reasons bluebirds are special to me:

the family of bluebirds I watch every year from my porch brings me so much joy

the “bluebird of happiness” charm given to me when I was 13 in a particularly rough time. I think of that charm and it’s poem often even though I can’t even remember who gave it to me.

being given the nickname “bloubird”/“bloubirdie” when I came out to a very close friend (at the time) and told them I wanted to be called lou

which then led to me using “bloubirdie” as a username/brand on almost all social media

and now, bluebirds are officially the very first bird I’ve worked with and handled in research.

hi anon! i actually had a bit of trouble understanding this at the beginning, but then some people helped me figured it out! first, let’s clear the concept up: a fic feels like cinematic to me when i can clearly picture whatever it’s being described/felt/thought as if i was watching a movie. for me, it doesn’t need to be exceptionally long or detailed, but it must transport me to a different set of mind through the writing, depending on the setting, the characters or the plot of the story itself.

these particular fics make me feel like they could perfectly be adapted, as you eloquently said, into Oscar winning movies. trust me when i say this anon, screenwriters at Hollywood WISH they could write stories like these!!!! i’m telling you, if these fics were adapted into movies, apart from collecting all the awards left and right, there would be box office smashes every week tbh.

i haven’t been able to read as many new fics as i would have liked and definitely not enough for my usual wrap up rec but i still wanted to do some sort of fic rec list for this month - i saw @allwaswell16​ do this and couldn’t help but do it myself!

i wasn’t able to go as in depth for each of them as i would have liked (this is already so late!) but just know that all of these fics are all-time favorites for me and they’re all so incredible!
