Sorry if you‘ve been asked this before, but since we know you‘re fav lmk characters, I was wondering what you‘re favorite duos and trios were?
And/or however many characters you wanna group together. Just in general, the character dynamics you find neat!
(My guess is that MK and Mei are somewhere on the top of the list- if not THE top)
One of my favorite things about lmk (of which there are many lol), is that you could throw two darts, and whatever two characters the darts land on are bound to have an interesting dynamic.
One of my favorite episodes is the Sandy and Huntsman episode (2x08), Tang and Macaque also have an intriguing conflict in 3x08, and Pigsy and Chang'e (3x07) have such a heartfelt shared passion that you can't help but enjoy their on screen time together.
I'm someone who wants a sort of Ne Zha and Yellowtusk "we reluctantly work together" arc, where even though Yellowtusk may have helped nearly bring the world to it's destruction, he ultimately helped save it, and he also happens to know a thing or too about keeping the Jade Emperor's power contained. I think it'd really fit in with lmk's "past mistakes vs making the right choices now" theme—in all honesty Yellowtusk has already paid his time with an eternity spent in the scroll—and now he can truly help make a better world. I think it'd be a neat way to keep him involved in the story, give Ne Zha someone to bounce off of (they both view power as sacred and a huge responsibility, unlike Wukong for example who is much more flippant with power), and would give some juicy drama ("You would betray your brothers?") between Peng and Yellowtusk later down the line.
Though anon you're 100% right, MK and Mei are at the top of my favorite dynamic list lol (They're whole motivation is to protect each other out of 100% platonic love. Obsessed with them). I'm also really partial for the MK, Mei, and Sandy trio that pops up here and there (1x03, 1x04, 3x04, 3x06). Traffic light trio is a treat, and the sunburst duo has my heart forever and always (I love seeing the way MK and Wukong's relationship has developed over the course of the show, both for the better and worse). Pigsy and Tang are always a delight (thank you 1x04, 2x03, 2x04, 3x05, 4x04, and specifically the line "Sometimes it's that little bit of char that makes for a more flavorful meat! Even if it is a bit tangy."), they're definitely at the top of my list. Obviously I like shadowpeach, and shadowpeach + MK (ooooo the monkeys are such delicious/tragic foils oooo), and I think Mei and Wukong have a really interesting dynamic (Wukong seeing Ao Lie in Mei, Mei viewing Wukong as someone who has hurt MK). Wukong and Azure's dynamic is also super interesting (Azure with his unrequited crush and heartbreak), so is LBD and MK's (could talk forever about these two), however I'll cut this off here since I could probably go on for a long while about this specific topic.
#no one's asked me this before and it wouldn't be a bother if they had!#Sorry I kind of went on a tangent about different dynamics in the show and my Yellowtusk and Ne Zha agenda adsfafs#Come on Mr. "Wukong is not the loner he pretends to be'' see the good in Yellowtusk. Let him help keep the world from breaking.#Do it for me#Am I perhaps a bit too invested in a character that's honestly not had that much screen time? Perhaps#But what we are given is *muah* I love Yellowtusk#''This is not the change we dreamnt of'' lowkey the moral backbone of the brotherhood.#His little ''Azure...no!'' in the s4 special gets me too#He's just like Mei and MK fr fr#Yes. Maybe I DO like characters that would chose the person they care about over the world. What of it?#lmk writers are fucking masters at giving the most characterization with the least amount of screen time#And I'd say they mainly do that through parallels/foils/themes but I'm no expert#You can just usually put together a lot of who a character is and their arc based off how they interact with what's been established#I have a long rant about Pigsy's arc rattling around in my brain that I want to write out at some point#I will say this though: Pigsy being a man of tradition/family (2x04 - 3x07) and then giving him qualms with his family in s4 is. *muah*#Like. The thing that get's him to soften up about Zhu Bajie is learning he worked hard to become someone better#Like DO NOT TOUCH ME. I LOVE THAT PIG MAN GOD#I'm a pigsy stan blog now#Actually I love every single character I'll be real this is just who I am#I just also happen to love MK Mei LBD and Azure a little more than the rest afdasdf#asks#lmk#lego monkie kid#monkie kid#lmk speculation

Every time I see a post making fun of people being afraid to get into comics I think about how when I was first getting into comics I thought it would be fun to read Infinite Crisis because it was a HUGE event and it would give me an idea of what a whole slew of runs and characters were like. I made a post about some panel pretty early into the event (I think it was a build up comic that wasn't even officially part of the Road To Infinite Crisis so EARLY early) and some blog I didn't know made fun of me for not knowing the greater context of the panel I was commenting on. And while I was naively typing up a quick little 'ah sorry I'm new to comics and didn't know that. Thanks for the context!' they had gone through my blog and started doing the same for a bunch of other comics I'd read, and then mocked me for reading IC when I clearly new so little about comics.
Now, obviously, that behavior is ridiculous, and I just blocked them, but it did stick with me. It was one of my earliest interactions with comic fandom and I never forgot it. Most of the people I've intereacted with have been lovely. Even when I have gotten comic cannon wrong corrections are normally very kind. But not all of them are, and the ones who aren't are so vocal about it.
So i actually don't think it's the comics themselves that make getting into comics an unappealing prospect.
#Think about how people have to defend their newness to comics when asking for clarification.#'Help I'm new to coimcs' you shouldn't have to defend that to get an answer actually#I think the people who act like you NEED to be an expert on a character before saying you're a fan are just wrong to be clear#I can be a fan of a character without having read every issue their in ever#You can write a fanfic for a character without knowing their entire history if you want. It's fanfic. The actual authors dont bother#And sometimes you just gotta remind yourself of that#Reading a fan comic with a scenerio that would never happen in canon isn't a sin if it's fun for the people involved.#I've said before that I really like post resurrection fics that focus on Jason and Bruce's relationship because it lets me live vicariously#through jason in having parents who accept me for who i am despite our differences and still loving me#That's pretty explicitly not the relationship they have in cannon and thats fine#I can still look at their relationship and go 'oh damn this has some ingredients to make this scenrio really emotionally satisfying'#Like yeah yeah the concept that comics themselves are gate kept is a little ridiculous when reading comics online is so easy#but how many times have you had a negative experience in a real comic shop#because I know that i have!#How many times have you seen a blog get aggresive about someone being perceived as a non comic reader like thats a slur#I love comics. Obviously because I run ablog where i talk about them all the time.#but I'm not gonna dox someone who only watches the movies or the shows#there are forms of media where I've only consumed the adaptations#So when people say 'you're gate keeping comcis' REALLY think about how you talk about people who haven't read many comics#Becauase as far as I'm concerned if you constantly treat people like shit unless their in your little pre approved circle of#'Actual Comic Readers' then yeah you are gate keeping comics and its fucking weird#mine#No way in hell I'm tagging this as anything lmfaooo#sorry for the rant in the tags I have many feelings about this#not me going off in the tags

the fact that basically all the main girls in naruto are medic nin and literally none of the boys are sucks, but it's so frustrating with ino because it actually makes no sense for her to be the one on her team with medical ninjustsu. like, first off, the nara clan literally make medicine. why would shikamaru not be the obvious choice from that alone? but even outside of that, tactically it makes no sense. ino's abilities often leave her temporarily incapacitated when it's super important for medic nin to be mobile. both her and shikamaru are mid-range fighters so it has nothing to do keeping the medic away from harm. on top of that, she literally already has a job within the team as a sensor nin, so she's already spreading her abilities thin by have 2 specialties that don't synthesize well!!! and arguably her ability to use sensing in battle is more useful, but she can't sense and heal at the same time. and shikamaru can strategize and heal at the same time so... maybe one of her teammates should do some work for once, i'm just saying! she's literally a medic nin because she's a girl and for no other reason, which is why by the end of the series, she's almost never uses those abilities because it never made sense for her to have them in the first place! ugh!

Do you have any advice for someone who wanna start writing but is too scared and don't know where to start
you seem really cool and your writing is truly amazing and I wish you a good day or night!
Hey anon! Firstly- thank you so much for the kind words! I appreciate them immensely, and I wish the same to you :) I'm not the best with advice, but I'll share what I've learned from my time here on Tumblr :3
Under the cut for length :3
Being scared is a completely valid feeling, especially when we're first starting out. Hell- it's still scary some days, and I've been doing this since October 2019 😅
I will say though- that fear gets easier to manage the longer you're doing it. What starts off as anxiety on whether or not people are gonna like your work turns into a feeling of excitement as you get ready to share your creation.
Does it make hitting the post button any easier? Sometimes. Are they're days where I wanna launch myself out a window after I press the post button and run Charlotte from Black Clover style?
Tumblr media
You betcha! :D But when you love doing something, and you wanna do it bad enough, it's so worth it :) I think everyone here has felt those nervous jitters to some degree when we first started out in our little community (or whatever community you ultimately find yourself in), so you're never alone, anon :)
All that being said- there's never any pressure or time frame for when you're ready. Hobbies like writing are meant to be fun and relaxing, so if you know you're not ready to make your debut on Tumblr, you don't have to. When you are ready, you'll know- and you'll be able to hit that post button! All and all- I'm rooting for you, anon! I hope when you are ready to start writing here, you'll have only good times and an absolute blast! (And of course- if you ultimately choose to write for yourself alone and not post it- I hope that your writing journey is a fun one full of things you wanna write and see with your favorite characters and settings! :D)
As for where to start- that's ultimately up to you. I can't tell you how to start it, but I can give you some quick tips (And also- if anyone wants to hop into the replies and share their advice, please feel free to do so!)
1.) Formatting is key. It doesn't have to be anything fancy-shmancy; just be sure to space out paragraphs and use proper punctuation so your work is readable. Don't sweat over the occasional typo- I know my work is always littered with them ajejrajer; and if you ever need help with your writing- don't be afraid to reach out and ask :) There are plenty of us here who'll gladly help you out if you need it!
2.) Don't be afraid to interact with people. I've seen a lot of really cool peeps here in the community, and I can say for the most part we're pretty chill klerjkajkrjk I myself am fairly awkward in DMs but I don't bite unless you want me to (Jokes!...Unless 👀 karkekjlarkjlerkj) Okay but really- the best part about being in a community is having people around you who like similar things you do and to share ideas with. It can be a bit intimidating at times (especially if you're like me and have social anxiety plus you've been a fan of a lot of people prior to making a blog) but it's worth it. I'm truly grateful for the people I've met here in this community- both those who I talk to on a daily basis and those who I might only interact with on occasion :) It's a lot less scary once you get to know everyone here jkaekrjajkr :3
3.)The golden rule: Have fun with it. Highlight it, circle it, put Patrick Star in fishnets on it- this is the golden rule!!! Tumblr is a hellsite that can fall off the face of the planet at any given moment, so we might as well make our time here as fun as possible! :D
Going back to the whole writing for you thing- if there's fandoms you love and want to write for, do it! Is it niche? Write it anyway! Has anyone heard of it? Well, now they have, haven't they? Is there literally no demand for this fandom/character/setting? Well- if you want it, then there's your demand. Don't be afraid to change it up and make your blog/writing whatever feels best. Crack fics, serious fics, a combination of everything in between- whatever you feel like making, I say do it! :D As long as your having fun, that's all that matters!
Ultimately- how you go about your writing journey is your call, anon. I don't know if anything I said today helped, but I'm rooting for you and all the things you'll make. If you ever decide to make your writings public here on Tumblr, let me know- I'll gladly check them out! :D Take your time, have fun, curate your experience and kick some butt, friend!

I wanna talk about Dick Grayson's consistently ignored trauma :D
Really didn't think I'd get this far and this isn't coherent but I just think it's funny (tragic) how a character who is so consistently portrayed to care about his autonomy and identity and is a control freak is constantly put in situations that strip him of that again and again and it's simply brushed over?
As if being mind-controlled after having amnesia and losing all sense of self for over a year (after reestablishing himself after coming back from the "dead" where he was cut off from everyone and everything) wouldn't be a tipping point for him? Knight Terrors is going to casually touch on the fact that Dick's childhood home of Haly's and his parents' deaths have been used against him so much he's basically desensitized and then move on? And that's just the recent stuff.
It's such a disservice to his long history to simply push it all aside and have him continue without any connection to that past. When Donna died, his entire personality shifted. How he lead teams changed. We saw him breakdown/have a panic attack in War Games and need to be saved by Tim. There were ramifications to those traumas. Bring that back. Let Dick process what's happened to him and what he's endured, even in the little things.

The 5-Hour Workday: Time Management Strategies for Efficient Studying
The traditional 9-to-5 workday doesn't always translate seamlessly to student life. Between classes, extracurricular activities, and personal commitments, finding time to study can be a constant struggle. The idea of a 5-hour workday, inspired by forward-thinking companies that prioritize productivity over long hours, presents an intriguing shift in time management.
The premise is simple: Rather than spending countless hours studying inefficiently, students can condense their study time into focused, productive sessions. By adopting this approach, you can make your study hours more impactful and reclaim precious time for other pursuits.
Time Management Strategies for Efficient Studying
Set Clear Goals: Before you start studying, define your objectives. What do you want to accomplish during this study session? Setting clear goals helps you stay focused and on track.
Use the Pomodoro Technique: The Pomodoro Technique involves working in short, focused bursts (typically 25 minutes) followed by a short break. This method can help improve concentration and prevent burnout.
Prioritize Tasks: Identify the most important and time-sensitive tasks, and tackle them first. This ensures that you address your highest-priority assignments during your peak concentration periods.
Eliminate Distractions: Find a quiet, distraction-free space to study. Turn off your phone or use apps designed to block distracting websites and notifications.
Time Blocking: Allocate specific blocks of time for different subjects or tasks. This can help you manage your schedule more effectively and ensure that you give adequate attention to each subject.
Active Learning: Engage actively with the material by taking notes, asking questions, and discussing concepts with peers. Active learning enhances retention and understanding.
Quality Over Quantity: Focus on the quality of your study sessions rather than the quantity of time spent studying. A productive hour of focused study can be more valuable than several hours of distracted effort.
Implementing the 5-Hour Workday for Studying
Now that you have a set of time management strategies at your disposal, let's apply them within the context of the 5-hour workday:
Hour 1: Goal Setting and Planning
Start with a clear understanding of what you want to achieve during your study session.
Review your assignments and prioritize tasks based on deadlines and importance.
Create a study plan for the day, allocating time for each subject or task.
Hours 2-3: Focused Study Session 1
Dive into your first study session with full focus and minimal distractions.
Apply the Pomodoro Technique, working for 25-30 minutes followed by a 5-minute break.
Use active learning techniques like note-taking and summarization to engage with the material.
Hour 4: Short Break and Review
Take a 15-20 minute break to recharge.
Use this time to review and reflect on what you've learned during the first study session.
Stretch, hydrate, and clear your mind before the next session.
Hours 5-6: Focused Study Session 2
Begin your second study session, following the same focused approach as the first.
Apply active learning strategies to enhance comprehension and retention.
Stay committed to the task at hand, knowing that you have a productive schedule.
Hour 7: Wrap-Up and Reflection
As your 5-hour workday concludes, take time to wrap up your study session.
Review your accomplishments and progress toward your goals.
Make note of any questions or areas that require further attention.
The Benefits of the 5-Hour Workday for Studying
Adopting a 5-hour workday approach to studying offers several advantages:
Increased Productivity: Condensing your study time promotes focused, efficient work, reducing the likelihood of procrastination.
Improved Time Management: By setting clear goals and prioritizing tasks, you become a more effective manager of your study time.
Enhanced Work-Life Balance: With a structured study schedule, you can allocate more time to other aspects of your life, including relaxation and leisure.
Incorporating the 5-hour workday into your study routine requires discipline and consistency. Over time, you'll refine your approach and find the balance that works best for you. Monday Study Motivation
It's a brand new week, and we're here to kickstart it with some inspiration and positivity! 🚀
Inspirational Quote of the Day: "Your education is a dress rehearsal for a life that is yours to lead." - Nora Ephron As we dive into another week of student life, remember that your education is not just about exams and assignments; it's a journey of self-discovery, growth, and preparation for the incredible life ahead. 📚 Now, let's delve into the story of a remarkable individual who faced adversity during their student years and emerged stronger than ever.
The Success Story of Oprah Winfrey 🌟
Oprah Winfrey, a household name known for her influential talk show and philanthropic work, faced numerous challenges during her student years that could have derailed her path to success.
Born into poverty in rural Mississippi, Oprah grew up facing economic hardships and a difficult family situation. Despite these obstacles, she developed a passion for learning from an early age. However, her educational journey was far from smooth sailing.
In her teenage years, Oprah attended Nashville East High School, where she faced discrimination and bullying due to her socioeconomic background. She not only dealt with the typical challenges of adolescence but also had to overcome racial prejudice.
Oprah's academic struggles led her to transfer to a different high school, where she joined the speech team. This pivotal moment marked the beginning of her journey towards becoming an exceptional communicator.
Oprah's tenacity and dedication to her studies eventually earned her a scholarship to Tennessee State University. While in college, she continued to face financial difficulties, often wearing dresses made from potato sacks because her family couldn't afford new clothes.
Despite these hardships, Oprah excelled academically and honed her public speaking skills. Little did she know that these experiences would pave the way for her future success.
Her breakthrough came when she landed a job in radio and later transitioned into television broadcasting. Oprah's natural charisma, intelligence, and empathetic nature quickly made her a popular talk show host. In 1986, she launched "The Oprah Winfrey Show," which became a cultural phenomenon, running successfully for 25 years.
Throughout her career, Oprah used her platform to inspire, educate, and uplift millions of viewers. Her journey from a disadvantaged background to one of the most powerful women in media is a testament to the power of perseverance, education, and self-belief.
So, as we start this week, let's draw inspiration from Oprah's story. No matter what challenges you face during your student years, remember that they can be stepping stones toward a brighter future. 💪✨
Whether you're struggling with exams, juggling work and studies, or facing personal obstacles, know that you have the resilience within you to overcome them.
Stay tuned for more tips, facts, and inspiration throughout the week to help you on your academic journey. Remember, you're capable of achieving greatness! 🌟📖
