So according to a synopsis on the Japanese side of the internet in the Fade to Black novelization they keep the sewer scene but REMOVE how Hanataro was the only person who not only recognized Ichigo's face from somewhere(in the dark!) but also knew that Ichigo was feeling uneasy despite not recalling who he was.

It was probably done to make Ichigo even lonelier but then why even add the sewer scene anyway when it was meant to be like a brief safe zone/checkpoint for him😭😭😭
