Design notes!

Uneven fur lengths due to his chimerism. Most of his coat is sleek and short, especially around his torso, tail, and the length of his face and ears. Much longer, thicker fur grows naturally from his tail-tips, mane, belly, legs, ear fluff, and from the sides of his face.

Polycaudal! I think I was one of the first to come up with this idea, but I could totally be wrong… Means “many-tailed”; very rare, but something that can occur in real cats in real life!

Sectoral heterochromia in both eyes.

Tons of striking, stylized markings. His left ginger tortie leg is styled like a star, while the patch over his eyes is like a circle or an eclipse.

Each of his paws are unique. Hind left has ginger and brown spots; upper left has ginger toes; hind right has a single brown toe; upper right is pure white.

Scarring includes: A slash on his jaw, made by Leafstar on accident while being driven from SkyClan; this is purely headcanon.

I have always been so curious about our white cat's colouring! She's all white except for a pale grey V on her head/face. Would love to know what that's related to/called/what's expressing (maybe one of those wordings is right lol) ☺️

The first kitty is a blue cat (assuming self) with high white spotting! It is probably due to the expression of white spotting on the loci, possibly showing homozygosity with the "ws" gene.

The second one seems to be a black tabby with medium white! I can't tell the type of tabby without a torso shot, but it seems to be a classic tabby. I won't tag it though, as I don't know for sure.

The third one is a black self with medium white spotting! Such a smiley cat :3

we always joked about how massive our gal’s baby daddy must've been, but we've never come to a consensus on what color he could've been to throw these colors out of a (assumed classic?) tabby mom. I was curious if you had any insight? just as a thought experiment if you'd like to, no pressure if not! :>

we took mom (Abbey) and two of her four kittens (Emmie, Zoe) home, so I only have one picture of the newborn potatoes and another of a kitten sibling.

Abbey: (I never realized until now just how few pictures I had of any of them that are like. just standing and from the side.)

tabby (black/brown/white) with thick black down the spine and topline of her tail, thick striping, good sized chunk of white in the neck and chest. short, slick agouti fur

Emmie:

grey and white, solid colors/no striping. very thick, short-medium fur. also dense as a bowling ball lmao.

Zoe:

black and white, solid colors. short fur, black could look brown in certain lighting and might(???) have been a very light striping on the wrists between super dark brown and black, but hard to tell due to health. she had super bad allergies and repeatedly gnawed her fur off of her legs and belly despite having monthly vet visits and many expensive increasingly niche/novel foods for years - she was otherwise healthy, figured the mangey look needed an explanation ;-;

Siblings:

one solid blueish(?) grey (male) and one grey striped medium-length fur (female) iirc

So! You're right about Abbey, she's a black classic tabby with white. (I think i'd call this level of white bicolor, but honestly that's pretty irrelevant.)

Emmie is blue with white, Zoe (seems like this is the day of Zoes) is black with white. (If you hadn't mentioned her fur issues, i'd maybe guess smoke, but in this case it's probably just the effect of the thinner coat.) The faint striping and the brown shades are pretty normal for black cats.

Siblings: solid blue and black or blue tabby. Did both of them have white too?

So what can we say about the parents? They both carry solid and dilution. (Blue is diluted black.) Tabby patterns are unknown. White spotting is undeterminable, with this level homozygotes and heterozygotes are equally possible. The father can have any white spotting from no white to the highest van you've ever seen, or even full white. The female kits are black-based, so the father was black too.

That's unfortunately not much information about the father, sorry. He could have been a black or a blue tabby, or solid black or blue, with or without white.

the dynamic between komao, zabu, and ara is really funny. i think in other shows they might just sideline the friend characters but they really have an awkward 'friend of a friend' dynamic i like. komao isn't really socially aware enough to be mean to ara despite being him being mean to matakara, and zabu is more hostile but puts most of that aside for matakara's sake. it's like your friends scoping out your awful crush lmao

working with how I want to possibly redesign cat!miguel (Reclusestar in the warriors AU), here’s a few quick headshot ideas for em :)

dunno which one I should go with, but I’ve got some notes on each

Original:

Dark blue-grey tortoiseshell with reddish brown markings meant to replicate his most recent suit design. Small, slightly curved up ears with tufts around them that I want to stay in the design regardless of the fur color. A 4 pronged star on his forehead that will also stay true to every other design (supposed to be his leader mark. Usually I like the idea of leader marks either being like.. spots or stripes or something else but a physically inflicted marking not only fits his role better but is also just more visceral and reflects the implied and not so implied cruelty of StarClan in the warrior cats series. For those who don’t know StarClan is like… a holy amalgemation of all of the cats ancestors that went from this mysterious and whymsical force in the first series to unreliable and actually manipulate due to how biased they are.)

— more accurate to his movie design, however, I believe the blue in his suit is meant to be light bouncing off of a black suit. So still isn’t exactly accurate
