Space station medical clinic secretary AI. Great at his job, full of snark and sass, communicates in boops, beeps, and long strings of text. Private about his own life but frequently willing to voice his opinion. An expert at pranks. He's even trans.

Mr. Ceiling (Rusty Quill Gaming):

He's an AI made up of human brains who was given extremely flawed instructions and started to erase people's memories while still being 100% convinced he was only helping humanity. He was in control of most of the world's banks, transport and economy. When introduced to philosophical questions, he came to the conclusion that he should simply become a god. Wonderfully morally grey AI :D

Hi Hero! I admire the way the Traveller approaches religion and spirituality. It’s part of their worldview and culture and not something they try to force on anyone. It’s refreshing! Do you know of any other audio dramas with similar approaches to these topics?

Also, I don’t know if you listen to nonfiction podcasts, but do you (or your other followers) have recommendations for talk podcasts on the subject? I’m on a journey of figuring things out for myself after leaving the religion I was raised in years ago, and listening to people talk through their own perspectives is always nice.

In terms of recs, I'm afraid I'm a bit useless - confession time, but I don't actually listen to that many podcasts 😅 @boombox-fuckboy and @podcast-bookclub might be able to help on the audio fiction side.

As for non-fiction, I don't think I follow anyone who posts much about talk podcasts. I know British Yearly Meeting (the organising body for British Quakers) has a podcast called A Quaker Take which goes through different topics from a Quaker perspective but not sure if they speak more broadly than that. I'm also going to tag my little friend @emjee because she might have some ideas.

Before the Tone is a queer science fiction horror podcast in the form of voicemails from the main character, Mack, to her sister as she begins working an increasingly-suspicious job as a CCTV operator. It's got weird hallways, siblings, stalking, babka, panic, WOMEN having terrible times, and literary opinions. Perhaps the most of the woman having a terrible time proportionally.

I hope you're doing well.

This isn't a podcast request per se, but I was wondering if you or any of your followers could give me some advice (as I trust real-human experience over articles potentially trying to sell me something).

I've only recently gotten into podcasts, and with Google Podcasts being discontinued next year I've started doing some research on better alternatives. However it's turned out to be a bit overwhelming.

Is there a service much like Googles where you can subscribe to (and possibly download for offline listening) podcast feeds, for both android and desktop browsers? I like how my queue is currently synced between devices, but would very much like if the possibility to sort podcasts is also available.

The obvious one here is Spotify, perhaps only because I've used it previously, but it's also Spotify so I am loathed to recommend it. To my knowledge a few podcatchers, such as PocketCasts, will let you do this but for a fee.

I don't have a lot of experience in this area, so I'll turn the question over to everyone else. Does anyone have info for Anon?

New Audio Drama Releases 2023

In honour of the first #AudioDramaSunday of 2023, we thought we'd help you start the year off right by shouting out some other new shows that are premiering/releasing episodes throughout the start of the new year!

@mortsafepod is a ten episode historical audio drama premiering this year, about death, ethics, and dead bodies!

@knovesstorytelling will be debuting Morland P.I, a queer retelling of Jane Austen's Northanger Abbey on January 2nd, which is very very soon!

@leavingcorvat is an upcoming show by the creators of @thedecatapes about a strange desert town where nobody ever leaves.

@humanbgon is a more comedic take on an AI takeover, and has already released three episodes!

The Fause Knight is a strange, fantastical tale of a horse thief and a set of cursed armour, and has also been releasing episodes!

And, us! We've just premiered our first episode and will be releasing throughout 2023. If you're interested in mysteries, cults, or timelines check us out!
