Heute gibt es eine Minestrone. Denken Sie nicht, ich wäre plötzlich Vegetarier geworden. Die Ernährungsform finde ich äußerst schädlich. Wir nehmen heute Pilze, Lauch, Kartoffeln und Karfiol. Karfiol ist der Name für Blumenkohl hier zu Lande. Cavolfiore ist der italienische Name. Den sichtbaren Überschuss an Karfiol entnehme ich und richte den als Salat süß-sauer an. Oooh, I have several!!

For savoury, my favourite snack is probably brie or kabanossi or pitta bread and hummus. Or Nocellara olives WITH the stones in (those ones specifically; other olives are nice but they just don't hit the same) <33 Sometimes ramen noodles but that's when I want something more substantial.

For sweet snacks, either chocolate or croissants. Or cake haha :P

Tonight's concoction in the making!

Basically just fixing a little fried cabbage with plenty of onion, sweet red pepper, and an extremely Swedish take on chorizo that I had to try.

RED PEPPER & CAYENNE"

This reminds me more of a cross between kielbasa and bockwurst with a little chili heat, but it is pretty good stuff. Probably worth trying in some red beans and rice.

But, on that note tonight, I decided to throw some in with the cabbage and some of the Creole seasoning I finally mixed up more of recently. Because I had an urge for cooked cabbage.

To go with that, I was originally thinking of some kind of potatoes. But, I have one good helping of a cheesy asparagus rice casserole to get out of the fridge, and that's also less work. It'll do.

My hunting course is going very well. Today, we went on a group hunt, tommorow its shooting and game diseaes again. Cant wait to get my first rifle. Only thing I'm missing is free time, were doing 12 hour days for two weeks straight without days off. Also, if I ever have to eat Bockwurst again in my life, I'm going to shoot myself

Abenteuer Peene - 5 Tage auf dem Wasser - Juli 2023

Tag 1

Morgens um 4 sind wir in Leipzig gestartet. Es ist Sonntag, die Autobahnen sind leer, wir kommen entspannt in MV an. Abseits von Autobahn und Ostsee zeigt sich das Land von seiner schönsten Seite. Blauer Himmel, lange Alleen, gelbe Weizenfelder mit rotem Mohn und blauen Seen.

Die Kanu- Station in Verchen empfängt uns tiefenentspannt. Was kein Zufall zu sein scheint. An der Station direkt gibt es psychologische Beratung, Stressmanagement und Hypnose.

Wir bekommen unsere Boote, alles erforderliche Packmaterial und alles ist "Na klar. Kein Problem."

In aller Ruhe verladen wir unseren Gepäckstapel. Schon krass, was so in die Boote geht. Wir haben einen 4er und einen 3er Kanadier. Beide Boote lassen sich zu zweit gut fahren.

Wir finden den Eingang zur Peene - und sind erstmal entsetzt. Motorboote. Unzählige. Kleine, große, laute, schnelle, Yachten, Segelschiffe. Das haben wir nicht erwartet. Jede Beschreibung des Peene- Abenteuers suggeriert Ruhe und Stille. Davon ist nichts zu sehen.

Wir kommen nur langsam voran und schieben es auf unsere Erschöpfung. Doch - Nein!!! Als wir an einem Baumstopp mit Schwimmweste ins Wasser springen und uns treiben lassen, geht es tatsächlich in die falsche Richtung! Wir sind fassungslos. Dass die Peene die Fließrichtung manchmal bei Ostwind ändert, haben wir gelesen und es als seltenes Ereignis eingestuft. Jetzt ist es klar. Der Fluss fließt heute rückwärts. Echt jetzt? Heute? Bei kaum spürbaren Wind? Ja.

Nach 8 km sozusagen stromaufwärts halten wir am ersten Wasserwanderrastplatz. Mehr geht heute nicht.

Es ist ein winziger schmaler Streifen. Es gibt kein fließend Wasser. Kein Strom. Ein Plumpsklo und im Dorf einen "Wasserautomaten" an welchem man für Geld Wasser zapfen kann.

Dafür gibt es dann am Abend.... Ein Konzert! Das ganze Dorf strömt herbei um einem Musikerduo zuzuhören. Mit Klappstühlen kommen jung und alt. Die Musiker kommen mit dem Hausfloß angefahren. Es wird ein Imbissstand aufgebaut.

Und so kommen wir zu einem unerwarteten Erlebnis: Abends an der Peene mit Sonnenuntergang, Gitarrenmusik, Bier, Langos, Bockwurst und Schokokuchen! Was für ein Erlebnis!!!
