Dexiana headcannons (I'm starved for content of them and they're my babies)
The way I screamed when I got this ask. Okokok I have so many thoughts.
-When they started dating, they kept it secret for a while, even from their friends.
-Fitz suspected them for a long time, and eventually he confronted Biana about it, who told him the truth.
-Initially he was wary of it (he’s protective ok it’s understandable ok I don’t hate Fitz ok😭) but he cares about Biana (and Dex probably) so he’s decided to just keep any problems with it to himself.
-(He also figured that if he was supportive of it he could at least regulate it, like the protective brother her is)
-Dex’s family knew for almost the whole time because Biana spends a lot of time at Dex’s house.
-Biana’s family finds out later, and they don’t approve (good luck stopping Biana tho!)
-Dex fidgets with his hands a lot, he’s so used to working on some gadget to keep himself busy, so when he gets fidgety Biana will hold his hand.
-Sometimes Dex will idly trace her scars or draw circles on her palms.
-They’re not really the type of couple who kisses a lot in public or stuff like that, but instead they just always seem to be by each other, sitting next to each other, standing close together etc.
-That sort of more casual stuff is actually a big reason why I ship Dexiana, which might not make a whole lot of sense, but a big part of Dexiana as a ship is it’s not always super obvious, or even inherently romantic. Like I would say Tiana is arguably more obvious in the books, yet Dexiana has actually plagued my mind with most of the canon text being “they smiled at each other” and I sorta love that.
-Their relationship is very Platonic-coded, and that’s because Dex and Biana are best friends first, lovers second.
-They still go on cute romantic dates, but they also just hang out with each other sometimes.
-Dex’s love language is gift giving, so he’s always making gadgets and jewelry for Biana.
-Dex doesn’t sign up for Matchmaking, and Biana plans on not signing up, but Alden and Della pretty much force her to.
-Biana goes through the whole Matchmaking process, and when she does get her scroll she and Dex just giggle over all the elves she matched with.
-Biana also has a Winnowing Gala, but she pulls a Cinderella and ends up running away half way through to meet up with Dex.
-I don’t really have any marriage headcannons, and I can’t decide who would propose either, but if anyone has any thoughts…
-I’m a strong believer that Dex is asexual (and sex repulsed) so in the future I can’t imagine them having kids together (at least biological) but I can imagine them being the fun uncle and aunt.

Percy doesn’t like mirrors
inspired by @sandersgrey
Percy doesn’t like mirrors.
When he was five years old, he first heard them whispering about his eyes.
“His eyes—-“ “Too Bright.” “Strange”
He climbed up onto the sink and stared at his eyes. He tries to not look people in the eyes as much anymore.
When Gabe came, he called him ‘pretty’ and then he would swing.
Percy would go back to the mirror and try to make the purple go away, he doesn’t want to be pretty.
When the teacher again doesn’t understand and the bullying is getting worse, he goes back.
Is it his face?
He spends hours trying to get his face to look different. It never does.
He goes back and his bad luck follows again and again and Gabe keeps calling him ‘pretty’ and he doesn’tknowwhattodo!
He finds himself in front of the mirror, once again.
He can’t fix it.
He gets to camp and not even a week in, he’s ostracized because of his dad. His dad that he thought was as good as dead, his dad who abandoned his mother, his mother who is gone.
He looks like his dad.
As he looks in the mirror, never more has he wished this wasn’t true.
He goes on his first quest and freezes when Medusa talks about his resemblance to his father. He hates/loves it at the same time and he doesn’t like how it makes him feel.
Then he fights Ares after abandoning his mother, and he is full shock and pain and hurt and what just happened, what have I done?
He meets his father who has his green too green, not normal eyes and his troublemaker why do you always have to cause problems Percy smile.
Poseidon tells him that he is sorry Percy was born and Percy shatters.
Were you expecting an ‘I love you’?
Percy looks at his reflection in the water, his hands shaking, and wishes he looked more like his mother.
He didn’t look right, he was still too pretty.
Luke betrays him and his betrayal leaves a mark. Percy spends hours scrubbing the spot, as it bleeds then mends, where the scorpion stung him, but it doesn’t come off, why won’t it come off.
At least he is not pretty anymore.
He discovers that he is related to Tyson. He just was accepted only to be an outcast once again. He channels his fear into frustration.
Fear that the difference between him and Tyson isn’t that big after all.
Fear that one day he is going to look in the mirror and see one eye staring back at him.
Fear because he had forgotten that Poseidon was the father of monsters and how different is. he really?
Circe calls him ugly and Annabeth calls him dumb.
They’re not wrong.
When they finally finish the quest and Tyson is safe, Percy wonders again.
Thalia is back and Percy is stuck.
He is shockshockshock, but at the same time relief-no-hate-no-like?
He meets Nico who is bright, too bright. Was he ever this bright?
He watches as his sister abandons Nico and tells himself he won’t do the same.
“You promised!” Nico screams.
Percy is numb, he needs to do something, anything because it keeps replaying in his head.
“The stars, my lady. The stars.”
“It was the only one that he didn’t have.”
Zoe, Biana, Zoe, Biana,Zoe,BianaZoeBiana.
They kept going in his head like a broken record. He goes and he scrubs at his hands, he could have saved them, why didn’t he save them?
He notes absently that the water was healing his cuts a little slower than usual, but that’s s ok, he wanted to bleed, he deserved it.
He ignores the white strand in his hair as he looks into his eyes and thinks he can see how broken they are now.
Things speed up over the next year.
Rachel.
The Labyrinth and that made him feel sick. He stared at his brother and wondered.
The fear rolled in his stomach again.
Wrong wrongwrongwrongwrong.
Pan.
He could tell that he knew the other with the old pained eyes and him with the fractured green.
Then came Nico and Percy felt like he failed again.
I’m so sorry, Nico.
Quintus was Daedalus because of course he was.
Then came the battle, the battle of the Labyrinth, they would call it.
He truly felt mad.
He felt as people he knew and those he didn’t, kids, die and he felt himself crack a little more.
That’s when he truly learned to mourn, staring at those who had fallen, where they should have been safe, this home should have been safe.
He felt himself crack a little more.
It feels like the blood will never come off.
When Nico and his dad appear at his birthday party, he wonders.
The war is coming. The fact that they are just kids doesn’t seem to matter. It should matter.
Charlie dies and Percy is lost. It shouldn’t have happened. Why Luke?
He learns the prophecy and remembers the fates and how his fate has hung over his head for a long time.
He tries to keep moving.
Tries to not think about how that wouldn’t be so bad.
He agrees to Nico’s plan and it works, but why? Why did Nico have to betray him? He trusted him!
The war goes quickly, but not at all.
Michael, Lee, Silena, and so many others gone.
How many people did he kill? How many kids? He feels wrong wrongwrongwrong.
And Annabeth. She was stabbed for him and his world feels like it stopped.
When he fights Hyperion, something snaps in him and suddenly he has his own personal hurricane.
He pushed it out of his mind. He refused to think about it.
Finally, he’s in front of Kronos and he is forced to watch as Ethan and Luke die and somehow he couldn’t hate them anymore.
He feels his hands shaking, is it over?
He turns down the gods easily, he didn’t want their curse, he just wants parents to acknowledge their children.
After all is said and done, on his birthday, getting a girlfriend, Annabeth, was perfect.
That night though, he wake up in a cold sweat and as he threw water on his face to cool down, he couldn’t help but look in the mirror.
Scars crisscrossed his body and his eyes were shattered.
Percy closed his eyes, took a deep breath, then went to bed.
Percy doesn’t like mirrors.

Family Line by Conan Gray X Fitz Vacker
(How didn’t I think of it sooner?)
« My father never talked a lot »: Alden… isn’t really open. Like. I doubt any of his kids, and even Della, ever knew what was happening, what he was doing, even when they were on missions.
« He just took a walk around the block »: keuf. That’s the secret missions. For the Council and for himself. That a kid can’t understand.
« Till all his anger took a hold of him, and he’d hit »: so. As I said for Driver’s Seat analysis, I doubt the cracks and the emotions go out as anger in the Lost Cities. Though it could happen, adding to the guilt that broke his mind. Yeah. Alden probably screamed. Criticized harshly without realizing. That’s the blows.
« My mother never cried a lot »: Della always stayed in the shadows. She says it herself, she isn’t known as standing up.
« She took the punches but she never fought »: that is about how Della never corrected Alden’s favoritism. She just compensated by caring more for Alvar and Biana.
« Till she said “I’m leaving and I’ll take the kids”, so she did »: that’s book 4. That’s Della joining the Black Swan.
« I say “They’re just the ones who gave me life” »: Fitz all throughout Flashback. Standing against his parents. Protesting.
« But I truly am my parents’ child »: but he can never undo the pressure, the legacy. Even his name, Fitz, that means « son of ». He’s what the Vackers made him.
« Scattered cross my family line »: the way the Vacker family is exploded. The ancestors. Alvar by the Neverseen. Alden and Della never truly close to their kids. Biana and Fitz raised in competition.
« I’m so good at telling lies »: he’s good at dissimulation, at tricking the world to appear fine.
« That came from my mother’s side »: dunno if Della lies. Probably yes. And she always gives the impression to be pretty delicate beauty, when she’s clearly a fighter (cf her registry pages in Unlocked)
« Told a million to survive »: not to survive but to keep the appearances up. Everything’s fine. There is no reason to worry.
« God, I have my father’s eyes »: Fitz has always been perceived as perfect heir. Miniature Alden.
« But my sister’s when I cry »: the fact that, with everything collapsing, Fitz and Biana grew closer throughout the series.
« I can run, but I can’t hide, from my family line »: that is the feeling that whatever he does, he will always be a Vacker. Seen as royal perfection.
« It’s hard to put it into words, how the holidays will always hurt »: it’s hard to admit in Glitter City that it’s not really perfect, expressing that is something they’ve never been taught.
« I watch the fathers with their little girls, and wonder what I did to deserve this »: I think I remember Fitz voicing that. Voicing that he doesn’t know why he is there, treated with so much respect and admiration and feeling so out of place.
« How could you hurt a little kid »: how could you turn me into a simple puppet and forget I have an identity ?
« I can’t forget, I can’t forgive you »: that’s to the whole family tree. The old ones that passed down the pressure and perfection-expectations for centuries.
« Cause now I’m scared that everyone I love will leave me ». This line is about how Fitz doesn’t know how to love. How to be stable. How to live.
« All that I did, I tried to undo it »: that he tried. Being perfect representation of the system? He joined the rebellion. Hurting Sophie and mistrusting her? He went through the whole process of Inquisition and accepted Sokeefe. Making Biana feel invisible? He talked with her in Flashback.
« All of my pain and all your excuses, I was a kid but I wasn’t clueless »: how living in both worlds made him stranger to everything, how he felt something was wrong with the missions, how he just wanted to make Alden proud.
« Someone who loves you wouldn’t do this »: to the system. To all the girls flirting with him without knowing. To his parents not understanding his fears.
« All of my past, I tried to erase it »: killing Alvar as erasing the pain. Joining the Black Swan as erasing the pressure. He is a runaway boy too, but it shows less.
« But now I see, would I even change it? »: I think he can learn to think like this. To be satisfied.
« Might share a face and share a last name, but we are not the same »: now. By Stellarlune, he knows. He knows he can have an identity and not be a copy of his father. He can not make the same mistakes.

Kotlc characters as Winston Bishop quotes:
Keefe: So I’m just staying positive but uh… I’m pretty sure this is where we die
———————————————————————————————————
Linh: Wait time out, are we eating or are we not eating?
———————————————————————————————————
Sophie: Saturday is a day for sleeping, and dammit you will not take that away from me!
———————————————————————————————————
Marella, after setting something on fire: Sophie! What did you do?!
———————————————————————————————————
Dex: Guys, as they say, when one chapter ends, a bridge appears, and then you cross that bridge and make lemonade on a molehill.
———————————————————————————————————
Keefe: I’m the best at pranks. They call me Prank Sinatra
———————————————————————————————————
Dex, to Biana: If I were doing something stupid, you definitely would be involved.
———————————————————————————————————
Rayni, taking about a package: It’s to small to be a cat hotel and too big to be pants, so it can’t be mine.
———————————————————————————————————
Maruca, to Biana: Me owe you? You ditched me when we were supposed to run away from school together. I built that raft for nothing.
———————————————————————————————————
Marella: We’re gonna make a girl cry today!
———————————————————————————————————
Biana: Or we could break into a zoo, steal a bear, then we shoot the bear full of Hep C, we release that bear in the restaurant right as they’re about to order desert.

oblivious - FedEx week day 6 oneshot
Fitz is walking with a purpose towards the door frame. He is walking, and walking, and walking with a purpose, and so when he stops with a purpose, it is rather abrupt.
“Good morning.”
Unleashing a string of near-unintelligible curses, Dex flails for the nearest thing he can throw, which is, frankly, stupid, because there are plenty of fragile looking prototype things there, he could just channel an intruders body, and any normal throw would pale in comparison to one with telekinesis.
Thankfully(?), he throws his circlet instead of an invention, chucking it directly at Fitz’s chest. He catches it, of course, but he’s a bit irked by the fact he had to.
“How does it feel to have a higher title than me?” Fitz jokes, only a tad bitterly. He was trying for easy, cool humor, but it probably didn’t come through, judging by the fleeting look of surprise on Dex’s face.
“Pretty great, actually.”
Okay, Dex’s smirk is fanning the flames of Fitz’s jealousy. Among other things. Sublime.
“And people are . . . treating you well?”
“When have they not,” he deadpans.
“Ah, um-”
“Fitz, please don’t take this the wrong way, but why are you asking questions you don’t want answers to? Seriously.”
Flustered, Fitz clears his throat in a sad attempt for time to think of an appropriate answer.
“That’s not- I do want to know. It just happened to be, ah, a question I was using to ease conversation before I brought up the true subject.”
“The true subject, huh?”
This is so stressful. He’s grinning and showing off his stupidly cute dimple, and he’s making a significant amount of eye contact. Why can’t he just let Fitz warm up to the subject? Get used to the conversation? He’d had exactly one real, beyond surface-level conversation with Dex before, and it had been about him almost dying. He didn’t exactly have a foundation here.
“Yes.”
“Care to share, Wonderboy?”
“You don’t need a moment to wake up?”
Dex shakes his head, smoothing out the crumpled blueprint that had been acting as a pillow. He gives Fitz a sleepy, half-lidded smile, which pretty much acts as a shot to the heart.
“Will you show me around Mysterium? We could, um, check out the food stalls, and vendor carts, and get gifts for the midterms party?”
“So, go on errands together?”
Together, yes. Errands? Not the most accurate description of what Fitz was getting at.
“More like a date?”
“Stars, finally!”
“Finally?”
“I’ve been dropping hints for weeks! Biana told me to just wait it out, because you're flirted with so often that you don’t take it seriously anymore, and it would eventually sink in.”
“It’s the Keefe effect,” Fitz grumbles.
“Right. This happens on one condition.”
Fitz stiffens.
“We avoid Slurp and Burps, okay? We don’t need my dad or siblings scaring you away.”
Cracking a smile, Fitz agrees.
His mind circled back to what Dex had said about dropping hints.
Had he really? How did Fitz not notice?

Hc on what the characters “taste” like while kissing them
Sophie- Sugar and cinnamon. You can’t walk into a kitchen without it reminding you of her. Definition of “a spoon full of sugar.” Song.
Fitz- Vanilla extract. It’s just full on vanilla that nobody can handle. He definitely drowned in tumblr’s vanilla extract sea.
Dex- Motor oil, try fight me here. Can’t forget about that hint of honey. I don’t know how Sophie survived that first kiss with him.
Keefe- Oranges and pomegranates. He just tastes like a bunch of citrus fruits. A full on wild combination of them.
Marella- If you decided to munch on some Rose petals that’s the answer. It may be because of her literally eating roses at 7.
Biana- Cranberries and Raspberries. It’s just a rush of sweet juiciness. More or so just a berry garden with vines all over the place.
Tam- Custard. Just some blueberries and custard. Nobody knows why though. Not even Linh can answer that one.
Linh- Sea salt, I mean it Marella literally said “your lips taste like sea salt.” But also a hint of lemon. Her lips are honestly just salty and sour.
Maruca- Hazel nuts and if you decided to eat some violets. Pretty sure the nuts are from being in an “almond as a snack” household.
Stina- Bubblegum and pop rocks. The pop rocks are actually just the sparks through if your meant to be with her.
Wylie- Chocoate, and I mean like dark chocolate with those fancy nuts in them. It’s dark but nice, no arguments here.
Rayni- Rain, I can’t explain it but just rain and raspberries. Sometimes even parchment. It makes sense because she loves the rain.
Jensi- Cookies and sugar. He spends his days literally downing sugar packets. Can’t forget about eating the cookie batter.

Keeper of the Lost Cities: Forevermore (Chapter 3)
“Keefe?” Sophie wheeled around.
Her boyfriend stood with crossed arms, a white uniform, and his signature smirk.
“Can’t go one day without going to the healing center, can’t you, Foster?” He joked.
“You know me.” Sophie sighed and smiled. She hadn’t seen Keefe in a few days. He’d been busy moving into Splendor Plains. Sophie was happy he was living with Elwin instead of his overbearing father, Lord Cassius.
“What are you doing here?” Sophie asked.
“Learning, apparently. Magnate Leto insisted I go back to Foxfire, so here I am!” Keefe grinned.
“I didn’t see you at orientation.” Sophie noted.
“Well, I did some training with Grady this morning. But it took longer than expected.” He explained.
“Why? Did something go wrong?” Sophie scrunched her eyebrows.
“Ahh, and you’ve got that adorable worried look on your face. Everything’s fine, Foster. But, um, he wanted to talk to me.” Keefe looked a bit nervous as he told her the last part.
“About what?” Sophie pressed.
“Soooo, uhhh, well, have you talked to your parents about…us?” Keefe asked.
“No, I haven’t.” Sophie replied.
And it was true. Although, Sophie was sure Edalune suspected their relationship through all the sappy smiles, she had yet to tell them it was official. She really didn’t want to think about what Grady would say, though, since he had a past of not favoring Keefe. And if he knew she was dating That Boy?
Pure chaos and embarrassment.
“Well, Grady asked me if there was anything going on between us.” Keefe sighed.
“What did you say?” Sophie gasped.
“I told him we were in a relationship.” He shrugged.
Sophie’s eyes widened.
“What?!” She exclaimed, “Why did you tell him?” She asked, frustrated.
“Hey, I thought it was better to tell the truth.” Keefe argued.
“But this is Grady we’re talking about. He…didn’t kill you?” Sophie narrowed her eyes.
Keefe’s smirk returned. “Nope. Turns out the Gradynator actually likes me.” He laughed.
“Thank god,” said Sophie, “But I bet I’m in for a long, stern talk when I get home.”
“Sorry..” Keefe told her.
“It’s alright. I guess it’s good that we got it over with.”
The bell rung for lunch.
“Well, I guess it’s time to go say hello to our bffs.” Keefe reached for her hand. Sophie got butterflies as their fingers intertwined. They walked down the hall to the cafeteria together and spotted Biana and Tam at their usual table.
Bianas eyes widened. “Keefe! You’re here!” She realized.
“Unfortunately.” He joked.
Tam just stared at their clasped hands.
“Anyways.” Sophie breathed, plopping down in a chair, and Keefe in the one next to her.
“Your hair is looking shinier than usual, Bangs Boy.” Keefe noted.
Tam’s bangs did have more of a shimmer to them.
“Oh uh, yeah I decided to melt more silver in” He fussed with his bangs.
“It looks really good.” Biana told him.
Tam looked the other way and Biana tugged at the ends of her hair.
They seemed…awkward.
And both of them were flushing red…
But Sophie decided not to acknowledge it.
And neither did Keefe, apparently. Even though this was quite the epic teasing opportunity.
“Look who’s back.” Fitz muttered setting down his tray.
“Fitz!” Sophie exclaimed a bit too loudly.
He sat on the opposite side of her.
“Hiya, Fitzy!” Keefe smiled at him.
Sophie hoped he’d ignore Fitz’s glare, but that was impossible. Fitz eyed Keefe with a hundred daggers.
Keefe sucked in a breath, like he was about to snap him a reply, but he stayed quiet.
“Well,” Marella plopped down next to Biana, breaking the awkwardness, “I’m pretty sure I failed that metaphysics test! But, eh, what’s new?” She smiled, tossing her reddish blonde hair.
“I know, right!” Biana agreed.
“It wasn’t that hard.” Dex sat down next to Keefe.
“Easy for you to say.” Biana grumbled.
Sophie probably failed the test too, but she didn’t contribute to the conversation because she was busy falling asleep again.
Soph? Keefe transmitted.
Huh? Oh sorry I was just…
Tired?
Yeah.. Sophie yawned
You’re so cute. Keefe smirked.
Sophie rolled her eyes.
Do you think we should tell them about us? She asked.
Do you want to tell them? Keefe questioned.
I think we should. Sophie replied, I mean my parents know and Fitz…
Knows we kissed? Keefe finished
Yeah. That. Sophie sighed.
“ME AND FOSTER HAVE AN ANNOUNCEMENT!” Keefe exclaimed.
“Keefe!” Sophie hissed.
“Don’t worry Soph, I got this.”
Sophie turned to her friends. Their eyes were wide and confused.
Keefe paused, took a deep breath and said, “We wanted to tell you guys…we’re together.” He smiled.
Her friends all looked at each other and smiles started to creep onto their faces.
“Oh crud!” Biana laughed.
“Oh crud, what?” Linh came over and sat by Marella.
“Dex owes me so much money!” Biana smirked.
“Come on!” Dex grumbled.
“Wait, what?” Sophie was confused.
“Yeah they made bets on you.” Marella twirled her hair around her finger.
“So…you guys knew?” Keefe inquired.
“It’s not like you guys were subtle about it.” Tam muttered.
Fitz snorted.
Sophie wasn’t an empath. But if she was, she’d probably get a whole lot of negative emotions coming from her ex-boyfriend.
“I’m so happy for your guys!” Linh grinned.
“Yeah, but dude, if you hurt her at all, you should expect a particularly painful prank coming your way.” Dex warned Keefe.
“Now, Dexter, why would I do that?” Keefe said.
“Why wouldn’t you?” Someone spoke up.
It was Fitz.
“Okay, dude, what is your problem?” Keefe leaned across the table.
“You.” Fitz snarled, “You’re my problem.”

Unmatched Chapter 4
Chapter 4 is out now! Heres chapter 3 if you need it
each chapter of Unmatched links to the one before it so just follow the links to the earliest chapter you need to read :)
Fitz (4)
Fitz had a problem. A big old stinking problem. Right after his conversation with Sophie his dad had come into his room and he had said that since Fitz had broken up with Sophie and he had his match lists he should throw a winnowing gala. Besides his dad had said its not like Fitz was interested in anyone else.
Fitz had agreed even though that was a lie. Even though he was interested in someone, Even though he had a huge crush on Dex, and most significantly even though he was pretty certain Dex liked him back.
Fitz’s best friend Keefe had started to catch on to the fact that there was something up with Fitz. (And not just because Sophie told him there was) The next afternoon after a game of bramble (Biana and Sophie won) and Biana had pulled Sophie away for a makeover Keefe confronted Fitz.
“Hey so Foster said your going through something and she won’t say what but when your dad said your gonna be having a winnowing gala and you seemed depressed. Is everything ok dude?” Keefe asked worriedly
Fitz shrugged “No, but it doesn’t really matter cause It can’t be fixed even if Sophie says it can be”
Keefe chuckled “Listen to my girlfriend dude, Fosters pretty smart.” Keefe’s look then turned deadly serious “Unless you actually were staring at her the other day and you want her back in which case I will remind you I once beat the ogre king in a fight”
Fitz laughed, He wasn’t stupid enough to want to fight Keefe for Sophie she was her own person and she chose Keefe, Besides he liked someone else now “No no no I don’t want Sophie back, and yeah your right she is pretty smart but uh” Fitz rubbed his neck nervously “The person I like isn’t a girl. I wasn’t staring at Sophie. I was staring at Dex” Keefe’s eye widened “That’s the problem. That’s why I can’t take her advice”
Keefe rolled his eyes “That’s exactly why you should take her advice actually. Like Foster said this can be fixed. So what if you’d be a bad match? You’d be happy Fitz and that’s all that matters. Do you know what my dad said yesterday when I told him I was dating Foster? He said our family had enough bad press for a lifetime. Do you know what I said? I said screw you beacuse I freaking love her and that’s all that matters. Not the council and their match lists on who you can date.”
Fitz looked at his best friend in awe. Keefe supported him unconditionally and said that he should go for it with Dex. He’d said to do what makes Fitz happy. “Thanks man” Fitz said and hugged him, They didn’t hug alot but right now after this conversation it’s the best reply he could think of.
A while later Keefe had rescued Sophie from Biana’s makeup collection and and was sitting on a chair with her on his lap. Sophie had her head on his shoulder and was staring to fall asleep. And Keefe was staring at Sophie with this pure unbridled awe that made Fitz jealous. He was so jealous at the fact that Keefe could just openly show affection for the one he wanted. Yes Sophie was unmatchable but no one knew and Keefe didn’t care he wanted to show his affection for his girlfriend , he wanted the whole lost cites to see his love, he didn’t care about the consequences and Fitz was jealous of this. He was jealous of his best friends courage. Fitz wished he had courage like Keefe did.
Fitz decided to let Sophie and Keefe have their moment and went up to his room. He took out his imparter and after some hesitation he called Dex.
“Hey dude” Fitz said greeting Dex after he picked up
Dex grinned “Wonderboy! Whats up?”
Fitz layed down on his bed “My dad’s making me have a winnowing gala, my sister and my cognate beat me in bramble, my best friend is intensely supportive of me and said best friend is currently downstairs being sickingly adorable with his girlfriend”
Dex laughed “Wow that’s alot. Why is your dad making you have a winnowing gala”
“Cause since Sophie and I broke up and she’s with Keefe my dad thinks I should stop “wallowing” his words not mine and get back out there” Fitz said resdue annoyedness at his dad bleeding through
“Ouch” Dex responded concerned “He really called you out there didn’t he?”
Fitz shrugged “I mean if it was a couple months ago he would’ve been right but he isn’t currently”
“Why did you agree to the gala then?” Dex asked
Fitz took a deep breath “Cause I didn’t want to admit to him who I’m really into”
“Who are you into?”
Fitz took another breath “You”

~Platonic Fitzphie Fanfic Pt.1~
(takes place in between Unlocked and Stellarlune)
family friendly :D (except for cussing)
It was still fairly early, and the sun had not yet risen but Fitz couldn’t sleep. His body could could barely move and he didn’t feel like opening his eyes but he was still very much awake. He didn’t know how long he had been awake. Maybe twenty or thirty minutes? Either way, he had been thinking. questions flooded his mind. Where was Alvar? For that matter, where was Keefe? Should he find them? No, he knew Alvar was dying. He had made sure of that. But… if he found Dex maybe they could be friends. That wasn’t right, Dex was still in the Lost Cities, Keefe was the one who ran away. He was thinking about the wrong handsome blond boy. “Handsome?” That wasn’t right either. Sure, he had been told Keefe was attractive (mostly by Biana, when she was younger.) but… Dex? Dex wasn’t handsome at all. Sure, Dex had beautiful periwinkle eyes that lit up in such a way that made Fitz’s heart flutter. And sure, he had a smile brighter than the sun with with amazing dimples to match and of course he had strawberry blond hair that waved subtly in the wind that made him look better than anyone Fitz had ever met but that didn’t make him handsome, did it? Yes, it did. He thought. He wouldn’t fall in love with someone who looked like the yeti toenail Keefe made him eat at a party, after all. In love? No, that also had to be his sleepy brain. But… it couldn’t have been he was wide awake. Shit. Shit. Shit. Shit. He wasn’t wrong he was in love. He loved Dexter Alvin Dizznee. He wanted to be with Dex in the same way he used to with Sophie. But, no matter how much he wanted to be with him, he had to face reality. Dex was a boy and so was Fitz. Fitz was the golden boy. He couldn’t risk falling off his throne. He had to stay on a straight path. He had to marry someone on his match list. He couldn’t be the only Vacker to be a bad match. He couldn’t sully his name.
Still, he knew that keeping everything inside was dangerous. Especially for him. He bottled his emotions until they burst out of him and he lashed out. He had lost so many friends because of it. Raida. Arix. Ezra. Keefe. Eboni. Hollis. He wouldn’t loose any more. He would tell a friend this time. He wished he could talk to a specialist but, his father wouldn’t allow him to meet with one.
So, he opened his eyes, picked up his imparter and said “hail Sophie Foster” moments later his best appeared on the screen. She rubbed the sleep out of her eyes. “Fitz? What are you doing up?” Sophie asked.
“I have to tell you something, Sophie.” He responded, not meeting her eyes.
Her brow furrowed anxiously and she asked “What happened? Is everyone okay?”
“we’re all okay, Sophie. None of us are injured or sick” he told her. “Then what could possibly be so bad?” She asked.
“I’m in love with your cousin, Sophie.” He said, sighing
the shocked look on her face said it all. “I know, unacceptable and stupid, right? Just promise me you won’t talk about this and I’ll leave you alone.” He said, his hand moving toward the off button on the imparter.
“Fitz! Wait!” Sophie pleaded
“why should I? You think I’m a freak, Sophie Foster!”
“I don’t think you’re a freak, it just… you used to hate Dex and now you say you’re in love with him. It’s just a lot to process!”
“I-I’m sorry.” he said, calming down. Fitz took a breath and then asked, tearfully “what do I do now?”
“um… I’m pretty sure this is the part where you ask him out?” Sophie said.
“I can’t do that, my father will be angry.” He said. Sophie yawned. “Let’s work this out in the morning. Get some sleep okay? You wouldn’t wanna get a boyfriend on no sleep.”
Fitz nodded and ended the call. Despite the cluster of emotions in his chest, he fell asleep quickly.
Tysm for making it this far!!!! Anyway imma tag @sapphic-el

skateboard stickers and a bright red guitar strap
@winterfireice i was your secret santa, i hope you enjoy this! @song-tam
summary: biana is just a barista at the coffee shop with the world’s most pride flags. sophie is the college kid who seems to only ever host his sessions at this shop. marella is the band member whose band seems to play only at this shop. but that can’t mean anything, right?
There is no reason why a sweaty college student with blond hair tied up into a failing ponytail should turn Biana fifty different shades of red. Sophie Foster doesn’t seem to think so, with her fingerless leather gloves and elbow pads.
Honestly, who gave him the right to look so good? Was their goal to make Biana re-realize how gay ae is every time ae sees her? It sure as hell seems like. Sophie’s got his skateboard in his left hand, looking around before finding Tam in a chair and practically bouncing over to him. He throws her skateboard down next to Tam, where it lands upside down, showing off the five d20’s stickers and three pride flags plastered on it.
She tries for a side hug that Tam pushes off with a small smile. He throws her skateboard on the chair next to Tam, then does her adorable bouncing walk over to Biana at the cash register.
Shit. Ae did not have enough time to prepare for an actual interaction with the girl who can pull of sweaty skater punk. Sophie smiles, his eyes crinkling with it.
God, she smiles like the fucking sun, ae can’t stop aerself from thinking.
“Hey Biana! How’s it going?” It’s okay, Biana can do this. Ae can control aer hopeless woman loving for one moment and talk to Sophie.
“Pretty good, how about you?”
“Same here.” Another smile. Biana can do this. Ae’s not that useless of a lesbian.
“What can I get for you, and don’t chose something I don’t want to make or I’ll convince Fitz to join your DnD group,” Biana laughs. Sophie narrows her eyes in a playful glare.
“You wouldn’t.”
“I would.”
“Unbelievable.” A beat of silence then a soft laugh Biana could get drunk on. Ae might just be able to if the way ae’s just a bit weak in the knees. “Can I get two large iced mochas with three shots of espresso?”
“Are you getting one for Mister-Black-Coffee or are you getting two coffees for yourself again?” Sophie smiles sheepishly.
“Now, why would you ever think that, Biana?”
“Oh I would never be able to give you a reason for that, Soph.” Sophie smiles. Biana turns away to make the coffees, wishing it was easier to keep aer brain to focus on working the espresso machine. Last time ae wasn’t focused ae burned aer hand.
Somehow, with a beautiful girl watching aer, Biana makes the coffees without burning aer hand again. Ae doesn’t know how ae did it, but ae did. Biana might just be magical.
“You’re great, Biana, a saint if I could say so. Which I can, and will.” Sophie’s smile could make the most emotionally stony person melt, and Biana’s not even close to stone.
“Yeah, yeah, whatever you say.”
.
As if one persistent crush of a friend wasn’t enough, Marella Redek refuses to give Biana’s heart a goddamn break. If there’s one thing that hits Biana harder than a girl with a skateboard, it’s a girl with a guitar.
And Marella’s got a guitar in her hands, the bright red shoulder strap catching some of cer gold streaked hair beneath it. Biana wants to wall over and free the strands, and maybe just brush aer fingers against Marella’s neck just to see what’ll happen.
Ae busies aerself cleaning the counter, letting that idea be scrubbed out by the smell of bleach mixed with water.
Marella’s band sets up for the nighttime show, the coffee shop practically empty before the flood of people Biana knows will come to watch them play.
“Wait, where the hell is Keefe?” Stina says suddenly, stopping her messing with her keyboard. Linh looks up with a deceivingly innocent smile and Biana knows the answer long before Linh says a word.
“With my brother, catching a ride.”
Maruca snorts. “Oh yeah? Did Tam get a skateboard big enough for the two of them?”
“Unless he went to the store in the last hour, no, he didn’t.”
Marella laughs and catches Biana’s eye from across the room, cer eyes reading Can you believe those two? plainly. Biana rolls her eyes and mouths a Nope, the shape of the word tarnished by the smile on her lips. But Marella seems to know the word well enough to smile a smile Biana swears contains the whole sun.
Biana looks away before ce can see aer blush. The bell on the door dings and a yell of
“Took you long enough, Heslege!”
from Stina lets Biana know Keefe’s finally here, Tam most likely following in suit, ready for the shift he practically begged Jensi to let him trade. Jensi had smirked with all the smugness of a mob boss and said
“We can definitely trade shifts, Tam.”
Tam rushes to Biana near the counter, pointedly ignoring Keefe lean dramatically against Stina for a small jab from Marella. His cheeks are red, from the skateboard tucked under his arm or the blond warming up a few feet away, Biana can’t tell.
“Hey Loverboy, how was the ride over?” Biana asks quietly. Tam punches aer arm.
“Shut up.”
“Oh, that good?”
Tam glares at aer, to which Biana smiles sweetly. Tam eventually sighs and leans over to Biana.
“He caught me when I fell, Biana. In his arms. And he held me there for a second. I swear to god I almost fucking died.”
“God, Tam, it’s like you’re in a rom com. Next thing you know he’ll be dedicating his newest love song to you.”
Tam rolls his eyes. “That’ll happen when pigs fly.”
“I can make that happen,” a new voice buts in. One with a smirk on cer lips and laughter in cer eyes. “Little glue and a crane or wires, I can make a pig fly.”
Both Biana and Tam turn red at Marella’s light voice, though for very different reasons. Biana laughs along, hoping Marella doesn’t notice the tint in aer cheeks.
“Bit hot here, Biana?” Tam asks. Ae throws the rag at Tam, soaking wet rag smacking the middle of his shirt.
“Dude!”
“I was just laughing at our friendly neighborhood hopeless romantic,” Biana laughs nervously.
“Someone’s got to,” Marella laughs.
“I’m going to spit in your next coffee, Redek,” Tam warns, a laugh in his eyes with his cheeks red.
“Be my guest, Tam, I’ll have Keefe try it first.” Marella laughs, then smacks the counter, leaning back off it. “I’d better get back there, band’s gotta practice and they’d fall apart without me, naturally.”
Ce winks at Biana before turning around, turning cer sun-smile back to the band, but with the way it changes, Biana can think just for a second, that ce had one just for aer.
But no, that would be ridiculous. Marella smiles like that for everyone, minuscule changes or not.
.
“Sophie, Sophie, please tell me that ae’ll realize soon. I winked at aer. I winked. Do you even know how stupid I felt? Tam saw! Tam was looking at me while I flirted with aer,” Marella rants into cer phone.
Cer guitar is in it’s case, amp stuffed in a duffle bag hanging off Marella’s side. Ce tosses cer keys up and down, only a few blocks from cer apartment.
“I don’t know, ae’s worse than I was.”
“Now, I wouldn’t go that far, Soph. I had to ask to kiss you for you to go ‘Hey! Maybe Marella likes me!’.”
Marella fumbles with opening the door to cer apartment complex.
“I’m not that bad!” A moment of paused, only Marella’s small laugh filling the space. “Okay, maybe I am.”
“Maybe?”
“Yeah, I’m that bad.”
.
Biana, like an idiot, had decided to come to the coffee shop on aer day off. While Marella’s playing and Sophie’s in the crowd, skateboard leaning on his chair and bandaids covering her arms and hands.
“Sit next to Sophie,” Jensi says, a fond shake of his head. “She doesn’t bite, at least to my knowledge. Though, one can never be sure with blondes.”
“What do you have against blondes?” Biana laughs, aer face twisting into confusion. A look so serious it has to be a joke falls onto Jensi’s face.
“Nobody has hair that light naturally, I call witchcraft.” Jensi slides Biana’s coffee across the counter and shakes his head. “Now, go sit with him or I’ll pick you up and put you in his lap.”
“You can’t even pick me up!”
“Yeah, but Dex can and xe owes me for taking his shift so he could be annoying somewhere else.”
“Thanks for that, by the way. Xe came over and spent the night, xe and Fitz were the worst. It’s like they want to remind me how horribly single I am.”
“Go sit with Sophie and you won’t be.”
“Fuck you, Jensi.”
Ae goes to sit by Sophie anyway, gaining a soft punch from Sophie when she sits down. A smile too, bright and warm just like always. There’s not much speaking, not that Biana minds.
It’s nice just sitting next to Sophie, watching Marella dance around the best ce can with a guitar. But then Marella takes the microphone from Keefe after a song, letting him wander off stage (probably towards Tam, Biana’s willing to bet).
“Keefe bet me ten bucks I he would confess to his crush first, and I want a coffee tonight and only have ten bucks, so here we go.” Sophie’s smiling like a madman, elbowing Biana like he wants to make sure ae’s listening. “So, Biana, after way too much flirting, I would like to formally announce I like you and me and Sophie would like to take you on a date.”
“What.” The perfect thing for Biana to say in that moment.
“You suck! I didn’t bring money!” Keefe yells, in the middle of dramatically dipping down to his knee in front of time.
“Yeah, yeah, keep going Lover Boy. Now, what do you say Biana?”
There’s a lot of heartfelt things Biana could be saying in this moment, and probably a lot of things ae should say. Instead, ae yells:
“I want to choose the place!”
Sophie and Marella laugh, Sophie throwing an arm over Biana’s shoulder.
“You’ve got yourself a deal, Bee,” they both say with a laugh. Keefe stays off stage for the next song, Marella taking over vocals with a voice that’s as rough as sandpaper in a lovely way.
“Ce wrote this one for you,” Sophie whispers.
Biana finds ae believes it.

my lovely book-blogger friend has been reading kotlc, so I thought I'd share her reviews, in case anyone's interested! you can read what she's written so far on her blog, and here's her section on the characters from her book 1 review:
"The characters in this were so. much. fun! I loved Sophie! I loved the internal struggles she dealt with. She was easy to relate too and I felt like she made me feel special too. I can’t wait to see her grow and see where she goes! I love her devotion and loyalty. I love her integrity. She’s a sweet, fun girl who deals with a lot of struggles that we deal with in our own lives. Fitz. Oh, Fitz. Part of me really wishes he wasn’t the school’s resident pretty boy because I have fallen hard for him! He’s such a neat character and I just know there’s more to learn about him. I want to dig into his past, his family, his character, his abilities, everything! Biana and Alden and Della (and the older brother) are such unique and cool characters. I loved seeing them interact with each other, individually with others, and with Sophie. Love that family! Dex was your classic best friend, nerdy, supportive, and clever character. I really liked him a lot, too. But he and Fitz needa sort stuff out and we needa know exactly what went down! I don’t like them fighting! Elwin! I LOVED Elwin! He reminded me of Doc Brown from Back to the Future just a little bit. I really hope we see much more of him. Edaline and Grady were interesting pieces of the puzzle. I’m curious to see how that develops. Keefe was just downright mischievous and fun. I want lots more of him. The small glimpse into his past/home life will hopefully expand too. The professors were neat, and hopefully we’ll also see those characters deepen as the series progresses. I was seriously emotionally invested in Sophie’s relationships with all of these people. So, that’s a win in my book."

You draw VERY good side profiles 🥺 Like.. that Della and Biana art is amazing like DAMN that beautiful side profile of Della?? Tutorial please?/srs♥️♥️
Thank youuuuuu! 💛
Honestly, idk if a tutorial of how I do side profiles will be very helpful, I don’t know what I’m doing 🥲, but I’ll try my best to explain my steps!
Ok so first I make a sideways oval. Not a circle, an oval:
Tumblr media
Then I add a line. It’s not completely straight but also I can’t draw a straight line so
Tumblr media
Then I add a circle that’s outside but touching the line. It sort of matches up with the bottom of the oval. That will be a guideline for the nose.
Tumblr media
Then I start sketching the forehead and the arch of the nose. You want to go a bit inverted for the forehead before you start the arch of the nose, like make it a bit curved.
Tumblr media
The next step isn’t really important, it for some reason just helps me, but I put a second circle within the nose circle, it might just be part of my style but it helps me as a guideline so idk:
Tumblr media
Then I connect the nose to the forehead, right now I’m doing a little slope for a button nose (if you’re doing a hook nose you may want to end the forehead a bit sooner so you have more room, or put the circle of the nose more downwards)
Tumblr media
Next I do another little guideline for the lips and eventually the chin, it’s pretty much a curved line from the nose to the face guideline
Tumblr media
Then I do circles for the lips, following the guideline so that the lips curve towards where the chin will be
Tumblr media
Then I draw the lips. For the chin, you want to make it pop out a bit, you can even draw a third circle guideline if you want (I didn’t)
Tumblr media
Then you can draw the rest of the jaw, I made this person have quite the carved jawline! Also draw a guideline for the ear.
Tumblr media
Ok I need to continue this in a reblog, I reached my photo limit ➡️

KOTLC Characters Touch-Starve Ratings
….eh.
Sophie: No, not really. Has enough affection for her sanity, but still does need a good hug every now and then.
Keefe: Surprisingly, not as touch-starved as you think he is. Has enough comfort from Sophie, Elwin, and some others to live a little. A little.
Fitz: Nope. He’s all good! Got nice parents for hugs, great friends for comfort, he’s got it pretty nice. But sometimes, things get so tough he craves a good hug.
Biana: Same as her brother. But sometimes with her scars, she feels…. More alone? And requires a big hug.
Tam: 100% touch-starved. Hasn’t had a freaking hug in over 10 years. He’s literally forgotten what being hugged or just freaking touched is like. Can’t remember. Someone give him a hug. Now.
Linh: Touch-starve ratings is surprisingly a lot like Keefe’s. Has good friends like Marella to help her. But still is totally touch- starved.
Dex: Kinda touch-starved. I mean, he’s the oldest of 4, so what do you expect? And the others are the triplets, so… He doesn’t really get much time with people, since he’s always busy.
Marella: Sorta. I mean, it’s hard to get parent comfort hugs when one is kinda… yeah, and the other is also… yeah. And she was kinda alone until Sophie came along.
….angst????

Okay, so I recently saw a comment on Pinterest saying something along the lines of “Yeah, but everyone in the Lost Cities likes so Sophie—” in a clearly mocking manner (the post was originally from here and was about how OP didn’t get why the fandom blamed Sophie for breaking Keefe and Fitz’s relationship) and I disagree to some degree.
Recently I started rereading and annotating the whole series and I’m halfway through book one, and I’m beginning to put together exactly what all of the guys saw in her. I mean seriously, when you put it together I can kind of understand why each of them fell for her.
Dex was 100% the first one to fall for her and that was because she was the first friend he ever had. Prior to there first meeting, he was a total outcast. Everybody treated him like crap because his parents were a “bad match”. Then this random girl his age shows up and is constantly talking about how she disagrees with the whole system. Of course he was going to fall for her (regardless of the whole being legally cousins thing I guess?). But seriously, I can understand why he fell for her. She was the first person to take him seriously and treat him like a normal person, and she was more then willing to keep his technopathy a secret if it kept him happy. For awhile, in his eyes at least, she was the only person who looked at him as something more. Although I’ll always ship him and Biana because of there enemies to lovers nerd boy x popular girl vibes.
Fitz is slightly harder for me to analyze because I haven’t reread any of the books recently enough to remember any specific moments of him complimenting her except regarding how powerful she is (more on that later). From what I do know with book one at least, is that I don’t think he liked her before Exile. For most of the first book he’s an awkward teenage boy holding her at arms length because he perceives her as more of a “close” friend, I would say what changes this is the infamous camp fire scene from Exile (again, take that with a grain of salt as I don’t remember many specific details). But regardless, what he likes about her isn’t a trait or a moment, it’s simply a mix of convenience and how arguably impressive he is. I mean, unlike the rest of the fandom I kind of just look at him as a mildly spoiled probably traumatized teenage boy so I don’t carry an obscene amount of hatred for him, but that’s still what I assume he liked about her. I mean seriously, his whole mentality in Flashback (again, take this with a grain of salt and feel free to correct me) is that he’s a Vacker and she’s the Moonlark, so they’d obviously be the perfect match cus there both strong. Then like 99.9 percent of the time his compliments involve how powerful he is. I don’t fault him for these feelings as you can’t control your own feelings, but you can control your actions so like -10 points from Fitz for being an ass to Keefe.
Then, finally, Keefe. I’m trying to be unbiased here but it’s SoKeefe sooooooooooo… yeah. Don’t expect this to be entirely neutral because I’m a former SoFitz shipper turned SoKeefe + Fitz Therapy so I definitely have my own opinions. Anyway, judging by what he says in Stellarlune, we can assume that Keefe was vaguely attracted to her in book one. I realize a lot of people will find that unrealistic, but he was also like 13-14 at the time and as a fellow teenager I know people who meet someone for a minute and already attracted to them. Not quite a crush yet, but definitely something. I would say probably one of the moments he started to actually fall for was when she encounters Keefe and his dad talking during midterms. Keefe can feel how worried she is about him and how disgusted she is by his father. Sure other people may care, but Sophie was pretty much about to beat Cassius after encounter one. Anyway, after that we know all the cute moments. The flight with Silveny, the window sleepovers, the betrayal at the end of Neverseen, Keefe coming back for her at the peace summit, blah blah blah. There are so many. But this isn’t a SoKeefe post, so I digress, this is about why they like her. And I think Keefe’s is pretty obvious. She’s the calm to his chaos, the serious to his (not so) comedy. While she has her moments of both, usually when Keefe isn’t, for the most part the two of them are opposites. (Regardless of the whole Lodestar Initiative V.S. Project Moonlark thing). They balance each other out and are always there when one needs the other. I mean seriously, look at how they were in Stellarlune. Sophie was basically on the brink of going full blown impulsive anti hero (something usually left for Keefe), meanwhile (from what we know) Keefe was playing this very cautious stay out of trouble sort of game (usually reserved for Sophie) so there positions basically swapped while still balancing each other out in the end.
Anyway, I don’t know how to end this. I just wanted to say it. As I reread this series I’m gonna be posting a lot more because I already have a lot of thoughts. Mostly on how in retrospect most of book one is a lot of set up.
