Huh...

So...I don't want to jinx it (though making this post is quite possibly going to do just that) but I seem...to be writing a bit of OUAT fanfic again.

Huh.

I've had this partly finished fic (the beginning of it really) based off of an old prompt for an "accidental hug fic" for (checks document history) literally just over four years and now, in the last week-ish I've written almost 900 words.

I don't know if I will continue on to finish it, or if anyone will be interested in any of my stuff when I do...but it seems to be happening...so...yeah.

Hot take, maybe, but if there's a way to do IVF that doesn't result in spare embryos getting destroyed without a chance to be used in viable pregnancies, then I'm at a point to where I just...don't really see an issue with it? It's weird to me that we're worried about dropping fertility rates and trying to urge more couples to embrace parenthood and have babies, but when it comes to infertile couples desperately wanting to get pregnant, all of a sudden it's, "Well you're not ENTITLED to having a baby!" and, "How selfish! You should be looking into adoption instead!" and, "Children aren't a commodity for you to buy!" and, "I think it's God's will for you to be barren! Have joy and embrace it!" (That last one especially makes my blood boil, because who are you to declare what God's will is for someone else?)

I just feel like we can better cultivate a culture of positivity towards childbearing and reproducing and parenthood if we work with infertile couples to help their dreams of having a baby come true in an ethical way, rather than just sneering at women who have trouble getting pregnant and treating them like they're selfish broads for having a very natural desire that everyone else takes for granted.
