Meine Wunschvorstellung für den nächsten Spatort:

Ritualmord. Wir begleiten meistens Pia bei den Ermittlungen, wie sie sich reingräbt und dementsprechend auch warum sie so ist wie sie ist. Esther ist öfter an ihrer Seite, weiß um Pias Probleme und versucht sie so gut es geht zu unterstützen. Leo und Adam sind diesmal die Laufburschen/Stichwortgeber. Wir sehen öfter softe Hörk-Momente im Hintergrund. Leo macht sich um Pia Sorgen, aber vor allem Adam baut sie mit kleinen Gesten auf.

Krimiplot mit einer guten Portion softem Team.

This theory has little to no basis, but hear me out.

What if Holly's watch is Inky Mystery's version of the End Reel.

I mean if Wilson's Diary is the Illusion of Living like I suspect it is then the Watch can be the End Reel in some shape or form.

Like it only allows u to go back in time when near a machine part? Oh, and that creepy ass thing happened with the pool of ink in Chpt 284, which doesn't really make sense for the End Reel, BUT I'm really wanting it to be something really important that's connected to BATIM stuff.

Am I probably grasping at straws?

Am I writing this at 3 am when I have things I need to do tomorrow?

Even in the best ending where Iblis dies, Boris stays alive and he (somehow) gets convinced to get admitted to a mental hospital, he can't be truly... Fixed. He'll never really forget all that happened, will still try to reach for Iblis's hand years after he was saved from his situation.

He'll never be truly free from Iblis.

At best he'll have a live in caretaker (he was never able to learn how to be independent with his blindness because of Iblis) and get money from the government for help but..

He'll never take painting back up, and if he does he'll put them somewhere he knows he won't ever reach for when he finishes one.

He'll never really be social again. He'll be lonely.

Maybe one or two acquaintances, not counting his therapist, caretaker, etc.

He won't really like going outside.

He'll simply be lonely.

Not with Iblis, but never free from him.

Karloff‚ as he often did‚ is #playing older than he was but he's very good and highly sympathetic as the doddery old prof. there's lots of good performances here‚ from #Jean Rogers' charming daughter to Warren Hull's romantic interest (much less tiresome than the usual role fillers in these movies) and #special mention to Hobart C as a delightfully seedy smalltime crook who attaches himself to BK like a stray dog. the only dud note is #Alan Baxter's weirdly monotone turn as the big bad‚ lacking any of the threat the character needs. the ending is twee and silly and there's #some (understandably) shaky fx work but this is genuinely a very fun time and a pleasant change from the usual Karloff vehicle of the era #one jarring moment: there's a very brief moment where a plot related news bulletin is heard on the radio‚ and as soon as it's finished the #news announcer begins to turn to the 'news from Spain' but the radio is switched off and the film moves on before we hear any more; this is #1937 remember‚ a moment of global tumult and thick in the gathering storm of the years to come but this is the only moment that the real #world is allowed to intrude into the charming and slighty silly world of eccentric inventors and sinister crooks

For April Fool's day tomorrow I almost made a fake chapter where it's revealed Rudi and Dawud are siblings and their respective dead dad is actually the same person but it was so obviously a joke I cringed myself into being unable to write it 💀

#i mean do i even need to explain why this plot twist wouldn't work #like we straight up know who Dawud's dad is it has never been a mystery #and while we never saw Rudi's dad we do have some information about him #and we know the two men had a different nationality/religion/job/species/name like...#the only thing they have in common is they're dead and still they didn't died the same way or even the same year #Boris died in a plane crash in 2012 and Rashid of an aneurysm in 2009 #like unless Guadalupe had an affair with Rashid and Boris is not their actual dad it would straight up not be possible #or Farida/Boris and Rashid is not actually Dawud's dad #and even that is a stretch within the context of the story and not work well at all #it would just be drama for the sake of it #i think the only way this could even be foreshadowed is cause Rudi is from Germany and Dawud used to take german classes back in high schoo #elouan's rambling
