more contained space where no one could get hurt." Peter told his story.
"Wow that's nuts" You listened in.
"You never told me that story before" Miles spoke up.
"I mean it was a simple fight and this was early days before Vulture really upgraded his gear, so I guess it really wasn't interesting of a story, But it was the most memorable Halloween I've had. Or when Me and Uncle Ben went trick or treating. That was always awesome."
"Oh yeah definitely, when my family was still living in Brooklyn. Me and dad went out trick or treating one night, Uncle Aaron joined us and we went to the basketball court, It was lit up with all these little jack-O Lantern lights and it was just amazing. That was my favourite Halloween." Miles smiled.
"What about you y/n, what was your favourite Halloween ??" Peter then asked you.
"Hmmmm" You thought long and hard.
"Oh I got it."
Peter and Miles listened in.
"There was this one Halloween when my cousin decided to turn their house into a haunted maze, They went all out I mean props and costumes. He even had one of his buddies chase you around with a toy chainsaw, Man I gotta love that commitment" You smiled at the memory.
"Haunted maze's are so cool" Peter agreed.
"Or I guess... This one is my favourite Halloween. Just being with you guys." You smiled brighter.
Peter and Miles couldn't agree more and smiled as well.
This really was the best Halloween they've ever had in such a long time since being Spider-man, Just relaxing, enjoying each other's company. Eating candy and watching movies. It didn't get any better than this.

Their First Christmas With You:  Hellboy
Just wanna give a little FYI: I’ve kinda mixed all the characters from the movies together. Abe is obviously from the 2004 movies and the others mentioned are from the recent one. Obviously, Hellboy is just Hellboy.
Tumblr media
He would never forget to get you a gift. Never. Why would you ever doubt his love for you in such a way?
But later you did find a search history of gift ideas on his phone one day. And Abe had come to you once or twice asking what you wanted for Christmas. Which made you chuckle, because you damn well know, Abe has had presents for everyone since March.
You didn’t say anything about it. You just started dropping hints around Red so the poor man didn’t stress too much.
But other than gifts, Hellboy is all over Christmas. His room was full of blinking lights and little Christmas trinkets. The Bureau's tree was decorated by him. Anytime he saw an empty hallway, he demanded it be decorated with some sort of Christmas theme.
When he was able to go out on missions, a Santa hat was clipped to his hair between his horns. But he refused to wear the big red cloak or a white beard.
You had the best idea of putting bells and baubles on his guns. Like little charms you see on FPS games. And since then, everyone has to at least have some sort of trinket hanging from their pistols.
Coming up to the big day, it's a party. Red is in the best mood, always with a drink in hand and going around running amok while feasting on all kinds of Christmas food.
The Christmas lunches/dinners you used to have with your family? Imagine it spreads over a week leading up to the big day and then when you thought you’d eaten your last dish, Red demands more and every night you went to bed in a food coma.
As gifts are exchanged, gathered under the massive, stupidly expensive tree, you hand Big Red your gift to him. And he almost cries at it.
You know he’s a big gun nut. And also a massive comic book nerd with a flare for the dramatics. And you were pretty sure he was still tipsy when he tore open the wrapping to reveal an exact replica of DoomSlayer’s shotgun. A WORKING replica of the weapon to be exact.
He stared at it for so long you thought that made him have a heart attack. But he hugged it close to his chest and pressed the biggest kiss on your cheek.
“Christmas is canceled! Nothing can outdo (Y/N)’s gift.” Hellboy says, still hugging the gun like a puppy.
To you from Red, it's a scrapbook of photos from all of your missions with Red, Abe and the others. And with each photo was a little description in Hellboy’s handwriting. All of them were about the moments he loved or was proud of you from each photo.
One was a very gruesome photo of you, Hellboy and Daimio’s were-jaguar covered in filth after a nasty fight with a giant toad monster in the swamp. The photo captured you laughing, a deep gasp over your right eye, pushing away the jaguar beast as it tried to lick your cheek. Red was leaning against a tree behind the two of you looking winded but holding onto the tail of Daimio in a meager attempt to stop him from pushing you over.
The description read: “I love that even after being beaten, swallowed and thrown against a tree, you still find the kitty cute enough to let him cover you in tuna breath.”
All of you spent the rest of the morning flicking through the book and reminiscing about the times that were shown in each photo.
P.S. It was Sasha’s idea to make something more personal than something from an online store.

an: time to write to my husband, the loving kita shinsuke!! this is a lil bit based off of my own experiences anyway enjoy! this is for my winter event!
pairings: timeskip!kita x fem!reader
warnings: HUSBAND KITA, christmas mentions, food/eating mentions, TONS of pet names, v fluffy, suggestive ending
-
kita is one of the most dedicated people you've ever met. he puts absolutely everything he can into anything he is doing; working on the farm, helping a friend, even helping out with chores around the house.
that's why christmas this year is going to be exceptional.
when summer was making it's final goodbyes, kita had the realization that this year would be the first christmas the two of you would be celebrating as a married couple. ever since that day, he has been researching like crazy. articles about the pros and cons of a real tree, DIY garlands, what type of ornaments are best, and even polls on colored tree lights versus solid white. he can't help it. he wants everything to be perfect.
now, with the christmas season right around the rather blistery corner, his studying is finally about to pay off.
or, so he hopes.
"shin, what's all this?" you giggle as he leads you to the space in front of your fireplace, warm hands shielding your eyes from whatever is in store for you. sitting you down on to the rug slowly, he plops down next to you with a wide smile.
"keep 'em closed! just a second," he grunts as he plugs a string of lights into the outlet. he sits next to you in a hurry, before grabbing your hand.
"now! what do ya think angel?"
when your eyes open, you are met with the most perfect christmas tree you've ever seen, already wrapped with the warmest glow of hundreds of tiny lights.
"wow," you gasp. as you turn to him, you can't help the smile that pulls at your lips when you take in your husband, nearly rocking back and forth with excitement.
"what do ya think?" he almost shouts. "i'm sorry i didn't include ya in the search, but i wanted it to be a surprise," he nods towards the tree. "i stopped by a small farm on my way home from town, and they had the best trees! i read online about it," he grins proudly.
you look around in awe. "i can't believe it, shin! it's gorgeous. when did you have time to set this all up?"
his cheeks turn red, glowing a little under the christmas tree lights.
"well, before ya went to the store i added a few extra things to yer list," he scratches the back of his head. you gasp and smack his arm playfully.
"shin! how dare you," you joke. "i didn't even think twice!"
he laughs, pulling you into his chest and placing a warm kiss to your cheek.
"well, ya wanna get started? i've been waitin' for ya all evenin'!" he stands up, pulling you with him.
"sure! do we have ornaments?"
kita blinks. once, twice, three times.
"u-uh," he starts. he feels his heart race a little. how could i forget?
"darling, i'm so sorry. i was so excited 'bout the tree, and everything else i-"
"it's okay!" you grab his face in your hands, rubbing his cheeks with your thumbs. "i have some of my own in storage, and we can just get more another time!"
"storage," he repeats, looking at you with furrowed brows. after a second, his eyes light up once more. "just a second!"
after he runs out of the room, you head to the closet where the two of you keep most of your storage. pulling out the bin labeled seasonal decor, you carry it to the living room and place it in front of the tree. you pull out some garland, a couple knick-knacks, and a small box with a few childhood ornaments.
"okay, i figured it out," kita comes through the kitchen and over to your spot on the floor. "granny has a bunch at her house, said i used to put 'em on her tree when i was small," he breathes, glancing at the bin in front of you. "wait, where'd ya get those?"
"these are some of my own from when i was a kid. the other things are just small decorations i've picked up over the years," you look around at the few things on the rug in front of the fire. "it's not a lot, but it will do for now, i think." you smile up at him.
kita smiles, and his heart swells twice the size. the sight of you, glowing from the light of the fire and the twinkling lights around you making you look celestial.
"i think so too, sweetheart," his eyes flick to the clock on the wall, then back to you. "if ya don't mind, granny said we could use the ornaments. something about a 'late wedding gift'," that makes you snort. between the furniture, many meals, sweaters, and other random odds and ends, granny has given a few "late" gifts.
kita walks towards the door, grabbing his coat and keys. "i'll be right back, my pretty wife. then we can get the party started!" he blows you a kiss before heading out the door. when you hear his old truck start, you get to work.
flipping through recipe books, which also happen to be from granny, you decide on a gingerbread recipe that you can make before kita gets home. knowing his granny, he will be gone for a bit. and, your prediction is correct. just as you're placing the cookies on a cooling rack, the door swings open.
"honey, i'm home!" your sweet husband sing songs from the front door. he's completely hidden by the stack of boxes he's carrying in his arms. you rush over to help, but he places everything down before you get the chance.
he lets out a sigh and turns to you with a smirk.
"this box has the ornaments," he starts, pointing his finger at a large plastic bin. "this one has a few other things, i'm not sure what they are but she insisted we have 'em," he continues. the last box sits on the ground by itself, wrapped up with a large bow.
"a present?" you ask, and kita laughs.
"oh that," he laughs again. "granny said that's for us to open when we're all done."
"then let's get started!"
the two of you are all smiles as you grab different ornaments and hang them on the tree. you have to stop kita a few times when he tries to place a rather large ornament near the top, but he can't help it. he's too distracted.
this is everything he's ever wanted. decorating for christmas in front of the fire with the love of his life. watching you coo over each ornament that granny has gifted. spinning you around while you laugh, feeling as if you two are the only ones in the world.
after a while, everything is picture-perfect. the tree is fully decorated, with ornaments glistening and sparkling in the light. the tree is a perfect mix of the two of you, ornaments filled with history from both of you mix together to combine something extremely unique.
above the fireplace is a simple garland, and on top of the mantel are a couple photos from your wedding, mixed with a few knick-knacks. the couch is now adorned with a christmas quilt that granny has gifted the two of you, and the table is decorated with a beautiful table runner. granny's old advent calendar is placed on a shelf, surrounded by twinkling fairy lights.
your home looks magical. everything is so cozy, so perfect. the light is so warm and inviting, and the smell of gingerbread floating in from the kitchen makes it even more wonderful.
"i think we could be professionals, what do ya think baby?"
kita grabs a cookie off of the rack, leaning over the island as you pour tea for the two of you.
"not with your tree decorating skills. everyone knows that heavy ornaments go on the bottom!" you tease with a smirk.
he shakes his head. "maybe i like it like that!"
you laugh as the two of you walk back towards the living room, setting down your cups of tea on the coffee table. kita sits next to you, snuggling you close before draping the quilt over the two of you.
"i love ya so much, pretty girl. thanks for doin' this with me," he smiles before placing a soft, lingering kiss on your lips.
"thank you, shin. this was so much fun," you say with a yawn, nuzzling into kita even more. he hums, looking around.
"it does look amazing. now we just need a wreath for the door, and for it to snow,"
you hum back, closing your eyes and relaxing a little into his warmth. kita shuffles next to you, before placing something in your lap.
"did'ya forget? granny got us a little somethin', remember? go ahead, open it!"
you can't hide the smile on your face as you pull off the bow and slowly unwrap the present. you open the box to reveal a note that sits atop two pieces of fabric. you hold the note in your hand and read it out loud.
"it's a note from granny," you start, scanning over the note. "she says, 'i made these for you two last week. i figured it would tie everything together. i love you both so much, merry early christmas!'" kita smiles big, eyes crinkled and full of love.
"so, what did we get?"
you pull out two red stockings. one is embroidered with your initial, and the other has a big 's' on the front. at the bottom of the box are two nails.
"oh my god, shin! they're so perfect," you whisper, running your finger along the stitches. "will you-"
before you can finish, kita comes to your side with a hammer. he takes the nails, putting one at each end of the mantel, and you hang each of your stockings in their respective spots.
"now, we're complete. those do look very nice," kita nods with his hands on his hips. "we need to have granny over to see 'em!"
you hum, and kita wraps his arms around you from behind. "yes we do. i'm sure she would love to see everything all decorated."
kita nods and gives you a kiss on your head. he follows with one on your ear, one below your ear, and one where your neck and shoulder meet. you sigh, feeling him smiling into your skin.
"what are you thinking about?"
"there's so much room in between our stockings," he mumbles, and you furrow your brows.
"yeah?"
he nods again. "that just means more room for our kiddo's stockings someday,"
your heart skips a beat at that, fluttering at the thought of kita walking around the tree with a baby in his arms.
"that's a sweet thought," you sigh, leaning back into your husband. he smirks and pulls you closer.
"how 'bout we get started on closin' the gap?"
you gasp. "shin!"
he doesn't respond, only throwing you over his shoulder and towards your shared bedroom.

The Art of Christmas
Modern!Tommy Shelby x reader
Tumblr media
Warnings: none
(Y/N) asks Tommy to go on a walk with her so that she can collect fir branches and get their house ready for the holidays.
———
(Y/N) had a wide smile on her face as she laced up her boots. Christmas was a few weeks away, and she was ready to begin decorating the house she shared with her fiancé.
“Come on, Tommy!” she called once she was standing upright again.
“I’ll be down in a moment!” he answered her from wherever he was upstairs. (Y/N) decided to retrieve her phone from her jacket’s pocket and pass the time on Pinterest, where she’d created a board for all of the little diy projects that she was hoping to try. She was excited to add some handmade flair to the decorations she’d be putting around the house this year. “Remind me again why we’re going out into the woods for this? The store’s just ten minutes away,” Tommy came walking down the stairs, talking while he worked on zipping up his jacket.
“Because I read online that using fresh ones will make the decoration last longer,” (Y/N) answered him, watching as he went about putting his boots on, “and because I want to,” she added, a smile on her face.
“Oh because you want to?” he repeated her statement as he stood up, a smirk tugging the right corner of his lips upward.
“Yes,” she nodded definitively, her smile turning into a confident one as she grabbed hold of the door knob, “now let’s go,” she stated, opening the door and exiting the house before Tommy could get another word in. He only chuckled at her determination before he followed her out the door and made sure to close it behind him.
“What are we looking for?” Tommy questioned after they’d been walking for a good bit of time.
“Fir branches,” (Y/N) answered him, swinging their conjoined hands as she kept her eyes peeled for the materials she’d need.
“Specifically fir?”
“Yeah. I think that they’ll work the best for what I’ve got planned.”
“And what exactly do you have planned?” Tommy raised an eyebrow.
“Wouldn’t you like to know,” (Y/N) said with a grin as she pulled her phone out again, “let me open Pinterest and I’ll show you all of the things I’ve got saved,” she said while tapping away at the screen.
“On second thought…how about I help with the finding and then leave the creating up to you?” he suggested once he realized he was going to be sucked into one of her drawn out presentations. It wasn’t that he didn’t enjoy them…he just didn’t want to be getting one whilst out in the middle of the woods.
“If that’s what you want,” she conceded with a frown, tucking her phone away again.
“Consider it me wanting to be surprised,” he tried to turn their conversation into a positive.
“You’re lucky there’s a fir tree over here,” she huffed in response, letting go of his hand before she picked up her pace to get to the tree.
Tommy didn’t even bother asking her how she knew that it was a fir tree. Instead, he made his way over to where she was already beginning to cut off the smaller branches with a pair of garden scissors. She’s prepared for this, he thought to himself, a proud grin on his face as he watched her do her thing. “I could hold them, love,” he said to her once he noticed that she was started to struggle with holding the branches and cutting more off simultaneously.
“I was hoping you’d offer,” she said, turning to grin at him before she handed all of the cut branches over to him. He chuckled at her statement and took the branches, watching as she a few cut more off before leaving that tree for another. Before he could ask her why, (Y/N) was explaining that she didn’t want to overcut the one tree and make it look bare at the bottom.
They continued on to a few more trees before Tommy’s arms were full, and he was cursing the fact that he didn’t think to bring any twine along with him so that he’d be able to bundle the branches better. (Y/N) cut off a few more branches after that, deciding that she’d carry them in her arms before she told Tommy that they were going to be going back to the house.
Once inside, (Y/N) instructed Tommy to drop the branches on the makeshift craft station, aka the kitchen island, and allowed him to go off and do whatever he wanted. He happily listened to her suggestion, telling her that he’d be in the living room getting some work done while watching football on TV.
(Y/N) watched him leave before she got down to work, unlocking her phone so that she could follow along with the tutorials for the decorations she’d be making.
Some time later, (Y/N) couldn’t determine how much because she’d lost track while in the zone with her crafts, Tommy re-entered the kitchen. “How’s it coming?” he asked as he made his way to the fridge.
“I think I’m finished,” she answered him, putting the final ribbon around the mason jar that held some of the fir branches.
Tommy nodded as he came over to her station with a bottle of water in hand. “Care to give me a tour of your creations?” he asked as he sat the bottle down on the island so that he could rest his hands on her shoulders.
“Happily,” she chirped, looking over her doings then as she tried to decide what to show him first. “So these are going to be centerpieces for the dining table,” she started off, motioning to the fir branches that were standing in different sized, painted bottles.
“This is what you needed the empty bottles from the Garrison for?” Tommy asked, his eyebrows raised in realization.
“Mmmhmm,” (Y/N) hummed with a nod, “and I plan to lay down some lights and garland around them when I set them up on the table,” she gave more insight into her vision then. “And these are going to go on the various surfaces around the house…like the fireplace, the coffee table, in here, in the bathrooms,” she continued explaining, rattling off some of the mason jar crafts’ final resting places, “I’m excited for it to smell like Christmas trees all throughout the house,” she added with a grin as she turned to look at Tommy, who was nodding along with what she was saying.
“And this one?” he asked for her to continue, motioning to the branches that were twisted together in a circle.
“That’s the wreath that I’m going to put on the front door,” she answered him, holding it up then to give him a better view of it. “Do you like it?” she eagerly asked him.
“I do,” he nodded a smile playing on his lips. “You’ve really encapsulated the art of Christmas with these, love,” he told her then. (Y/N) couldn’t stop the laugh from leaving her lips. Tommy’s brows furrowed at her initial response. “What?” he asked her.
“You’re very clever with your words, Tommy,” she stated, her giggles continuing. He still had the most confused look on his face, so she took the liberty to explain her reaction better: “the art of Christmas…do you get it? Because I was in here doing different arts and crafts projects for the past few hours.”
He couldn’t help but laugh at her explanation. “Ahh, I see now,” he nodded his head, a grin gracing his features.
“Will you help me hang this outside?” she asked then, lifting the wreath she was still holding up again.
“Sure,” he nodded, watching her smile before she turned and began walking to the front door with the wreath in her hands.
“Here, hold this one,” she was already giving him directions the second he stepped out out the house, and he wordlessly took the fall wreath into his hands as he watched her get the fir branch one situated on the hook. “How does it look?” she asked him then, taking two steps backwards to look at the entryway as a whole.
“Looks good, love,” he told her, stepping to her side so that he could drape his arm over her shoulders and bring her into his side.
“You think?” she checked with him, hugging onto his midriff as she tucked her head under his chin.
“Yes,” he answered in an assured tone, pressing a kiss to the top of her head once he was finished speaking.
The two stood on the stoop for a few moments then, admiring the wreath as well as the other, smaller decorations that (Y/N) had already set out. She hugged onto Tommy tightly and enjoyed the warmth his body was giving off for a bit longer before she loosened her hold and stood straight again. “Come on…I need you to help me with the other pieces I made,” she said, a smile on her face as she nodded her head towards the door.
Tommy didn’t respond verbally. He only chuckled at her statement before he went to join her on what he knew would be a decorating spree. What a way to get ready for Christmas.

A/N: this was made for @there-goes-thefighter ‘s 200 followers celebration. The prompt I chose was ‘collecting fir branches’ and I now realize that I’ve written more about what was done with the branches rather than the collecting of them. I hope you enjoyed reading! Congrats on this amazing milestone! 💕

GAH!
After 5 months of building, my Killer cosplay is finally DONE!
Tumblr media
I give you - me!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I Commissioned the hoodie from someone I’ve bought from before - a great seller on Etsy named Simakaihoodies.
I asked about potentially making a Killer hoodie some months after I purchased her Red (UnderFell Sans) hoodie and ended up wearing it nearly everyday for 4 months straight (seen below).
Tumblr media
I wanted to make it as close to canon Killer (owned by Rahafwabas) as a could, and she already had a great “faded blue” color cloth around from a previous Dust commission, so we went from there.
After that we went to what I’d like to see for a fur trim in a tan/cream-ish color, and upon not finding floof with the fibers as long as I’d like right away, nor the right shades, the hunt was on.
Tumblr media
Some weeks later she stumbled upon the perfect option and was quick to sew it up and send it out.
It was STUPID HARD to find white basketball draw-string shorts with a thick black line down the sides WITH NOTHING ELSE ON IT.
I wanted NO other colors, NO designs, NO trim, NO mesh-y type holes, NO piping, NO huge logo, NO fancy stitching.
Plain.
White with black.
Shorts.
After a couple months I found em.
I ordered a pair of leather fingerless gloves, they didn’t fit, wrinkled awkwardly, so I tossed ‘em.
I went to the children’s section of the dollar store, bought a pack of knit gloves, and cut the tips off - perfect length!
Tumblr media
Finding the right-shade-of-blue high-top canvas Converse in my size was NEAR IMPOSSIBLE too.
Either it was too expensive in pristine condition (which I DIDNT want), or leather (which I don’t think he’d wear), or the wrong size (my size is popular apparently so everything instantly sold), or was a flat-out wrong shade of blue.
C’mon, Killer wouldn’t care if his shoes are clean or not… his shoes would be beat-the-fuck-out, so I needed WORN ones.
I didn’t want to deal with stiff canvas.
I was probably gonna leave the laces untied to drag on the ground, so I didn’t care if they were clean or not.
I didn’t care about stains or scuffs.
BUT! They HAD to nearly match the faded blue of the hoodie - the canon Rahafwabas art shows they’re a similar color. One CANT be too much darker or lighter than the other.
After a couple months of searching, I found someone who LOVED their Converse enough to actually USE them before selling, AND they were the right shade.
I got ‘em for $16!
Tumblr media
So Killers socks are slouchy, right?
All the Sanses socks are.
So I had to stretch mine out.
Apple juice bottle came in handy for that.
Incase you were wondering why that photo was in the collage up there, lol.
The SOUL!
The SOUL.
Tumblr media
Killers target-shaped SOUL is a fuckin tap-light with 8 layers of cellophane glued on it.
THAT BITCH stressed me the fuck out building.
I TRIED to commission someone to make one.
Messaged a TON of people on Etsy about it, but no one could or would (some people said they were too busy cuz it was the Christmas season).
So I decided I had to make it myself.
Only I had to find the right-shade-of-red cellophane.
And I couldn’t just buy a single large sheet like I wanted. Stores (even online) only sell a massive pack.
So I just hung-out til it was the first week of February and stole some squares out of a Valentines Day decoration.
Hey - it worked, right?
It’s EIGHT. FUCKING. LAYERS.
To get this shade of red.
Exacto Knives, acetone, 3 special kinds of glue, and HOURS of tracing circular objects in my home, and it’s as good as I could get it for a first attempt.
I lucked-out when it came to the brightness of the damn tap-light. I NEEDED the light to be visible enough to tell it was on even in daylight (cuz, DUH, Killers SOUL always glows; not just in the dark!).
Mystique @lady-of-disdain helped A LOT on deciding some things when I couldn’t figure out a best option on my own. Her Killer knowledge and tastes match my own, so when stumped I chatted her up - this would have taken longer without her input.
So THANKS MYS *waves*
So it’s done, right?!
WRONG.
I need it to fuckin’ snow so I can take some damn pics.
BUT IT SNOWED YESTERDAY!!! Well. For a little bit.
So here I/he am/is!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It’s gonna snow again tomorrow, so I’m hooking up my camera remote to take better pictures - my tiny tripod with the camera timer was a fail, lol. That leaning pic came out way worse than anticipated, and that wrinkle-lump at the neck of the hood is really unbecoming in the chair photo. I’ll get some better ones this time and make a new post.
GO check out Simakaishoodies! Buy some Undertale! Buy some Delta Rune! Give her all the support and all your money!
And check out her Tumblr @simakai !!!
My next piece I commission will either be Mutt’s floor-length hoodie/duster from Fellswap (which is gonna be heavy as FUCK with all that fabric), or a Horror Sans hoodie (but I gotta find an effects-blood that won’t wash out, and study blood-spatter patterns and test ‘em out before I go and mark up any commissioned piece. Maybe I’ll use a real axe for the pattern to look legit, who knows).
In the meantime I’ll be work on completing Red’s outfit.
I still need a LOT for that guy, and finding the right-shade-of-yellow socks that will match the black shorts with yellow stripe, that’ll ALSO match the yellow in the hoodie is gonna be a headache.
Wish me luck!

Tumblr media
The process of decorating for Christmas has been quite labor-intensive, and I'm not even done yet! One of my exciting finds is a vintage carved arch from Mogul Interior, painted on both sides in vibrant colors that exude a bohemian Christmas vibe. I've strategically placed it to accent the doorway leading into my kitchen.

As I continue to decorate, I find myself learning what works best and making some adjustments along the way. Plans are in place to add lights and fresh greenery outside, especially around an Indo French antique door that I stumbled upon. It now graces my courtyard veranda, adding a touch of timeless elegance. Be sure to check back for updates on this ongoing project!
Tumblr media
This year's Christmas aesthetic leans towards cozy natural neutrals and earthy woods. The vintage credenza, with its dark wood tones, stands out as a stunning centerpiece. Our home, featuring wood floors with painted inlays and warm travertine tile, sets the perfect backdrop, and the earthy wood tones beautifully complement the inherent character of our house.

DSMP Christmas Story
Author’s Note: Merry Christmas @astronuke! Summary: In which Tommy adjusts to the existence of Christmas magic and also ghosts.
Tommy hadn’t thought much of working after hours on Christmas Eve.
As some bitch named ‘Annie’ will tell you it’s a hard-knock life for an orphan, and the best thing to do when you find yourself family-less for the holidays was to keep your head down and stay busy. He may as well spread some ‘cheer’ now via sugar and cinnamon, then take a nice long two week break after new years when the constant ads of happy families gathered ‘round a ten foot tree melted into the long gray slog to spring. The plan, as far as he was concerned, was perfectly logical and not a grinchly affront to all things red and green.
Apparently, Christmas disagreed. Because on that night, one snowy evening at 11:51, Tommy felt a flurry of snowflakes breeze over his back. He turned to the back door of the bakery and found it just as locked as he’d left it four hours before.
“What the fuck?”
“Language.”
Tommy whirled forward and spotted a man at the cash register. Like, a glowing green one. He blinked, and tilted his head to try and puzzle out whatever trick that was.
“What the fuck? Who the fuck are you?!”
Tommy couldn’t see any lights on the guy. Just a creepy smiley-face mask and a whole lot of softly tinkling bells sewn into his ridiculous getup. How had he not heard those before?
“I’m the Ghost of Christmas Present, see the holly?” The man pointed to the small bush of spiked leaves and red berries on his head as if the plants proved he was something other than crazy.
“You’re breaking and entering is what you are, and you’d better keep your green-ass ugly mitts off my cookies!” Tommy’s voice rose to a yell as the stranger had the gal to pick up a Christmas tree from the display and begin eating it.
“Once again, watch the language kid. I could sign you up for one roller coaster of a night for lack of Christmas spirit if I wanted to.”
“Are you threatening me?!” Tommy continued to yell, who was this stranger to break into his bakery, steal the sweets and then admonish him for cussing him out? “I’ve got plenty of Christmas spirit! For your information I’m working my ass off so my boss can spend Christmas Eve with her family, you judgmental bastard.”
“I’ve seen your house.” The man in green prodded, “You don’t have a single decoration anywhere.”
“You’ve been to my house?!” Tommy brandished his frosting gun. “What the hell is wrong with you?”
The man raised an eyebrow. “I can see everyone’s houses. That’s my skillset. But I didn’t come in to rake you over the coals. You’re right about Niki, that was a really nice thing to do.”
“I don’t give a fuck what you think. Stay away from Niki and get out of my bakery!” Tommy jabbed his weapon threateningly, but the man looked thoroughly unimpressed.
“Congratulations Tommy. I think you’ve earned a Christmas Miracle.”
“How do you know my name?! Damn creepy smiley-faced bastard-” Tommy began to curse as the stranger reached out toward the candy men he’d been touching up. The register was several feet away from his work station but Tommy still shrieked as if they were in reach. “I said keep your hands off my cookies!”
A blinding flash of light and the sound of tinkling sleigh bells filled the whole store. Tommy fell backwards with a cry and crashed into the sprinkles cabinet, spilling all sorts of glittering sugar over the floor.
The bloody maniac had a flash bomb! He wailed in his head, I’m blind! I’m blind! I’m- Tommy blinked his eyes open and found the man was gone.
“Yeah, you better run!” He called, standing up and glancing around nervously. Was the creep really gone? He had no idea how the man had come in, nor how he’d left. A stalker was definitely not the Christmas gift he’d ordered for himself online. Tommy was about ready to label the whole affair as fodder for what was going to be the worst night of his life when he caught sight of movement on the counter he’d been working on.
The motions were small and the colors made it hard to make out what Tommy was looking at, at first. He didn’t particularly want to get closer when the weird green guy could still be lurking around, so he stayed put. On the table, he made out three distinct shapes. One of the shapes tripled in size as a pair of glittering white wings unfurled, and Tommy abruptly remembered the angel he’d been working on, which meant the other reds and blues… He forgot about the creep. The wing looked to be marshmallow but Tommy couldn’t make feathers like that. Each primary was as delicate as lace. The red coat on his toy soldier rippled like actual fabric and not the sugary wax he’d molded hours before. And Niki’s sugar spun soldier was holding his own semi-transparent, impossibly delicate blue fingers up to the ceiling light.
The tiny men acclimated to life far faster than Tommy did to their existence. When the angel waved at him and said hello he didn’t do a damn thing to pick his jaw up off of the floor. While he was preoccupied the angel gave up and flapped his wings experimentally, while the red soldier and blue soldier looked over edge of the table and discussed the drop. The blue soldier began shimmying down a table leg. After a moment the red soldier shook his head and jumped onto Tommy’s chair and then the ground in much faster fashion. All three were quite obviously coming for him.
With a squeak Tommy stepped backwards and hit the back door of the bakery, still staring at the candy brought to life. He did, however, finally find his voice.
“Who-- How-- What?” What. Yes, that was the word he was looking for. “What the hell? What the hell.”
The red soldier waved from the ground. “Yo, kid. Did we break your brain?”
“Yes.” Tommy replied fervently. “Are you alive?”
“Yep.”
“There’s no need to be alarmed,” the blue soldier pitched in as he reached the ground. “We have a perfectly reasonable explanation.”
“Oh. Really.”
“The green fellow, Dream,” the soldier waved his blue hand at the register, “Performed a Christmas miracle and brought us to life. It’s lovely to meet you, Tommy.”
“Oh. Is that all??” Tommy asked in a rather high voice, grappling with the idea. “So he can just. Bring shit to life. Just like that?” As he spoke the two soldiers reached his foot and Tommy eyed them suspiciously. “Did that creep create you to attack me? How do you know my name?”
The angel had finished adjusting to his wings and swooped into the air.
“Christmas magic.” He said simply, “And we don’t mean any harm. Dream is a spirit of Christmas, he can do just about anything.” The angel hovered and shrugged. “We wanted to help, and he did us a favor. Could you hold out your hands?”
Tommy complied, and the angel landed there. Tommy had to cup his hands as the angel steadied himself with tiny hands. “I’m Philza, and this is Technoblade and Wilbur.” Tommy stared down at him. Philza had been his first attempt at an angel yesterday, and the resulting white chocolate statue hadn’t been half bad. He’d carefully carved a flowing white robe and adorned the final product with pearl sprinkles and golden hair. The wings had been marshmallows carefully teased from a mold and attached with melted chocolate. Niki did the face, and they’d set the final product atop the Christmas tree in the right-side display.
To say Philza was that angel would be like comparing a rudolf plushie to a living, breathing, flying reindeer with a glowing red nose. Philza had hundreds of feathers, a mop of literally golden hair and a real, pearl-adorned white robe. And yet, somehow, it was all still candy.
After a moment Tommy registered he ought to say something. “I’m Tommy. TommyInnit.” Talking helped. He picked up steam, “Though you all already knew that, apparently.”
He knelt down carefully, to get a better look at Wilbur and Technoblade. “Are you all still made out of sugar? It’s just. Magic brought you to life?”
“Yep.” Technoblade offered, “Though even we can’t give you anything better than ‘Magic’ as to the how. Seems OP to me, but it benefits me so I’m not going to complain.”
“Certainly not.” Wilbur reached over and hooked his arm around Technoblade’s shoulder, “But now that we’ve established we are, in fact, alive I think it’s time to get to more important matters.” He looked up at Tommy in complete solemnity. “Tommy I have a question for you. The most important question I can ask.”
In his hand, Philza made a long suffering sigh. “Wilbur we just met the kid, and he’s clearly still taking all this in.”
“No!” Tommy cut in, “No, it’s okay. What do you have to ask me Wilbur?”
“Do you…” The blue soldier paused in utterly serious, dramatic fashion, “Have access to coffee?”
“Um. Yes. Yes I do?”
Wilbur nodded gravely, hope shining in his eyes. “And is that coffee… peppermint flavored?”
Tommy blanched. “No. But!” He immediately scrambled, “I can get you some! Walmart is, like, ALWAYS open-”
Wilbur cut him off with a cry. “YES! Oh dear god unflavored coffee.” The blue soldier spoke ‘unflavored’ like a prayer and threw himself forward to put a tiny hand on Tommy’s cupped fingers. “Take me to it, king, and I will be yours forever. I will tear down mountains and burn nations in your name.”
“Ok?”
Wilbur clambered onto his hand next to Phil and Technoblade followed suit, heaving himself up in a single graceful motion. Technoblade looked up. “So. Where to?”
---
Tommy carried them back to his apartment. The train ride home was nearly abandoned, though one guy pulled out his phone and began filming while Tommy walked to an empty car. The gingerbread men, as Tommy began to think of them, migrated to his shoulder when he needed to pull out his metro card and back to his hands once the train got moving. They spent the whole time talking.
Wilbur was the happiest throughout the walk to the station and did most of the talking. All three of them were apparently ghosts who’d died on Christmas, gaining them the tile of ‘Christmas ghosts’. Whatever that meant. When Tommy asked if that meant they were like Dream he got an overly complex answer that Technoblade succinctly boiled down to a ‘No’.
The after life was holiday themed and all three didn’t mind the crisp December wind and snow. Wilbur was the only one who had clear memories of life because Philza and Technoblade were old, thus the fixation on coffee.
Once they reached the platform, however, Wilbur visibly deflated. Technoblade, or just ‘Techno’  took up the conversation from there. He mostly asked Tommy about himself, and explained they’d only ever seen him at the bakery on Christmas eve.
“So you were watching me?” Tommy wasn’t entirely sure how to feel about that.
“Not in a weird way,” Techno elaborated, “We only get one night to hang around and the shopping district always has cool displays. Seeing somebody making cookies is prime entertainment.”
“Well I am very entertaining.” Tommy said, puffing up. “But I can do way better stuff than making a bunch of Christmas cookies for Niki.”
“Oh yeah?” Techno hummed, “Like what?”
“Everything!”
Tommy went off on a tangent, describing movies, theme parks, soccer, and just about anything he deemed more exciting than baking.
“Don’t get me wrong, I love the bakery. But watching someone else make cookies for hours? Not what I’d watch on youtube.”
By then they had just about reached his apartment, back in the biting outdoor air. Tommy barely noticed, and was further distracted when Wilbur asked, “What’s youtube?”
---
It was the best Christmas Eve Tommy could ever remember. He’d had the pleasure of introducing three new friends to his favorite channels and videos, who had all appropriately lost their shit at just the concept of a computer. Apparently, the Christmas afterlife lacked most technology.
They’d talked and joked long into the night, until at some point Tommy had dozed off mid netflix exploration turned Avatar marathon.
When he woke up, he found a continue watching screen and three horribly familiar gingerbread men. Tommy jolted upright, staring down at the candy men he’d previously made still and unmoving on the table.
“No way.” Tommy rubbed his eyes and blinked down at them, an awful pit forming in his stomach. There was no way he’d just imagined it all, was there?
Possessed, he snatched up the red soldier and carefully turned it over, running a finger over the wax cloak with a frosted hem. Wilbur’s coat was sugar. Phil’s wings were marshmallows. All of it made by human hands.
“C-c’mon guys. Don’t fuck with me.” Tommy tried, after he carefully set each down. He was met with heavy silence. The pit deepened into a hole, and his heart fell into it.
Last night was real. It had to be. Tommy grabbed his laptop and began to search for videos. That guy on the train. He had to have posted whatever he filmed, right? It was useless. Tommy was met with an endless stream of candy videos and children’s advertising. Candy men, gingerbread men, videos made in the past 24 hrs got him nowhere. After an hour Tommy was just about ready to throw the bloody thing across the room when his phone began to ring, and let him know that if last night was the best night of his life today was going to be the worst.
He was in deep shit with Niki about their missing decorations. Tommy had straight up lied and said he dropped them, and spent the rest of the day making a new angel. The soldiers went unreplaced and left the nutcracker and rat king armies in the left-side display looking a bit sparse. Niki helped but he felt awful for cutting into her holiday. Unlike him, Niki had a family waiting for her at home.
The new angel looked comparable to the first but nothing like Phil. The marshmallow wings were too thick and this doppelganger’s hair looked closer to straw than pale gold. He’d based the other rat king’s gingerbread soldiers on other animals and not even Niki’s blue spun sugar could match Wilbur from last night. The whole ridiculously extravagant display looked paltry now, a month of work ringing hollow. Niki seemed to pick up on his mood and tried to cheer him up, offering to invite him to her family dinner but Tommy turned her down. He went home determined never to look at the stupid displays again.
When he walked into his cold empty apartment and saw the shapes unmoving on the table he walked right back out again, but sunset quickly turned the winter air frosty and Tommy was too broke to go to a bar or something. He had to go back in and avoid looking at them while boiling up a pack of ramen. He took the soup back to his bedroom and managed two bites before dumping the rest, which proved to be a mistake when he got hungry later in the night.
At 11:18 the end of Schlatt’s reactions playlist beamed up at him from his laptop. Tommy hadn’t moved from his nest of blankets since getting rid of the soup. Everything was awful, and he could tell he wasn’t going to sleep any time soon. He got up and took a shower, scrubbing at irritated puffy eyes which only resulted in them getting more red and puffy. Things were an iota better now that he was clean and spent. Techno, Philza and Wilbur were still on the table.
Tommy sat down and stared, pathetically willing them to come back to life, the smell of peppermint, cinnamon, and white chocolate surrounding him. Last evening had been looping over and over in his mind, and Tommy was convinced he’d never come up with something so crazy. It had to have happened.
He picked up Wilbur, Niki’s handiwork closer to what had been alive than his clumsier efforts. He walked back to his bed and turned the blue soldier around and around in his hand. But it wasn’t Christmas Eve any more. Santa Claus had come and gone, Rudolph was done flying and he’d watched the grumpy lawyer across the street burst out of his office and joyfully greet his poor legal assistant with a hug and dance. The magic was gone. But maybe the cookies still had some power to make him feel better, and in another day they’ll be stale.
He brings the candy up to his mouth and tastes peppermint strong enough to scrunch up his nose.
Tiny fingers suddenly dig into his palm as Wilbur’s voice screams in his head. “WHAT THE FUCK?!”
Tommy screams and drops Wilbur. The living candy lands on the blankets and sits up, clawing saliva from his impossibly fine hair.
“Was- was I in your mouth?! Tommy?!”
“I- You- You were a dream! I mean, what?”
“Don’t eat me!”
“Okay! Oh my god. How are you alive?”
“It’s midnight you idiot, and we’re Christmas magic. We come alive at midnight. And turn back into cookies at dawn. DO NOT EAT ME WHILE I’M A COOKIE.”
“Oh. I.” Tommy feels like his heart is simultaneously trying to lift into the air and hide under a rock. “Why didn’t you tell me that last night?”
“I DIDN’T THINK CANNIBALIZING US WOULD BE ON THE TABLE.” “YOU’RE A GOD-DAMNED GINGERBREAD MAN! How was I supposed to know you’d come back to life? I… I thought last night was a one time thing.”
Wilbur looked up at him for a long minute and Tommy did his best to shove down his stupid emotions. He didn’t want to cry in front of Wilbur. “I’m sorry.”
Wilbur sighed and rubbed his temples. “Alright. Okay. Just give me a minute.”
Tommy relaxed and then asked, “Did Philza and Techno come back too?”
---
When they walked back into the main area Techno and Philza were standing up and living.
“And what were you two nerds up to?” Techno asked in his typical monotone while Tommy fidgeted under the red hots stare. “Nothing.”
“He wanted to ask me a few questions.” Wilbur elaborated, much to his relief.
“Um, right. I guess we didn’t cover everything last night.” Phil stepped in, fluttering his feathers. “Did Wilbur answer all your questions?”
“Tonight you came back alive.” Tommy said awkwardly, “Are you… always going to do that?”
“Oh mate.” Philza fluttered over to him and Tommy abruptly had white chocolate and marshmallow hugging his face. “I’m sorry, we should’ve told you last night. We,” he gestured to Wilbur, Techno and himself, “are a Christmas miracle. We’ll come alive at midnight as long as you need us, to fulfill your wish.”
“What wish?” Tommy asked, and Philza’s smile softened. “With us around, you won’t be alone anymore.”
“Oh.” Tommy shuffled awkwardly closer to them and returned Wilbur. “What if I piss you off?”
“Then we’ll forgive you.” Phil said confidently.
“Maybe.” Wilbur added and Techno jabbed him in the ribs. “I forgive you. Really.” Wilbur amended, “But you’re on thin ice gremlin.”
“Thin ice for what?” Technoblade asked and Tommy flinched.
“Wilbur can fill us in later.” Philza interjected, landing back beside them and looking up at Tommy. “Do you have any other questions?”
“Um. I guess not. Besides how the power of-- What? Christmas cheer?-- can bring a cookie to life.”
Techno shrugged. “Ask the spirit of Christmas present. But good luck getting a straight answer.”
---
Next year finds Tommy working late at the bakery again, this time on a north pole theme, when ‘Dream’ appears again.
“So have you learned your lesson?”
Tommy looks up, glaring. He’d wondered if the creep would come again, but his newfound family hadn’t thought the chance was very high. Tommy just can’t get them to believe he’s the unluckiest person on earth.
“What lesson? Was there supposed to be a god damned lesson? You brought three cookies to life!” He huffed and crossed his arms and tried not to show his unease. There was just something unsettling about the spirit, something he doesn’t like. Beyond the fact Dream doesn’t breathe or blink. “My Christmas break turned into- like- a scramble to suddenly accommodate three tiny magical people in my shitty-ass apartment, you bitch!”
“Which was what you wanted.” Dream asserted, before stealing a candy cane off Santa’s sleigh and crunched off the crook.
“Yeah! Well…” Tommy scrounged for words, “You could have explained it better!”
“Nope.” Dream popped the P and took another bite.
“Whatever. What the hell do you want now?”
“I performed a Christmas miracle.” Dream said slowly, then stared at Tommy as he shoved the rest of the candy cane into his mouth and spent a full minute filling the air with the cracks and snaps of hardened sugar. Tommy stared back in suspicion until the spirit swallowed and added, “For you.”
“And?” Tommy asked. Dream glared.
“I didn’t have to. I had just handed a particularly idiot lawyer in a beanie to Sapnap when I looked across the street and saw this totally pathetic kid working late at a bakery on Christmas Eve-”
“Hey, I’m-” Tommy began but the spirit spoke over him.
“-Like the loneliest, most miserable teenager imaginable and thought to myself: ‘Wow. I really should-’”
“THANK YOU, OKAY?!” Tommy shouted louder, “Thank you for working your weird, mysterious Christmas powers. Is that what you wanted me to say?”
“Yes.” Dream said, and vanished into thin air. “Also tell Techno I said hi.”
“Maybe I will!” Tommy called after the swirling puff of powdered sugar Dream left behind.
He groaned, and began packing up his station. It was almost midnight, after all.

It was a really nice day off. I felt like we accomplished a lot and it was just a good day.
I didn't sleep great but it happened easier then the night before. I got woke up a lot though which was a little frustrating but it's fine. I felt alright when I woke up.
James had left me a note that they were on a bike ride and would be home soon. So I got up. And made the bed. And went to get dressed.
James got home as I was finishing up. And it was so nice to see their face. They were a little gross from getting splashed on the road. They would make me a little peanut butter and jelly sandwich before they went to sleep a shower.
I posted up on the couch and ate my little sandwich and worked on my knitting.
And I would finish sewing all my squares together!! I was so proud. I would continue to work on those later.
I cleaned up the mice tank. They continue to be crispy. I would try rinsing them a few times but then they are all wet and I think they are unhappy being wet. I'm trying my best. But when you Google how to clean a mouse you just get computer information. Ugh.
We would head out to run some errands. We were waiting to hear from the Fulwilers if they needed a ride to the rental car place. But while we were out they let us know that the place didn't have any today so maybe tomorrow. Ah well.
We would just do our errands then. First we went to the pet store and got a new kitty litter tray and kitty litter. We also got fish food and mouse pellets. I am trying to soak them in the kitten milk to slowly wean them over this week and hopefully get them more nutrients. It was fun walking around looking at the creatures with James. There were ferrets going wild wresting. I also liked the birds. It was just fun.
After we paid we walked over to party city to look at costumes and decorations. James got me a squishmallow keychain of a sea cow and a blind box of a sanrio character. We also got a couple pieces of candy. It was fun. I was having a good time.
We went to the grocery store next. I was frustrated by how expensive things were. But we got the few little things we needed. And headed to staples.
We were actually supposed to go there after the pet store but James forgot. So we were back tracking a bit. But that was alright. We had nowhere to be. It was our day.
Staples was strange. Like the location was weird. It was surrounded by trees in all sides and seemed hidden. James had ordered online for pick up and we went to the counter but no one was coming to help. Eventually I saw someone who worked there and James went and got them and we were able to leave with the printer ink we needed. But we were waiting for a while. I just laid my head on James's chest and honestly it was nice.
We would go to a diner for lunch next. It was the one in Towson I like. Just a standard diner. All chrome and run by Greeks. We both got sandwiches and listened to the Jewish family next to us. The grandfather was so old and seems so fun. He had lots of stories and we were both enjoying ease dropping a little.
We also talked about Christmas and travel. We were both a little tired I think. We joked about Taylor swift and the football boy. We talked about family. And babies. And I just felt good. Happy.
We also got to see the restaurant photographing their menu items. Like nice photography lights all set up. It was neat!
I asked James if we were near the goodwill. And they said yes and so after we paid we went over there.
The goodwill was really busy for some reason. And we didn't buy anything. But I had fun looking around. Pointing out silly stuff. I found another steamer trunk but James says I've hit my lifetime limit. Which seems wrong!! But it's fine.
We went home after that. We had much to do at home.
When we got back here we brought everything inside and I started putting things away. We got Sweetp a new toy so I got that set up for him. It's a sloth on a string and you fill it with catnip and hang it from a door frame so they can pull on it and it bounces up. I'm not positive it's long enough for our doors but that's fine. He still seems to like it.
We would work on cleaning. We walked through each room and decided what each space needed.
We changed out the kitty litter to the new box. Got the box that it lives in fixed up to. I cleaned the whole thing and tightened all the screws. And vacuumed and wiped surfaces. I felt like we were doing really good.
I got a little tired while James was cleaning the bathroom. So I washed my hands and got a drink and got on the couch.
Where I kept sewing. And it took a while but by 630 I was done!! I was not expecting that. I'm thrilled. I will still have to sew down the little ends but it's basically finished. It is smaller then the one I made my dad but it's about 55x55 and is so cozy. It's great. I can't wait to start my next project.
James would play DND with their friends for a while. Not to long. I got to show them my blanket when I finished and they hyped me up and that felt good.
While they were playing with them I tried to wash and blow dry the mice. Which mostly worked. The blow-dryer is to loud but I think it helped a little at least. On high it made them fall over though and that was an accident and I felt so bad. But they seem less crispy right now at least.
The heat came in in the apartment which was really surprising to me. I didn't realize it was cooler then 44 degrees outside (which is when the heat automatically comes on). Glad it's working. I'm just surprised!
I showered and washed my hair and painted my toes. It was a really nice day. I am ready to sleep now though. Tomorrow we have a huge group at camp. It's the same indigo group but with 98 kindergarteners. Wish us luck because that's going to be a lot!
I hope you all sleep well tonight. Take care of eachother. Until next time!!

Hagging Out - December 2022/Porter's Possee Yuletide Edition
A little late with this one, but I had a lot of stuff to share! This Yuletide was both quiet and busy. It was the first Yule/Christmas season my partner and I spent in the house we bought in January 2022, which meant that we were also coming up on our first anniversary of living in the house and living with each other. So you might say a bit of celebration was in order.
The morning of the winter solstice, I rose early to watch the sunrise, as I have done for many solstices past. At the moment of sunrise, my red flametending candle was lit to represent the reborn sun. It sat on Brighid’s altar for the rest of the day so that the Mother could care for her babe. We also decorated the Christmas tree the day of the solstice (mostly because we had been too busy to do it earlier, although I don’t hate it as a tradition going forward).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The following day it snowed! Not as much as expected, but still. It also kicked off the two-week saga of our heater not working (this has been resolved thank goodness). Thankfully we were pretty warm that day, but there were several days when we had no heat all. Fortunately our house is well-insulated, we were provisioned with many blankets and wool sweaters, and I had already stocked up on everything we needed to make the wassail from Porter's Seasonal Celebrations. It goes wonderfully with sugar cookies.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Christmas Day our heater was out, but fortunately I did spend a good chunk of the day in the kitchen preparing our evening feast. From Porter's Seasonal Celebrations, I made the chestnut log cake and the Christmas ham which was glazed with the honey I blessed back at Midsummer. Along with those dishes we had mashed potatoes, a green bean casserole, glazed carrots, and homemade rolls. Both Porter's recipes were an absolute hit! The frosting on the chestnut log is possibly the best chocolate frosting I've ever made, and I will be using it again for other cakes. The only part of the recipe I struggled with was the chestnut puree that's meant to be incorporated into the filling for the cake. None of the grocery stores I went to carry it (unsurprising) so I made my own using chestnuts from the local co-op and a recipe I found online. I'm not at all convinced that I did it right and though it tasted well enough, there is absolutely room for improvement. But other than that, the cake was outstanding! The ham was similarly delicious, and likely to become a repeat. That honey glaze absolutely hits. Plus, the leftovers lasted for days.
My father sent us a package of Christmas crackers which were joyously opened and provided us with paper crowns to wear for the rest of the evening. All in all, a very good Yuletide season!

I'm trying to think of a way to put this while still sounding like a rational adult. I know I'm not alone in this. I know there's a reason why suicides tend to rise during the holidays. Christmas is my favorite holiday. There's something magical about a month that can typically bring most people together. The consensus that we're all human, and we all deserve at least one day of the year that guarantees happiness.
However, that simply isn't a reality for a lot of us.
I'm not celebrating Christmas this year. It's not by choice. My family has never been completely well off. We do struggle financially. So this year was no surprise, but it's still a sad one nonetheless. We can only afford to buy each other one present. I'm not buying anything for myself. We will not have that great feast around the table. We most likely will not even put up a tree let alone decorate our home.
And it sucks. Christmas was the highlight of my childhood. Up until a decade ago, I still had that child-like giddiness of cannot waiting. Counting down the days with utmost glee. Now I dread it. I already suffer from seasonal depression, even during the summer. I hate that I can't count on one good day. This year was a colossal failure for me.
There will be no spirited morale or season of joy. I hate that I can't spoil my family. I hate that we can't go all out like we used to. My grandmother is now entering her nineties and I can't stand that the last one with her will probably be dismal. I can't help any of this. The only thing that makes me the tiniest bit happy is giving presents to others. I adore the gesture.
As I write all this, I'm acutely aware of the fact that the people of Ukraine will probably have a worse time than just about all of us. People won't have houses to decorate. They won't be able to share a big hearty meal. They probably don't even allow themselves to think about buying presents. And lastly, there will likely be fewer loved ones to sit with.
Winter is coming. Most don't have electricity let alone heating. Soldiers need appropriate clothing. The very least the country deserves is to have the means to look after themselves. If god truly existed, my only wish this christmas would be for the war to end. That Ukraine gets restored to its former glory. That there's more love in their hearts than sorrow.
That people can LIVE.
If donating to help those who desperately need it is something you'd consider. I highly implore you to do just that. You can reliably donate via this link to any preferred cause. If you need double the incentive, there's a great Ukrainian-based online store called Saint Javelin. Their merchandise and apparel are simply the best. All the proceeds go towards the recovery and war efforts of Ukraine. You won't regret it.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart for whatever you may choose to do. Not everyone will have a happy christmas, myself included. But if we can take care of each other and try to make someone else's life a little brighter.
I believe that's what christmas is truly about.
