Hi how are you doing could I request a DBZ x toddler Kirby reader please , maybe the reader comes from space and is a know species of alien, they got on a spaceship by mistake and crash in front of bulmas house, how would the z warriors react to a adorable blob pink alien with a vacuum for huge appetite?
-Bulma didn’t know what to make of you, when you crash landed in her backyard, alerting not only her but the Z-Fighters as well, of a possible unknown threat, as the past few aliens that crashed down to earth haven’t been friendly, at least at first.
-Your ship was small, telling them whatever was inside was small and when the hatch opened and you rolled out, your eyes like swirls as you were dizzy, everyone froze, seeing how tiny, round, and pink you were!
-Bulma thought you were adorable, poking your cheek once you were more coherent and you called up happily in greeting, “Poyo!” and instantly everyone relaxed, seeing that you weren’t a threat.
-Vegeta was a bit grumpy, as he was hoping for someone strong to fight against that wasn’t Goku, while Goku and Gohan were poking your round body with Bulma, making you giggle as they all thought you were cute!
-Goku, somehow, figured out that your name was Y/N, and nobody could bring themselves to question it, as they were worried they wouldn’t be able to understand it.
-After bringing your ship, which was now completely toast, inside, Bulma ordered food for everyone and Goku and Gohan cheered- you weren’t sure why they were cheering but you cheered too, which made Bulma collapse, thinking you were so adorable.
-To the shock of everyone, you were a very big eater, being able to inhale a whole plate of fried chicken, bones and all, with a powerful inhalation ability.
-Most, Goku, Bulma, Gohan, and Vegeta, were able to brush it off pretty easily, as they were all used to being big eaters or being around big eaters, while Krillin, Yamcha, Master Roshi, Chichi, and Tien were all thrown off by it.
-After the meal Vegeta wanted to work it off with a battle and you watched in amazement when both Goku and Vegeta went Super Saiyan, their hair turning golden and spiky and you cheered out, “Poyo!” before you opened your mouth, sucking in and everyone panicked as you inhaled Goku, swallowing him whole.
-What looked exactly like Goku’s hair appeared on your head before you cried out like you were screaming, powering up as energy surrounded you and everyone froze as you went Super Saiyan, as you wanted to do it too.
-After jumping around and playing with Vegeta, who found you difficult as you were small and quite agile, you spat Goku back out, who was completely fine but confused, “What just happened?” they all pointed at you as you called out happily again.
-It seems like the Z-Fighters gained another oddball in their ranks.

I am SO interested in learning about mad scientist Donnie. Do you plan on writing for him? Like his slow decent into madness after Timothy mutates? 👀👀👀
Tumblr media
Oh mi gosh! I can't believe someone is interested in my AU stuff. Thanks for asking!!
Okay, so I will try to make this semi coherent—
*Puts on Yapping glasses*
Mad Scientist Donatello
I thought of Mad Scientist Donatello as I was planning out the arcs for my very self-indulgent OC, Maxine Santos, and the fanfic I'm writing for her. Since I don’t think there is much interest in OC x Cannon, I will likely not post the actual writing— unless I make a drabble just for him— but I can tell you more about him!
More info under the cut, line thingy?
Okay, so one thing that I feel is never properly addressed in the show is the whole Pulverizer/Timothy/Mutagen Man arc. While those 3 episodes are executed masterfully in my opinion and fulfill their narrative purpose, afterward, it's just... abandoned by the show? Everybody just forgets about poor Timothy's existence.
I always thought that was odd and that Timothy's mutation should have a heavier narrative weight on the story, especially on Donatello, since he feels personally responsible for the kid ending up as a blob of acidic mutant goo, so I really like imagining different scenarios for how this would affect Donatello.
The idea is that after some time traveling shenanigans from the Kraang and the turtle's interference, they accidentally create several "bad ending" style timelines for the turtles, each with a different twist, zombie apocalypse, Kraang empire, Footclan!Leonardo, and so on. Since my OC, Maxine, was the one to get caught in the crossfire, Renet— the time master assistant— is the one who requests her help to save those timelines before they become "fixed" and cannot be changed anymore.
In this specific timeline, Timothy actually becomes the second human ally for the turtles— the first being April, of course— because even though they think he is a massive dork, he keeps getting himself into trouble and the turtles have to save his butt every time. But!! Eventually, they create a friendship of sorts, they find out more about Timothy's life, and there's some angst, I haven't decided exactly what yet, but it explains why Timothy is trying to live in fantasy land and play vigilante.
So they have this sorta awkward friendship, and Timothy eventually does start to help out in missions, not physically, but he helps the turtles investigate things that they can't, such as gather intel from other humans, investigate weird stuff happening at the local high-school, and he is a very good gamer, so he controls metalhead before Donnie creates his AI— and he's pretty good at it!
Things are going pretty well for a while until Donatello gets kidnapped by the foot clan, and they're planning on dunking him in a vat of mutagen because evil ninja clan shenanigans.
Despite the other brother's warnings, Timothy follows them because he wants to help Don, things happen, and instead of Donnie getting mutated, Timothy does.
Donatello is overcome with guilt because he is the closest to Timothy, and that's what lays out the groundwork for his madness. He starts obsessing with finding the retromutagen, and every new bad thing that happens keeps pilling up on that until it breaks the cammel's back.
Then Kirby O'Neil gets mutated and April is much meaner about it in this timeline, then they find out Karai is their sister and right after that she gets mutated and tries to kill all of them, she mutates earlier in this timeline, too, btw.
And as if that's not enough pressure on our poor boy Donatello to find the retromutagen no matter what happens, the turtles fail on a mission where the Kraang were trying to use some kind of mutagen infusor on the crust of the earth, and it gets a big part of the city mutated. Leo gets double mutated and goes insane, Master Splinter ends up extremely injured after fighting a mutated Shredder, and April and Raphael are missing. April has been kidnapped by the Kraang, and Raphael has been brainwashed by the foot clan with the brainworm.
SO, at this point, Donatello absolutely loses his shit.
He starts to experiment on Timothy, himself, and his brothers and Master Splinter, because of it, trying to find the retromutagen, but because he doesn't have April's DNA, it's a fruitless task.
Donnie is so far gone down the rabbit hole that he spends long hours down in his lab ranting to Tim about his efforts to find the retromutagen, how he's the only one who can find a cure, his crush on April becomes 10x worse because he's grasping at straws to keep going, Master Splinter has been in a coma ever since his fight with the Shredder and is in no condition to fight even if he woke up, and Leo and Mikey are constantly being experimented on, and can't do anything to save Don from himself. :(
Don is constantly hallucinating April and Tim. His hallucinations for April range from weird self-indulgent and delusional romantic scenarios to her mocking and insulting him for being a mutant, and he believes that if he finds the retromutagen then everything will be alright. His hallucinations for Tim are mostly geared towards friendly banter, with the occasional lashing out when Donatello is going through a particularly bad episode.
Don gets frequent headaches from not eating right, not sleeping right, and the constant experimentation and stress and it's just generally very angsty because I love to put this man through massive amounts of physical and psychological torture :D
Anyways, that's it— thank you so much for asking!!

Know any gaming myths to debunk?
Gaming myths have been around as long as games, from the earliest Sumerian board games to the latest video game for your brand new Nintendo 64. Here are a few popular myths over the years to debunk:
The Royal Game of Ur: According to the weekly cuneiform tablet of Lord Kotaqu VI, the Royal Game of Ur held a secret block that could be accessed by moving a stone left, right, left, and right and up and down several times. This was simply untrue and Kotaqu was executed for his charlatan magic.
Chess: Several early critics of the game of Chess claimed that the game's battlefield strategy emulation inspired violence, despite many studies showing that Chess players like Gandhi were no more likely to go to war than non-Chess players such as Napoleon, except in certain Sid Meier simulations.
Texas Hold-'Em Poker: Many poker players were prone to cheating, especially in the old west. There are claims that card manufacturers such as Bicycle and Hoyle began to include serial numbers and codes, such as letter "L" on the lower left corner of a card so that nobody could claim a 9 was a 6, and so on. Though this has never been proven, many still claim that the L is real.
Pong: In the 1970s, games went electronic and many myths developed about this strange new form of play. The first game, "Pong," was much like table tennis, and some players claimed that one could, with proper timing, pick up the "ball" pixel and throw it on the "roof" of the video screen. This was proven untrue as more people learned how computers worked.
Tomb Raider: As more teenagers played video games, playground rumors such as a "Nude Code" to show the game protagonist naked became popular. Though there is no nude code in Tomb Raider, there is one in Kirby's Dream Land, in which Kirby can appear nude but for shoes by starting the game in normal mode.
Dark Souls: With the complexity of the world of Dark Souls, many rumors and myths were spawned, such as the ability to fast-travel early, a hidden map behind an old fog gate, and even the ability to enter other games by switching discs during a load screen. This last bit was only true in one case, where replacing the game disc with Postal 3 would improve the quality of the Postal game by making it crash irrecoverably.
Super Mario Bros. Wonder: The newest Mario game's "Wonder" mechanics are strange and diverse, leading to many rumors about weird tricks they can result in. While the normal game can turn Mario into a sticky blob, make inanimate pipes crawl like inchworms, or illuminate previously invisible walkways, claims of Wonder effects that make the console explode, save money on your car's extended warranty, or even let you see real people's names and how many days they have left to live have mostly proven false. One Wonder effect that did prove real was a 79 step ladder that lets Mario climb into a developer room. The room didn't have all that much in it, but also, it's everything.

9.🪞 aaaand... 16!📺 For whoever you want... or Tarantillda, idk!!!
9 was already answered here, so let's answer 16 ("If the anime got a reboot or if there was another Kirby TV show, do you have any ideas for episodes that your OC could appear in? What would the plot be and what role would your OC play?"):
Tumblr media
I decided to try to slot Tarantillda (and Zed, for fun) into the anime, since coming up with an entirely new Kirby show canon seemed too big an undertaking lol.
I think, if the anime were continued, it would have been cool to see a Star Warriors resurgence with new heroes, and I think it would make sense for Tarantillda and Zed to end up joining said resistance. But they would have to be introduced properly, first, so check under the cut for some episode run-downs if you're interested! :)
For Tillda's introductory episode ("Flower Power"):
A young woman from another planet arrives in Dreamland seeking her brother, who apparently went missing some time ago. She looks through the whole town and doesn't find him—but, just when she's about to leave Pop Star, trouble appears: it's Flowery Woods, a tree-like demon beast! It begins to take over Dreamland and chokes out the sunlight so that Cappy Town is covered in darkness. Tillda, knowing some plant magic and hopeful that her brother might appear alongside Flowery Woods, sticks around to help.
After the fight, she explains that Dedede isn't the only monarch that has been lured by NME to the side of evil—her homeland, Floralia (which probably works better as another planet entirely in the anime-verse), was turned to a miserable place after their tyrannical queen swore loyalty to Nightmare. Tillda meant to grab her little brother and escape the place, but he was lured away and turned into a demon beast himself, leading Tillda to search planets for signs of Nightmare-sponsored trouble and, hopefully, bring her brother back to the light.
The episode ends with Kirby and friends waving her off, promising they'll keep an eye out for Taranza. (She and Tiff would probably take a shine to each other over the course of the episode, since they both play the role of sharp elder sister to an adventurous little brother in a world full of danger!)
For Zed's introductory episode ("Over the Rainbow"):
Kirby, Tiff, and Tuff are playing in town when they see an unfamiliar feline face pass by. Though the newcomer isn't very talkative, he seems friendly enough—especially to Kirby, who is excited to meet a new friend. Tiff and Tuff, on the other hand, are mildly suspicious, but agree that they should learn more before they interfere—especially after catching a glimpse of a strange, black, blob-like creature with one eye displayed on Zed's portable computer.
Later that day, a blight of Dark Matter (which no one in Dreamland is particularly familiar with) descends upon the townspeople. With the exception of Tiff and Tuff, everyone around Kirby starts turning angry and violent, including Lady Like and Sir Ebrum; when the three protagonists encounter several strange, one-eyed creatures, they remember Zed from earlier in the day and assume he is a demon beast summoned by Dedede to bring the blight upon the town.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Zed is discovered huddled away writing notes about the monster. Tiff and Tuff threaten to attack, but Meta Knight quickly swoops in with exposition. Soon everyone calms down and listens to what Zed has to say—that the darkness over Dreamland can be expelled if the leader of the occupying Dark Matter army, the Swordsman, is defeated.
In reply, Meta Knight mentions that the Star Warriors previously defeated Dark Matter Swordsman using the Rainbow Sword, which has since gone missing; Zed then reveals themself to be in possession of this legendary weapon and offers it to Meta Knight, thinking that this must be the hero that can defeat the Dark Matter Clan yet again—but Meta Knight, who already has Galaxia, insists Kirby take it so that the two can join forces to stop this very powerful threat.
Hence DMS is defeated by Kirby and Meta Knight, leaving its army to flee and Dreamland safe and peaceful once more (much to Dedede and Escargoon's relief—the Dark Matter ended up possessing them, too).
Zed exits without much of a goodbye, let alone an explanation of who they are, where they came from, or why they helped fight against the Dark Matter Clan. Meta Knight is left to ponder aloud that, like Fofa, maybe there are other demon beasts that turned to the good side, for one reason or another.
Afterward...
I suppose Zed and Tillda could meet off-screen and become besties (as they ought to be, in every universe 😌). I don't think they'd be the founders of the New Star Warriors, though, especially considering Tillda has no idea who the "Star Warriors" were. Maybe Knuckle Joe and Sirica would come up with the idea and invite Tillda and Zed to join them?

One of the first sketch dumps I made after I got sucked into Kirby. You can see how rough I was with the first Kirbies in the upper left corner. This dates back to April of 2022.
The Dedede's was me experimenting with what kind of design I wanted to draw in for King Dedede. Since I was introduced to the series with KATFL I was used to club penguin Dedede so playing the older games surprised me a bit. Now I'm more used to the older design from Star Allies/Kirby Triple Deluxe. Although there is def some Smash Bros Dedede in there too. I just love the kimono some people draw Dedede in. It's rad.
The 'me, my husband and our 1561 kids' joke is from another artist here on tumblr that I got inspired by @miniiieevee. Or at least I think it was their comic. It was so long ago I don't remember. I will correct this if I'm wrong. (The blobs are waddle dees, I just got lazy with sketching)
And Kirfluff, I'm a sucker for those two. What more can I say? Still my Kirby OTP (although I feel like that's an incorrect statement because there are a lot of good Kirby ships that I love. I am a multishipper at heart. Kirfluff just inspires me more)

HELLO HI I LIKE YOUR HOW TO BEFRIEND A NODDY GUIDE, I WANNA KNOW MORE ABOUT MORPHO AND MARX'S RELATIONSHIP PLSSS ITS SO INTERESTING
Ohoho little did you know that I am the world's first Marxpho knight shipper GET READY IMMA BOUT TO SCREECH MY AU TO HELL AND BACK
First, we gotta know about who the two death sentences in my au are lol
So first we've got Marx, a noddy (technically demi-god) who inadvertently killed all of the star warriors while he was asleep (they were fighting over him with the dark matter). Marx is basically living a repeat of Kirby, but getting into detail about that would be a spoiler. He's a silly guy that likes food, but doesn't like sleeping because he's scared he won't wake up.
Morpho, on the other hand, is a grim reaper who has a burning hatred of Kirby due to a misunderstanding. She got the job to go after him. Morpho's really spiteful and angry most of the time, but when she calms down she's bubbly and curious (and autistic lol).
After Morpho meets Marx (and inadvertently waking up the entire noddy species), she lets him go and the two don't encounter each other again until the first movie of my au, when Kirby tries to recruit Morpho to track down the big bad. She initially refuses and tries to kill the pink blob, but since Marx had snuck out after Kirby, he had jumped out and got in the way, and his presence ends up convincing Morpho to come along because of her interest in him.
Over the course of the rest of the movie, Marx and Morpho get to know each other better, playing silly pranks on Daroach, eating Galaxia's food and generally chatting. Morpho ends up with a crush on Marx, but she still can't understand why he trusts Kirby. At the end of the first movie, Marx ends up getting put into a coma and Morpho refuses to leave his side the whole time throughout the second movie, even nearly getting herself killed protecting him when the antagonist of the third movie kidnaps the comatose noddy at the end of the second movie.
During the third movie, Morpho ends up forcing Kirby to come with her to get Marx back. During the adventure Kirby informs Morpho about how Marx tried to take over the world, but she doesn't believe him until they find Marx, wake him up, and he confirms it himself. Morpho feels betrayed and runs off to not be seen in the rest of the movie, but they make up in the fourth movie.
During the anime portion of my au, Morpho and Marx officially start dating. It goes great... Until Morpho accidentally uses a multiplication spell on Marx and ends up creating three infant clones of him with weird variations in their DNA. There's a green baby with heavily amplified powers, Clover, a yellow baby that's a girl, Sunny, and a blue baby that almost died first thing, Storm. Morpho feels really bad about the whole incident since it also almost killed Marx too, but everyone's gotten better by the time the fifth movie rolls around.
There's one last detail about them that's important, buuuut it's spoilers lol

Kirby 64 - My Dear Childhood Nostalgia
Kirby 64 and the Crystal Shards is a game I still own for my old 64. It was one of the first Kirby games I ever owned along with Kirby: Nightmare in Dreamland and The Amazing Mirror. I've collected some other Kirby games since then, but these were the three that I have the earliest memories of. I didn't own many games for my 64 at the time, and kinda still don't ^^;, so what few I did have I played a number of times. However, I was just a child then and didn't understand games very well, but I do remember loving this game but had never beaten it (I only got as far as Neo Star Level 1). Especially since I didn't understand how to get many of the shards at the time, lol.
I don't get to play my 64 as much as I used to, and often times am too lazy to set it up. However, I have been playing my switch quite a bit, so when I heard that this game was going to be released for switch online, I finally saw it as my opportunity to finish this childhood game.
(Even if it took me awhile to finally get to it. Oops)
Disclaimer: Spoilers for Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards as well as full disclosure - I did use a guide for some of these shards, especially towards the end when I had to do a lot of back and forth between levels and worlds to get the right ability combinations. I did try to find as many of them as I could on my own, though, and was very happy when I managed to figure them out
However, if my use of guide does not bother you, then please read on, lol.
Tumblr media
Let me get this part out of the way - I still really like this game. Sure, it has it's problems and quirks, but I still had a lot of joy going through the levels, seeing their themes and aesthetics. The music is colorful and cheerful like many Kirby games have, but my favorite has to be the level select music once you get to Ripple Star. Rock star's level music was good, too. There were some level themes that I liked, but they also repeated sometimes, so generally, the music that played during the beach level in Aqua Star as well as Level 1, and wherever else they played, lol.
My favorite planet had to be Shiver Star for the wintry themes as well as the subtle hints of dystopia. Yes, I am aware Shiver Star looks like a frozen over earth, yes, the imagery is disturbing especially when you go from cutesy winter levels and bobsledding with Waddle Dee to corporate machines :). I still liked the levels though. (I actually thought the factory level was a toy shop or something as a child. I have no idea how I could, lol). The runner up is, surprisingly, Pop Star and Ripple Star.
As for the crystal shards themselves, some of these were neat to get, other annoyed me. Particularly, Neo Star and, I believe the third shard on it's second level. Trying to stay alive long enough to get it, especially with both a volatile ability like Rock/Bomb (which has friendly fire) and that one part with both cannons, aqua blobs, and running water that gets in the way. Fuck this shard :). Other than that, second most annoying was Aqua Star's level three where you needed Rock/Cutter to turn into Rick. Again, keeping the ability was a challenge, but also climbing the wall as Rick and being so heavy was a bit of a pain. Fuck this one, too :).
On that note, my main gripe with the game was when you had to backtrack for an ability. No, no. Not backtrack on the level, backtrack to a different planet or level. Also, backtracking in a level is not always possible, so in those cases you have to start the level over instead. How nice. Not as annoying as going to a different level or world, though. They really should have had these be available in the level themselves, and a good chunk are(if not most of them), don't get me wrong, but this really should have been the case for all of them. Restarting a level is bad enough, let alone going to a whole different one. Thankfully, once you collect a shard it's yours. Doesn't matter if you beat a level or not, doesn't matter if you die before finishing the level for the first time, it is saved automatically the moment you collect it which does mitigate some frustration (but only some). Another thing that helps, if a shard is blocked by a colored obstacle, if it is a solid color, you can get it with a combo ability if half of it is the right one. I don't think this will work for all of them, but you can still try it. It has to be a solid color though, not a combo color (solid black(yes) vs black and blue(no)).
The bosses also weren't too bad. Some went on for a little bit, but nothing too frustrating. Some were a bit basic, but I still enjoyed them. Highlights, for me, include PIX and HR-H/HR-E. PIX just stayed with me for years after I first saw it, and HR-H/HR-E just looks really cool, lol. Acro is cute and I did like Whispy as well (sad I had to kill his saplings) since it's a bit different from the usual Whispy fights.
Miracle Matter can go die in a ditch, though. I eventually noticed I could just suck up the sprites it leaves behind and hold onto it to quickly deal with the corresponding element once it popped up, but I hated it's rock form and bomb form so much. Ice was a little annoying but not too bad. Honestly, it took me way more tries to beat this thing than it took on the final boss. 0^2 was not nearly as annoying as this thing, all it took was figuring out how to dodge and aim properly and once I had that I was golden. I died to Miracle Matter no less than eight times while 0^2 only took me about four at most, lol.
All in all, I'm glad I finished this game. I finally got a childhood game off my list (one of many) and I'm satisfied. The mini-games are still fun, if a bit basic to me now, but they have that charm just like the mini-games in Pokemon Stadium. The game as a whole is as charming as I remember it, and, despite my griping, isn't a hard game really. Sure it has some annoyances, but what older game doesn't? This was the first time they tried something much closer to 3D with Kirby, even if it was really 3D (2.5D?). It's as charming as I remember it and for now I can be satisfied with finally finishing it.
(Who knows, maybe I'll finally get around to finishing my original copy, lol)

Kirbtober Day 7: Headcannon
Headcannons about Dream Land’s favorite pass-time:
Avalanche!
Tumblr media
without text and with colors
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It’s going to be a very long post.
Context:
Originally, this was from the Avalanche arc, which was a part of an overly ambitious project about what if I, local Kirby fan and idiot, retold the entire story of Kirby, and took inspiration from every medium of Kirby, and I mean every.
I scrapped the idea of rewriting the entire Kirby story because, first of all, I'm not a writer and, second of all, I don't have that kind of patience.
But oddly enough, I grew so fond of the Avalanche Arc that it became part of my head-cannon.
The Avalanche Arc would’ve taken place before Bandana Dee had his Bandana
Headcannon #1:
Avalanche makes everyone act terribly to one another
There’s no magic or scientific reason behind this
It’s just like playing board games with your family
Tumblr media
Headcannon #2:
There’s a wristwatch version of Avalanche that allows online multiplayer
Tumblr media
The buttons to move your piece are the two blobs on the side and the button in the center is to drop.
Players often use these wristwatches to practice for the competition that happens annually, but recently been changed to triennially due to the Avalanche Competition, causing an increase rate in crime and sabotage pre-competition.
The wristwatch has four modes:
Arcade:
See how long you last
Vs:
Play against another player to see who’s better
Competition:
A mode only available during competition (will be explained later)
Time:
Tells the time
Headcannon #3:
There are two types of Avalanche Competition that are usually hosted:
digital and IRL
Digital is basically your average Kirby Avalanche gameplay
IRL has the same mechanics as Avalanche, where you match the same color blobs together and make combos but with a twist, it takes place in an actual stadium.
Tumblr media
Players use large hooks to rotate and guide the blobs to their preferred spot.
Tumblr media
Player are able to keep reference of where they have placed the blobs by using the Competition mode on their wristwatch as referenced before. Most players bounce on the already stacked blobs to reach the blobs above.
Beginners typically use the ladder.
And some players have the ability to float or fly to reach the blob.
Tumblr media
Like in normal sports, there are more ideal Avalanche players, usually ones who are able to fly or float, but others have figured out ways to get around these shortcomings by using their own skills and abilities.
There are two main type of skills:
Delay Skills:
Skills that stops or slows down the falling of blobs for a few seconds
(Only affects falling blobs)
Destroy Skills:
Skills that destroys already placed blobs
(Only affects blobs that have been placed)
Other rules include:
DON’T SABOTAGE THE OTHER PLAYERS!!!!
You can use a skill only after completing a certain amount of combos (amount depends on how powerful the skill is)
Don’t attempt to move blobs that have already been placed
PLEASE DON’T SABOTAGE THE OTHER PLAYERS!
Headcannon #4:
Some Dream Landers aren’t avid Avalanche enjoyers but usually still tune in to see the blob cam
Tumblr media
Because as much as everyone loves seeing their favorite player succeed, everyone always prefers seeing the loser get (safely) crushed by the piling up blobs and come out as a blobby mess.
Tumblr media
Kirby:
Tumblr media
Rising up the ranks rapidly, it’s Kirby! They do not only have the ability to float, which puts them ahead of most players, they also have not one, not two, but three skills to aid them in the competition!
Skill: (L x W)
Copy Ability:
Allows Kirby to switch from these three copy abilities:
Ice:
Allows Kirby to freeze blobs from falling for a few seconds
Fire:
Allows Kirby to burn and destroy blobs (2 x 4)
Fighting:
Allows Kirby to break boulders and the blobs surrounding it (2 x 2)
Trivia:
Kirby would’ve picked mike as one of their abilities but the competition didn’t allow it
Even though most people brush off Kirby as just being the ideal type of person to play Avalanche due to their ability to float and the many skills they can utilize, their ability to think quickly on their feet is the main reason why they quickly became one of the top players
Kirby is the first player in Dream Land to have three skills
Some Avalanche players (in order of worse to best):
Chilly and Tokkori:
Tumblr media
This tag team may bicker often, but when working towards a common goal, nothing can stand in their way!
Skill:
Freeze!:
Allows Chilly to freeze blobs from falling for a few seconds
Feather Falling:
Allows Tokkori to slow down blobs from falling by grabbing the blob with his hook and letting it fall gently
Trivia:
The main reason why they usually lose is that they often argue and complain that the other one have placed a blob wrong
They have a strong rivalry with the Sun and Moon for best tag team duo
Tokkorri is better at solo Avalanche than Chilly
Meta Knight:
Tumblr media
Even this lone swordsman couldn’t resist the fierce competition of Avalanche! His ability to fly and slash makes him a fearsome foe!
Skill:
Piercing Slash:
Allows Meta Knight to clear an entire row
Down Thrust:
Allows Meta Knight to clear an entire column
Trivia:
Meta Knight quickly became an Avalanche Competition fan favorite due to his mysterious aura and his flashy skills
Meta Knight is extremely bitter about being ranked below King Dedede
Meta Knight’s playing style is heavily inspired by the long reigning Avalanche Champion, only known as ‘The Avalanche King’
King Dedede:
Tumblr media
Make way for the King himself! Ranked second best, this King is a force to be reckoned with! With his trusty tool he’ll destroys anyone who threatens his rank!
Skill:
King Dedede’s Hammer:
Allows King Dedede’s hook to change into the hammer and give the blobs a large bonk (4 x 4)
Triple Dedede Hammer:
Allows King Dedede’s hook to change into a hammer and wack the blobs three times destroying them in the process 3 x (2 x 2)
Trivia:
King Dedede was the number one ranked players for years before someone else took that spot
King Dedede created his hook by himself and this design later inspired Masked Dedede’s hammer
There’s a stadium specifically made for him due to his larger size compared to the average Dream Lander
The Avalanche King:
Tumblr media
After vanishing for years, the Avalanche King finally returns! This mysterious champion may look like your run-of-a-mill Dream Lander, but his skills are nothing to scoff at! His speed and quick-thinking are unmatched, but why did he return?
Skill:
None to destroy blobs or to delay blobs. Only fan-service babyyyyy!
Tumblr media
Trivia:
It’s Bandana Waddle Dee.
In the Avalanche Arc there was a joke about it being very obvious that it was him but somehow no one knows.
He wears a masked because he doesn’t want King Dedede to figure out he’s been slacking off to play Avalanche and that he took King Dedede’s title
The reason why he vanished was because Bandana Dee realized he had a very unhealthy addiction to Avalanche and decided to quit
He returned because Kirby made him relapse
He’s the same waddle dee from the actual Avalanche game (still a head-cannon)
The reason he’s so cracked at Avalanche is because I wanted to foreshadow his ability to to use a spear by paralleling how he uses the hook to play avalanche (This originally was a part of a story like I said before.)
This was also planned to show that even if Bandana Dee isn’t as physically strong as the others, he has the capacity to be smarter and think quicker than his peers, (I know it isn’t cannon (double isn’t cannon because it’s from an alternate universe), but from the Dreamy Gears Light Novel, it was shown that Bandana Dee figured out how to read ancient text faster than Meta Knight, so I like to think he has the ability to work smarter and harder).

tier list of every kirby game i've played which is basically every kirby game anyone cares about
Tumblr media
(future me here, i've changed my mind SSU ranks above forgotten land, can't be bothered to remake the list, just... imagine in your head that SSU is fourth place and FL is fifth)
what's the one joke line everybody says, "I will not be taking criticism"? yeah, anyways unnecessary amount of notes on these under the cut
tried to do the thing some people do with their tier lists where the ones on the left are preferred over the ones on the right, I usually don't bother but this time I did, but looking at it it feels more like some games are moreso equal to me but I can't be bothered to draw some kind of distinction so I dunno whatever
sorting of the final tier:
Unplayed:
Dream Collection
Star Stacker
RTDL (Original)
Tilt N' Tumble (Wanted to, it crashed my emulator)
Epic Yarn (Original)
Avalanche
Fighters Deluxe (Wanted to, couldn't get a functional ROM that worked on my computer, I plan on one day modding my 3DS though)
Drum Dash Deluxe
Team Clash Deluxe
Fighters 2 (Only Switch Kirby I don't own)
Whatever that 3rd Kirby's Adventure is this tier list has
Same with whatever those 2 next to it are
Unfinished:
Dream Course (Only beat 2 levels and realized I didn't like golf)
Pinball Land (Couldn't figure out how the fuck to progress lol)
Air Ride (Only played for a few minutes, I don't really like racing games but may give this game another chance)
Super Clash (A few years ago, can't be bothered to deal with the Candy Crush energy stuff before declaring myself done with the series, may go back to it some day though, also is the first one the same way I don't actually know, if not I'll play it too)
Super Star (Original) (Got super bored and started it for fun recently when I haven't been playing the others lol)
100%ed most of these games, for the ones I didn't:
Did everything in Triple Deluxe and Robobot besides the keychains/stickers respectively
Beat the game, every level, all levels of Dedede Gogogo & Slash & Bead, and got all the level collectibles in Epic Yarn (In normal mode, not Devilish Mode, only did that for one level and never again), assume for all of these I didn't bother with getting the best medals/ranks I only ever did that for Magolor Epilogue where I got all platinums there, and never again in anything else, this one included
Beat the game and got all the diary entries in Rainbow Curse
Beat the main game and got all of the main level medals in Canvas Curse, didn't bother with Rainbow Run or whatever it was called
True ending in 64, didn't bother collecting cards
True ending in DL3, only found out about the hidden minigames after the fact
Pretty sure my NIDL/Adventure saves said 100%, I beat the game, pressed all the buttons and played all the hub world minigames, didn't bother with any of the extra post-game stuff like the EX mode or anything like that, would've played the Meta Knight mode if I knew about it at the time
True ending in DL2, didn't do the bonus chances or find the Girl Blob (The female Gooey)
Beat Squeak Squad and got every treasure, didn't do any of the extra minigames
Only beat Amazing Mirror, navigating the areas pissed me off too much to even get all the collectibles when I usually try to do that
Only got the regular ending of Blowout Blast, did none of the extra levels, figured they would've made me hate the game if I tried to unlock and beat all of them
Beat Battle Royale's story mode, didn't buy all of the things in the store which I think is physically impossible anyways now that the game's servers are down lol
Got to level like 45 or something in Dream Buffet, beat every stage I had unlocked though on the hardest difficulty at least once
Only got the normal ending in Block Ball
Didn't even beat Mass Attack, more on that in a sec but I did beat all of the minigames
the reason both nightmare in dream land and adventure are there and not any of the other older versions of games is because my friend who gave me the idea to do this to myself told me to start with adventure first because it might have stuff different than the remake when my plan was to play the newest version of every game... the remake was exactly the same except different minigames and the bosses were bigger and the graphics obviously
also i technically didn't finish mass attack but i beat world 4 which is close enough, i refuse to fucking get all the rainbow medals just for a boss rush and in fact my save file for it is gone now lol so unless someone specifically sends me an unlock all levels cheat or something i will not
kirby red diamond the hoax game became a whole inside joke with some of my friends and i where we made up a ton of lore for the game lol, like what the plot is, what's in it, why it got cancelled, all that, i'd go into detail because it's super funny but it was actually for a bigger project we're "working on" (haven't touched in months) so idk if we ever finish it i'll go edit this post to have a link or something

THE SOUPENING (11/27/24)
Tumblr media
time for a boy most beautiful and delicious, soup!!! he was lots of fun to design and had a (mostly) natural progression. here is all the concept art i could scrounge up!
at first, all i knew was i wanted to make a character named soup, because it would be funny. i didn't have a whole lot of ideas as far as actual design goes, so it was kind of backwards from my usual process. the first soups were weird:
Tumblr media
i did some weird experimental guys, starting with this... bird? thing? i dunno. i liked the idea of a wobbly and large character that emerges from a pot, and envisioning how it would move (the character being highly animated and fluid, sloshing around and overshooting the comparatively basic and rigid pot). if i had a visual example it would be awesome, but alas i do not, nor do i have the skill to create it. maybe a project some time?
that version didn't have a lot of sticking power. so the next ones were these things:
Tumblr media
more blobs. i was starting to think about how i could build the pot up as a body. the legs and arms came together pretty quickly. i also considered putting him in a can, but that was less interesting (though i did decide that soup can transfer containers, so the can idea isn't totally out the window). alphabet soup is one of my favorite soups, and what i used to refer to my ocs' universe as. i thought it could be fun if the character communicated simple words with the letter noodles, so i held onto that idea for later. i don't really know why they're blobs, they kind of give me adventure time vibes? who knows!
the next iterations became very froggy:
Tumblr media
frogs are my most favorite animals so i'll never turn down an excuse to use one for a new oc! i still wasn't really sure what to do with him shape wise. the left most one looks closest to his final version, but i did play around with some softer shapes too. for his face, i wanted him to look super silly and cute. these guys were his main influence:
Tumblr media
gooey (kirby), ditto (pokemon), and calcifer (howl's moving castle!)
his face is basically ditto's, but he can emote more. gooey is there in spirit and is definitely most akin to soup personality wise. i briefly considered giving soup little eyes like calcifer's (top right), but it didn't look good. i DID end up borrowing the way calcifer's fiery arms look, and rendered soup's legs in a similar style.
Tumblr media
a special boy begins to form... i think it was around here that i had the idea of tying in the boiling frogs apologue, which i feel was a lovely coincidence. it felt perfect- it gave a reason for soup to be a frog, and for his body to be a pot and his legs fire, PLUS a backstory. beautiful... a really lucky happenstance for me lol. when thinking about how he's controlling the body, possessing it felt most accurate. he can kind of control it and use it as his own body, or as just a vehicle (like with his soupy arms hanging out above). that made me think of gundam, so then the mech idea solidified. i gave him a little lid helmet and played with the shapes to make him look... clunky but sort of strong? he is such a weird amalgamation of things. frog, soup, ghost, mech. i love him
Tumblr media
i did most of his next phase at work. i wasn't sure what shape his pot belly should be, so there's a handful of 'em here. those weird crooked bubble 7s in the upper right were attempts at how his soupy limbs might look when extended from himself. it's hard to describe the final look or idea, but ultimately i think the shape of his arms has to be deliberate, concise, and confident. even for apprehensive poses (i think the tests were in the context of soup tentatively poking something). i had the idea of giving him oven mitt hands for his mech because it aided the heavy, robot-esque look. plus, the bare ladles just felt... barren!
Tumblr media
more of the same. i bothered to write down his inspirations, and a couple tries at how his fire legs might work. you can see the deliberate/concise/confident arm shape in the bottom right. it looks better, and if i pushed the expression on his face and body then i think the apprehensive feel would show. but whatever! i also decided his face can slosh around and rotate too, for added silliness.
Tumblr media
couple more digital doodles.
Tumblr media
more beta soups! and a bonus gigan. i did and continue to do a lot of shape studies/explorations wherein i draw the same thing over and over but with different angles, etc. i would change the fins on gigan's back, but that's for some other time :) i might post some of those pages some time.
somewhere in there i decided to steal cook kirby's pot for his body:
Tumblr media
because it is impossible for me to make something without immense kirby influence. that's something i would have been a lot more uppity about when i was younger, but i love openly paying homage to things i love now. no shame!!!
he was basically done at this point, and just needed color. the gold pot was already decided, and a generic brown soup really did just fit the best. i still wanted to use the alphabet soup idea though, so i gave him the ability to eat ingredients to change recipes. formatting a reference sheet was tough, so i ended up divvying it up in two.
Tumblr media
the anatomy of soup image might be my favorite, he looks sooo dumb. i labelled him in a lowkey pretentious way because it was funny, and also because i studied anatomy and physiology in university. you probably can't tell that from my drawings... but it's my favorite subject.
Tumblr media
aaand his final render and reference! i thought making it look like a recipe sheet would be cute. i couldn't find any nice templates to borrow online so i made one up. i found a stir fry brush on the CSP asset shop to make it look more authentic. it was sooo fun to use! here is a link to it: https://assets.clip-studio.com/en-us/detail?id=2011852 i'm trying to get better at letting myself use resources to make my life easier, and because it just gives better results. work smarter not harder and whatever.
it took me a while to figure out how to render him there, particularly with the highlights since he's made of so many shiny materials. it is by no means perfect or accurate, but it gets the job done. i liked the heavy paint brush texture on the pot. i thought about making a custom design for the mitts, but a simple classic one ended up fitting best.
and that's it! i think he took a few weeks from initial concept to final design, maybe a month. i'm really fond of him. i think he's a really fun and weird idea, his backstory is equally goofy, AND he's a frog. i would love to make... some sort of physical item of him, but i'm not sure what. maybe a 3d printed model one day..? in the meantime, he is going into my character design portfolio. i would really love to make something like him for some sort of artistic project one day. time will tell!

anyway, kirby's dream land
-i beat the game in a half hour, extra mode took me only a little longer than that, although extra dedede did give me a little trouble
-no copy abilities isn't that weird, the game was built around it. the air puff attack is also way stronger to help which is nice
-surprisingly good controls for a first attempt, although spitting stars is a little slower than what i'm used to
it's always funny to go back and play the first game of a long-runner. when this came out, kirby wasn't a franchise, he was just a little blob guy. who knew what was to come?
kirby's adventure is next

This time, I re-played Kirby 64--my first and favorite Kirby game! All Crystals, of course
-- I was inspired to re-play this one because it seemed like Princess Peach Showtime would be kind of a PITN to 100%. I thought, BACK IN MY DAY, you could 100% games like Mario 64 and Kirby 64 in like, a weekend. And there were no microtransactions
-- I really like the flavor of this one, and how it tells such a cute story without any dialogue but you still get a sense of what all the characters are about. I don't think they can make another Kirby game quite like this one
-- Remember when they first put it on Switch and he'd freeze if he took damage in underwater stages? I actually found a workaround at the time because I'm a genius, but what a thing to miss! It's fixed now
-- I think in my 2nd Kirby game [Nightmare in Dreamland] I was surprised to see that Waddle Dee were the Goombas of the series, not Kirby's friend. And they apparently evolve into Waddle Doo when they turn evil[?]
-- Oh my goodness, Adeleine painted something that can't be shown [the pixelated blob]. Been there
-- Kirby got a k--s on the ch--k! <3

Sega Saturn - Puyo Puyo SUN
Title: Puyo Puyo SUN / ぷよぷよSUN
Developer/Publisher: Compile
Release date: 14 February 1997
Catalogue No.: T-6603G
Genre: Action Puzzle
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After playing this, I have decided that I don't like what Sega's Sonic Team has done to the classic Compile Puyo Puyo series (I definitely should try out one of the Sonic Team Puyo Puyo games to see whether my opinions change over time). Puyo Puyo Sun is probably the best of all the Puyo Puyo games out there. The number of different options, modes, etc outweighs any other version of Puyo Puyo that I know of (even the "VS Puyo Puyo Sun" bonus game on the Sega Genesis Mini 2 is stripped of all but its co-op local 2-player mode. You can still play that solo, but it gets boring over time).
Puyo Puyo as you know is "that" puzzle game which has you joining different colored blobs to each other in order to perform a chain reaction. You may be thinking "wait a minute, Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean machine on the Mega Drive and Kirby's Ghost Trap (Kirby's Avalanche) on the Super Nintendo are just the same game". To tell the truth, both of them are bastardized American/Western versions of Puyo Puyo and pale very badly in comparison to the Japanese originals by Compile.
As well as being a very addictive action puzzle game, Puyo Puyo Sun is full of humor too that will keep you interested throughout the story section of the game. This Saturn version also includes the original Arcade introduction as well as an all-new animated introduction. (This animated intro is also kept on the Play Station version which was actually published by Sega sometime round 2003).
These cool glow-in-the-dark stickers and very odd Puyo Puyo Underground supplement come free with Puyo Puyo Sun.

1, 23, and 9 for Kirby
Oh this will be fun! I don't know anything about this man.
I mean literally the only game I've played with him is two rounds of smash XD But let's go, let's see how much I know about this funky little pink blob from cultural osmosis
1. My first impression of them
He's cute! Obviously :p I think later I learned that he's also somehow insanely powerful, but nonetheless, he seems cute and like he just wants to live his life with his friends and well, if it takes beating up a monster or two to have that, then so be it
9. Your least favorite outfit of them
He- he has various outfits??
Okay I've browsed the wiki a bit and found this
Tumblr media
Whoever decided to put something on his lower half should've seriously rethought the idea before they finalized this
23. Future headcanon
He might?? Uuuuh get a cat?? Become friends with the knight guy??? I feel like this is the question where it would be helpful to know some Kirby lore XD
Anyway, thank you for the ask! It was fun XD

Chapter 2
Soft chirps could be heard as a family of Birdon dreamt in their nest. Soft trills subconsciously were made by the parents to soothe their young. A sudden gust of wind was cast into a chick’s face stirring it awake for a moment but eventually went back to its dozing state.
Skidding to a halt upon landing in the clearing, Meta Knight felt ashamed as his wings were tucked. The king was already there, along with the accessory adorned dee. Complication after complication happened on his ship. First he awoke behind schedule due to not setting his alarm (and collapsing from exhaustion), then the training between the newest recruits got out of hand and of course as their leader couldn’t allow such insolence to continue. But how could he break it to the king! The astral’s whole reputation may be ruined. He couldn’t even look at them.
He fell to his metaphorical knees in defeat.
“Your majesty, there is no way I can make up for my tardiness. I sincerely hope you could forgive me.”
A snore could be heard.
Oh… they were asleep.
Bandee stretched and nudged his king awake causing him to make a grumbling yawn.
“Finally decided to make an appearance eh masked man?”
“Sire allow me to apologize, I-." Meta started but was cut off.
"Eh don’t worry about it, just glad you got some rest. Now help us move these rocks. We already started but decided to take a nap since we had some extra time.”
Indeed some of the large boulders have been moved, others cleanly cracked apart.
After clearing away the rubble, the purple shard was thankfully still there… until it bursted apart. In a split second both Dedede and Bandee were covered by Meta Knight’s cape.
After returning… two masks were there.
Both a light grayish steel and slashes of gold. Although both crescents one had golden waves, reminiscent of a sun along with other small differences. All the while Galaxia began to vibrate.
“Galaxia, what’s wrong?!” The distressed knight cried out.
“I… I know of them my child. They’re no master crown but are somewhat similar to me. They choose who has their power. Only when true strength is proven can they willingly work with the host and even then the mask must have a connection to the holder in some way.”
This information was relayed with mixed results.
“I’m not so sure about this sir, we just recovered from the Jamba Heart situation.” Bandee noised.
“Well leave it to us then! Me and Meta have been itchin’ for a chance to let loose!” Dedede proudly announced.
“Wait, what?!” Bandee stated shocked.
“All you kiddies have been working too hard. Me and metal head can take care of whatever trials these things have for us. Go off and play with Kirbs or something. Tell the pink blob I said hi.” Dedede said matter of factly.
“B-but great king!”
“No cuts, no buts, no coconuts. Now get out there and have some fun!” The penguin laughed pushing the dee away.
“Yes sir! Oh and one last thing.”
With surprising strength the child pulled the astral towards him.
“You better keep him safe.” He whispered.
“Bye!”
“Your majesty, allow me to consu-“ But before that the royal had already approached the mask.
“Alright, me and my bat winged buddy would like to accept y’all’s challenge.” He proudly announced. Nothing happened.
“Díos mío mi rey, you must be more careful.”
Abruptly the earth began to shake as a tower rose and rose, breaching the clouds.
Behind the bird a sharp inhale could be heard. Dedede didn’t feel the need to turn around, already knowing the tone all too well.
“And I thought I was the rash one when we were younger.” Meta knight said, his glare piercing the monarch he could almost feel it.
Kirby heard a knock on his door and crawled out of bed, putting his night cap on its hanger.
The pink puff opened his door and his eyes immediately lit up.
“Hiya Kirby! I have some extra time today and wanted to ask if we could hang out today?” Bandee asked.
“Of course Bandee! But I just woke up so I’m kinda hungry…” Right on cue the literal bundle of joy’s endless stomach grumbled.
“We could make an apple pie!” Bandee announced as Kirby jumped up and down.
“Alright, I could use some more apples. We can stop by a shop for more supplies!”
So together the kids went off on the smaller than usual quest.
“Preparations must be made. It’s necessary to gather supplies depending on how long this could take. You bring the essentials and I’ll contact my crew.” The knight listed as the king gave him a thumbs up and once again the knight took to the skies.
Upon returning the knight saw… well this was his own fault.
Containers of various foods, cooking supplies, care products, at least some fully needed things and… was that a chess board?
“Before you say anything I already got it all planned out. Now c’mere.” The king stated and once again lifted Meta Knight and reaching for is cape. From then the supplies were thrown in.
“Why must you misuse my prized accessory?”
“It’s not misusing, it’s being smart.” Dedede pointed out.
“Remind me to teach you how to make your own… now are you ready?”
“You bet it!” The king smirked.
