Betty White was a 20 year-old budding model and actress whose career was just taking off when she put it all on hold to join the American Women's Voluntary Services as a truck driver, where she transported supplies to various Army barracks across California. Often working 16 hour days, she drove trucks for the duration of the war before resuming her acting career. "It's the least I could do to support those precious boys overseas" she said of her time as an Army truck driver during WWII.

1. I'M THAT GIRL Theory
This is just a theory. Remember, you can ask me anything😊. Also, more of this theory will most likely be reposted. It's going to be a long read. Enjoy!!! 😊🖤
⚪ The Lyric Video
Watching the lyric video for "I'M THAT GIRL", at the very start, it flashes white and the color fades to black. It seems as though she's coming out of the portal (the same portal from the RENAISSANCE Tour. A transition if you will.). And the color contrast could represent her conscious and unconscious state.
⚫ Picture Theory
I believe she looks like this when she gets out of the portal, kind of showing that she's in a different setting and a new presenting main character. I believe that she's going to look different in all different acts (or evolving).

⚪ The "I'M THAT GIRL" Teaser Symbolisms
•In the beginning of the teaser, we see the camera slowly creeping up on her while she is looking at the refrigerator. The camera technique is called a dolly shot, putting emphasis on her vulnerability and feeling watched while isolated (this took place during lockdown). And you have the lyrics saying "Please Mfs ain't stoppin me". The mfs are probably watching her every move and trying to stop her from doing something. But what and why?
Also, she's wearing a silver bodysuit with a beehive hairstyle (it was considered a rebellious hairstyle) giving us a message that she has protection, but not privacy (hence the clear window of the refrigerator).
• Then, she is on the phone mouthing "Please Mfs ain't stopping me" while wearing red rubber gloves and if you look closely in the fridge there are two different size bottles of water or alcohol facing the front.
Red gloves= The color red can represent danger, action, or power. For her to wear red rubber gloves she is caught red handed also trying to keep her hands clean. But what did she do?
The difference in size bottles= They can symbolize her showcasing her reckless and rebellious side without caring what others would do or say and/or a refusal to succumb to those Mfs and not being controlled. This is probably what she's also telling the mystery person/people on the phone. She doesn't care what they (Mfs) do or the outcome, she's going to do what she wants anyway.

In the next scene, She is not wearing the gloves, but she's hiding one hand and not the other. Then, you have parrot wallpaper behind her. She mouths "Please Mfs ain't stopping me" again. She's probably showing 2 different personalities/perspectives.
The Parrot Wallpaper= Parrots are known to repeat what other people say. Going back to my previous Echoville Theory, I pointed out that the people could be agreeing with everything that the Motherboard says. So it's like a forever echo chamber of a hive mindset (just like she gets into the Mind Control Interlude). Also, her mouthing the lyrics, could also be seen as mimicking.
Showing One Hand And Hiding The Other= What she wants us to see and what she hides.
The Clean Clothes= Beyoncé is seen/known as a perfectionist and very detailed artists. Not to mention her image/how she presents herself or how the world views her. She loves her work so much.
The Washer= With her hand inside the washing machine, the washing machine can be seen as her transforming and making a statement that everyone needs a wash day (cleanse or hard work) so your clothes ( progress/success) will be clean or...

EMERGENCY STEAK (1943)
It has been a very busy week again - mostly due to scrambling to get documents together for my new job (yay!) and saying goodbye to my old one - so my Tasting History recipe is a real quick one: Emergency Steak from the American home front during World War II. The recipe comes from Betty Crocker's (actually General Mills, but that's another story) cookbook from 1943 called Your Share. The United States joined the war later than many of the other Allied countries, so rationing didn’t begin in the United States until May 1942. There, in order to buy certain foods, you needed a combination of stamps and money to get your goods. Better cuts of meat required more stamps, and as a result, many recipes were published that either replaced meat, or made lesser cuts seem like better ones, which is what this recipe attempts to do. See Maxs video on how to make this dish here or see the ingredients and process at the end of this post, sourced from his website.
My experience making it:
Because I wanted to cook all of the ground beef I had before we leave on a trip to Poland this weekend, I did not halve this recipe, but instead made two 'steaks' out of the ingredients called for. Because I wasn't able to find Wheaties here in Germany, I just used basic home-brand cornflakes. Instead of steak sauce to serve it with, I decided to use Montreal Steak Spice, which is always how steak was seasoned when I was growing up (and still today, in my house!).
I began by preheating the oven, chopping the onion, portioning out my ingredients, crumbling the cornflakes into really small pieces with my hands, and putting the ground beef in a large mixing bowl. Grabbing my trusty oven pan, I lined it with a baking sheet in preparation for the 'steaks'. I first added the salt and pepper to the beef and began kneading with my hands until the salt and pepper were well-mixed. Next, I added the chopped onion and mixed in the same way. Then, I added the tiny cornflake bits and mixed with my hands until the ground beef looked fairly consistent in texture and look overall. Lastly, I added the milk in, and mixed the soupy mess together with my hands until the ground beef was starting to stick together and I could form it into a ball easily. Now for the difficult part: I split the beef mixture roughly in half, then began forming vague steak shapes on the pan, about an inch thick. While Max says to try and form a T-bone steak shape, I got confused and tried to form what I think was meant to be a Tomahawk steak shape. I might have been way off though! Once shaped, I seasoned them with Montreal Steak Spice and put the pan in the oven on the broil setting. I let them cook for 8 minutes, then took them out to attempt to flip them. Max seemed to have a lot of trouble with this step, going so far as to write in the recipe that one should flip the entire pan, steaks and all, onto another lined baking pan. However, there were a lot of juices in my pan and I figured trying to do this was a recipe for getting burned by said hot juices, so I decided to try flipping them with a spatula. Max said his began breaking apart while doing that, but mine stayed together just fine! Perhaps this was because my steaks were in small enough shapes. I seasoned the other side of the beef, then put it back in the oven for another 8 minutes. Meanwhile, I chopped some carrots and made a quick veggie dip before taking the pan out again to check. It smelled really good, like steak! There was a nice hint of char on the edges and looked done, so I tested the temperature with the meat thermometer to make sure - definitely ready! I threw a quick garlic bread in the oven and plated everything up. While the shape of the steaks looked a little off, and the texture still seemed a bit lumpy with some visible pieces of cornflake, I otherwise thought they looked pretty good!
My experience tasting it:
I cut into the meat with a steak knife, even though the texture definitely did not require such a sturdy knife. The meat had the texture of a thick hamburger or a really loose meatloaf. It was not crumbly in the slightest, but you could see the bits of cornflake and onion in it. The taste was, unsurprisingly, also of a thick hamburger or a really loose meatloaf, despite the Montreal Steak Spice doing its best to convince me this 'emergency steak' was, in fact, a steak. It was overall very tasty, but as far as burgers go, was a little less juicy than your average burger. Flavour-wise, the onion, salt, and pepper were showing up in a perfect balance. I'm not sure if the cornflakes added much taste-wise, but they definitely brought a nice texture that made the meat a little chewier, like a steak. My husband and I both enjoyed this meal, but I don't think I'd call this a good replacement for either steak or a burger. As its own dish, it stands on its own, however! I will probably only make this again if I have a lot of ground beef to get rid of before it goes off, since it was a very quick recipe and tasted pretty nice as well. While it's clearly no steak, I can imagine this would make a nice tasty meal on the American home front during the rationing days of World War II. Betty Crocker is pretty creative, that's for sure! If you end up making this dish, if you liked it, or if you changed anything from the original recipe, do let me know!
Emergency Steak original recipe (1943)
Sourced from Your Share by Betty Crocker (General Mills), (1943).
Emergency Steak - (1 lb.—serves 6) Mix….. 1 lb. ground beef or hamburger 1/2 cup milk 1 cup Wheaties 1 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper 1 tbsp. chopped onion Place on pan, pat into T-bone steak shape, 1 in. thick. Broil 8 to 15 min. at 500° (very hot). Turn once.
Modern Recipe
Based on the recipe from Your Share by Betty Crocker (General Mills), (1943) and Max Miller’s version in his Tasting History video.
Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 tablespoon chopped onion
1/2 cup milk
1 cup (40 g) Wheaties cereal, lightly crushed
Method:
Preheat your oven’s broiler to 500°F (260°C).
In a large bowl, lightly mix the salt and pepper into the ground beef.
Add the chopped onion and mix.
Add the crushed Wheaties and mix.
Add the milk and mix. This might take a minute or so, but it will come together.
Place the mixture on a lined baking sheet and make it into a T-bone steak shape that is 1 inch (2.5 cm) thick.
Broil the steak for 8 minutes, then take it out and flip it. Since the steak is rather delicate, the best way I found to do it was to use oven mitts to invert another lined pan over the steak, flip the whole thing over, then remove the original pan (which is now on top).
Return the steak to the broiler for another 8 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).
Serve it forth with your favourite steak sauce.

"This is where I was when I found out [x famous person] died" is some borderline parasocial, attention-seeking behavior that I will never get used to. We are in a time period, where not only can people input their own experience in casual conversation like learning about 9/11 or witnessing the arrest of OJ on TV, but self-insert themselves into the event via social media for intentions ranging from clout to making it about THEMSELVES, within an easily accessible communication app where little thought is sometimes taken and insensitivity can effortlessly occur. And that will just never be normal to me.
*ps. read my last few tags if you want

Betty Black: The (Anti-) Heroine

This is just a theory. You can ask me anything if you want. Enjoy!!! This theory will be reblogged. 😊❤️
🟡 Introduction: Honey B to Betty B
I think Beyoncé used the mirror technique (in creative writing) to showcase how she feels about herself, her life (past and present) and America itself. Mirroring Betty Black (a character she plays), who goes on this adventure and safes people, but for her self interest. I believe that the three act project (or future film) is about Black Betty who (in her POV) does not belong in the western town and changed her name from Honey B (from the Dolly P interlude) to become an outlaw and go on a very extreme adventure. I thought about the song TYRANT where she sings, "Scot-free, whole city after me. Have you seen her 5'9, thique and fine what a tragedy."

🔴 DAUGHTER: The Beginning of Betty Black
I feel like "DAUGHTER" was the key to turn her into an outlaw/rebellious character. Hurting Jolene/Becky for hurting her and eliminated her man (now ex who hurt her as well). The thing about this is Beyoncé was thinking about it while the character was doing it (the mirror technique). On the right side of her we see "Black Betty", "Love", and further on the right we see "Never Knows Best". What does all of this mean?

I remember on my Theory 01: Black Betty Theory, I said that act iii could reference the Romanticism period, I think I might have merit. Next to her, I noticed love is written with a sad face on the "o", showing that the betrayal still hurts her. In Romanticism, one of the ideals was "The Suffering Hero", a hero/heroine who goes through heartbreak or suffer through separation. Which is one of the key things that could've resulted in her being a desperado. Also, the Idealized Woman could possibly be another reference to her character. In Romanticism, women were seen as multifaceted with a double-edged sword. They could be beautiful and sweet , but with little to no agency/and being objectified (by the male gaze). But, women like Mary Shelly, the Brontë Sisters, and Jane Austen challenged these male gaze notions to make complex women characters with smarts, agency, and self-identity. Beyoncé (and Betty Black) are only seen for looks, beauty, singing, but not as human with emotions, smarts, and independence.

What does "Never Knows Best" mean? It could be a hint for an upcoming song or one of the songs on act iii. Furthermore, coming from an anime called, "Fooly Cooly (2000)", the phrase means that nobody knows what's best for themselves or others. This also means uncertainty of the future or what path to take, (the right one or the best one). It's clear that Beyoncé (and Black Betty) know what's best for them (the path they take in life), if anything it's the villains (the motherboard, the hypnotist, etc.) that think they do (when actually they don't). To me, it seems as though if it is an upcoming song, then the song as a whole is about what people expect of her vs her expectations (Romanticism Ideals of the idealized woman).

🔵 The End
I believe that the Echoville film will be about Black Betty (who once was named Honey B) tired of being looked down upon in society (for being a woman) and being hurt by her man. One day, she hurts Jolene and possibly her man for cheating ("how long can he hold his breath until his death"). This is when she changed her name and decided to follow her own destiny her way.
🟥 Thank you for reading my theory/analysis and I can't wait to type more soon 🟥- ☺️❤️

What are your favorite ships right now?
I have three MAIN ships at the moment (there are other couples that I like or find cute either in fiction or in history, I’m just not as hooked). I’ll use my dear friend’s art to illustrate them:

Betty & Armando from Yo soy Betty, la fea/Ecomoda - possibly my first “serious” ship. They’re not the healthiest, their romance is dark, complex and toxic (ends up in a happy and modern marriage though, I don’t take the new sequel into account), but they’re really something. I love the fact that the playboy (he wasn’t a typical one either) fell for the “ugly” girl for her intelligence, loyalty, and sweetness. He wanted to fall in love, but he didn’t believe it would happen. Well, it happened and with the woman that no one expected it would (although I think that Calderón always knew).
Kay & Michael from The Godfather - they had potential to be a happy couple, and they would have been one if Michael hadn’t gotten into the family business. Their story is heartbreaking and really tragic, the real FAILmarriage that I enjoy a great deal, with its own high levels of toxicity caused by Michael’s manipulation and lies. I ship them, I like to read about them being together and happy in fanfics, but I’m actually glad that they split in canon, Kay found a new love, and Michael loved her till his death without having her. I’m all for this kind of drama. 😎

Isabella I of Castile & Ferdinand II of Aragon - it’s a controversial one considering who they were, but I can’t help but feel attracted to their dynamic and partnership. They’re the original power couple (regardless of what one may think of them), a heady mix of ambition, power and passion. It’s really impressive how they managed to co-rule for such a long time considering their different approach to certain matters and their strong personalities that were bound to clash. And yeh, if they had lived today, I would be scared of them, they weren’t to be trifled with.
