I know we are still processing the new OP with Kacchan looking at the camera and then him pushing Izuku onward and Izuku looking back (only at Kacchan, a detail a director has said was intentional apparently?!?)

But have yall thought about when at the half season mark, we get another new OP?

Have yall thought about what's going to be in THAT ONE??

I think it's going to be just after or soon after Katsuki actually 💀 and Izuku finds him.

I know the OP at that point will have a lot to do with izuku getting to Tenko (and it should) but there's also gotta be a bit of BBEG AFO and Shigaraki, and some damselfied Kacchan.

I can see there being some bits of symbolism like Kacchan being taken away, hurt, reaching desperately out for Izuku, or vice versa, maybe it'll look like that one cover of Izuku holding Katsuki in his arms?

(To be fair also I think there would be some of badass, Quirk evolved Kacchan rivaling AFO to represent their upcoming fight)(hopefully done so that it's not given away though bc that reveal was insane and I hope we keep that energy in the anime)

Or, maybe there will be a more hopeful note of kacchan emerging and then Izuku and him finally taking each others hand as they take on AFO. (Or both tbh)

They jam pack a lot of things in the OPs, so of course I think AllMight in his suit would be hinted at too, maybe even Stain

And I'm hoping Gentle and La Brava will get a shot.(bc I love them)

And let's not forget about togachako and the Todoroki fam.

Anyway this was starting as a post on how the second OP of this season( is it the last OP of them all?? ) could ruin us Bkdks even more, but it kind of turned into a general wishlist for the OP lol.

Again, though, I am eagerly awaiting what crazy symbolism they have in next OP for bkdk since losing Kacchan is a really big deal and literally causes Izuku to fly into another rage probably half way through the season, if the timing is looking correct. So it'd be fitting if they inject some of that emotion into the OP.

I just thought of Izuku immediately shooting up in the hero rankings like a week after he becomes an active pro-hero again because everyone is so happy that he's back and Katsuki wants to be annoyed that Izuku ranked higher than him so quickly like he would've been, once upon a time, but he really can't be because this is what he worked eight years to see, and now he can finally compete with him again. So he sits in his apartment, TV on, watching Izuku try not to stutter his way through his first returning interview with fondness and pride, and thinks it's finally time to put some actual effort into climbing higher on the hero rankings.

(Not that being #1 is his priority anymore. He's just happy that he gets to fight alongside Izuku again, that they can compete with one another as equals, and that they can complete one another like two sides of the same coin. For the rest of their lives.)

the funniest part about coming to mha late, was I knew bkdk was extremely controversial and had seen some of the discourse about from the outside, so when I finally decided to watch it I was shocked to discover just how much of the plot revolved around izuku having a huge crush on kacchan

His behavior was problematic but never once portrayed as romantic at the same time. Katsuki said and did awful abusive things, and he also chose to be better when he was given the chance. If you’re still hung up on chapter 1 Katsuki now then I don’t think you’ve been reading the same story I have.

I can’t speak for everyone, but I’m not shipping Izuku with an irredeemable abuser. I’m shipping him with his most important person. His narrative foil. His childhood friend who made awful mistakes and then made it right when he saw he was wrong. The person Izuku looks up to and strives to emulate, despite their past struggles.

Bakudeku is so good because of how flawed these boys are, and how hard they’ve worked to get over it, and how much they matter to each other after it all

i love bkg and i love bkdk and i shipped them from episode 1 bc i liked the idea of them being a toxic codependent relationship. the redemption arc just made me realize there’s a beautiful healthy relationship there too (and i truly believe that) and that’s what i prefer now bc i have the foundation. but fuck it all i shipped them from the beginning im toxic and i don’t give a fuck i love bakugo katsuki with all of my heart u can pry bkdk from my cold dead hands. there i said it.

I feel like booktok ruined yall. I understand the disappointment when it comes to Tenko rn, I’m disappointed too. But bnha isn’t any of our stories to tell except for Horikoshis. I feel like most of you care more about being right than you care about what might happen next. Yes, these last couple chapters have felt rushed and we haven’t gotten much from Izuku on a lot of things that should be addressed but I don’t think enough people are considering the possibility that it may be intentional.

Deku is an unreliable narrator and we haven’t gotten his introspective on anything for like 200 chapters. Why is everyone so surprised that we’re not getting anything now? He’s literally always been like this and I don’t understand why people think that’ll just change at the drop of a dime. His entire character is supposed to be a parody of what a shonen mc is supposed to be like. ‘Talk-no-jutsu’ doesn’t exactly come easy to him. He has flaws and doesn’t know how to express himself effectively unless he feels like he absolutely has to. I’m glad he’s being thrown back into normalcy because I feel like since he won’t have much to take his mind off of everything, he’ll be forced to address the things he hasn’t yet because the bottled up emotions will just be too much for him.

I’m sure Shigaraki will be addressed again and we might even get a My Villain Academia sub arc/callback.

Also, what’s with people’s obsession with fake outs? Is it really that serious? It’s not like a book where we get to read an entire volume at once, it’s a chapter by chapter manga. We can’t expect someone to come back the very chapter that they seemingly died. Also with Deku’s flashback this chapter, I can’t help but have hope that there was more to their conversation than what was shown.

Why do I feel like I’m the only person that has a little faith left in hori? This story isn’t here for us to grade…

So I remember talking to this person and she was basically saying “If it takes Bakugou dying to redeem himself then he’s done too much.” But it doesn’t take Bakugou dying this is just who he is… am I wrong?

i wouldn't take any bakugou anti's argument to heart. the fact of the matter is that bakugou was a childhood bully who grew up and bettered himself. it's like, one of the tamest, most normal redemption arcs ever. he didn't even have to die to complete it, he's just that devoted to deku. which in itself should say enough about his development

Truly the teenage boy, shonen deuteragonist, love interest coded, gay asshole, of all time.

My first impression - Woah I did not understand why people were so into this guy. Like I get it, he's a flawed and loud pretty boy, he gets character development, and probably gay, but seriously him??? His mouth is so fucking foul and he is so up his ass. - I was meh with this character, enjoyed him in fan content, but just did not get why people were sooo into this guy.

My impression now - I cried in "Light Fades To Rain". Twice. - My god his growth...his will, his persistence, and by god his love for Izuku is so ridiculous and powerful I just cannot help but admire the little shithead. - He is also a lot more to me than I expected, with the whole "foul mouth shit", "high expectations bullshit", "violent urges", and "dedicating your whole life and love to someone you love and admire" and that...that makes me feel quite conflicted.

Favorite thing about that character - The thing about Bakugou is that...you just cannot help but wish you had the same kind of persistence, strength, will, and power that he does. I love how all this is initially so shallow and selfish, then grows to wanting to be a better and truer hero. He really learns and changes and is just an unstoppable force of nature, it's genuinely incredible and beautiful to watch.

Least favorite thing - I wished that the overall writing did go harder in making him stop bad-mouthing people and...everything so much. You can tell he did grow to respect and care for people around him more, but by gods he is sooo bad at communicating his feelings right now. (tbf, he is so fucking young and traumatized) - Also, really please stop hitting people. I get a knee-jerk reaction to that kind of physical violence sometimes ngl.

Favorite line/scene - There are so many. I already mentioned his death in "Light Fades to Rain" so I'll mention a different one - Team Bakugou in Class A vs B was so goddamn good, for being a monumental milestone of his character. How much he trusted his teammates and put himself in danger to save others, winning in the end. No injuries, no failures, truly a perfect beautiful victory. How he also pushes Deku to keep getting better afterwards in his usual constipated-ass language too. Man I just love that battle to death.

Favorite interaction that character has with another - (me pulling out scenes that aren't bkdk centered here hahaha) - I fucking LOVED the Bakugou vs Ochako fight. It made me love Ochako so so much as a kid. I really wished we had a follow-up to that battle, and it genuinely changed my life. - I love how it really shows just how focused and rational he is in battle. How he truly respects his opponents, Ochako in this case, and the sports festival really establishes so much about him.

A character that I wish that character would interact with more - Speaking of which...OCHAKO VS BAKUGO 2 COME ONNNN - There is SO MUCH these two need to talk about. How to save people, who they want to save, who saved them, never underestimating each other, how they changed and grew. I just love these two characters to bits, that's why I need them to FIGHT AND TALK SO BADDDD - Additional: Also Toga (see my post on Toga right before this one lmao), Shoto (because I still don't really get their friendship but its hilarious, and I love Shoto)

Another character from another fandom that reminds me of that character - I legit cannot think of anything here...like for Toga...I am so sorry my brain is blanking T__T - It's hard to be a massive anger-issue filled, victory-focused, die for their lover (twice), amazing chef, all at once, kinda guy...you know?

A headcanon about that character - I am a believer in trans!fem Bakugo in the future. He's so ridiculously angry for some reason, voice always cracking, and just on-edge for some reason. Idk I just think its hilarious and satisfying if he transed his gender in the future and became happier and more comfortable.

An unpopular opinion about that character - Like Toga, he actually isn't possessive. I think he quite well understands and accepts that Izuku is a very loving person that many people are easily drawn to (I mean, he'd be a hypocrite if he didn't understand that). - He is protective instead of possessive. He keeps an eye out for anything and anyone who could possibly actually hurt Izuku, but he doesn't hold him back at all in hanging around with others, and when other people fall for Izuku either. - He is actually quite skinny, and doesn't have the big thick buff guy build. Those go to Izuku and Iida more imo.

Favorite picture - I never really thought of this much??? I love art of him being softer, more solemn, quiet and contemplative even. I guess I'll go pick out some favs right now...

Do you think 8 years was originally the best amount of time they could make the suit? Or did they give Katsuki a prognosis of like 10+ years before a suit could be ready to replicate Dekus powers? And then, to these prodigy scientists, these experts in the support gear technology, these best of the best, katsuki said:

I'm sorry, I've been trying so hard to accept Izuku becoming a UA teacher but I just can't. I love Horikoshi for the happiness he and his story have brought me over the years, but Izuku being a teacher is just bugging me so hard. I know he'd be an incredible teacher, I'm not arguing against that. But beyond the fact that I think Izuku himself would want to at least stay in the hero industry, I don't think there's any chance Katsuki would've let him give up on being a hero.

I think that's why Horikoshi at least made it a point in canon to emphasize that Katsuki especially was behind funding Izuku's hero suit. Because he of all people could not let Deku go. He needed him to be a hero. And I appreciate that we at least see that much in canon. But honestly I think Katsuki would've stepped in sooner than 8 years later and never would have let Izuku give up on being a hero in the first place.

I don't know at what point Izuku gave up on being a pro hero and started looking at other career options, but whenever it happened, I just know he must have spoken to Katsuki about it. Izuku, unreliable narrator that he is, probably fooled even himself into thinking that he's okay with it. That he's blessed to have lived his dream as long as he did. That his time is over. But Katsuki would've shut that shit right down.

Kacchan Bakugou did not watch Izuku spend 10+ years wanting nothing more than to be a hero, while quirkless, just to then watch him give up on being a hero because he lost his quirk. He would've called bullshit on that immediately.

Katsuki knows Izuku intimately. He knows how badly Izuku needs to be a hero. Being quirkless never stopped Izuku from wanting to be a hero before. There's no reason it should stop him now. And he'd say as much. Ain't no way he'd let Izuku give up on being a hero just because he lost OFA.
