I love the way you draw Mai, and I was just wondering what inspires your Mai design? (Particularly her garments and makeup)

Hey thank you! As it often happens in my art her design is a mix and match of elements from different cultures, the clothes she’s wearing here are inspired by ming dynasty china, while her hair are done up in a korean braided bun (i think it’s called jjok, and it’s usually worn by married women but oh well she’s married to ty lee so… also the binyeo is of course a dagger in disguise)

i am trying to figure out a “less formal”/more FN look for her, this time inspired by vietnamese traditional clothing.

i think what i always try to keep in mind while drawing Mai in canonverse is that she’s always carrying around a full arsenal of knives, so the fit of her clothes has to reflect that lol, as for the make up it’s mostly made up, i’ve seen the two dots under the eyes a couple of times in modern hanfu models.

💜HALLOWEEN REPOST PT. 2🖤

From what I know only three characters have these skins and the other two are Kuga and Miyo who have a Frankenstein skin and a Gumiho skin respectively. A little detail I noticed is that the skins kinda fit the characters, like Kuga is strong like Frankenstein and Miyo is rather spiritual like a Gumiho. A Dracula-themed skin for Charming Gold fits him so well; the guy is 1,000+ years old absorbing life forces to stay alive and be beautiful.

Since two of those are based on European origins I decided to design DD’s after Korean origins like Miyo’s. From what I’ve researched the Cheonyeo Gwishin is described as having black hair and wearing white funeral clothes. I thought it would fit her because she is a gloomy and vengeful person. It's also a reference to how she had been living unbothered from humanity for almost all of her 1,000+ years old life until Ulcus’ awakening like a ghost. Including the fact that she is a fanon character, so she’s “invisible” to the cast. Although, slightly goofy as its English translation is Korean Virgin Ghost but I’ll just gloss over that.

Her hanbok is definitely not a faithful design but I thought it’d be fine for this one, besides, neither are the official skins anyway. The hair accessories she has are a bow and a hairpin. In modern funeral customs, women wear a white ribbon hairpin. The other one is called a binyeo which is a traditional hairpin used to fix up a woman’s chignon, but it is known as a symbol of marriage. The pink rose on it is part of her backstory with CG where he gave a pink rose when they were kids to show his gratefulness for their friendship. I also thought her mask would be an iconic look for her so I placed it here too. There are 8 flashes of light here and its supposed to represent the emblems of the characters: Bug, Bars, Nyanya, Mong, Giraf, Peng, Empa, and Pikok.

This art piece took me two weeks already! I got to understand my art limits, but also improve my art skills. While it's only a half-body I improved on things like anatomy. The teeth finally look good but I had a whiplash when I realized that the torso is approximately the size of two heads.

I also did the pizza art trend that was on Instagram on the last art slides, but it is extremely subtle though. Thank you for reading!

Top 5 hairstyles, don't have to be on yourself (jeonghan maybe)

i am so boring with my hair so these are top 5 and only hairstyles i do basically 😭 i do put bows and ribbons and use hairpins but i don’t know how to do intricate hairstyles on myself.

1. straight and natural

2. bouncy blow-out with a round brush

3. high top pony = high top pony with a braid

4. slick back bun (low, medium, top i do it all)

5. curled hair + i like to put it in a claw clip so curls fall messy and look a bit romantic around my face

now… JEONGHAN?

1. short dark hair

3. slightly long red hair with side bangs

4. long and straight

She could not stop Alune, no one had that power. "Why aren't you dressed yet? We're going to get mandu ingredients for tonight! And maybe stop for a saju! Look, me and Ezzy got all dolled up!" Alune pulled Ezreal closer to her side, cheeks pressed together as she smiled like a pleased cat, while Ezreal just gave a bashful smile. They were both dressed in pastel green hanboks with varying accessories. Alune sporting a binyeo while Ezreal had gone with a buchae. They both had matching noirgae attached to their goreum.

"We have to prepare to feed our ancestors as well, and we want to get some soda so we can stay up for the first morning of the new year! SO HURRY UP!"

"And we're going to exchange gifts with Yone and Yasuo who are stopping by for a bit before returning home! I hope you prepared your bokjumeoni..."

Aphelios whips around in his chair as his room shakes from the outburst, frozen in his usual position in the chair. Knees up and supporting his bowl of naengmyeon, he was halfway through slurping the noodles when his sister had intervened. And very clearly not wearing his own hanbok. So, the wrath of Alune would be how Aphelios met his fate...

Eyes roll about as he searches for an excuse as to why he wasn't prepared yet, but none seemed strong enough to protect him. Had he really forgotten what day it was? Finishing the food in his mouth, the bowl is gingerly placed on the desk behind him. Every new activity in the planned schedule was like another hit in her relentless attack. And soon pleading hands were raised to her in his surrender. Finally unfolding from his office throne, Aphelios stands as he gives both women an apologetic look.

"Okay, okay! Just give me a minute, then I'll be out." Half communicating and half shooing them both out of his room so he could close the door, his hands are a flurry about him until he finds the doorknob. But before shutting the door in their faces, Aphelios pauses for a moment to properly look between the two. "You both look very pretty." He throws out with a nod, before his hand returns to the handle and closes the door properly; locking in case Alune had any other ideas. Leaning against the door, his hands down his exasperated face. He could have sworn it was any other day. But okay, no time to dwell on it. At the very least his clothes should be put aside at the ready...

A few minutes later Aphelios' door has creaked open, and he comes shuffling out with layers of different blues flowing after him. A long, light blue dapho complimented by the wide sleeves of his deep blue, almost black dopo was all brought together with a purple roped waistband. His durumagi was still to be put on, as well as the face mask held by its ears loops from two fingers. He looks over to Alune sheepishly as he begins to get the overcoat on, unsure if he'll be forgiven even after the new year has begun. In any case, there's going to be a lot of running around and fun, compulsory activities today.

i want to grow my hair out so i can have a bun and put a cute binyeo in it but i can't because then guys will hit on me again. i cut my hair and all the regulars at my job were like "you cut your hair ): why?" and i want so badly to tell them it was so that they'd stop fucking hitting on me, but it's fine! the sentiment is there and it does a decent enough job at warding them off. i specifically remember some guy told me "omg girls with long hair and glasses are just my type haha" and aside from that being hilariously nondescript, it's one of the main things that made me cut my hair off. i can't stand men hitting on me. die
