Here's my drawing of Ahsoka Tano for my Colour wheel challenge! I based her on the work of @morvalii a wonderful artist who allowed me to model my Ahsoka on their own fanart. It's kind of funny that I have a character I headcanon as bisexual on the last day of Bisexual Visibility Month when I had posted fanart of Sasha Waybright, a canonical bisexual Amphibia character, on the first day of Bisexual Visibility Month.

Moving Day
Tumblr media
Book: Immortal Desires
Pairing: m!Cas x m!Gabe x nb!MC (Luca O'Rinn)
Ratings/Warnings: Mature - swearing, brief mentions of/references to: biphobia, domestic violence, and homelessness
Words: 1.5K
Summary: As Gabriel and Luca help Cas pack up his apartment in preparation to move out, Cas reflects on the person he became there, the people he loves, and how he feels about his identity as a bisexual man.
A/N: So, I've been far too sick to write much at all lately, so I didn't think I'd get a chance to write something specifically for Bisexual Awareness Week. But as things turned out, the next installment of "Snow in Crimson, Starlight in Gold" has a Cas POV scene where he is reflecting on what it means to him to be bisexual and how grateful he is to have Gabe and Luca in his life. So I thought I'd share this excerpt here as a standalone fic! (It can be read as such without needing to read the full longfic, or the full Chapter 36) 💜
Happy Bisexual Awareness Week lovelies! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈

Cas had always hated rain.
Before, when he was still a kid, it’d mean his father had withdrawn to the house, shooed inside by the weather. The drizzle clung to him, an extra layer of irritability slicked on top of an already volatile man. Like a mist of motor oil and gunpowder.
Later, it had meant nights with little sleep, hunched in doorways, or park benches, or, when he was lucky, the cramped space between the men’s shoe store and the thrift shop on 48th. It meant waking with wet shoes and fever sinking into his underfed bones.
Now? Gabriel and Luca warming his apartment with their light and laughter? The rain outside was almost comforting. Homely.
He’d never really thought of himself as being particularly attached to his apartment, but seeing it as it was now, plucked apart around him and gently dismantled by loving hands, Cas saw the echoes of himself spelled out over the years.
The broken, old skateboard he’d bought second-hand when he’d first started going to Crimson Beech High. He'd nearly run Margo over doing kick-flips in the parking lot. She’d shoved him off and snapped it clean in two without ever breaking eye contact, and right then, Cas had known they’d become great friends.
The box of illegal fireworks he’d bought with Rory that one 4th of July weekend. The prick had chased him with a Roman candle, shooting shell after crackling shell of brightly coloured explosion at his ass, cackling like a maniac all the while. Cas had ducked and weaved and laughed his ass off, the vampirism freshly-settled in his cells giving him speed enough to avoid each searing, galaxy burst. The lights had danced against the water over Montworth Bridge; Cas watched on through eyes of silver, knowing he had never seen fireworks even half as beautiful before.
There was a compact of metallic eyeshadow —the first he’d ever bought— far from striking range of his father’s fists and curious about his hitherto quiet and unexplored bisexuality. Nicole Morelli, of all fucking people, had lounged with him in one of the Nexus common rooms and taught him to do a flawless cut-crease.
Cas’s venture into living in an apartment of his own, a place he could fill with stuff of his own, it was an open floor to find out more about himself. Sure, he’d lived in the Nexus in the years immediately after his turning, and he’d gone to ground for a while to let his old self truly die, but he hadn’t ceased to be a Venandi in all the time he’d slept.
The Venandi weekly stipend kept on rolling in. Astoria might be a hard ass at times, but she took damn good care of her kids. Even though he was still leery of relying too heavily on it —old habits die hard and all that— Cas had woken from his years-long slumber to find himself in possession of a damn healthy savings account.
So, he’d done what any young man thrust into sudden means would do, and bought a truly shitty car and paid his first months’ rent for his very own apartment.
Hair band posters. Glam rock and punk on blast. Hot pink eyeliner and fresh piercings that healed as he watched and his first pair of Docs with chains that rattled around his ankles with every swaggering step. Buckles, straps, hardware on every last scrap of clothing he could thrift. Patches and badges and eclectic pieces of fashion like that denim jacket New Kid had creamed their pants over. There was a time before Cas settled on his current aesthetic where his outfits all but screamed his sexuality with a stolen megaphone.
Once, he’d wondered what his old man would say if he could have seen him. He’d promptly decided he didn’t give a shit.
It didn’t matter that his old man didn’t get it. He hated Cas enough already, what did it matter if his son wasn’t straight on top of everything else? Honestly, Cas thought his father would have had less disdain if he’d just come out as gay instead of bi. It seemed to have pissed him off more that his kid was “halfway normal”.
As if Cas had had a girlfriend when he was fourteen, but when they broke up, he just up and decided he liked guys as well.
“Just because”.
Like he’d had a chance to be a “real man”, but he’d up and ruined it by liking guys, too. Because he wanted to act out, be a freak, piss off his old man on purpose.
Cas threw a shirt into a duffel bag with a snarl. Honestly, if his sexuality had been a choice, Cas would have chosen to be bi anyway, for that exact reason. Fucking prick.
He’d gone to Pride for the first time with Val one year, their cheekbones smeared with bi flag glitter, the bomber jacket he wore splattered with vibrant pinks and purples and blues. In the negative space on the back, it bore a giant middle finger.
That was how Cas felt about his bisexuality, sometimes.
He wore it loud, he wore it unapologetic… he wore it shirtless beneath his jacket, save for a harness biting tight across his pecs, and damn but it looked good on him.
He’d hooked up with a guy for the first time, that night. A mutual friend of Val and Remus on coven exchange from Morocco, who he’d gotten to know over shots and several hours grinding at some oversaturated neon club he’d long since forgotten the name of.
Cas swore he was still getting glitter out of his pubes a full year later.
…Totally worth it, though.
Eventually he pulled back from the sheer amount of colour in his wardrobe — it was easier to thrift edgier, streetwear fits in monochrome palettes, and besides, dyeing his hair scratched that particular itch. Now, if he wanted to to wear his sexuality so loud the homophobes choked, he had two fucking flawless boyfriends he could make out with in the middle of the street downtown.
‘What’s got you smirking?’ Luca asked, aiming a kick at his shins as he wandered past to grab the packing tape.
‘Oh, you know.’ Cas shrugged, batting him back with a feral grin. Luca squared up, laughing, bouncing on the balls of his feet. ‘Just thinking about sticking my tongue down your throat.’
‘Do it, coward.’
Luca launched a jab at Cas’s stomach. Cas let it connect, mostly because the butterfly-soft punches Luca threw when they didn’t have vampire blood in their system made him laugh, they were so fucking light. Cas juked to the left, grabbing Luca by the shoulder to tug them into a grapple, the line of their spine warm and fluid against his chest.
‘Keep talking shit and I might!’ Leaning down, Cas grazed his teeth along Luca's neck, nipping sharply, before he pulled them into a kiss.
He loved feeling his boyfriends smile when he kissed them, Cas thought, a satisfied growl warming the back of his throat. It made him want to burn down the world, just to keep them warm.
Cas’s apartment had been a place for him to just be, to become. Choi Taeyong was shoved aside and buried, surfacing only when the nightmares clutched him by the throat and he woke in a cold sweat, thrashing and tangled in his sheets as phantom, uncaring hands wrote the echo of bruises into his skin.
It hadn’t necessarily been a place of healing, Cas supposed, hauling a stack of towels from the storage closet to pad around a framed wall print of a Harley Davidson Gabriel was taking down from the wall. But it had been a place of refuge for him to get to know himself as an adult, with all his scars. Every facet of his identity. A place to find a version of himself he liked.
Gabriel groaned as he eyed the next art piece on the wall. He tugged it down, turning it over in his hands so Cas could read the words on the front of the warped metal.
“Evidence Locker”.
‘Tell me you didn’t steal this from the Sheriff’s Office,’ Gabriel said.
Cas grinned. ‘Alright. “I didn’t steal that from the Sheriff’s Office”.’
‘You’re supposed to tell the truth, not just regurgitate what I say!’
Cas dodged the sign as Gabriel lobbed it at him in exasperation, reaching for him and pulling him into a hug, just because he could.
‘Don’t think you can charm your way out of this,’ Gabriel chided, winding his arms around his waist.
‘I always do,’ Cas said, and bent his head to kiss him. Laughter, sunny and gold, burst against his lips.
Gabriel hummed happily. ‘What was that for?’ he asked. His tone might have been accusing, but Gabriel couldn't keep the smile from his face.
‘Mmm, advance payment for vacuuming later,’ Cas teased, and meant “because I love you”.
‘Menace.’ Chuckling, Gabriel tossed the sign into the trash pile.
Healing would come, Cas knew. And with Gabriel and Luca in his life, especially? He didn’t stand a chance of keeping the fractures in his soul locked up in the dark. Those two motherfuckers poured goodness into everything they touched, made them shine with love.
He’d be no different.

Weird thoughts about my (bi)sexuality
I learned about LGBT as young as 12 y.o. and immediately recognized myself as a bisexual - I had childhood crushes on girls and boys, what else I could've thought about myself? I've been identifying myself with bisexuality for more than 6 years now - except a short period when I was into "political lesbianism" - another topic to discuss, but not today. It makes sense, I had crushes on both women and men, like, have you seen Robert Sean Leonard and Sarah Paulson?? Also I had porn addiction and preferred women, almost exclusively. But, just to mention, I never had serious and long term relationship with anyone (I'm shy).
So, recently I started questioning my bisexuality. What if I just was trained to be attracted to women like Pavlov's dogs? I was exposed to porn and hypersexualization of women at early age, probably even before puberty. My brain unconsciously learned that women = sex and pleasure, if you masturbate on porn that focuses on women's bodies, at some point you start being sexually attracted to women. I think that's what my case is. I don't want to create a family with a woman. Everytime I have crush on a woman, I basically act like my mother (control or be controlled), I don't think it's healthy.
It feels like if I haven't been exposed to porn, I wouldn't be bisexual. I don't deny the fact that some people are actually bisexual, I'm just sharing my own experiences.

At the end of her long and tiring shift, Arundhati went to meet Ethan eagerly, anticipating a chance to unwind and relax.
As she entered his office, she heard Ethan ask his assistant to check if any other work was left for the day.
As Arundhati peeked inside, she noticed Ethan's face light up with a smile, filling the room with warm and welcoming energy.
His assistant noticed his smile and looked at the door, already knowing who it was.
They bid goodnight to the staff on their shifts and headed to Donahues to unwind.
They ordered their usual drinks and went to get seats to enjoy their time together.
While getting to her seat, Aru bumped into someone.
"I'm sorry, I wasn't paying attention. I hope you didn't get hurt......, "Aru trailed as she recognized the person she bumped into.
"Mridula......" Aru paused for a while and felt her throat become dry.
"Hi Aru, how are you? I didn't expect to see you here. It's been so long since we last met!"
"Hey, Mridula..." Aru managed to say after a few seconds, which felt like a lifetime to her.
Fortunately, the drinks she had ordered earlier came to her rescue, and she took a few sips to calm down.
At that point, Ethan's phone rang and displayed a call from his dad.
"Excuse me please, ladies, I'll be back in a moment. I have a call to attend," Ethan mentioned.
"Aru, it's from my dad. I'll speak to him and come back as soon as possible," he said as he went outside to attend his call, away from the songs being played loudly.
"Sure, love, no problem," Aru replied before she continued her conversation with Mridula, "I'm good, thanks. Yeah, I know, it's been way too long. By the way, what brings you here all of a sudden?"
"I was in the area to meet a client, and our meeting ended early, so I decided to come here to wind down."
"That's great, how's your business going?"
"It's going great, thanks, Aru. How about you? How's everything? Do you get along with the leader of the Diagnostic Team?"
"Well, I'm doing great. I have been promoted to the leader of the Diagnostic Team."
"Wow, that's great news! When did it happen?"
"About a year ago, the chief retired, and he appointed Dr. Ethan Ramsey as the chief. Dr. Ramsey then appointed me as the leader of the Diagnostic Team."
"That's great! Congratulations, Aru!"
"Thanks a lot. Why don't you sit down?"
"Sure, so how are you finding the leadership of the DT?"
"Oh, it's been nice, a bit stressful, but I enjoy it as it challenges me and helps me improve."
"That's really cool. I wish you all the success in life."
"Thanks a lot, Mridula, that's extremely kind of you."
"Can I ask a question floating in my mind?"
"Yeah," Aru replied as she sipped her drink.
At that exact moment, Ethan entered inside, searching for Aru, reflecting on his chat with his dad. He heard a question as he made his way through the bar back to Aru.
"Are you dating Dr Ramsey?"
"Yeah, we have been dating for a few months now."
"That's so cute! I remember when you were dying to meet him."
"Yeah, I remember that was a long time ago."
"You had poured over all of his books so many times! You had learned every word of his books. I'm completely sure that you still remember all of it. Does he know this about you?"
"Do I know what about her, miss?" Ethan asked Mridula as he approached the table.
"Oh, sorry, I forgot to introduce you to each other. Mridula, this is Dr. Ethan Ramsey, chief of Edenbrook. Ethan, this is Mridula, a wedding planner and a good friend."
"Nice to meet you, Mridula," Ethan replied as he shook her hand.
"Aru, come on, girl. I have to get going."
"No, no, please sit down for a bit more. I want to catch up with you. Please, Mridula", Aru said while holding her elbow to stop her from leaving.
"Fine, if you say so."
"Aru, you can chat with your friend. I'll get going."
"No, Ethan, please, stay here for some while," Aru said while pouting at him, which she knew he couldn't refuse.
Aru continued her conversation with Mridula while Ethan sat down.
"Mri, what happened to the couple that only got married because their parents found out about them?"
"They stayed married only for about three years. You won't believe it, but they quarrelled so much that their parents had to beg them to get divorced", she giggled while slurping her drink.
"So, Mridula, how do you know Aru?"
"Ethan, I'll be back in a few minutes, okay?" Aru said as she thought of escaping from the problem for a while. Aru started hyperventilating because she dreaded what would happen once Ethan knew about her.
"I should go to the restroom and leave from the back door," Aru thought as she got up.
"Come back soon, my love," Ethan replied.
"We dated for four years when Aru was in medical school and broke up a few weeks after she got into Edenbrook," Mridula continued.
"Oh. It's good to see that you are such good friends even now."
"Yeah, you could say that...," replied Mridula.
"You know, Aru was so obsessed with reading your books that I started feeling jealous of you," Mridula said, trying to change the topic.
Meanwhile, Aru was in the toilet pacing nervously, worried about how Ethan would react. She knew Mridula very well and knew that she would tell Ethan about their relationship. She hadn't come out to him yet and was afraid of his reaction and thoughts about her and their relationship.
However, no matter how she felt about the situation, she knew she couldn't break Ethan's trust by leaving him alone and vanishing.
So, she returned to join them despite the anxiety and discomfort she felt with each step she took toward Ethan.
Meanwhile, Ethan and Mridula were chatting pleasantly, and Aru felt a sense of relief when she saw Ethan as she made her way to him. Seeing him made her feel calm and reduced her anxiety, and she knew that he would support her no matter what.
"Aru, it was fun catching up with you after a long time, but I have to get going now. I have a meeting with a client early tomorrow."
"See you soon, Mridula. I hope we get to meet again soon enough," Aru said, trying her best not to burst into tears.
"Yeah, it was good to meet you," Ethan replied.
Aru tried her best to control her emotions, worried about their relationship and what Ethan would think about her.
When they reached their place, Aru ignored Ethan and went straight to the bathroom to clean up. Despite her best efforts, she started sobbing quite loudly, which caught Ethan's attention.
"Love, what happened, why are you crying?" he asked, to which he got no response.
Concerned about her silence, he asked again, "Aru, can I come inside, please?"
To Ethan's relief, she opened the door, letting him in. His heart sank when he saw her, teary-eyed and trembling.
"Aru, is everything alri-?"
Before Ethan could finish what he was saying, Aru left the bathroom, trying to distance herself from Ethan as much as possible.
"Aru, please, don't do this! Please talk to me. Did I do something wrong, Aru? Are you upset with me? Please, love, I can't see you like this", he begged, not understanding the sudden shift in her behaviour.
At that moment, she realised what a grave mistake she was making. She then let Ethan in, prepared for anything that Ethan had to say.
Ethan rushed to comfort her, unable to understand why her behaviour changed so drastically in such a short amount of time.
"Cry all you want, Aru, but please don't estrange me from you. You know how much it hurts me."
Arundhati, unable to speak, just nodded and hugged Ethan tighter.
After a few minutes of comforting Aru, Ethan decided to make a cup of coffee for her, hoping it would help her relax.
"Do you feel comfortable telling me what happened?"
"E.... Ethan..please promise me you won't leave me."
"Why do you think I would do that?"
"Did Mridula tell you we were dating?"
"Yes, she did...... wait a minute...Aru, did you think I would leave you because of your sexuality?"
"Y.....yes. I didn't know how you would react, Ethan."
"So, you assumed that I would break up with you? You know me well, don't you?"
"Yes...I do. I'm sorry for assuming so, Ethan. Is this going to cause a problem between us?" she whispered, afraid of what was to come.
"Not at all, love. I intend to marry you, you know. Nothing you say would deter me."
"Not even that I'm already married?" she smiled weakly.
"Not even that", he joked back. "In all seriousness, Aru, I love you just the way you are, for who you are and what you do. So, no, your sexuality won't cause a problem between us. You don't have to come out until you feel comfortable," he said before kissing her forehead gently.
Arundhati breathed a sigh of relief.
"I'm so glad. Thanks, Ethan. But I do want to come out to you."
Arundhati took a deep breath to calm her nerves and proclaimed, "I, Arundhati Kulkarni, am bisexual."
She burst into happy tears, realising she could finally stop worrying about not revealing her true self to Ethan.
"I'm glad you feel much better now. Come on, let's get some sleep. You have an early shift tomorrow."
"I'll just clean up and be back."
While cleaning up, Aru could only think about how better the world would be for queer people if everyone was as understanding as Ethan.
As she sunk into her bed, hugged Ethan, and closed her eyes, she silently thanked the universe for Ethan being such a supportive partner.

A quick hasty sketch of Nora & Aneesa (my OC) for Bisexual Awareness Week hosted by the lovely @choicespride (and also I can't draw hands.)
Get yourself a girlfriend who'll talk endlessly for hours and hours on the many interesting cases she's come across, to the point where the hours translate into days and you're so close to screaming but also you're incredibly touched that you're the only person with whom she shares everything
Bonus:
Tumblr media
Aneesa : *cracks the corniest joke* Nora: omg you're the coolest person ever pls marry me thank u.
Headcanons:
Aneesa's Nora's ex-partner. She used to be a small-time fraud trying to pay her dues and the two became good friends during Nora's time at the NYPD. Soon the friendship blossomed into something more, thanks to Aneesa's charisma but equal shyness and Nora's confidence mixed in with her crippling insecurities. They almost become two halves of a whole.
Until.. exactly eleven months later, Aneesa is targeted by a massive crime group that's convinced she's some "key witness" who's got people in the police. They frame her for something she didn't commit and Aneesa's now both on the lam from the crime gang and the law.
Nora helps Aneesa escape the country on a houseboat, en route to Hong Kong as planned, but she never makes it there.
Since Aneesa's on the run, she makes sure to completely erase her history, change her name and run to an entirely different country to throw her chasers off the course. It leaves Nora in the dark for nearly two years.
Later, Nora receives a bittersweet letter that says Aneesa's doing well and fine but she can never talk to her again, because of obvious security reasons and that, Nora worked at the NYPD of all places. Both of them could be tried for a crime, simply because they were trying to escape.
This leads Nora to quit the Force and spend the next six years wallowing in her sorrows.
A/N: This is why I didn't write the "houseboat" fic lol. It was just too angsty and I cried like, five times trying to string coherent sentences and had several mental breakdowns at 3 AM. I'll def write it at some point in the future, for sure! It's still a draft for now.
I really want to tell Aneesa's story and make it into a full-fledged mini series of some kind, and not some one-off one shot, because Aneesa was one of the most important people in Nora's life. If not for her, she wouldn't have had the confidence to be the person she is today and honour her father, rather than convincing herself that she isn't worthy.
Relationships, regardless of one's sexuality, is all about that, in my opinion; to grow and mature as an individual but at the same time, support one another and be a listening ear during some tough times.

I've got a 7+hr drive to fill, so I looked on Libby for a good audiobook to listen to. I'd originally wanted to listen to Bi The Way since it's Bisexuality Awareness Week, but it wasn't available. So I searched "Bisexuality" and scrolled for a while until this caught my eye.
It focuses on two people (both bi) who keep finding each other in every version of their lives.
It is toothachingly sweet. It is angry. It is both too real and too fantastical at the same time. It's the most delectable comfort read for a romantic at odds with the callous ways of the world around them. But it also has a healthy dose of skepticism and bite that gives it both a validating and self-loathing feeling.
If I wasn't driving and had to read the words for myself, I think this book would have me in a puddle of incomprehensible sobs at every turn. 🩷💜🩵
