As some of you may know I’m an a black queer art student paying for school by myself. My passion for art and creativity lead me to the School of Visual Arts in New York City, which is where I study Cartooning. The school is amazing! I’ve met so many helpful and inspiring people, and I’m finally getting the opportunity to learn so much about an art form that means so much to me.
Comics is a unique form of storytelling. It’s when every panel on a page is its own pocket of illustration, when all of them, woven together, create riveting stories in a visual medium. It’s through my comics that I wish to write stories where marginalized groups are able to see themselves in a more positive light. Where people who are black, LGBT+, or both, can see themselves as heroes. For me, going to this school is one of the first steps to reaching that dream. This coming year is my last year and I’ve never been so close to getting my degree so if anyone can boost or offer help, I would appreciate it!

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this.
I’m really sick of you mongrels saying y’all are black you’re not black. You’re a mutt. There’s a difference. Take your silky hair and get tf out our tags. Hate bitches like you. Lying and erasing us. Partially black is NOT black
It’s the way you hate yourself so much that you took the time out of your busy day of not liking what you see in the mirror to bother me. It’s the way you hate Blackness so much that you don’t give it any credit to be diverse in itself. It’s the way you think that someone has to be other in order to be anything that makes you stop in your tracks and admire it. As much as you pretend to hate what you see, you love it, that’s why you are here. Thanks for the fan mail. It’s pathetic that you had to send it anonymously though… you believe what you say so strongly, but can’t say it with your chest??? Maybe because we both know you are wrong? We both also know you are a coward. You can’t hurt my feelings for the way my hair grows out of my head or the beautiful way my dark Black skin glows. I hope one day you realize that another woman’s beauty is not the absence of your own. But thanks for noticing boo! Xoxo 😘
These are ALL the Black female Oscar winners. Ever. So happy for them, but this is so few Black actresses. Hattie McDaniel, the first Black Oscar winner, won in 1940. Ariana DeBose won most recently in 2022. In 80 years, only ten Black actresses have won Oscars and only one of those women, Halle Berry, won Best Actress?
