In Washington County, Maine, nothing says winter's almost here, more than a flock snow buntings over red blueberry fields. 'Twas the inspiration for this third Maine animals-in-winter-themed seamless pattern design. Planning sets of holiday cards for next year.

Thinking ab how thrawn had to ration his hair gel all those years stranded on peridea. Or maybe the witches helped? Or maybe he traded with locals for the stuff? Or maybe there were reserves for the entire crew of the chimaera and bc the other guys are green dust and don't have hair that needs to be slicked back he used it only himself and it lasted longer? But what if it expired. Does thrawn's hair smell like expired hair gel rn?

OR he kept the last drops of the stuff to be used for his dramatic emergence and has not used it ever since he was purgilled up to this moment?

Thing is, when I got back into making stuff in GIMP, I noticed how it changed my perception of my surroundings; I now go through the world looking for inspiration or mulling over how people achieved certain effects in their art.

So it is not surprising I saw a pattern I really liked 'out in the wild' and my first thought was 'I wonder if I can create something like this in GIMP' - and yes, apparently I can. Which is awesome! So I made some mildly similar patterns.

I combined this with some effects and filters I was trying at the time, and the results were a few patterns I wanted to show/share. They should seemlessly repeat, so in theory one could use them for prints, blog backgrounds, wallpapers etc.

And ideas what other patterns I could make? Lemme know!

My "Fruity" piece coming along. I've got the main stickers completed, now just working on the back doodles, further shading and textures, and maybe some color values. There will be a companion piece with plump letters reading "FRUITY" to make this a diptych. The kiwi's were the hardest to figure out.
