one problem i have with cobra kai is that it really didn’t talk enough about demetri’s feelings ab his broken arm. like sam’s trauma from that event was addressed more than his, which i understand because she’s more of a main character, but also his best friend literally broke his arm. and yet nothing really about the healing process, how it felt to get back into karate, if he had any mental blocks, if he was scared of getting into another fight, if he instinctively flinched whenever anyone (eli) reached for that arm…

qrow says that no one wanted him bc he was cursed so realistically there's a non-zero chance that the tribe would have tried to get rid of him, multiple times even, each attempt foiled thanks to raven's semblance, right?

so realistically there's a perfectly good chance that at some point during strq's beacon years, before there has been time for an actual trust to be built between them, qrow could have gotten seriously injured on a mission and despite summer's and / or tai's suggestions of raven running ahead to the nearest town and open a portal there to get qrow help as fast as possible, raven absolutely refuses to leave his side bc that's exactly the kind of situation the tribe would have used as an opportunity to get rid of qrow and there's no chance in hell she's going to take that risk here either, no matter how goody two shoes her new teammates may be.

I know we are still processing the new OP with Kacchan looking at the camera and then him pushing Izuku onward and Izuku looking back (only at Kacchan, a detail a director has said was intentional apparently?!?)

But have yall thought about when at the half season mark, we get another new OP?

I think it's going to be just after or soon after Katsuki actually 💀 and Izuku finds him.

I know the OP at that point will have a lot to do with izuku getting to Tenko (and it should) but there's also gotta be a bit of BBEG AFO and Shigaraki, and some damselfied Kacchan.

I can see there being some bits of symbolism like Kacchan being taken away, hurt, reaching desperately out for Izuku, or vice versa, maybe it'll look like that one cover of Izuku holding Katsuki in his arms?

(To be fair also I think there would be some of badass, Quirk evolved Kacchan rivaling AFO to represent their upcoming fight)(hopefully done so that it's not given away though bc that reveal was insane and I hope we keep that energy in the anime)

Or, maybe there will be a more hopeful note of kacchan emerging and then Izuku and him finally taking each others hand as they take on AFO. (Or both tbh)

They jam pack a lot of things in the OPs, so of course I think AllMight in his suit would be hinted at too, maybe even Stain

And I'm hoping Gentle and La Brava will get a shot.(bc I love them)

And let's not forget about togachako and the Todoroki fam.

Anyway this was starting as a post on how the second OP of this season( is it the last OP of them all?? ) could ruin us Bkdks even more, but it kind of turned into a general wishlist for the OP lol.

Again, though, I am eagerly awaiting what crazy symbolism they have in next OP for bkdk since losing Kacchan is a really big deal and literally causes Izuku to fly into another rage probably half way through the season, if the timing is looking correct. So it'd be fitting if they inject some of that emotion into the OP.

Dazai Birthday Week, Day 4

Aaah I got sick and I couldn't function and now I wrote this in under an hour because I had to participate in @dazaibirthdayweek2024

Prompt: Mentorship

Characters: Dazai and Atsushi (not romantic)

Warnings: Atsushi typical terrible self worth, angst

“I don’t deserve to live, Dazai-san, I don’t, I don’t.”

Dazai’s not suited for this. Anyone else would do a better job than him.

“Why am I even breathing? I shouldn’t be allowed to breathe.” Atsushi is gasping, air not reaching his lungs, hands trembling between both of them where they’re knelt on the ground. 

The half mangled bodies of their targets are being carted out of the warehouse. Police sirens blare, shrill and headache inducing. Dazai has brought them behind the warehouse, to get Atsushi away from the suffocating darkness.  

They’re not dead. They could’ve endured much worse and survived.

“I don’t Dazai-san, I- I- No, Dazai-san, I don’t have permission I can’t, I can’t.”

The enemy ability user’s shield faltered under their attacks, the Agency having overestimated their strength, Atsushi their spearhead as he often is.

What could human flesh do against claws that rip through abilities?

Dazai tries to shush him but to his horror a teary sob wrenches its way out of the boy’s throat.

It was Dazai’s plan, and it’s Dazai’s fault but Atsushi is in no state to see that. There’s blood drying on his hands and words tumbling out his mouth and each one sends a stab at his heart.

Anyone would be better. But Kunikida is out handling the police and no one else came with them. 

Atsushi’s eyes are glazing over and he doesn’t have time. What would ground him? He hasn’t responded to anything Dazai’s said. He’s aware at least that Dazai is here with him. Pain or shouting are out of the question. No, those would only send him spiralling further.

Simple touch?

It’s worth trying. Atsushi does not expect harsh touches from him. He's always leaned into the softer ones, subtle and unconscious like if he acknowledged it the touch would go away. It has him thinking of another boy, dark hair with white tips. Any physical contact they shared were blows and nullifying taps and he was never one for physical affection but that boy would never expect soft touches from him would he? 

Atsushi's hands have found his hair, tugging and digging. His muttering has turned feverish, he's looking down not talking to Dazai anymore. He acts before the boy's completely lost to his head, he can think about everything later.

He coaxes Atsushi's hands away from his hair, letting them clutch onto his own hand. They still shake, tremors he tries to soothe with gentle strokes. He’s crying now, words unable to make it out of his mouth.

“Atsushi-kun,” he chides and his voice sounds so fond he’d feel sick in any other circumstance. He raises his other hand to wipe the tears mingling with the blood on his face. “That’s no way to talk about yourself.”

He leans into the contact but gives no indication of having heard him.

Dazai feels sick. His hands forever stained with blood, cupping his face with such care when his presence alone should be far far away from someone as pure as Atsushi. His blood infected with Mafia Black shouldn’t be so close to the boy’s skin. Someone who cares so much, cries so freely for these people he doesn’t know, who believes he has to prove himself worthy of being alive.

But he’s all that’s here.

“It’s rather silly isn’t it? Being allowed to live. No one dictates that, it’s only what you wish.”

Atsushi shakes his head, again with the same desperation he uttered those terrible words. “But I’m not. Not until I– No no no no, I’m trying, I’m trying why can’t you see why can’t you see?”

And Dazai knows he’s lost him. He’s addressing someone else entirely, grip on Dazai’s hand crushing, eyes looking beyond him.

So he leans against the wall, pulling Atsushi with him to lie against his front. He wraps his arms around him, one hand carding through his hair the other around his torso. 

The shaking has stopped and that counts for something. Though it’s replaced with chest heaving sobs, his face buried in Dazai’s shoulder, hands clutching his trenchcoat.

Anybody else would’ve been better.

He thinks of Akutagwa and he doesn’t know why his thoughts are straying. He never hugged him like this. Showing such vulnerability would be a weakness. Weakness that Dazai would exploit then and there to teach him a lesson. To never forget and never make that mistake again. After all, weakness in the mafia meant death.

The light is kinder. It lets Atsushi break down with no consequence. It lets Dazai be here, to help pick him up later, build him back up.

Dazai holds him just a little tighter.

There’s another shuddering sob from Atsushi and then in a voice so quiet and small it aches, he says, “I want to live.”

“You will,” Dazai vows. “You will Atsushi-kun. You’ll grow old and get wrinkles and back pain, you’ll get married to someone who loves you. I’ll make sure of it.” 

His fingers tighten in the other’s shirt. His words fall on deaf ears.

Atsushi’s cries die out. He falls asleep soon after.

Kunikida finds them like that, Dazai’s gaze dark, nose buried in the boy’s hair.

Anybody would’ve been better.

Wait so about the rlgl au, do the boys know about the rule that staff can't interact with the bots? If they don't, do they ever figure out? Do they assume that y/n just doesn't want to talk to them when they avoid them? When do the boys first catch a glimpse of y/n in their workplace? Xhdjsijdisjsjd I'm in love with your big brain aus

Yea they know all the rules and details of contracts for staff and bots, for as much as the staff is not allowed to interact with them they are also not allowed to interact with staff.

Obviously there are situations in which that rule does not apply, like for instance, only hypotheticly, a fire... then all rules are lifted to ensure the safety of everyone cough mostly just the extreamly wealthy customers, secondly the staff. The bots can be easily replaced by newer modles so they are not prioritized cough

So yea if they knew that Y/N is part of the staff they would understand why they keep a distance and either leave them alone or do their best to cover up that they know eachother, depending on how far along their relstionship is. But Y/N doesn't know that, they do not fully trust Sun and Moon to not rat them out or say/do something incriminating, so they try to keep it a secret from them.

I have a few ideas how the reveal could go... maby ill actually go full on "accidently undercover" mode and make multiple non canon scenarios about how they find out

Since my last Jaune prediction went so well...

I lowkey want the Rusted Knight to just... Talk like a jaded, tired adult. Like how Ozpin or Ironwood would say "Ruby Rose." Or "Miss Belladonna." Just to show how far he's fallen distance and time changes relationships.

We already see it in e5 and e6. He addreses them more formally and in e6 he starts acting more as a guide than a leader. Like the Rusted Knight knows his age and that he is inherently more experienced than "Team RWBY." Like thats not vomit boy, thats a 30-40something old man who has already guided kids through this hellscape. And it ended terribly. He trusted and got too familiar. I don't think he's going to make that same "mistake" again.

Furthermore, we've already seen characters starting to think like Ironwood. Who is to say if the Rusted Knight hasn't already embraced that ideology?
