Steve is in his room doing his homework, as he was doing his homework he was wondering about his boyfriend. He hasn’t seen him all at school today.

He hopes everything is okay. As he was finishing it up, he heard the phone ring down stairs. Steve puts away his papers and quickly gets out of his room.

He gets to the phone just in time. “Hello?” He answers. “Steve it’s max....you have to come to my house please.” She whispers, voice filled with sadness. “What happened max?”

“It’s Billy, just please come.” Steve nods “Okay I’ll be there soon.” After hanging up, he gets on his shoes by the door and gets his keys. When Steve arrives at the house, he knocks and waits for it to open. It was max. “You’re parents aren’t here right?” Once she nods he goes inside the house.

As Steve is looking for Billy, Max says “he’s in the bathroom.” He nods and heads there. The door is shut and he hears sobbing. “Billy? It’s me Steve, what happened?”

The sobbing stops for a second and he hears a sniff. “S-Steve?”

“Yes it’s me okay, Can you open the door?” He ask gently. He hears another sob before he gets an answer. “N-No just go home S-Steve.”

“Billy I wanna help you, please open the door baby.”

“I can’t.”

“Billy I’m getting scared, I have to see what’s wrong so I can help you. Please baby.” There’s a moment of silence before he gets an answer. “O-Okay.” The door cracks open and Steve steps inside.

He is not prepared for what he sees.

Billy is standing there red eyed with tears streaming down his cheeks. He had a bruise on his face and finally his hair was cut off. All those blonde strands were gone. It was a short uneven buzz cut.

“Oh my god....Billy.”

Billy looks away from him in shame and starts sobbing again. “Billy what happened?”

“H-He.....cut it. My father. He t-told me he didn’t l-like t-the way I dressed and m-my hair. He c-called me a f-fagg. I argued back and he got a-angry. So he did this. H-He did this to m-me Steve.” Billy started to sob harder this time.

Steve felt his heart break completely. He went over to the other boy and embraced him. Billy held on to him tight and cried into Steve’s shirt, getting it wet with tears and snot. But Steve didn’t care about that, all he cares about right now is Billy.

Steve rubs his back and whispers comforting words to him. “It’s okay baby, it’s okay, I’m here.” Soon Billy’s sobs were reduced to little hiccups. He cried himself out.

“W-what I’m going t-to do?” Steve kisses his head and strokes the shorten hair. “We’re going to my house. You can stay there as long you need, actually lets get out of this town for while. Stay in a hotel and come back when you’re ready Okay?”

Billy Shyly nods.

Steve feels sad and angry. Sad that his boyfriend is so hurt right now that he can’t let Steve go and angry at that piece of shit excuse of a father who would do this to his own son. Steve wants nothing more then to beat the crap out of this man.

But right now he has to focuse on Billy and getting him safe

After a few months Billy’s hair does grow back. he didn’t have a mullet and it wasn’t too long. It was a mess of curls that suited him.

Right now they were at Steve’s house sitting on the sofa eating pizza and watching some T.V.

“Is everything okay at your house?” Steve ask. Billy nods and puts his head on Steve’s shoulder. “Yeah the last time he beat me I called the police. He’s getting four months.”

“Good.” Steve says. Steve curls a finger around a strand of hair and smiles. “This looks good on you.”

“You think so?”

“Yeah. Billy weather you have short or long hair, or just completely shaved. I’ll always find you beautiful.”

Billly blushes and snuggles close to steve. “Steve?”

“Yes?”

“I love you.”

“I love you too Billy.”
