hey if you're ever not sad just remember that junao in lb4 when making his lokapala the servants he summoned were thought to be random but william tell confirmed that the three specifically were summoned because the ember of humanity that remained in arjuna was crying out for help and after having lost everything and everyone he loved to pointless wars (which is why junao became an all encompassing god in the first place) the servants he had summoned were not Just asclepius, nehza and william tell. they were a doctor who could bring back the dead, an honorable warrior meant to be a guardian to the gods, and a gentle father who would not give up on his child. they were corrupted through the summon ritual due to limbo but even through that they were still at their core committed to the mission not to serve arjuna but to protect him. limbo specifically when talking about junao described him as innocent and naive. when tell confronts limbo and manages to harm arjuna, he calls out to arjuna not only as a fellow archer but as a father telling a child everything will be okay, your pain was heard, you're not alone, you'll be ok.

arjuna just wanted his family back.

ive said it before and ill say it again; the good place does a way better job with the whole "critiquing the heaven/hell afterlife" system, in ways that have real-world applications, than hazbin hotel does. if this aspect of hazbin sounded thematically cool to you, but ultimately fell kinda flat on its ass, just go watch the good place 👍 saved your life

poor mork getting punished for the crime of being in a hypervigilant state he hasn't dealt with :( like i get it yadda yadda the conventions of the form but idk i'd have liked to see a different path taken. day's had a great self acceptance journey (loved the white cane finally making its appearance and being referenced in tandem with day's preoccupation with how people perceive him), and the way he's grown to accept support from others while managing his own independence has been really lovely. but it would have been nice to see mork get his parallel there, to be able to move through some of the steps of healing with others to lean on while he does it, not just being cast out on his own. mork's not really had a problem with independence, he's had a problem with dependence - letting other people take care of him and bear his weight, letting needs be filled by people/things that aren't him or in his control, "my sister killed herself because i didn't answer a call". i would have rather seen him have an equivalent moment to someone clearing rocks from the path in front of him so that he could climb to healing. not just sort of sending him off to a mountain on his own.

GOD that sounds good don’t tempt me with a good time. if I go buy any more tea I think my roommate might legally have to start fining me. here’s our current stash. all of these are mine except for the bigelow ones

Valentino And His Disabilities

Valentino has never had great eyesight in Hell, but the longer he is dead the more his sight deteriorates. He has perfect vision in the dark and is able to read and do other things, but in any form of light, he is essentially blind. When Vox smiles at him with his big, blue teeth, he also gets what he calls Moon Eyes where he is transfixed and cannot stop staring despite not being able to see.

After the stripping of his left antenna, Valentino's hearing went from being able to hear up to 300hz to only 150hz. He is half-deaf, and though he is still capable of hearing better than any human and most other Sinners, he does not hear as well as he used to. When he watches TV he has it turned up loud, and prefers loud music. He has to really strain to hear whispers if they are not relatively close to him. He does hear a static hum when Vox is around and generating it.

Due to the stripped antenna, his sense of smell and taste were also damaged. He has to get his other good antenna in there if he wants to smell something, and he prefers foods that have a heavier scent so he can taste them properly.

even for period typical ableism it still drives me nuts for karen to go oh poor matt how can he deal and get around as if he hasn't been blind most of his life at this point and living on his own by himself as an adult for his entire adult life after college and has also lived in the city his whole life like girl use your damn brain he can get around by himself just fine. good god. like take five seconds to use your brain. literally adult man who lives by himself if nothing else that should tell you he is fine and when he needs assistance has the knowledge and ability to go get it you act as if he can't even walk on the sidewalk by himself. he literally shows up to work by himself. it drives me up the wall sometimes how she sees proof of him functioning fine independently literally witnesses it on the daily and still thinks these things. like again foggy isn't great either bc again the period typical ableism (and just general ableism in the world outside of this period as this is a common attitude of viewing disabled people as helpless and unable to function even if they are people who do live independently (and im not touching on people who do need extra support and caretaking in this context. as this post is about these characters in the context of a story. so im talking about what we see there instead of any truly meaningful nuanced way) but the writing here is like. Particularly this way due to the time) he has a modicum more of understanding that matt is literally a capable grown adult man. literally told karen matt is a big boy who can handle himself and then karen went b-b-but you forget he's blind as if foggy hasn't known him for years of his life and is his best friend like PLEASE SEE HIM AS AN ADULT. I AM GOING TO GO INSANE. PLEASE RESPECT HIM IF YOU LOVE HIM SO DEARLY. AND EVEN IF YOU DIDN'T. JUST RESPECT HIM AS A PERSON!!!!!!
