Why Is There A Scarecrow Here?
Why is there a scarecrow here? This is a garden, not a field,And I want birds to come here,For many seeds this garden yields, So why is there a scarecrow here?Who put it in the back?Once I find that joker,I’ll give them a good whack, Why is there a scarecrow here?Well, it’s doing its job,No birds at my birdtable,No seeds being shoved in gobs, Why is there a scarecrow here?I’ll pluck it from the…

The nature and us
Behind our birdtable
Like usually we had our birdtable behind the window. It was interesting to study theese intending guests behaviours. Most it was great tits and greytits, but sometimes the jays arrives, the handsome and shy but noisy bird. The tits was not the least embarrassed of that we observed them, while the jay was, as all crows, very cautious. If she toticed tha she was observed she disappeared immediately. During wintertime a bullfinch came to the company of birds. This bird seems to be a specialist of pork because mostly of the days she sat on the pork and pick defy we had layed out some seed. Though we put out som hempssed or sunflowerseed she took the pork.  On springtime the new guests arrived, the tits, the jays a and the bullfinch disappeares and insteed other birds arrived like the wagtail, the yellow sparrow and the chaffinch and sometimes another sort of finchs. It was many kilos of rolled oats these birds was eating during the summer because the feed their youngest with food from the birdtable. The wagtail is a bird which eats insects did also changing its foodhabits during the circumstances. It is true that this bird sometimes arrived to the nest with worms or insects, probably because the youngest should know how the meetfodd tastes, but as it was more comfortable to pick the rolled oats beside the nest, so the diet contains the food from the birdtable.
According to our observation the yellow sparrow was the gentliest of them she gave away for the chaffinch (the aggressiv one) but the wagtail pushes the other birds away because she thought that the birdtable was hers and only hers.
When the youngest has become adults the summerbirds disappeared but sometimes some of the birds came to the birdtable to pick some seed.
Then the summerbirds disappeared for good while the tits, jays and even the bullfinch came. Both the summer- and winterguests looked surprised when the food dried up so they could sometimes pick on the window for more food, as if they mentioned that now we want more. The wagtail had in years its nest in our house.
When the wagtail one spring arrived I went out and the bird flyes and sat behind my feets and ogled on me, waggled up and down with its tail, twittered as if the bird wanted to tell me "I am here again".

I keep getting this picture in my head of rick taking morty “on an adventure” but really it’s just a trip to the national aviary and he buys ALL of the merchandise and has the BEST time with the birds while morty just trails behind him with this face 😏

Merry Christmas! This year (for the few gifts I had to get) I mostly managed to avoid buying from big retail stores. For my parents, I made them this bird table. It has a real slate roof and can either hang from a tree or be fixed to a post. My own design. Before it got too dark (and before #stormbella tomorrow), we got it mounted on its post. Immensly satisfying, even though wrapping it was certainly a little challenging! #christmas #homemade #birdtable #garden #diy #diyhero #birdwatching (at Plymouth) https://www.instagram.com/p/CJOl25kLM_Q/?igshid=vi4wpulbgciz

This week I typed every authors’ favourite words “The End” on the first draft of my 12th novel! 🎉
Tumblr media
As always still lots of work to do, but for now it’s two weeks off for a staycation with my family! 🙌🏻
The book will published in Summer 2021 but for now here’s a few clues (in the form of images) to what
‘The Tiny Treasures of Bluebell Wood’ (Already available to pre-order on Amazon!) might be about...

What a productive Bank Holiday Monday! @professorcompressor found a tin of @ronseal.uk garden paint in Bluebell in the shed so I took to the bird table with a brush! I think it makes it look brand new and gives the garden a splash of colour! #ronseal #doeswhatitsaysonthetin #birdtable #birds #blue #garden https://www.instagram.com/p/B-7yRKsjli4/?igshid=160rrb4u3y73w
