how do you think Peter finding out Miguel is trans played out?

To be honest I don't think he really makes a huge deal of it, Peter is pretty easygoing and the furthest thing from a bigot (when he's not being written by ego-driven insecure white men, that is.) --as far as direct scenes or scenarios go, it's not something I've ever considered before.

I think he'd be interested in knowing the social/scientific aspects of it in the context of 2099 being a future society, like general questions about transhumanism and advancements in bodyhacking and if people are cool about it decades ahead (probably not, but they're already not cool about it now,) he doesn't know a lot about it himself, but he'd be into hearing it straight from the source. This bitch reads science articles for entertainment and his comfort TV spot is nature documentaries; you can't tell me he wouldn't be a little nerdy about biological customization.

It could be as simple as Miguel patching himself up post-fight in his office when Peter walks in, and he notices that he's got unusual scars on his chest -- or no scars at all, but a heavy bust. Similarly, we already see Miguel injecting himself with mystery serum in a casual setting during the movie - there's an easy scenario here of peter asking what the multiple injections are for (worried it's maybe a diabetes thing and he shouldn't be bringing so much sweet stuff around) and Miguel just tells him its testosterone. I keep thinking of it as a really lowkey information drop tbh LOL Miguel is not the type to do a big coming out scene, if anything he avoids it. And Peter is the type of guy to answer that with a 'oh! huh that's cool' & move on

I am once again reading a dystopian article about how to minmax your productivity by getting the most benefit out of your "mind wandering," time. It opens "Have you ever found yourself thinking about loved ones during a boring meeting?"

"[T]here could be disruptions in learning if a student engages in mind wandering during a lesson that covers exam details."

Well, yes. This is why exam details are posted in unit handbooks, on websites, and on learning platforms. Because it is normal not to be completely focused at every moment of a two hour lecture, or even a 45 minute class. If you are absolutely focused on absorbing the content provided in every minute of an hour period, you're either experiencing an absurd degree of anxiety, or you're the presenter. (Or you have an atypical neurotype, possibly.)

This is constructing a problem out of a non-problem. You don't have to bodyhack your attention span. You don't have to find a way to be distracted ✨ more productively. ✨

I genuinely have started to think that people somehow don't understand that it is very normal to be bored by boring things. Sometimes, people get distracted. Indeed they may even think about their loved ones on company time! Then they return to the boring task and do it anyway because sometimes you have to do boring things to receive greater benefit later or avert problems.

You don't need to "maximise the benefits" (???) or be aware of "the risks" of your mind wandering sometimes??? Please... calm down...

The 12-month number is interesting. It actually means that the kinda ceremonies didn't help her at all.

The last time the movie reached this level was the week of September 17, 2023 - the MotelX Lisbon Film Fest. For reference, slot 7,009 is occupied by Under Siege 2: Dark Territory from 1995. so im starting a blog. this is incredibly gen z of me. think of this as an opening, a thesis of experience.

i often think of pain as something that is operative, that’s inflicted on you by circumstance. but pain can often be something passive,

a void,

a lack of happenstance that drones on, a lack of stimulation. and that’s where i find myself, in this intermittent zone of pain, of emptiness, of deep longing for things i don’t have and can’t have. my feeling body is strong today. there's a sadness like a block. (chani tells me to be positive about my future but that’s not what im feeling in the here and now. i feel this palpable lack. pain finds itself to me in my lack of physical pleasure, which has been ongoing for two months now. a slutty make out at bodyhack, sure, but that’s it.

it’s hard to take ownership over your life and your relationships. it’s hard to be a master of your needs. it requires understanding and that requires knowing. and knowing requires vulnerability and honesty.

what do you do when you love someone but they don’t love you back? or, they do love you, but not in the way that fits into the boundaries you desire. do you take space? the space is painful, though; and what if the space requires that you separate yourself even more from another friends life? a friend you’ve begun to feel alienated from, a chill that’s settled between you with the musk of jealousy?

but what if the words existed that would draw you near the object you desire? but you can’t find the words now, you have no idea what the words are. so you remain silent, and in that silence, you suffer. your silence a sort of lie yet salvation.

Has anybody seen that her movie bodyhackers is now in post production? I know some people said that movie was in pre-production for a while and didn’t think it was happening but what if it did and she was filming recently it? // That was discussed on some blogs before. The director did an interview in 2021 saying they finished that one a few weeks ago. So she was filming that before she did Warrior Nun.
